- Abstract
With the spread of yoga, meditation, and other Eastern spiritual practices in Western countries, clinical cases of “physio kundalini syndrome” have begun to emerge. In this article I presented a case that, despite having common elements with a psychotic disorder, can be considered a typical clinical case of awakening of kundalini, since the patient was apparently able to solve his health problems without any medical intervention and says he is perfectly integrated into the community.

WATERMARKS ,FLOODS ,STREAMFLOW ,WATER depth - Abstract
The floods that struck lower Tagus valley in February 1979 correspond to the most intense floods in this river and affected the largest number of people in a river flow event in Portugal, during the last 150 years. In fact, the vast area affected impacted significantly circa 10k people in the lower Tagus sector (and an additional 7k in other regions of Portugal), including thousands of people evacuated or made homeless. In this context, the present study focuses on an in depth analysis of this event from a hydrodynamic perspective by means of Iber+ numerical model and on developing strategies to mitigate the flood episodes that occur in the lower section of the Tagus river using the outstating floods of February 1979 as benchmark. In this sense, several large dams and reservoirs are located along the Tagus river basin, and for that, dam operating strategies were developed and analyzed to take advantage of these infrastructures to minimize the effect of floods. Overall, the numerical results indicate a good agreement with water marks and some descriptions of the 1979 flood event, which demonstrates the model capability to evaluate floods in the area under study. Regarding flood mitigation, obtained results indicate that the frequency of floods can be reduced with the proposed strategies. In addition, hydraulic simulations corroborated an important decrease in water depth and velocity for the most extreme flood events, and also a certain reduction of flood extension was detected. This confirms the effectiveness of the proposed strategies to help in reducing flood impact in lower Tagus valley through the efficient functioning of dams. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Compound weather and climate events are combinations of climate drivers and/or hazards that contribute to societal or environmental risk. Studying compound events often requires a multidisciplinary approach combining domain knowledge of the underlying processes with, for example, statistical methods and climate model outputs. Recently, to aid the development of research on compound events, four compound event types were introduced, namely (a) preconditioned, (b) multivariate, (c) temporally compounding, and (d) spatially compounding events. However, guidelines on how to study these types of events are still lacking. Here, we consider four case studies, each associated with a specific event type and a research question, to illustrate how the key elements of compound events (e.g., analytical tools and relevant physical effects) can be identified. These case studies show that (a) impacts on crops from hot and dry summers can be exacerbated by preconditioning effects of dry and bright springs. (b) Assessing compound coastal flooding in Perth (Australia) requires considering the dynamics of a non-stationary multivariate process. For instance, future mean sea-level rise will lead to the emergence of concurrent coastal and fluvial extremes, enhancing compound flooding risk. (c) In Portugal, deep-landslides are often caused by temporal clusters of moderate precipitation events. Finally, (d) crop yield failures in France and Germany are strongly correlated, threatening European food security through spatially compounding effects. These analyses allow for identifying general recommendations for studying compound events. Overall, our insights can serve as a blueprint for compound event analysis across disciplines and sectors., Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk

These analyses allow for identifying general recommendations for studying compound events. Overall, our insights can serve as a blueprint for compound event analysis across disciplines and sectors., Plain Language Summary: Many societal and environmental impacts from events such as droughts and storms arise from a combination of weather and climate factors referred to as a compound event. Considering the complex nature of these high-impact events is crucial for an accurate assessment of climate-related risk, for example to develop adaptation and emergency preparedness strategies. However, compound event research has emerged only recently, therefore our ability to analyze these events is still limited. In practice, studying compound events is a challenging task, which often requires interaction between experts across multiple disciplines. Recently, compound events were divided into four types to aid the framing of research on this topic, but guidelines on how to study these four types are missing. Here, we take a pragmatic approach and—focusing on case studies of different compound event types—illustrate how to address specific research questions that could be of interest to users. The results allow identifying recommendations for compound event analyses. Furthermore, through the case studies, we highlight the relevance that compounding effects have for the occurrence of landslides, flooding, vegetation impacts, and crop failures. The guidelines emerged from this work will assist the development of compound event analysis across disciplines and sectors.

- Abstract
This article aims to analyse the influence of socio-economic aspects on the maturity of electronic government (e-government) in the local context through a comparative case study. From the results found by Batista et al. (2022) when evaluating the maturity of e-governments in 26 capitals of the Brazilian states, the influence of socio-economic aspects was analysed. Socio-economic factors were identified by a selection of indicators grouped into four categories: 'income and living conditions', 'internet users and connectivity', 'literacy' and 'municipality size'. The results showed a positive correlation between medium and strong of the maturity of e-government with some indicators selected for referred categories, namely: GDP per capita, per capita income, internet connection by fixed broadband, internet usage in households and degree of urbanisation of the municipality. From the analysis, it was concluded that these indicators represent a minimum set of socio-economic conditions necessary to reach the maturity of e-government.

In less than a century Moçâmedes (Angola) has experienced two exponential population growth. The first, in the mid-nineteenth century, due to political factors in Brazil, and the second, in the 1950s and 1960s, boosted by the socioeconomic development in Moçâmedes city and region. Between the 1950s and 1970s, the region established itself as one of Angola's most important industrial hubs. Indeed, economic and demographic development, particularly in the postwar period (1939-45), has often been the subject of many film productions. Therefore, this article by analyzing two of the documentaries made - Fishing Industry in Southern Angola (1938) and Moçâmedes (1970) - has as its main goal to show the importance of colonial cinema as a source of information, in this case for the study of History and Cultural Heritage of Angola and Portugal.

The practical training course of the postgraduate program Profnit consists of a stage of 180 hours, which aims to empower students in practical activities, performing specific tasks in the partnerships focal point institutions. Four stages brought relevant contributions to the Technological Innovation Center of Federal University of Santa Catarina in 2019. These motivated the realization of this work addressed to report four cases related to the following topics: patent mapping, technology portfolio, plant breeders’ rights, geographic indication, Innovation Policy, and Confidentiality Policy. The methodological procedures used were technological forecasting, survey, bibliographic and documentary research. The main results were patent mapping, technology portfolio, the proposal of confidentiality and innovation policy, mapping of geographic indications, and plant breeders’ rights. We believe that the report of this experience of success can serve as a reference for other focal points of Profnit, besides being an inspiration for initiatives such as this to be implemented and replicated in public policies involving professional master’s degrees in Brazil.

The following essay emerges from a certain restlessness that has risen in a period of travel and exploration amongst what would be a "foreign", unknown environment. Once the inevitable conflict with what would have been the methodologies and principles [pre]acquired throughout an academic path, an interval of time and space is created to fulfill such transitional period with a theoretical and practical work of reflection, that dives into architectural production, having what is most proximate and intimate in its origin - the house - as main "object" and instrument of study. Between school and what will be the professional world, this essay pursues a certain clarification among questions such as 'what is a house?', and 'how can we provide such condition for [an authentic] house?', which will search for tools of support where these will be rehearsed, and where a sequence of (un)conscious references is reflected. In an undulate movement, constant and permanent, a project that searches sucessively to question according to a list of variables evolves, and the sistematization of such proccess results into a simultaneous clarification and construction of the problem. It is acknowledged the [limited-]circumstance of a (de)terminable test in a proccess that subtracts the family/ies-house out of its own context, in order to understand the morphologies of such habitational space. A house "for all" pursues a "tectonic" of relations by meaning to act on the coexistence of different generations, genders, permanencies, aptitudes... The evolution of this movement enables the transformation of the object towards a vision of what is [a manifestation of] a habitation problem nowadays, which sustains itself from the most variable possibilities of answer. Through a personal voice and other summoned ones, writings or "talkative" drawings - a course is taken towards a [possible] answer to the family/ies-house as a nurturing enclosure of a creative freedom, but also to a personal significance of house. A third look is built - resulting from the (re)conciliation of a first "academic" one, and the second of a "traveler" - acting as a molder of a position facing the profession, unequivocally bounded to a [sense of] personal project.

- Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify if the practice of Yoga influences mindfulness by sociodemographic variables, gender, age, years of practice, volume of practice, and teaching of Yoga. The participants were 281 adults aged from 18 to 90 years old, 81% women and 19% men (214 yoga practitioners, and 67 non-practitioners. The version of the Mindfulness Questionannaire (FFMQ) (Baer, Smith, Krietemeyer, & Toney, 2006) proposed by Ramos, Rosado, Serpa, Cangas, Gallego, & Ramos (2017) was used. This assesses four dimensions: to Observe, Not to Judge, to Describe, and to Act Consciously. Data analysis was carried out with the Statistic Program SPSS 25.0. The results indicate the existence of significant differences in several dimensions of Mindfulness. In the dimension to Observe, Yoga practitioners showed significantly higher scores than non-practitioners. Regarding Yoga teachers, those who practice displayed higher values in the dimension to Observe, but lower values in the dimension to Act Consciously. Women presented a specific behavior, different than men, practitioners, or non-practitioners. In the dimension Not to Judge, there were significant differences by age, with higher scores in practitioners aged 60 years old or more. The practice of Yoga may contribute to a higher level of Mindfulness, yet further research is necessary considering the multidimensionality of the studied construct., O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar se a prática de Yoga influencia a Atenção Plena, em função das variáveis sociodemográficas género, idade, anos de prática, volume de prática e lecionação de Yoga.
