Abstract

Ethylenediamine bridged benzoxazine proligands were synthesized by a modified Mannich condensation reaction. The reaction of the proligands with two equivalents of AlMe3 resulted in the formation of dinuclear Al(III) compounds in high yield and purity. When the ligand binds to the Al(III) center, it forms two separate six‐membered N,O‐chelates with the two Al atoms that resembles the N‐alkylated salan moiety. Each aluminum atom adopts a distorted tetrahedral geometry as revealed from the single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies of 1. The catalytic activity of these aluminum compounds was investigated towards the ROP of rac‐LA and ROCOP of epoxides (PO, CHO, tBuGE) and phthalic anhydride and ROCOP of CHO with CO2. Abstract

The goal of our study is to increase public awareness of natural contraceptives and their powerful advantages over surgical abortion in order to provide people with an alternative method of ending an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy rather than the dreaded surgical procedure. Since ancient times, traditional remedies have been used all across the world to control fertility. Still, the tribal community mostly relies on these herbs for contraception and to cause abortions. The belief in therapeutic approaches has not been diminished despite the tremendous advancement of allopathic treatment because of its negative side effects.  Plants and herbs have been used to induce abortions, although there is very little published information on the most regularly used ones. The grail of this paper is to detail the herbal products used to cause abortion.

Abstract

The lifestyle of people has changed over the time. Before the revolution days, people suffered from various diseases and the availability of medicines were not available. Today’s life is busier. Healthcare system has improved a lot but at the same time the number of people getting affected by different sources is still on a rise. The number one cause of death worldwide is due to heart diseases. The death rates due to cardiovascular disease increased. In order to improve the health conditions, there is a continuous development of synthetic and herbal medicines. Recently, rise in the use of herbal medicines have due to its natural origins and less side effects. One of the emerging herbs is Nigella sativa described as the remedy of all diseases. The tropic activity of the extracted volatile oil from Nigella sativa is observed on the isolated frog’s heart. The heart was isolated from the frog and was treated with adrenaline and acetylcholine to study its activity respectively. The isolated heart was also treated with the volatile oil of Nigella sativa seeds which produced dose dependent bradycardia like situation followed by cardiac arrest.

Abstract

Objective: Pediatric burns pose difficult healthcare issues in underdeveloped nations. Due to the scarcity of pediatric burn care facilities and qualified burn-care staff, patients are frequently referred from a rural hospital. This study explores the burn-treatment approach that could be used in rural hospitals in the absence of a dedicated pediatric burn care facility. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of clinical data of 199 children who received treatment for burn-injury in an isolated general surgical ward. Wound debridement under anesthesia at the earliest was the cornerstone of the treatment plan for this cohort. Until the wounds healed, the treatment was repeated every alternate day. The patient's demographic data, number of surgical dressings, length of hospital stay, and outcome were analyzed. Results: The mean age of the patients was 51.68 ± 23.79 months. The male-female ratio was 1.45:1. The survival rate was 99.00%. The disability rate was 4.52%. Univariate logistic regression identified the age group, total body surface area affected, depth of the wound, and time of intervention as statistically significant variables (P < 0.05) predicting the disfigurement. Multivariate logistic regression identified the time intervals between surgical intervention and injury as an important predictor of morbidity. In addition, delayed presentation and delayed intervention led to a longer hospital stay, and more interventions than the early intervention cohort. Conclusions: Early debridement accelerates recovery and lessens the need for future skin grafts or contracture procedures. Abstract

A four-element multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna has been designed to operate at triple wide bands with improved port-isolation and polarisation diversity. The resonant modes of the MIMO are achieved by meander slot-loaded elliptical-shaped fundamental radiators, and the inter-port isolation is achieved by employing neutralising line-embedded ground plane. Apart from port-isolation, the proposed MIMO also offers polarisation diversity at different operating bands. The triple-band MIMO offers linear polarised radiation at WLAN band (4.2–5.6 GHz), right-hand circular polarised (RHCP) radiation at C-band (6.3–7.5 GHz) and left-hand circular polarised (LHCP) radiation at X-band (8.7–9.3 GHz). The overall isolation (>27 dB), envelope correlation co-efficient (ECC<0.0005), diversity gain (DG>9.9995), mean effective gain (MEG<0.734 dB), total active reflection co-efficient (TARC<−20 dB) and channel capacity loss (CCL<0.35 bits/S/Hz) meet the criteria for reliable MIMO operation. The proposed MIMO has been fabricated on a 55.6 × 55.6 × 1.6 mm3 piece of an FR-4 epoxy substrate after simulation and measured in VNA.
