In this work, we study spacecraft orbital motion around potentially "dangerous" near-Earth asteroid (99942) Apophis under the combined effects of perturbations from the third-body gravity, asteroid's non-spherical gravitational field, and the direct solar radiation pressure, incorporating possible asteroid's shadow crossings. To identify possibly stable orbital zones around Apophis, we vary initial conditions of the semimajor axis, inclination, and the longitude of ascending node. The stability is defined in terms of spacecraft lifetime in orbits without collisions or escapes. We have found two regions of stable orbits (initially circular) with a lifetime of up to 3 years: the one with small initial radii (about 400 m), lying close to the modified Laplace plane, the other with initial radii of 1.5–2.5 km, lying near the terminator plane. We also compared the cases accounting for full factors to those without shadows to see the influence of eclipse on the stable orbits. Results demonstrate the importance of considering the asteroid's shadow effect in the long-term orbital evolution - the eclipse may significantly change spacecraft lifetime (in years) at low orbits. • Asteroid's shadow, projected by an ellipsoid, is considered in equations of motion. • 3-year stable orbits can exit near the modified Laplace Plane and terminator plane. • Eclipse may significantly change spacecraft lifetime (in years) at low orbits. Dialogue between international humanitarian law (IHL) and Buddhism draws attention to the challenging question of the nature and identity of the Buddhist soldier. Here, the Buddhist soldier is considered not as a simple binary contradiction but as a complex dynamic paradox that can be unfolded, explored and understood through the use of Buddhist philosophy. The dialectical logic of Madhyamaka is harnessed through dialectical process analysis (DPA), a method that shows complex dynamic relationships in relatively accessible and legible spatial form, as maps. DPA maps are used to analyse the complex, dynamic nature of military duty, the soldier as responsible individual, and the soldier in socio-political context. Connections between the Mahāyāna Buddhist ideal of the bodhisattva and the Jungian Warrior Hero archetype are explored. A model is proposed for the ethical conduct of military operations in accordance with IHL, which includes the failure of ethics and law in the case of military atrocity. Ethics are discussed in both Buddhist and more general terms as 'natural ethics', for the critical test is not some parochial religious orthodoxy, but practical compliance with IHL in the field of conflict. Difficulties that the practice of ethical soldiering faces are noted. Let F be a family of r -uniform hypergraphs. The feasible region Ω (F) of F is the set of points (x , y) in the unit square such that there exists a sequence of F -free r -uniform hypergraphs whose shadow density approaches x and whose edge density approaches y. The feasible region provides a lot of combinatorial information, for example, the supremum of y over all (x , y) ∈ Ω (F) is the Turán density π (F) , and Ω (∅) gives the Kruskal-Katona theorem. We undertake a systematic study of Ω (F) , and prove that Ω (F) is completely determined by a left-continuous almost everywhere differentiable function; and moreover, there exists an F for which this function is not continuous. We also extend some old related theorems. For example, we generalize a result of Fisher and Ryan to hypergraphs and extend a classical result of Bollobás by almost completely determining the feasible region for cancellative triple systems. When OLED materials are depositing on the back‐plane in the evaporation process, they can be mixed in pixels by the FMM shadow. As a result, the luminance is decreased and abnormal display panels are made. Previously, we measured the level of shadow using AFM (atomic force microscopy) technique, but this technique cannot be applied to actual display panel. So we have introduced the FLIM (fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy) technique to identify the cause of the problem. We can analyze the mixed OLED materials using the lifetime of organic materials at a specific wavelength. Finally, we can define the level of shadow and distinguish the normal and abnormal pixels while the general PL (photoluminescence) method cannot measure the shadow. Let X be an n -element set and let F be a family consisting of k -subsets of X. The matching number of F is defined as the maximum number of pairwise disjoint members in F. Shadow (Guo et al., 2021) is a lightweight block cipher based on a new logical combination method of AND-RX operation and the generalized Feistel structure with high diffusion and excellent performance in hardware implementation. In this paper, the components and structure of Shadow cipher are researched, and based on MILP automatic search algorithms for differential trails the 2-round iterative differential characteristics are obtained, then the full-round differential characteristics of both Shadow-32 and Shadow-64 are given. Moreover, targeting Shadow-32, we conduct 32-bit round-key recovery attack by using four 13.5-round differential trails, and the experimental verification shows that the time complexity is 2 26. 02 and space complexity is 2 14. 1. Recovering the 64 master key bits need to solve a system of multivariate equations over F 2 with the time complexity more than 2 50. 69. Finally, we analyze the reasons for the insecurity of the Shadow cipher that may help to improve the cryptographic performance of the Shadow or provide help for a new block cipher design. In this work, we have studied weak gravitational lensing effect around black hole and determine shadow radius in GUP-corrected-Schwarzschild spacetime (S-GUP) in presence of plasma environment. We started with orbits of photons around black hole in S-GUP. In addition, we have studied shadow and gravitational weak lensing around such black hole. By using observational data of EHT project for the M87* and Sgr A*, we have got constrains parameter ϵ in S-GUP gravity. Further to make a connection with observations, we investigate magnification and position of images formed as a result of lensing, and finally weak deflection angle and magnification for sources near M87* and Sgr A*. Project Description:  Bicycle detection has become a popular feature of high demand in cities and agencies across the United States. California has recently mandated that all new limit line detector installations as well as modifications to existing limit line detection must provide bicycle detection. This has created the need to develop detection methodologies which are able to detect bicycles as well as differentiate them from vehicles. The objective of this project is to utilize Econolite Control Products’ Autoscope Encore video detection solution to design and validate a methodology which is able to detect and differentiate bicycles from vehicles. Prerogative of what Jung calls visionary art, the aesthetics of German Expressionist cinema is “primarily expressive of the collective unconscious,” and – unlike the psychological art, whose goal is “to express the collective consciousness of a society” – they have succeeded not only to “compensate their culture for its biases” by bringing “to the consciousness what is ignored or repressed,” but also to “predict something of the future direction of a culture” (Rowland 2008, italics in the original, 189–90). After a theoretical introduction, the article develops this idea through the example of three visionary works: Arthur Robison’s Warning Shadows (Schatten, 1923), Fritz Lang’s The Weary Death aka Destiny (Der müde Tod, 1921), and Paul Leni’s Waxworks (Wachsfigurenkabinett, 1924).

In the last decade, the analysis of shading or sunlight in architectural projects has become an important role in improving building thermal and lighting performances. Selecting an appropriate software tool for this type of analysis is a challenging task given the little information available. Therefore, the paper reviews the existing literature on heliodon designs and computational tools for building shadow analysis. The review includes a detailed description and classification of various types of heliodons, along with their operating principles and geometric features that affect their performance, including light sources, positioning mechanisms, and structures. This paper also includes descriptions and classification of the computational tools for testing building shadow patterns and applications in architecture. Moreover, this paper shows the capabilities of different software packages and their essential features, strengths, and limitations. In addition, we identified the current gaps in the literature on heliodons and computational tools. According to the results, for the case of heliodons, there is a lack of error analysis and a standardized calibration process, therefore, repeatability of the results is difficult to achieve. In the case of computational tools, they have reached a higher degree of success in the market than the heliodons, however, the cost of licensing and learning curve can be a limitation.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap struktur ketaksadaran kolektif tokoh utama (Rei) dalam novel The Sweet Sins karya Rangga Wirianto Putra. Dalam analisis ini digunakan teori kepribadian Jung, yaitu konsep struktur ketaksadaran kolektif dalam jiwa manusia yang meliputi persona, anima-animus, shadow, dan self. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Dari analisis yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut. Pertama, tokoh Rei menggunakan persona sebagai cara untuk menyesuaikan diri di lingkungannya. Kedua, shadow dalam diri Rei merupakan pengalaman yang ditolak karena tidak sesuai dengan moral atau norma yang berlaku. Ketiga, tokoh Rei memproyeksikan anima dalam dirinya bukan kepada perempuan tetapi pada sesama laki-laki. Keempat, self dalam diri Rei ditunjukkan dalam bentuk perjuangan untuk mencapai keseimbangan taraf kesadaran dan ketaksadaran saat berpisah dengan pasangannya. Struktur ketaksadaran tokoh Rei memengaruhi kon ik yang terjadi dalam dirinya maupun dengan tokoh yang lain.

In order to avoid the limitations of the available empirical informal sector estimation methods and the problem with availability and coherence in input data, Currency demand approach to shadow economy estimation is extended by evaluating a Vector Error Correction model for the Ukrainian economy, using monthly monetary statistics data. The possible critique of the choice of exogenous factors determining the shadow economy and influencing the currency demand is avoided by modelling only the endogenous relationship between the cointegrating time series, namely the logarithm of currency in circulation and the deposit interest rate. The model is proven to be dynamically stable with theoretically justified values of the estimated coefficient and suitable for further analysis. Through historical decomposition, the upper-bound estimates of the size of Ukrainian shadow economy are obtained under the assumptions that all the currency demand unaffected by interest rate shocks is generated by informal economic activity; and that money velocity in the observed economy serves as an upper limit for the corresponding parameter of the informal sector in each time period. These estimates are found to be consistent with contemporary published studies of Ukrainian shadow economy. The proposed approach is considered useful for rapid informal sector estimations and provision of initial and boundary conditions for Multiple Causes – Multiple Indicators and Computable General Equilibrium models.

In this paper, we discussed optical properties of the nonlinear magnetic charged black hole surrounded by quintessence with a nonzero cosmological constant Λ. Setting the state parameter ω = − 3 / 2 , we studied the horizons, the photon region and the shadow of this black hole. It turned out that for a fixed quintessential parameter γ , in a certain range, with the increase of the rotation parameter a and magnetic charge Q , the inner horizon radius increases while the outer horizon radius decreases. The cosmological horizon r Λ decreases when γ or Λ increases and it increases slightly when a and Q increase. The shapes of photon region were then studied and depicted through graphical illustrations. Finally, we discussed the effects of the quintessential parameter γ and the cosmological constant Λ on the shadow of this black hole with a fixed observer position in the domain of outer communication. We present neural compositing, a deep-learning based method for augmented reality rendering, which uses convolutional neural networks to composite rendered layers of a virtual object with a real photograph to emulate shadow and reflection effects. The method starts from estimating the lighting and roughness information from the photograph using neural networks, renders the virtual object with a virtual floor into color, shadow and reflection layers by applying the estimated lighting, and finally refines the reflection and shadow layers using neural networks and blends them with the color layer and input image to yield the output image. We assume low-frequency lighting environments and adopt PRT (precomputed radiance transfer) for layer rendering, which makes the whole pipeline differentiable and enables fast end-to-end network training with synthetic scenes. Working on a single photograph, our method can produce realistic reflections in a real scene with spatially-varying material and cast shadows on background objects with unknown geometry and material at real-time frame rates. Several factors affecting fabric surface quality were simply described. By taking the measures like optimizing the spacer, improving the supervisor for the raw material hand picking up defects, analyzing strength and twist multiplier by T test method in SPSS, changing the weaving process, ensuring the humidification time in back spinning and so on, the problems like more shadow and fine yarn defects on the surface of knitted fabric, slubby knitting yarn kink broken end, thick warp and style difference happened in denim fabric, unevenness yarn arrangement on the fabric surface, shrinkage difference and large multiple slub yarn broken end in denim fabric and so on were solved. This article engages with both terror management theory (TMT) and Carl Jung's notion of the shadow to explore why and how students and teachers can exhibit rigid thinking in social studies classrooms when perspectives divergent from their own are presented. Emerging from research interested in exploring preservice teachers' implementation of TMT in their classrooms, this work offers one approach for a radical contextualization of the emotionality of learning to understand opportunities, challenges, and experiences of affectively difficult moments within social studies' classrooms. After offering a theoretical framework through which to approach the data from our research, we use this lens to understand how and why defensive compensatory reactions might emerge within the classroom. We then explore how these reactions potentially relate to hostility, before investigating how educators might help students illuminate such threat and defense cycles and therefore disrupt potential rigid polarization. The spiritual journey that Larry from The Razor's Edge makes after his traumatizing war experience deserves to be examined and its significance elucidated. Individuation, the central concept of Jungian psychology, offers a lens. In this interpretation, Larry's journey is understood as an individuation process whose three stages are represented by the shadow, the anima and the Self, all personified by the novel's characters. Just as individuation should be the goal of individual growth, Larry's spiritual journey exemplifies a solution to the spiritual crisis plaguing the historical background that the novel is set in. Speed ​​and power are the most important physical components in badminton with the current rally point system. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of badminton shadow training on power and speed. This research used experimental research with randomized group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this study were male students IKOR unesa 2018 class which were randomly divided into experimental group 1 (K1) and experimental group 2 (K2) consisting of 10 people per group. K1 group was given badminton shadow training with 1: 1 interval training method and K2 group with 1: ½ interval training method with 15 seconds training time. Sunlight conditions can reduce drivers’ visibility, which is a safety concern on road networks. This research introduces a method to study sun glare incidence in road environments. Sun glare areas during daylight hours are automatically detected from mobile laser scanning (MLS) and aerial laser scanning (ALS) point clouds. The method comprises the following steps. First, the Sun’s position (solar altitude and azimuth) referring to a location is calculated. Second, the incidence of sun glare with the user’s angle of vision is analyzed based on human vision. Third, sun ray intersections with near obstacles (vegetation, building, etc.) are calculated utilizing MLS point clouds. Finally, intersections with distant obstacles (mountains) are calculated utilizing ALS point clouds. MLS and ALS data are processed in order to combine both data types, remove outliers, and optimize computational time for intersection searches (point density reduction and Delaunay triangulation). The method was tested on two real case studies, covering roads with different bearings, slopes, and surroundings. The combination of MLS and ALS data, together with the solar geometry, identify areas of risk for the visibility of drivers. Consequently, the proposed method can be utilized to reduce sun glare, implementing warnings in navigation systems.

In order to improve the accuracy of underwater object classification, according to the characteristics of sonar images, a classification method based on depthwise separable convolution feature fusion is proposed. Firstly, Markov segmentation is used to segment the highlight and shadow regions of the object to avoid the loss of information caused by simultaneous segmentation. Secondly, depthwise separable convolution is used to learn the deep information of images for feature extraction, which produces less network computation. Thirdly, features of highlight and shadow regions are fused by the parallel network structure, and pyramid pooling is added to extract the multi-scale information. Finally, the full connection layers are used to achieve object classification through the Softmax function. Experiments are conducted on simulated and real data. Results show that the method proposed in this paper achieve superior performance compared with other models, and it also has certain flexibility.
