Three new compounds (1–3), were isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots of Solanum melongena L., together with twenty-seven knowns (4–30). On basis of their 1 D and 2 D NMR data, the chemical structures of islated compounds were elucidated combined with HR-MS and the relative values in literatures. In addition, the isolations were evaluated for the potential anti-inflammatory activity, by virtue of RAW 264.7 cells model induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS)in vitro inhibitory activities on nitric oxide (NO) production. This paper presents a magnetless nonreciprocal diplexing antenna that uses time modulation. The device combines the functions of diplexers, filters, isolators, and antennas in a highly integrated manner. The magnetless nonreciprocity response is achieved by applying time modulation to the resonators of the filtering structures. These resonators are implemented in quarter‐wavelength microstrip lines terminated with varactors that are time modulated by low‐frequency signals fed from Coplanar Waveguides built on the ground plane of the microstrip structure. A prototype multilayer patch antenna is fabricated, which is fed through two orthogonal feedlines and the radiating square patch is coupled by a square ring slot etched in the ground plane. The experimental results show that a gain of 4 dB, out‐of band rejection of 22 dB, in‐band isolation of 20 dB, and inter‐port isolation of 35 dB is obtained at both 1.5 GHz (lower band) and 1.8 GHz (higher band). Seven new glycosides (1–7) and seventeen known analogues (8–24) were isolated from the leaves of Datura metel L. The structures of these compounds were all elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analyses and comparison with literature values. All isolates were evaluated for cytotoxicity against Hela, MGC-803, Ishikawa cell lines and compounds 6, 7, 14–17 and 24 exhibited different degrees of antiproliferative effects. Two new alkaloids named Melongenamides H-I (1–2), together with twenty-one known compounds (3–23), were isolated from the 70% ethanol extract of the sepals of Solanum melongena L. A new sesquiterpenoid glycoside, consisting of one vetispirane-type, dmetelisproside A (1), together with two known megastigmane sesquiterpenoids, citroside A (2) and staphylionoside D (3) were isolated from the leaves of Datura metel L. The structures were determined by analysis of their MS and NMR data as well as by comparison with literature values. All isolates were evaluated for cytotoxicity toward SGC-7901, Hepg2, HeLa, MCF-7, and MDA-MB-231 cancer cell lines, and anti-inflammatory activity against nitric oxide (NO) in RAW 264.7 cells in vitro. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited pronounced cytotoxicity against SGC-7901 and HeLa cells with IC50 values in the range of 21.43 to 29.51 μm. All three compounds displayed potential effects against NO production with IC50 values of 31.10, 34.25, and 44.31 μm, respectively. Background: Identifying specific residues for protein-DNA interactions are of considerable importance to better recognize the binding mechanism of protein-DNA complexes. Despite the fact that many computational DNA-binding residue prediction approaches have been developed, there is still significant room for improvement concerning overall performance and availability. Results: Here, we present an efficient approach termed PDRLGB that uses a light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) to predict binding residues in protein-DNA complexes. Initially, we extract a wide variety of 913 sequence and structure features with a sliding window of 11. Then, we apply the random forest algorithm to sort the features in descending order of importance and obtain the optimal subset of features using incremental feature selection. Based on the selected feature set, we use a light gradient boosting machine to build the prediction model for DNA-binding residues. Our PDRLGB method shows better overall predictive accuracy and relatively less training time than other widely used machine learning (ML) methods such as random forest (RF), Adaboost and support vector machine (SVM). We further compare PDRLGB with various existing approaches on the independent test datasets and show improvement in results over the existing state-of-the-art approaches. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of an extracellular matrix scaffold with multilayer decellularized tendon slices (MDTSs) for reconstructing large rotator cuff tears in a rabbit model.Methods: Large defects in the infraspinatus tendons were created bilaterally in 36 rabbits. The graft group underwent bridging repair of the defects with the MDTSs grafts from Achilles tendons of adult beagle dogs, and the control group underwent repair with the autologous excised tendon. Specimens underwent histologic observation, biomechanical testing, and microcomputed tomography analysis at 2, 4, and 8 weeks after surgery.Results: Histologic analysis confirmed that the MDTSs graft promoted cell ingrowth and tissue integration, and fibrocartilage and Sharpey fibers formed at the enthesis at 8 weeks. Accordingly, the MDTSs graft generated a histologic appearance similar to that of the autogenous tendon graft. Mechanical testing revealed a significant increase of the regenerated tendons in ultimate load and stiffness from 4 to 8 weeks postoperatively, which was similar to autologous tendon repair. Microcomputed tomography analysis demonstrated that the MDTSs graft promoted bone formation at the tendon-bone insertion, thus improving the mechanical properties of the repair tendon.Conclusions: The MDTSs graft used to bridge large rotator cuff defects in a rabbit model promoted host cell ingrowth, enhanced the remodeling of regenerated tendon, and promoted fibrocartilage formation, thus improving the biomechanical properties of the repaired tendon. This study thereby provides fundamental information for rotator cuff regeneration with the MDTSs graft.Clinical Relevance: Rotator cuff regeneration using MDTSs grafts is a promising procedure for large rotator cuff tears.
