Abstract

In this paper, explains the need and possibility of creating a model of activity engineering specialists with using a modular approach to the classification of occupations. The analysis of the most common approaches to the modeling of engineering, is conducted; their advantages and limitations are identified. The basic principles of a modular approach to the classification of professions, the proposed V. E. Gavrilov, are reviewed. The algorithm of selection modules of engineering specialties is proposed. В данной статье обосновывается необходимость и возможность создания модели деятельности специалиста инженерного профиля с использованием модульного подхода к классификации профессий. Дан анализ наиболее распространенных подходов к разработке моделей инженерной деятельности, выявлены их достоинства и ограничения. Рассмотрены основные принципы модульного подхода к классификации профессий, предложенного В. Е. Гавриловым. Представлен алгоритм выделения модулей инженерных специальностей.

Abstract

The idea to unite smartphones used as personal environmental sensors and health indicators into a scalable network for data collection and processing by the internet-cloud is proposed. Access to the sensors, which are available in every smartphone, will provide the appropriate software. Such a monitoring at the global level would reveal the impact of the electromagnetic radiation, environmental pollution and weather factors on human health. Participation of students in these measurements increases their educational and social activities., Запропонована ідея об’єднати смартфони як особисті датчики довкілля та показники здоров’я у масштабовану мережу для збору та обробки даних в Інтернеті. Доступ до датчиків, доступних у кожному смартфоні, забезпечить відповідне програмне забезпечення. Такий моніторинг на глобальному рівні виявить вплив електромагнітного випромінювання, забруднення навколишнього середовища та погодних чинників на здоров’я людей. Участь студентів у цих вимірах підвищує їхню освітню та соціальну діяльність.

Abstract

Generation of plasma under supercritical conditions is of fundamental and applied interest. In this paper, the reduced electric fields required for breakdown of gaseous and supercritical carbon dioxide are comparatively analyzed for planar and coaxial cylindrical geometries. The indirect comparison of measured breakdown voltages suggests an essential change in the ionization mechanism both for uniform and nonuniform fields. Index Terms--Breakdown, corona, discharge, supercritical.

Abstract

The OPERA neutrino detector in the underground Gran Sasso Laboratory (LNGS) was designed to perform the first detection of neutrino oscillations in appearance mode through the study of νμ→ ντ oscillations. The apparatus consists of an emulsion/lead target complemented by electronic detectors and it is placed in the high energy long-baseline CERN to LNGS beam (CNGS) 730 km away from the neutrino source. Runs with CNGS neutrinos were successfully carried out in 2007 and 2008 with the detector fully operational with its related facilities for the emulsion handling and analysis. Abstract

The OPERA neutrino oscillation experiment has been designed to prove the appearance of ντ in a nearly pure νμ beam (CNGS) produced at CERN and detected in the underground Hall C of the Gran Sasso Laboratory, 730 km away from the source. In OPERA, τ leptons resulting from the interaction of ντ are produced in target units called bricks made of nuclear emulsion films interleaved with lead plates. The OPERA target contains 150000 of such bricks, for a total mass of 1.25 kton, arranged into walls interleaved with plastic scintillator strips. The detector is split into two identical supermodules, each supermodule containing a target section followed by a magnetic spectrometer for momentum and charge measurement of penetrating particles. Real time information from the scintillators and the spectrometers provide the identification of the bricks where the neutrino interactions occurred. The candidate bricks are extracted from the walls and, after X-ray marking and an exposure to cosmic rays for alignment, their emulsion films are developed and sent to the emulsion scanning laboratories to perform the accurate scan of the event. In this paper, we review the design and construction of the detector and of its related infrastructures, and report on some technical performances of the various components. The construction of the detector started in 2003 and it was completed in Summer 2008. The experiment is presently in the data taking phase. 235. Volumetric flame synthesis of mixed tungsten–molybdenum oxide nanostructures.

Abstract

Mixed-metal (Mo/W) oxide nanostructures were synthesized volumetrically in the oxygen-rich zone of a counter-flow diffusion flame. High purity Mo and W wires were used to generate Mo and W oxide vapors that are transformed into mixed-metal oxide nanostructures while transported by the gas flow in the upward direction toward the stagnation plane. The Mo wire was inserted in a lower position within the flame volume than the W wire. Samples of generated nanomaterials collected thermophoretically from the flame volume at various axial positions allowed tracing of the particle evolution. The following synthesis stages were identified. MoO 3 structures are first formed in the lower part of the flame. As they are carried by the gas flow, W oxide vapors deposit on the surfaces of the early formed MoO 3 nanostructures. W atoms diffuse at the interfaces of the MoO 3 structures to form mixed W–Mo oxide nanoparticles. Fully grown structures, collected near the stagnation plane (SP), are nanocubes exhibiting well-defined edges with sizes less than 100 nm. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy elemental mapping revealed that the mature structures have uniform distribution of W, Mo, and O atoms. The measured lattice spacing showed expanded lattice distance of MoO 3 which may be attributed to the incorporation of W atoms in the MoO 3 crystal and formation of W–Mo oxide structures. Abstract

We discuss a Lie algebraic and differential geometry construction of solutions to some multidimensional nonlinear integrable systems describing diagonal metrics on Riemannian manifolds, in particular those of zero and constant curvature. Here some special solutions to the Lam\'e and Bourlet type equations, determining by n arbitrary functions of one variable are obtained in an explicit form. In the present paper we obtain some integrable generalisations of the continuous Toda system generated by a flat connection form taking values in higher grading subspaces of the algebra of the area--preserving diffeomorphism of the torus $T^2$, and construct their general solutions. The grading condition which we use here, imposed on the connection, can be realised in terms of some holomorphic distributions on the corresponding homogeneous spaces., 12 pages, no figures, LaTeX file
