Anthocyanins in Lycium ruthenicum Murray can be degraded into metabolites by intestinal microorganisms and have a wide range of biological functions. However, there are limited studies on the effect of anthocyanins on the intestinal flora structure in patients with cerebral infarction. To explore the new probiotic effects of ACN, the gut microbiota present in fecal samples obtained from healthy volunteers and patients with acute cerebral infarction underwent in vitro fermentation analysis. The in vitro fermentation product of ACN with L. ruthenicum Murray can significantly increase the diversity of the gut flora in patients with cerebral infarction. It can also promote beneficial bacteria (e.g., Bifidobacterium) in the guts of patients with acute cerebral infarction (e.g. Bifidobacterium, Allisonella, and Prevotell), reduce the growth of potentially harmful bacteria (Dialister, Megamonas, and Clostridium), and increase the levels of SCFAs. This investigation demonstrated the capability of ACN in vitro fermentation to improve the gut microbiota structure in patients with cerebral infarction. Aims. To test whether emotional intelligence plays a mediating role in the process by which moral sensitivity affects nurses' ability to communicate with angry patients. Background. Hospital workplace violence is a global problem that disrupts the normal work order of healthcare, undermines trust between nurses and patients, and threatens the physical and mental health of nurses. Improving nurses' ability to communicate with angry patients to identify and diffuse patients' anger is critical to reducing the nurse‐patient conflict and avoiding violence in the hospital workplace. Methods. The data were collected in China. A sample of 212 nurses completed measures of moral sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to communicate with angry patients. Structural equation modeling was used to test the study' hypothesis. Results. Our results suggest that nurses' emotional intelligence mediates the relationship between nurses' moral sensitivity and nurses' ability to communicate with angry patients, with a positive correlation between nurses' moral sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and ability to communicate with angry patients. Conclusions. The findings showed that nurses' moral sensitivity indirectly influenced nurses' ability to communicate with angry patients by directly influencing emotional intelligence. This study provides a theoretical and methodological approach to mitigate nurse‐patient conflict and reduce violence in the hospital workplace through a moral perspective. Nursing managers should pay attention to the moral sensitivity and emotional intelligence of nurses and promote their moral development and emotional intelligence by strengthening moral education in hospitals, utilizing emotional intelligence training courses and narrative nursing, ultimately promoting nurses' ability to communicate with angry patients, further contributing to the reduction of nurse‐patient conflict, avoiding violence in the hospital workplace, building a safer hospital environment, promoting the overall development of nurses, and contributing to the development of global health and wellness. CO2‐in‐water (C/W) foams have attracted much attention given their eco‐friendliness in recent years. However, limited surfactants were able to effectively adsorb at the supercritical CO2–water (C–W) interface considering the weak solvent strength of CO2, especially at high temperatures. Herein, attempts have been made to design suitable CO2 foaming agents by evaluating the influence of proportions of anionic and cationic surfactants and the affinity between aminopropyl methyl siloxane (APSi) and CO2. Through systematical foamability and foam stability experiments, together with the measurements of C–W equilibrium and dynamic interfacial tensions, the adsorption and stabilization mechanisms of sodium alpha olefin sulfonate (AOS)‐APSi aqueous dispersions on the CO2 foam films are revealed. Excellent foam properties were observed at AOS/APSi mass ratio of 9:1, in which initial foam height (h0) and half‐life period (t1/2) first increased and then decreased with increasing pressure, whereas the interfacial tension decreased with increasing pressure. The results indicate that the interaction of anionic and cationic head‐groups contributes to accelerating the surfactant adsorption rate from bulk to the C–W interface, enhancing foamability and stabilizing foam. Besides, the AOS/APSi mass ratio of 8:2 shows a good affinity for CO2 at 15 MPa, of which h0 is 26% higher and t1/2 is 60% slower than AOS alone. Furthermore, the initial mean bubble area of both 9:1 and 8:2 AOS/APSi mixtures was around half that of AOS alone. This work broadens the design of novel surfactant methodologies including CO2 foam, providing a theoretical guidance for the application of CO2 on enhanced‐oil‐recovery technologies. Purpose: Early recognition of coronary artery disease (CAD) could delay its progress and significantly reduce mortality. Sensitive, specific, cost-efficient and non-invasive indicators for assessing individual CAD risk in community population screening are urgently needed. Patients and Methods: 3112 patients with CAD and 3182 controls were recruited from three clinical centers in China, and differences in baseline and clinical characteristics were compared. For the discovery cohort, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to identify significant features and four machine learning algorithms (logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF) and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost)) were applied to construct models for CAD risk assessment, the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve and precision-recall (PR) curve were conducted to evaluate their predictive accuracy. The optimal model was interpreted by Shapley additive explanations (SHAP) analysis and assessed by the ROC curve, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA) and validated by two external cohorts. Results: Using LASSO filtration, all included variables were considered to be statistically significant. Four machine learning models were constructed based on these features and the results of ROC and PR curve implied that the XGBoost model exhibited the highest predictive performance, which yielded a high area of ROC curve (AUC) of 0.988 (95% CI: 0.986– 0.991) to distinguish CAD patients from controls with a sensitivity of 94.6% and a specificity of 94.6%. The calibration curve showed that the predicted results were in good agreement with actual observations, and DCA exhibited a better net benefit across a wide range of threshold probabilities. External validation of the model also exhibited favorable discriminatory performance, with an AUC, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.953 (95% CI: 0.945– 0.960), 89.9%, and 87.1% in the validation cohort, and 0.935 (95% CI: 0.915– 0.955), 82.0%, and 90.3% in the replication cohort. Intestinal mucosal barrier aging is a major cause of the occurrence and development of many chronic diseases in older adults and is closely associated with gut microbiota. However, it remains unclear whether exogenous supplementation with omega‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω‐3 PUFAs) can ameliorate aging‐induced intestinal mucosal barrier damage by regulating the gut microbiota. This study was conducted to explore the roles of ω‐3 PUFAs and gut microbiota in the process of maintaining the intestinal mucosal barrier. Senescence‐accelerated mouse prone 8 (SAMP8) mice were used to establish a geriatric animal model and given reasonable doses of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) supplemented diets for six months to validate the effect of ω‐3 PUFAs. Differences in the composition and function of gut microbiota were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. This study revealed that aging SAMP8 mice showed increased intestinal permeability and gut microbiota disorder. Long‐term supplementation with ω‐3 PUFAs reduced intestinal mucosal permeability (P < 0.05), regulated gut microbiota, strengthened the microecological interactions, and enhanced enrichment of metabolic pathways producing short‐chain fatty acids (P < 0.05), ultimately ameliorating intestinal mucosal barrier dysfunction. Furthermore, we demonstrated that ω‐3 PUFAs could maintain the aging intestinal mucosal barrier by regulating the relative abundance of eight key characteristic microbial strains to increase the concentration of DHA and EPA in the plasma and colon tissue and reduced intestinal permeability of SAMP8 mice. ω‐3 PUFAs can significantly ameliorate intestinal mucosal barrier function in senescence‐accelerated mice, and this effect is mediated by the gut microbiota. Creating directional heat pathways within polymer‐based elastomeric thermal interface materials (TIMs) using oriented thermally conductive fillers is an effective strategy for developing highly thermally conductive materials. In this work, we report the fabrication of oriented carbon fibers/alumina/silicone gel composites through a three‐dimensional printing method. Because of the high orientation degree of carbon fiber (CF) in the vertical direction, the resulting material demonstrates a through‐plane thermal conductivity of up to 27.77 Wm−1 K−1 with a composition of 21.75 wt% CF and 65.25 wt% spherical alumina, which is over 10 times higher than that of a parallel structure, surpassing the characters in most works of literature. In addition, the TIMs not only show outstanding flexibility (stress 62.27 psi at 30% strain) but also exhibit excellent resilience performance. With escalating human activities and the substantial emissions of greenhouse gases, global warming intensifies. This phenomenon has led to increased occurrences of various extreme hydrological events, precipitating significant changes in lakes and rivers across the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. Therefore, accurate information extraction about and delineation of water bodies are crucial for lake monitoring. This paper proposes a methodology based on the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) and Gumbel distribution to determine optimal segmentation thresholds. Focusing on Qinghai Lake, this study utilizes multispectral characteristics from the US Landsat satellite for analysis. Comparative assessments with seven alternative methods are conducted to evaluate accuracy. Employing the proposed approach, information about water bodies in Qinghai Lake is extracted over 38 years, from 1986 to 2023, revealing trends in area variation. Analysis indicates a rising trend in Qinghai Lake's area following a turning point in 2004. To investigate this phenomenon, Pearson correlation analysis of temperature and precipitation over the past 38 years is used and unveils the fact that slight precipitation impacts on area and that there is a positive correlation between temperature and area. In conclusion, this study employs remote sensing data and statistical analysis to comprehensively investigate mechanisms driving changes in Qinghai Lake's water surface area, providing insights into ecological shifts in lake systems against the backdrop of global warming, thereby offering valuable references for understanding and addressing these changes. Introduction: We aimed to modify the LR-5 strategy to improve the diagnostic sensitivity for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in high-risk patients while maintaining specificity. Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 412 patients with 445 liver observations who underwent preoperative gadolinium ethoxybenzyl DTPA (GD-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced MRI followed by surgical procedures or biopsies. All observations were classified according to LI-RADS v2018, and the classifications were adjusted by modifying major features (MF)(substituting threshold growth with a more HCC-specific ancillary features (AF): presence of blood products within the mass, arterial phase hyperenhancement (APHE) was interpreted with hypointensity on precontrast imaging- isointensity in arterial phase (AP) and extending washout to transitional phase (TP)(2 min)). The specificity, sensitivity, and positive predictive value (PPV) were assessed to compare LR-5 (definitely HCC) diagnostic efficacy between LI-RADS version 2018 and modified LI-RADS. Results: Apart from nonenhancing "capsule", the interreader agreement of MFs and HCC-specific AFs between the two readers reached substantial or excellent ranges (κ values ranging from 0.631 to 0.911). According to LI-5 v2018, the specificity, sensitivity and PPV of HCC were 90.74%, 82.35%, and 98.17%, respectively. Based on a more HCC-specific AF, signal intensity in AP and TP (2 min), the sensitivity of the three modified strategies were 86.19%, 93.09%, 96.67% (P <.05)), while maintaining high specificity and PPV rates at 88.89% and 98.25% (P >.05) Conclusion: Further investigation into the efficacy of threshold growth as a MF is warranted. By utilizing GD-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI, enhancing the sensitivity of the modified LR-5 category may be achieved without compromising specificity and PPV in diagnosing HCC among high-risk patients. This study aimed to assess the predictive capacity of emerging serological markers, serum HBV RNA and HBcrAg, for HBeAg seroconversion in children with HBeAg‐positive chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Treatment‐naïve HBeAg‐positive CHB children who admitted to the Liver Disease Center of Hunan Children's Hospital between April 2021 and September 2022 and received treatment with the combined entecavir and interferon‐alpha treatment were recruited. Serum HBV RNA and HBcrAg were measured at baseline and Weeks 12, 24, and 48 of treatment. Our study showed that serum HBV RNA (HR = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.56–0.91, p = 0.006), HBcrAg (HR = 0.60, 95% CI: 0.43–0.84, p = 0.003), and HBsAg (HR = 0.49, 95%CI: 0.36–0.69, p < 0.001) at Week 12 were independent predictors of HBeAg seroconversion. ROC curve analysis presented that serum HBV RNA decline value (ΔHBV RNA) at Week 36 and HBcrAg decline value (ΔHBcrAg) at Week 12 (AUC = 0.871, p = 0.003 and AUC = 0.810, p = 0.003, respectively) could effectively predict HBeAg seroconversion. Furthermore, the optimal critical values were determined and the children with ΔHBV RNA > 3.759 log10 copies/mL at Week 36 or ΔHBcrAg >0.350 log10 U/mL at Week 12 more likely to achieve HBeAg seroconversion. The serum HBV RNA and HBcrAg provide new insights into the treatment of CHB in children. Manipulators applied to polishing can avoid the harm of dust and noise to workers' health in manual polishing, and can significantly increase productivity. The degrees of freedom (DOF) of the existing end-effector for manipulator polishing is insufficient, and then it is difficult to adapt to complex surfaces. A passive compliant end-effector (PCEE) with 4-DOF employing pneumatic floating was designed to solve that problem in this article. According to the included angle between the floating spindle and the plunger, the supporting force functions of floating amount were constructed. Considering the characteristics of the supporting force and the operating modes comprehensively, an appropriate number of plungers was selected. Based on the equilibrium principle of spatial force system, a PCEE was designed by using the floating scheme at both ends, and then a physical model and a simplified model were provided. Eventually, the performances of 4-DOF PCEE are compared with those of the existing 2-DOF compliant end-effector (CEE). The results show that The PCEE can float with 4-DOF; when the number of plungers is 9, all performances meet the design requirements; the polishing force can adapt to the local bulges and overcome the error reflection; the 4-DOF PCEE can adaptively fit the surface to reduce its geometric error. The aim of this study was to investigate the regulatory role of zebrafish (Danio rerio) notch1a and notch1b genes on hsp70 by using a dual luciferase reporter gene assay. The CDS sequences of zebrafish notch1a and notch1b genes were obtained through NCBI database search, and their intracellular domains (Notchia/Notchib intracellular domain, N1aICD/N1bICD) were cloned. Eukaiyotic expression vectors, pCMV-N1aICD and pCMV-N1bICD, were constructed. The expressions of N1aICD and N1bICD were detected in human embryonic kidney cells (HEK293T) through Western Blot and subcellular localization. The zebrafish hsp70 promoter sequence was analyzed, cloned, and incorporated into the pGL3-hsp70-pro reporter gene, which was constructed and assayed for dual luciferase activity in HEK293T. Overexpression of notch1a and notch1b genes in HEK293T cells was performed, and changes in pGL3-hsp70-pro activity were detected using a dual-luciferase reporter gene assay. The results showed that the successful construction of eukaryotic expression vectors pCMV-N1aICD and pCMV-N1bICD. Western Blot analysis confirmed the normal expression of pCMV-N1aICD and pCMV-N1bICD, while the subcellular localization assay showed the normal expression in the nucleus of HEK293T cells. The dual-luciferase reporter gene showed that the pGL3-hsp70-pro reporter gene was active in HEK293T cells, exhibiting activity 3.7 times higher than that of the empty plasmid. Additionally, the pCMV-N1aICD and pCMV-N1bICD eukaryotic expression vectors significantly enhanced the activity of pGL3-hsp70-pro in HEK293T cells, showing increases of 4.9-fold and 5.1-fold compared to the control, respectively. The results indicated that zebrafish notch1a and notch1b genes play a substantial role in enhancing the expression of hsp70 gene. This provides experimental materials and a theoretical foundation for further investigation into the immune mechanism of Notch molecular in defense against infection and apoptosis through Hsp70.
