Abstract Background High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) is a fatal form of ovarian cancer. Previous studies indicated some potential biomarkers for clinical evaluation of HGSOC prognosis. However, there is a lack of systematic analysis of different expression genes (DEGs) to screen and detect significant biomarkers of HGSOC. Methods TCGA database was conducted to analyze relevant genes expression in HGSOC. Outcomes of candidate genes expression, including overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS), were calculated by Cox regression analysis for hazard rates (HR). Histopathological investigation of the identified genes was carried out in 151 Chinese HGSOC patients to validate gene expression in different stages of HGSOC. Results Of all 57,331 genes that were analyzed, FAP was identified as the only novel gene that significantly contributed to both OS and PFS of HGSOC. In addition, FAP had a consistent expression profile between carcinoma-paracarcinoma and early-advanced stages of HGSOC. Immunological tests in paraffin section also confirmed that up-regulation of FAP was present in advanced stage HGSOC patients. Prediction of FAP network association suggested that FN1 could be a potential downstream gene which further influenced HGSOC survival. Conclusions High-level expression of FAP was associated with poor prognosis of HGSOC via FN1 pathway.

Multiple drug resistance (MDR) is a tough problem in developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) therapy. Here, we developed TPGS-coated cationic liposomes with Bcl-2 siRNA corona to load doxorubicin (Dox) i.e., Bcl-2 siRNA/Dox-TPGS-LPs, to enhance anticancer effect of Dox in HCC-MDR. TPGS i.e., d-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate, inhibited P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux pump and Bcl-2 siRNA suppressed anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 protein. The Bcl-2 siRNA loaded in the liposomal corona was observed under transmission electron microscopy. The stability and hemolysis evaluation demonstrated Bcl-2 siRNA/Dox-TPGS-LPs had good biocompatibility and siRNA-corona could protect the liposomal core to avoid the attachment of fetal bovine serum. In drug-resistant cells, TPGS effectively prolonged intracellular Dox retention time and siRNA-corona did improve the internalization of Dox from liposomes. In vitro and in vivo anticancer effect of this dual-functional nanostructure was examined in HCC-MDR Bel7402/5-FU tumor model. MTT assay confirmed the IC50 value of Dox was 20–50 fold higher in Bel7402/5-FU MDR cells than that in sensitive Bel7402 cells. Bcl-2 siRNA corona successfully entered the cytosol of Bel7402/5-FU MDR cells to downregulate Bcl-2 protein levels in vitro and in vivo. Bcl-2 siRNA/Dox-TPGS-LPs showed superior to TPGS- (or siRNA-) linked Dox liposomes in cell apoptosis and cytotoxicity assay in Bel7402/5-FU MDR cells, and 7-fold greater effect than free Dox in tumor growth inhibition of Bel7402/5-FU xenograft nude mice. In conclusion, TPGS-coated cationic liposomes with Bcl-2 siRNA corona had the capacity to inhibit MDR dual-pathways and subsequently improved the anti-tumor activity of the chemotherapeutic agent co-delivered to a level that cannot be achieved by inhibiting a MDR single way.

Abstract Background Nicotine, a pharmacologically active component of tobacco adversely affects the male reproductive system and fertility whereas icariin (ICA), the main active ingredient in Epimedium herba has been used in the treatment of several male reproductive problems. This study aimed at evaluating the protective or ameliorative effect of ICA against reproductive toxicity induced by intraperitoneal injection of nicotine in mice. Methods Using simple random allocation, forty male mice were randomly divided into 4 groups: control (received 0.35 mL physiological saline via gastric gavage), nicotine (0.75 mg/kg BW/day intraperitoneally), ICA (75 mg/kg BW/day gastric gavage), and nicotine plus ICA (nicotine, 0.75 mg/kg BW/day intraperitoneally + ICA, 75 mg/kg BW/day gastric gavage) group. After 35 days of treatment, the mice were weighed, sacrificed, and their reproductive organs (testis and epididymis) were collected and examined for further studies. Results The nicotine-treated group showed significantly decreased epididymal sperm density and serum testosterone concentration relative to the control group. Nicotine also caused oxidative damage shown by significant reduction in the activities of antioxidant enzymes and elevation in Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. ICA on the other hand, improved the reduction in sperm density, hormone levels, and activities of antioxidant enzymes altered in the nicotine treated mice. Conclusions These findings indicate that nicotine-induced reproductive toxicity and oxidative damage on male reproductive tissues could be attenuated by ICA.

Post-transcriptional RNA modification occurs on all types of RNA and plays a vital role in regulating every aspect of RNA function. Thanks to the development of high-throughput sequencing technologies, transcriptome-wide profiling of RNA modifications has been made possible. With the accumulation of a large number of high-throughput datasets, bioinformatics approaches have become increasing critical for unraveling the epitranscriptome. We review here the recent progress in bioinformatics approaches for deciphering the epitranscriptomes, including epitranscriptome data analysis techniques, RNA modification databases, disease-association inference, general functional annotation, and studies on RNA modification site prediction. We also discuss the limitations of existing approaches and offer some future perspectives.

ObjectivesLaminoplasty (LP) and laminectomy (LC) with or without fusion are recommended as treatment procedures for cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). The purpose of this study is to conduct a meta-analysis to analyze the results of CSM patients undergoing LP or LC surgery.MethodsWe systematically and comprehensively searched Web of Science, Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, OVID, VIP database, Google Scholar, Chinese Bio-medicine Literature database, and China Scientific Journal Full-text database to July 2021 for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational case series that compared LP and LC in patients with CSM. The main endpoints were the surgical process, radiographic outcomes, clinical outcomes, and surgical complications.ResultsA total of 19 were included the inclusion criteria in this meta-analysis (n = 4,348 patients). There was no significant difference in range of motion (ROM), sagittal vertical axis (SVA), Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA), Cobb angle, visual analog scale (VAS), cervical curvature index (CCI), Nurick score, Neck Dysfunction Index (NDI), and complications. LP was found to be superior than LC in terms of complications of C5 radiculopathy and surperficial infection.ConclusionOur results indicate that LP can achieve better results in C5 radiculopathy and superficial infection in surgical treatment of CSM compared with LC. Background Sleep fragmentation induced by repetitive arousals is a hallmark of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Sleep fragmentation has been linked to hypertension in community‐based studies, but it is unclear if this association is manifest in OSA. We aimed to explore whether frequent arousals from sleep modify the relationship between OSA and prevalent hypertension. Methods and Results A total of 10 102 patients with OSA and 1614 primary snorers were included in the study. Hypertension was defined on either direct blood pressure measures or diagnosis by a physician. Spontaneous, respiratory, and movement arousals were derived by polysomnography. Logistic regression models were used to estimate the associations between arousals and prevalent hypertension in patients with OSA and primary snorers. BackgroundOn 1 February 2016, the World Health Organization declared Zika transmission a public health emergency of international concern. Monitoring and responding to community awareness, concern, and possible knowledge gaps are critical during public health emergencies. Here, we describe the review and analysis of micro-blogs posted on Sina-Weibo, China's largest social media platform, to develop and disseminate a Zika virus education campaign.MethodsWe used CYYUN Voice Express' Weibo Spider tool and the search terms of "Zhaika" OR "Zika" OR "Zikv" to capture microblogs about Zika virus retrospectively from February 1 to December 31, 2016 and prospectively from June 1 to November 15, 2017. We described microblogs meeting our inclusion criteria by month and Zika virus outbreaks in Asia and by source (e.g., government agency, individual, or other). We identified common misleading or inaccurate content authored by individual micro-bloggers (i.e., not supported by available scientific evidence) through a qualitative review. We used this information to develop and disseminate health awareness material about the Zika virus through China CDC's 12320 Health Hotline Weibo account. An online survey was conducted to obtain feedback on the material.ResultsWe captured 15,888 microblogs meeting our inclusion criteria. Zika-related microblogs peaked in September 2016, corresponding to news reports about the Zika outbreak in Singapore (August to November 2016). Most microblogs (12,994 [82%]) were authored by individual users, followed by media agencies (842 [5%]), businesses (829 [5%]), international organizations (370 [2%]), and Chinese government agencies (235 [1%]). Relevant microblogs primarily focused on clinical symptoms and health risks, modes of transmission, and actions taken by individuals to prevent infection and seek health care. Incorrect and/or mis-leading information from individual users concentrated on modes of transmission and possible treatments. The microblog "#Zika is that far and this close" health campaign was posted on Sina-Weibo and Baidu (Internet search engine in China) on September 18, 2016. Younger respondents (p-value = 0.01), and those with at least a college education (p-value = 0.03), were more likely than other respondents to consider the online campaign reliable and trustworthy.ConclusionRoutine review of Sina-Weibo and other social media platforms could enhance the ability of public health staff to effectively respond to community concerns and awareness during public health emergencies. Advancements of social media monitoring tools and staff training could help to promote health awareness during emergencies by directly addressing public perceptions and concerns. Various approaches may be needed to reach different at-risk populations, particularly older and less educated populations who may prefer more traditional modes of communication.

Simultaneous crystallization of multiple salt occurs during evaporative crystallization of industrial high-salt wastewater, making it difficult to separate multiple salt components due to agglomeration, thus forming solid waste. To investigate the main stages of simultaneous crystallization agglomeration phenomenon and the possibility of recovering pure components, agglomeration and dispersion of particles in simultaneous crystallization of NaCl and Na2SO4 under different crystallization orders in liquid and air phase are investigated in this paper. The results show that crystal agglomeration occurs mainly in the air phase, and the simultaneous crystallization of NaCl and Na2SO4 in liquid rarely results in agglomeration, and there are great differences in crystal morphology and size between NaCl and Na2SO4, which can be considered for separation of the two by physical means.

P21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1), as a member of the PAK family, has been implicated in various functions during somatic mitosis; however, less is known about its role during oocyte meiosis. Herein, we highlight the indispensable role of PAK1 in regulating spindle assembly and cell cycle progression during the first meiotic division of porcine oocytes. First, we found that the activated PAK1 expressed dynamically, and its subcellular localization was tightly associated with the spindle dynamics during meiosis in porcine oocytes. Specific inhibition of PAK1 activity by inhibitor targeting PAK1 activation-3 (IPA-3) led to impaired extrusion of the first polar body (PB1); with most of the IPA-3-treated oocytes arrested at germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) and subjected to failure of bipolar spindle formation. However, the adverse effects caused by IPA-3 on oocytes could be restored by reducing disulfide bonds between PAK1 and IPA-3 with dithiothreitol (DTT) treatment. Furthermore, the co-immunoprecipitation assay revealed that PAK1 interacted directly with Aurora A and transforming acidic coiled coil 3 (TACC3), providing an additional explanation for the similar localization of Aurora A and activated PAK1. Additionally, inhibiting the activity of PAK1 decreased the expression of p-Aurora A and p-TACC3; however, the reduced activity of Aurora A and TACC3 could be restored by DTT. In conclusion, PAK1 plays a crucial role in the proper assembly of the spindle during the first meiotic division of porcine oocytes, and the regulation of PAK1 is associated with its effects on p-Aurora A and p-TACC3 expression.

Using field geological survey, drilling and seismic data, combined with the study of regional tectonic evolution and structural deformation, as well as lithological and sedimentary analysis, we reconstructed the basin filling process and paleo-geography of north Tarim Basin in Early Cambrian, aiming to analyze the factors controlling the distribution and spatial architecture of the subsalt reservoir and source units and to define the favorable exploration direction. The Late Sinian tectonic activities in the northern Tarim Basin were characterized by different patterns in different areas, which controlled the sedimentary pattern in the Early Cambrian. The boundary faults of Nanhuaian rift basin in the south slope of Tabei uplift and the north slope of Tazhong uplift became reactivated in the Early Cambrian, forming two NEE and EW striking subsidence centers and depocenters, where the predicted thickness of the Yurtusi Formation could reach 250 meters. In the Xiaoerbulake period, the weak rimmed platform was developed in the hanging wall of syndepositional fault. Whereas the Nanhuaian rift system in the Tadong and Manxi areas were uplifted and destroyed in the Late Sinian, and appeared as gently slope transiting toward the subsidence center in the Early Cambrian. The former had the sedimentary features of hybrid facies platform and the latter had the sedimentary features of ramp platform. The black shale of the Yurtus Formation in the footwall of syndepositional fault and the reef bank of Xiaoerbulake Formation platform margin in the hanging wall in Early Cambrian constitute a predicable source-reservoir combination. The activity intensity of syndepositional fault controlled the thickness of black shale and the scale of the reef bank. It is suggested carrying out high accuracy seismic exploration to determine the location of Early Cambrian syndepositional faults, on this basis, to search the reef bank of Xiaoerbulake Formation along the faults westward, and then drill risk exploration wells at sites where traps are shallow in buried depth. Background: There have been no systemic studies about right heart filling pressure and right ventricular (RV) distensibility in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Therefore, we aimed to explore combinations of echocardiographic indices to assess the stages of RV diastolic dysfunction.Methods and Results: We recruited 32 healthy volunteers and 71 patients with CTEPH. All participants underwent echocardiography, cardiac catheterization (in patients with CTEPH), and a 6-min walk test (6MWT). The right atrial (RA) end-systolic area was adjusted for body surface area (BSA) (indexed RA area). RV global longitudinal diastolic strain rates (SRs) and RV ejection fraction (EF) were measured by speckle tracking and three-dimensional echocardiography (3D echo), respectively. All 71 patients with CTEPH underwent pulmonary endarterectomy. Of the 71 patients, 52 (73%) had decreased RV systolic function; 12 (16.9%), 26 (36.6%), and 33 (46.5%) patients had normal RV diastolic pattern, abnormal relaxation (stage 1), and pseudo-normal patterns (stage 2), respectively. The receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the optimal cut-off values of early diastolic SR 8.8 cm2/BSA had the best accuracy in identifying patients with RV diastolic dysfunction, with 87% sensitivity and 82% specificity. During a mean follow-up of 25.2 months after pulmonary endarterectomy, the preoperative indexed RA area was shown as an independent risk factor of the decreased 6MWT distance.Conclusions: Measuring early diastolic SR and indexed RA area would be useful in stratifying RV diastolic function.

The market reform of production factors is an important component of profit sustainable growth. In addition, higher innovation efficiency will increase the input-output ratio and affect sustainable profit growth. Therefore, it is necessary to study the influence of various factor market distortions and innovation efficiencies on sustainable profit growth. In this paper, the factor market distortions and innovation efficiencies are calculated by the Cobb–Douglas (C-D) production function and stochastic frontier analysis (SFA), respectively, and then the generalized method of moments (sys-GMM) method is employed to analyze the panel microdata of China's renewable energy industry from 2010 to 2019. The results yielded three important findings: 1) Factor market distortions can significantly reduce sustainable profit growth. Furthermore, due to various factor market distortions, including capital and labor market distortions, capital market distortions reduce profit sustainable growth more than labor market distortions. 2) Innovation efficiency is significantly positively related to profit sustainable growth. Moreover, low and high innovation efficiency are significantly negatively and positively related to profit sustainable growth, respectively, if they are divided from the perspective of technical efficiency. 3) The moderating effects of low and high innovation efficiency have a significantly negative and positive impact on the association between factor market distortions and profit sustainable growth, respectively. According to the above research conclusions, this paper gives several policy proposals to improve the innovation efficiency and profit sustainable growth of the renewable energy industry.

The imbalance between pro-oxidants and antioxidants is thought to be responsible for aging and cognitive impairment in many degenerative diseases, including schizophrenia (SZ). As the first antioxidant enzyme to detoxify superoxide radicals in mitochondria, manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) activity and its functional polymorphism of Ala-9Val have been found to be associated with SZ. In this study, we explored the association between MnSOD activity, MnSOD Ala-9Val polymorphism and cognitive dysfunction in unmedicated first-episode (UMFE) SZ patients, which has not been examined. We recruited 234 UMFE SZ patients and 232 healthy controls (HC) and evaluated them with Repeated Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS), plasma MnSOD activity and MnSOD Ala-9Val (rs4880) polymorphism. In addition, we used the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) to assess the severity of patients’ psychopathological symptoms. Compared with HC, UMFE patients showed extensive cognitive impairment on RBANS, and had higher MnSOD activity. MnSOD Ala-9Val polymorphism was not associated with SZ susceptibility and cognitive impairment, but only affected MnSOD activity in patients. Moreover, only in SZ patients with Val homozygotes, MnSOD activity was significantly correlated with cognitive impairment, especially in RBANS total score, visuospatial/constructional and attention index scores. Our results suggest that cognitive impairment is associated with MnSOD activity in patients with first-episode SZ, which may be regulated by MnSOD Ala-9Val polymorphism.

As important parameters for characterizing heat transfer, thermal property parameters of aquifers and rock-soil skeletons have important research significance in the development and utilization of geothermal resources. The slug heat test is inspired by the slug test, and the heat is instantaneously excited in the test well so as to change the temperature of test section in the test well instantaneously. Based on the thermal radial convection-dispersion theory and the principle of heat conservation, the theoretical model of the slug heat test is established, and the model is solved by Laplace transform and inverse transform to obtain multiple sets of standard curves under different conditions. The slug heat tests were conducted in the indoor model, the slug heat test data under different hydrodynamic conditions were fitted with the standard curves and the thermal property parameters, including effective thermal conductivity, stagnant thermal conductivity, thermal mechanical dispersion coefficient, thermal dispersive degree, thermal diffusivity, heat capacity of aquifer, heat capacity and thermal conductivity of rock-soil skeletons, were accurately obtained. The test results are in good agreement with the empirical values. Meanwhile, the effective thermal conductivity of the aquifer also clearly increases with the increase of flow rate. The excitation temperature difference had little effect on the effective thermal conductivity of the aquifer. At the same time, numerical simulation methods are used to establish a numerical model consistent with the indoor test model, and the numerical model is assigned with the thermal property parameters obtained from the indoor slug heat test, and the measured values of temperature changes in the test well during the slug heat test under different hydrodynamic and excitation strength conditions are compared with the simulated values for verification. The research results show that the slug heat test has the characteristics of high applicability, simple operation and rapid testing, and can effectively determine the thermal properties parameters of aquifers and rock-soil skeletons.

The salt layer is critical for the structural deformation in the salt-bearing fold-and-thrust system, which not only acts as the efficient décollement layer but also flows to form salt tectonics. Kuqa Depression has a well-preserved thin-skinned fold-and-thrust system with the salt layer as the décollement. To investigate the effects of salt thickness on the structural deformation in the Kuqa Depression, three discrete element models with different salt thicknesses were constructed. The experiment without salt was controlled by several basal décollement dominant faults, forming several imbricate sheets. The experiments with salt developed the decoupled deformation with the salt layer as the upper décollement (subsalt, intrasalt, and suprasalt), significantly similar to the Kuqa Depression along the northern margin of Tarim Basin. Basal décollement dominant imbricated thrusts formed at the subsalt units, while the monoclinal structure formed at the suprasalt units. The decoupled deformation was also observed in the tectonic deformation graphics, distortional strain fields, and max shear stress fields. However, the salt layer was thickened in the thick salt model, and the salt thickness of the thin salt model varied slightly because the thin salt weakened the flowability of the salt. The lower max shear stress zone was easily formed in the distribution region of salt under the action of compression stress, which is conducive to the flow convergence of salt and the crumpled deformation of interlayer in salt. The results are well consistent with the natural characteristics of structural deformation in the Kuqa Depression. Our modeling result concerns the structural characteristics and evolution of salt-related structures and the effects of salt thickness on the structural deformation in the compressional stress field, which might be helpful for the investigations of salt-related structures in other salt-bearing fold-and-thrust belts.

Background: Early detection of influenza activity followed by timely response is a critical component of preparedness for seasonal influenza epidemic and influenza pandemic. However, most relevant studies were conducted at the regional or national level with regular seasonal influenza trends. There are few feasible strategies to forecast influenza activity at the local level with irregular trends. Methods: Multi-source electronic data, including historical percentage of influenza-like illness (ILI%), weather data, Baidu search index and Sina Weibo data of Chongqing, China, were collected and integrated into an innovative Self-adaptive AI Model (SAAIM), which was constructed by integrating Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model and XGBoost model using a self-adaptive weight adjustment mechanism. SAAIM was applied to ILI% forecast in Chongqing from 2017 to 2018, of which the performance was compared with three previously available models on forecasting. Findings: ILI% showed an irregular seasonal trend from 2012 to 2018 in Chongqing. Compared with three reference models, SAAIM achieved the best performance on forecasting ILI% of Chongqing with the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 11·9%, 7·5%, and 11·9% during the periods of the year 2014–2016, 2017, and 2018 respectively. Among the three categories of source data, historical influenza activity contributed the most to the forecast accuracy by decreasing the MAPE by 19·6%, 43·1%, and 11·1%, followed by weather information (MAPE reduced by 3·3%, 17·1%, and 2·2%), and Internet-related public sentiment data (MAPE reduced by 1·1%, 0·9%, and 1·3%). Interpretation: Accurate influenza forecast in areas with irregular seasonal influenza trends can be made by SAAIM with multi-source electronic data. Abstract Background Abdominal tuberculosis (TB) rarely presents with abdominal masses and rarely causes isolated gastric varices. Case presentation We report a case of isolated gastric varices secondary to abdominal TB mimicking lymphoma. A 42-year-old woman without any history of liver disease presented with melena and mild abdominal pain. Upon admission to the hospital, laboratory investigations revealed a hemoglobin level of 76 g/L. Gastroduodenoscopic examination showed isolated gastric fundal varices with red color signs. Abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) revealed non-enhanced masses of soft-tissue density in the lesser omental and the retropancreatic areas, multiple para-aortic lymph nodes, and multiple small hypodense splenic lesions. Positron emission tomography-CT showed hypermetabolic [F-18]2-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose activity involving multiple regional lymph nodes and the bone marrow, suggestive of lymphoma. Bone marrow biopsy revealed no abnormality. Histopathological examination of a CT-guided biopsy specimen showed granulomatous inflammation with necrosis and microorganisms that stained positive with acid-fast stains. Abdominal CECT showed a decrease in the size of the lesser omental and peripancreatic masses, as well as the para-aortic lymph nodes after 4-month anti-TB therapy. Conclusions TB should be considered among the differential diagnoses in patients with abdominal masses, isolated gastric varices, and regional lymphadenopathy. Prompt and definitive diagnosis of abdominal TB requires a coordinated approach involving laboratory tests, radiological examination, and invasive procedures for optimal decision making and management.

Objectives: Influenza A(H7N9) virus has emerged and resulted in human infections in Chongqing, southwestern China since 2017. This study aimed to describe the epidemiological characteristics of the first epidemic in this region. Methods: The epidemiological data of patients were collected. Live poultry markets (LPMs), commercial poultry farms (CPFs) and backyard poultry farms (BPFs) were monitored, and poultry sources were registered. Samples derived from the patients, their close contacts, and the environments were tested for influenza A(H7N9) virus by real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Genetic sequencing and phylogenetic analysis were also conducted. Results: Since the confirmation of the first patient infected with influenza A(H7N9) virus on March 5, 2017, nine patients had been identified within four months in Chongqing. Their mean age was 45 years, 77.8% were male, 66.7% were urban residents and 55.6% were of poultry related occupation. All patients became infected after exposure to live chickens. The median time interval from initial detection of influenza A(H7N9) virus in Chongqing to the patients’ onset was 75 days. Multipath matching pursuit (MMP) has been developed to solve the sparse signal recovery problems in compressed sensing, which can generate recovery error less than the traditional orthogonal matching pursuit type algorithms in terms of mean square error. However, the computational burden of MMP is seriously heavy, and limits itself in applications, finding the need to be improved urgently. To lighten the burden, in this paper, an accelerated version of the MMP is proposed based on pruning tree strategy for sparse signal recovery, that attempts to reduce some of the paths in subsequent searching. By this strategy, an accelerated MMP is established in the scenarios where the MMP works. It retains the desirable performance as MMP and can shorten the running time. We demonstrate the acceleration ability of the proposed algorithm with almost the same accuracy of the original MMP, for the reconstruction of both synthetic data and images.

Due to high costs and power consumptions, fully digital baseband precoding schemes are usually prohibitive in millimeter-wave massive MIMO systems. Therefore, hybrid precoding strategies become promising solutions. In this paper, we present a novel real-time yet high-performance precoding strategy. Specifically, the eigenvectors corresponding to the larger eigenvalues of the right unitary matrix after singular value decomposition on an array response matrix are used to abstract the angle information of an analog precoding matrix. As the obtained eigenvectors correspond to the larger singular values, the major phase information of channels is captured. In this way, the iterative search process for obtaining the analog precoding vectors is avoided, and thus the hybrid precoding can be realized in parallel. To further improve its spectral-efficiency, we enlarge the resultant vector set by involving more relevant vectors in terms of their correlation values with the unconstrained optimal precoder, and a hybrid precoder is thus produced by using the vector set. The simulation results show that our proposed scheme achieves near the same performance as the orthogonal matching pursuit does, whereas it costs much fewer complexities than the OMP, and thus can be realized in parallel.

Abstract Background Adequate bowel preparation is required for magnetic resonance enterography (MRE), which can be achieved by administering contrast solution after mid-gut tubing or taking contrast solution orally. We present the design of randomized controlled trial (RCT) to compare the efficacy and compliance of bowel preparation between mid-gut tubing and oral administering for MRE in patients with Crohn’s disease (CD). Methods/design This is an open-label, multicenter RCT. Ninety-six patients with CD in need of MRE examination and mid-gut tubing (prepared for fecal microbiota transplantation and/or enteral nutrition), aged ≥ 14 years, will be included. Patients will be randomized 1:1 into either bowel preparation by oral administering (oral group) or bowel preparation through mid-gut transendoscopic enteral tubing (TET) (tubing group). The primary outcome measures are: (1) degree of discomfort before/during/after bowel preparation for MRE using a visual 5-grade scale (1 = few, 5 = very severe); and (2) grade of bowel distention evaluated by a 5-grade scale (1 = 0–20% segmental distention, 2 = 20–40% distention, 3 = 40–60% distention, 4 = 60–80% distention, 5 = 80–100% distention). The secondary outcome measure is the accuracy of lesion detection through MRE confirmed by colonoscopy which is evaluated by a 5-point scale. Discussion The outcome of this study is expected to provide a novel effective clinical protocol of bowel preparation for MRE in patients with CD. We hope to highlight the concept of physician–patient satisfaction based on different methods of bowel preparation for MRE. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03541733. Based on the proposed calculation method for determining the different dip angle fracture permeability coefficients derived from the well flow vibration equation and the self-developed slug test system, research on the slug test in a field in fractured rock mass was carried out based on the underground water sealed cavern project of the National Huangdao Petroleum Reserve. The formation lithology of the test site was granite gneiss, and the fractures were not developed, which is conducive to the research of slug tests on fracture permeability. On the basis of obtaining the geological information of boreholes by using the self-developed slug test system, comparative research on the segmented slug test and conventional water pressure test was carried out. The test results show that the proposed slug test method and self-developed test system has good accuracy and applicability for determining the fracture permeability coefficient, equivalent permeability coefficient and rock mass permeability coefficient tensor, which is more convenient and efficient than other test methods.
