This study was performed to assess the impact of Naoxintong capsules combined with oral nutritional supplements on cardiac function and nutritional status in patients with coronary heart disease complicated by chronic heart failure. The control group received conventional heart failure treatment, Naoxintong capsules, and diet education treatment. The experimental group, however, also received oral nutritional supplements. After treatment, the total effective rate was higher in the experimental group than in the control group. Serum terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor, soluble ST2, and angiotensin II levels were lower in the experimental group than the control group. The left ventricular ejection fraction was higher, and the left ventricular end-systolic volume and left ventricular end-diastolic volume were lower in the experimental group than the control group. Serum albumin, prealbumin, and total protein levels were higher in the experimental group than the control group. The occurrence of adverse reactions and the Minnesota Living With Heart Failure Questionnaire score in the experimental group were lower than the control group. To sum up, Naoxintong capsules combined with oral nutritional supplements can promote cardiac function and nutritional status in patients with coronary heart disease complicated by chronic heart failure.
