Motivation: The paper presents basic issues related to a safety culture. It shows the explanation of terms 'culture' and 'organizational culture', which safety culture makes a part of. There is also presented a model of shaping of a safety culture. The empirical part presents the studies on the impact of an attitude and behaviour of employees on the development of safety culture based on the model of shaping of a safety culture. Aim: The aim of the study was to analyze an attitude and behaviour of employees and their impact on shaping of a safety culture in a given enterprise. Research tools were: interview, documentation, analysis and anonymous survey given to enterprise employees. Results: The study shows that majority of employees act in accordance with rules and try not to take risky actions, they also feel responsible for the safety of themselves and their co-workers; the environment and working conditions are in line with legal requirements, and accidents rarely occur. Patent strategy research has focused on the efficiency of licensing for investigation, analysis and utilization of application management, product and development task in finding patent idea, to establish patent strategy linked with management strategy and technology strategy. However, it is difficult to find the research on patent strategy that reflects an adaptive culture to enhance the internalization and performance of the established strategy. As a result, companies have been striving to imitate patent strategies of advanced companies that do not consider their industry and organizational culture. This study proposes a method of defining a firm 's patent strategy according to the competing value model that analyzes organizational culture as four frameworks. This study verifies the classification method through case studies, suggests a suitable patent strategy for the patent strategy type. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the demographic structure of the branch teachers and their schools and the aspects of these school cultures. The research was carried out with 237 branch teachers in the middle schools located on the district of Fatih, Istanbul. In this research the data has been collected and evaluated by means of "the scale of the school culture" developed by Ali Rıza TERZİ. According to the teachers genders it ranges as 148 of female, 89 of male. T- Test has been used for comparing the continuous data between the two independent sample groups. As for the other independent groups which are more than two, the one way ANOVA test has been used. In addition to these Scheffe test has been used as a supplement Post-hoc analysis. According to the results of this research the aspect of "Duty Culture"s frequency rate was higher comparing to other cultures.It hasn't been found any important difference between school culture dimensions ant gender factor in the research conducted.It has been found impotant differences between school culture dimensions with age and working factor in the same school. In its over two hundred year existence, the U.S. Marine Corps has undergone many serious changes such as the admission of women and Blanks into its ranks. The most current change is open acceptance of lesbians, gays and bisexuals (LGB) as U.S. Marines and is referred to as the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT). This article examines the way in which a large organization, such as the U.S. Marine Corps, implements an enormous change and the role that organization culture plays in the success or failure of the implementation. Cameron and Quinn's Competing Values framework is used to explain the theory behind implementing this major change and how this moment in the Marine Corps' process can afford researcher great insight into the power and influence of organization culture. Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) Limited was incorporated in 1953 by the Government of India as a machine tool manufacturing company. In the later years, the company diversified into other products including watches. Its watch division, known as the HMT Watches Limited, started in 1961 with the support of Japan's Citizen Watch Company. Over the years, HMT made tremendous progress in all business dimensions to emerge as a market leader in the Indian watch industry. The company also earned the reputation of 'the time keeper of the nation' for its profound impact on the country's watch business. Hindustan Machine Tools established itself as a strong brand in the Indian market. However, post-liberalization in 1991, HMT's performance started dwindling. The policies of liberalization, privatization and globalization paved the way for the entry of many private brands, both domestic and foreign, into the Indian watch market that became hyper-competitive. The HMT management did not show enough agility to make necessary changes in its business models to cope with the changing business environment. Gradually, HMT lost its numero uno position to Titan Watches of the Tata Group. Hindustan Machine Tools inability to understand the needs of modern-day customers and its less-thanadequate attention towards new product development made things even worse for the organization. With losses accumulating over the years, HMT became financially unviable. After several failed attempts to turn around, the government finally closed down HMT Watches in early 2016. With this, HMT became a brand of the bygone era. This case portrays the long and eventful journey of HMT Watches and then analyzes the major reasons behind its failure. The purpose of the research are: 1) To know description for working environment, organization culture, and job satisfaction at Bank BTN (Persero) cabang Bekasi. 2) to test the influence of working organization towards job satisfaction at Bank BTN (Persero) cabang Bekasi. 3) to test tthe influence of organization culture towards job satisfaction at Bank BTN (Persero) cabang Bekasi. 4) to test the influence of working environment and organization culture towards job satisfaction at Bank BTN (Persero) cabang Bekasi. The analysis implemented in this research are simple regression and multiple regression analysis. The method of this research is simple random sampling, that taken 55 Operational Division employee at Transaction Process Division, Loan Administration Division, and General Administration Division, while data collecting by using questionnaire and cultivated using SPSS 19.0. The result of t test for working environment is 2.123, and the signification is 0.038. This shows that there is an effect between working environment toward job satisfaction. The result of t test for organization culture is -2.160 ,and the signification is 0.035 This shows that there is an effect between organization culture toward job satisfaction. The result of F test is 5.798, and the signification is 0.005. This shows that there is an effect between working environment and organization culture toward job satisfaction. The result of R2 is 0.182 or 18,2%. It means Job Satisfaction is affected by working environment and organization culture as much as 18,2%.

Teacher’s performance is the main key of school organization’s success. As the key, teachers’ genuineness is highlighted to be the most demanding of the school operations. They are actors, patrons, front liner workers, and models for the future. It shows that the role of teachers is the center of school operations. In the same situations, school operations are affected by school culture and quality management practices that enhance the teachers to do their duties properly. Teachers’ performances are tied to the culture and total quality management practices of the schools. The purpose of this research is to elaborate the relationships between implementation of total quality management practices, organizational culture and teacher’s performance. The research results indicate that there is a strong relationship between total quality management practices and teacher’s performance. Also there is a moderate relationship between organizational culture and teacher’s performance. While the relationship between total quality management and oganizationa culture is moderate relationship. Both total quality management practices and organizational culture positively and significantly affect teacher’s performance.

In the year 1998-2010, PT XYZ have faced a tough business challenges. Therefore PT XYZ have establish a new strategic direction to ensure sustainable growth in long term period. Either one of that strategic is to develop high performance culture as enabler to achieve it’s vision in 2020. However currently, PT XYZ have not had a comprehensive design how to develop organization culture. So the porpuse of this studi to describe the dominant culture type in both current and preferred situation as weel as by good right culture type which is aligned with the executives talent in PT XYZ. This study based on the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) built upon a theoretical model called the “Competing Values Framework”. This framework refers to whether an organization has predominant internal or external focus and whether it strives for flexibility or stability. Moreover, the purpose of the OCAI is to assess six key dimensions of organization culture. The results of this study showed that current organization culture is Hierarchy which is driven by efficiency, consistency and uniformity values. However, the preferred or the should be organization culture is Market which is driven by goal achievement and competitiveness values. Fortunately, the PT XYZ’s executive talent have align with preferred culture so that it can ease to develop new organization culture. Several initiatives can be purposed to manage the change of the corporate culture. The initiatives consist of leadership role alignment, consistent communication, improve employees capability and optimize systems and procedures.

Job satisfaction as one of the important variables being studied in organization treatment, is a subject to which the managers of the organizations pay special attention in a way that it is considered as the final goal for the managers in organization behavior issues. Considering the organization culture variant as a crucial and effective factor on job satisfaction, the general purpose of the current research is to study the relation between organization culture and job satisfaction of the employees in Iran's National Company of Distribution of Petroleum Products in the district of Mazandaran Province. A statistical society of 420 of this company was considered in order to respond to the problem of existence and intensity of the relation between the two variants being studied. Accordingly, along with a comprehensive review of the subjective literature relating to the organization culture and job satisfaction, 235 cases as statistical samples were selected among the above mentioned statistical society. Then, in the form of field and library research, necessary data and information were collected by using the questionnaire and SPSS software and Lisrel software were also used in order to perform the related statistical tests to study the affectivity between the organization culture and job satisfaction of the employees in the National Company of Distribution of Petroleum Products. The result of the research shows that the totality of the affectivity of organization culture factors on the job satisfaction of the personnel of National Company of Distribution of Petroleum Products in Mazandaran Province is admitted based on the structural equations, and the variables of Organization Identity and Relation Model have been the most effective factors on the personnel satisfaction. On the other hand compromise or conflict and manager support (or protections were the least effective factors.

Abstract This research deals with the investigating the relationship between organization culture and corporate social responsibility (CSR). (Case Study: Energy Ministry). In this paper, the above-mentioned research split in two parts. First, issues regarding organization culture and organization culture management, then effects of organization culture’s stabilization on corporate social responsibility. The questionnaires list regarding organization culture derivated from Baron and Greenberg’s model and the questionnaires list regarding corporate social responsibility derivated from Denison’s model and necessary correct nesses exerted by interview with professors and some experts. The main effective criteria are achieved by exploratory studies and focus group interviews with experts. A questionnaire designed and distributed among a random sample of customers. Some related hypothesizes are tested and the results have been discussed. The issue of ethical behavior in Public Accountant Firms has received much attention in recent years. This research combines individual factors which includes emotional quotient, spiritual quotient and external factors as well as organization culture to predict and explain the auditors ethical behavior in Public Accountant Firms. The use of questionnaire instrument is adapted from Goleman (2005), Zohar & Marshall (2002), Robbins (2006), Arens, Loebbecke (1986). Population in this research is 49 auditors in East Java, as listed in the Directory of Public Accountant 2009. The results, which are based on multiple regression analysis, indicate that emotional quotient, spiritual quotient and organization culture increase auditors ethical behavior by 53,8%, while the remainder 46,2% is explained by other variables out of this model. Based on t analysis, spiritual quotient and organization culture have significant impacts on auditors’ ethical behavior. On the other hand, emotional quotient does not have significant effect on auditors’ ethical behavior. Future research is expected to extend area coverage, and use additional instrument to gain better insight for auditors’ ethical behavior. This research proposes that auditors’ ethical behavior could be improved so that audit profession could fulfill the ‘pillars of integrity’.

The intrinsic motivational aspects that improve the psychological well-being of health practitioners have been usurped by an insulated reliance on financial incentives and other external factors. This paper examines issues pertinent to the motivation of doctors in the healthcare system in Malaysia. The article also attempts to identify problem areas that could benefit from interventions focusing on intrinsic motivation. Financial incentives and the deterioration in intrinsic motivation levels partly influence the exodus of healthcare workers from public healthcare organizations to private practice. A multidimensional approach is required to improve intrinsic motivation amongst healthcare workers. Leadership strength, organizational citizenship, modification of job design, career management, and a democratized work environment are seen as crucial factors to remedy work morale in healthcare systems. This intervention study examines the iterative reprocessing of explicit and implicit attitudes as the process underlying associations between positive employee attitudes (PsyCap), perception of positive organization culture (organizational virtuousness, OV), and work happiness. Using a quasi-experimental design, a group of school staff (N = 69) completed surveys at three time points. After the first assessment, the treatment group (n = 51) completed a positive psychology training intervention. Results suggest that employee PsyCap, OV, and work happiness are associated with one another through both implicit and explicit attitudes. Further, the Iterative-Reprocessing Model of attitudes (IRM) provides some insights into the processes underlying these associations. By examining the role and processes through which explicit and implicit attitudes relate to wellbeing at work, the study integrates theories on attitudes, positive organizational scholarship, positive organizational behavior and positive education. It is one of the first studies to apply the theory of the IRM to explain associations amongst PsyCap, OV and work happiness, and to test the IRM theory in a field-based setting. In applying attitude theory to wellbeing research, this study provides insights to mechanisms underlying workplace wellbeing that have not been previously examined and in doing so responds to calls for researchers to learn more about the mechanisms underlying wellbeing interventions. Further, it highlights the need to understand subconscious processes in future wellbeing research and to include implicit measures in positive psychology interventions measurement programs. Practically, this research calls attention to the importance of developing both the positive attitudes of employees and the organizational culture in developing employee work happiness. Background & Aim: Moral courage is a virtue that helps people overcome their fears and limitations and make the right decision and take the right action when encountering any situations. Due to the nature of their profession, nurses daily face many moral issues, and their correct decisions and performances require moral courage. The aim of this study was to determine the moral courage of nurses employed in hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Methods & Materials: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in 2015. The research population was composed of nurses employed in hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The study samples were 155 people. The moral courage questionnaire of Sekerka and colleagues (2009) was used to collect the data. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t-test and one-way ANOVA on the SPSS software v.22. Results: The mean score of moral courage of nurses was 63.72±5.91 (15-75). The highest and lowest mean scores were for the dimensions of moral agency (13.73±1.22) and endures threats (11.40±1.80) respectively. The work experiences of nurses had a significant positive relationship with moral courage and beyond compliance (P<0.05). Conclusion: In this study, moral courage of nurses was at a desirable level. According to the findings, while taking steps to strengthen this virtue, we could strengthen nurses' moral reasoning to make right decisions and perform ethical practices. The article presents information on the mixed-method time-series study on the effect of the Primary Nursing (PN) Model on organizational culture improvement. Topics include the conduct of the study at a community hospital in Piemonte, Italy, the use of the Condition of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire (CWEQ II), and the dimensions of empowerment such as access to opportunity, access to resources, and access to support.

Employee psychological capital (PsyCap), perceptions of organizational virtue (OV), and work happiness have been shown to be associated within and over time. This study examines selective exposure and confirmation bias as potential processes underlying PsyCap, OV, and work happiness associations. As part of a quasi-experimental study design, school staff (N = 69) completed surveys at three time points. After the first assessment, some staff (n = 51) completed a positive psychology training intervention. Results of descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses on the intervention group provide some support for selective exposure and confirmation bias as explanatory mechanisms. In focusing on the processes through which employee attitudes may influence work happiness this study advances theoretical understanding, specifically of selective exposure and confirmation bias in a field study context. This authors present findings of research exploring the relationships between government and philanthropy in Israel. The main findings indicate a gradual change, from the previously strained relationships between the two towards an accepting and collaborative approach, resulting in the development of innovative and creative social, economic, and educational initiatives. This change is a result of the 'Interfacing Round Tables' which serve as the vehicle for creating a dialogue between the government, the business sector, and nonprofit organizations. Nevertheless, there is still a perceived ideological and cultural gap that must be bridged in order to achieve the added value of collaboration for the benefit of clients and citizens. Recent experience indicate that it isn`t sufficient for management just to rely on how efficient is the process of managing. It needs a new instrument, Good Cooperate Governance (GCG), to prove that the management is going well. This concept emphasize on two important things, that is : first, the right of shareholder to be provided of right and just on time information, and second, the obligation of company to disclose accurately, just on time, and transparently all information of company`s performance, shareholders, and stakeholders. Various studies by national and international researchers proved the lack of understanding the importance and strategic implication of applying GCG principles by Indonesian entrepreneur. Besides, organization culture also influencing GCG application in Indonesia. Diperlukan instrumen baru, Good Corporate Governance (GCG) untuk memastikan bahwa manajemen berjalan dengan baik. Ada dua hal yang ditekankan dalam konsep ini, pertama, pentingnya hak pemegang saham untuk memperoleh informasi dengan benar dan tepat pada waktunya dan, kedua, kewajiban perusahaan untuk melakukan pengungkapan (disclosure) secara akurat, tepat waktu, dan transparan terhadap semua informasi kinerja perusahaan, kepemilikan, dan stakeholder. Dari berbagai hasil pengkajian yang dilakukan oleh berbagai lembaga riset independen nasional dan internasional, menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman terhadap arti penting dan strategisnya penerapan prinsip-prinsip GCG oleh pelaku bisnis di Indonesia. The purpose of this researched is to find out how big is the effect of organization culture to ward motivation, job satisfaction and employee's job performance, especially on the employee's in the production area. The analytical unit is the employee's in production area sub sector in wood industry in East Java. The more positive someone's behavior will definitely effect her/his performance, this is proven when the researcher tested the hypothesis that motivation effects the job satisfaction and job satisfaction effects the performance. The result of the direct effect on employee's motivation toward job satisfaction is 1.462,and toward performance is 0.387, the direct effet job satisfaction toward job performance is 0.003, the direct effect organization culture toward job performance is 0.506, the direct effect organization culture toward motivation is 0.680, the direct effect organization culture toward job satisfaction is 1.183. Beside, this research result is useful for the next researchers, as research material in organitional behavior science or the same kind of science. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memenemukan bagaimana besarnya pengaruh Budaya Organisasi terhadap Motivasi, Kepuasan Kerja dan Kinerja karyawan khususnya karyawan dibagian produksi. Unit analisisnya adalah karyawan produksi pada subsektor industri pengolahan kayu di Jawa Timur. Secara positif perilaku seseorang akan berpengaruh terhadap kinerjanya, disamping itu peneliti menguji hipotesis bahwa motivasi berpengaruh kepada kepuasan kerja dan kepuasan kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja. Hasilnya bahwa secara langsung motivasi berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan kerja sebesar 1.462 dan motivasi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sebesar 0.387, kepuasan kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sebesar 0,003 dan budaya organisasi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sebesar 0.506, budaya organisasi berpengaruh terhadap motivasi sebesar 0.680 dan budaya organisasi berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan kerja sebesar 1.183. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan oleh peneliti berikutnya, sebagai bahan penelitian pada bidang ilmu pengetahuan perilaku organisasi atau ilmu pengetahuan yang sejenisnya. The objective of this research is to find out these following maters: the influence of organization culture toward the organization performance, the influence of organization performance toward employee satisfaction, the influence of organization toward customer satisfaction and the indirect influence of organization culture toward working satisfaction in organization culture;. This research uses survey, sampling method and questioners as the tools in collecting the main data. This research is conducted in several main terminal offices, namely Purabaya, Tambak Oso Wolangun, Jotoboyo and Bratang. Structural Equation Medeling (SEM) is used to analyze the variables by using AMOS 4.0 software. This research shows these following results: there is a significant influence of organozation culture toward organization performances, there is a significant influence of organization performances toward employee satisfaction, there is a significant influence of organization culture toward customer satisfaction, and there is no direct influence of organization culture, based on organization performances, toward employee satisfaction. By understanding the variables that influences the terminal performances, the stakeholders can use the information to increase the income of the terminal as well as improving the services toward community. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh budaya organisasi terhadap kinerja organisasi, kinerja organisasi terhadap kepuasan karyawan, budaya organisasi terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan, pengaruh tidak langsung budaya organisasi terhadap kepuasan kerja dalam kinerja organisasi. Penelitin ini menggunakan metode survey, sample dan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data utama. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di kantor-kantor pusat terminal Purabaya, Tambak Oso Wilangun, Joyoboyo dan Bratang. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) dipakai untuk menganalisa model dengan bantuan program AMOS 4.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh signifikan dari budaya organisasi terhadap kinerja organisasi, ada pengaruh signifikan dari kinerja organisasi terhadap karyawan, ada pengaruh signifikan dari budaya organisasi terhadap kepuasan pelanggan, tidak ada pengaruh langsung dari budaya organisasai yang diarahkan pada kinerja organisasi terhadap kepuasan karyawan. Dengan mamahami variabel yang berpengaruh pada trminal, pihak terkait akan bisa menggunakan hasil tersebut untuk meningkatkan penghasilan terminal dan menyempurnakan layanan kepada masyarakat. Article discusses factors that influences college management performance, those are technology and information system, quality management system, and organization culture. The research is done by using Pearson correlation method, linear regression, and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) using cartesius diagram. Based on correlation test, there are only two out of three variables having significance correlation with performance management, that are quality management system and organization culture.

In recent years, perceptions of performance and quality of healthcare organizations have begun to move beyond examining the provision of excellent clinical care, alone, and to consider and embrace the patient experience as an important indicator. There is a need to determine the extent to which clear and formal definitions exist, have common overarching themes, and/or have unique, but important constructs that should be considered more widely. In this article, we provide a 14-year synthesis of existing literature and other sources (2000-2014) that have been used to define patient experience. A total of 18 sources (articles or organizational websites) were identified that provided a tangible, explicit definition of patient experience. A narrative synthesis was undertaken to categorize literature (and other sources) according to constructs of the definitions provided. The objectives of the synthesis were to: (1) identify the key elements, constructs, and themes that were commonly and frequently cited in existing definitions of ‘patient experience,’ (2) summarize these findings into what might be considered a common shared definition, and (3) identify important constructs that may be missing from and may enhance existing definition(s). The overarching premise was to identify and promote a working definition of patient experience that is applicable and practical for research, quality improvement efforts, and general clinical practice. Our findings identified several concepts and recommendations to consider with regard to the definition of patient experience. First, the patient experience reflects occurrences and events that happen independently and collectively across the continuum of care. Also, it is important to move beyond results from surveys, for example those that specifically capture concepts such as ‘patient satisfaction,’ because patient experience is more than satisfaction alone. Embedded within patient experience is a focus on individualized care and tailoring of services to meet patient needs and engage them as partners in their care. Next, the patient experience is strongly tied to patients’ expectations and whether they were positively realized (beyond clinical outcomes or health status). Finally, the patient experience is integrally tied to the principles and practice of patient- and family- centered care. As patient experience continues to emerge as an important focus area across healthcare globally, the need for a standard consistent definition becomes even more evident, making it critical to ensure patient experience remains a viable, respected, and highly embraced part of the healthcare conversation. Purpose – Prior research has argued that business practices within English football clubs are amateurish and outdated due to the comparatively small size of clubs and the restrictive nature of the cartel-like industry they compete in. But is this true for large EPL clubs (i.e. those with high market valuation and large number of employees)? Do these clubs have the ability to pursue alternative business strategies, and if so, do their organizational structures, cultures, and behavioral norms support the strategic directions they have chosen to pursue? The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – This paper evaluates survey responses from 35 executives and business managers within three large EPL clubs. The study utilizes previously validated scales to examine issues of organizational structure, culture, and behavioral norms. Findings – Despite operating within a closed industry, large EPL clubs are not all pursuing identical business strategies. Consistent with contingency theory, the organizational structure, culture, and behavioral norms of large EPL clubs are, for the most part, in line with what the authors would expect to find in successful, large conventional product or service businesses. However, all of the clubs included in this study appear to be following hybrid models each demonstrating characteristics of several alternative competitive strategies simultaneously. Research limitations/implications – This initial study is limited to responses from 35 business executives and managers within three EPL clubs. Practical implications – Although EPL clubs operate within a cartel-like industry, this study shows that business managers within these clubs do have a degree of latitude in choosing between alternative competitive strategies. In order to successfully implement a chosen strategy, business managers must insure that the organizational structure, culture, and behavioral norms within the club’s business group are aligned with the overarching objectives of that strategic choice. Originality/value – Grounded in open systems and contingency theory, the authors challenge the conventional wisdom that because large clubs are in the business of sport they are somehow fundamentally different from other large businesses. The human factor plays a decisive role in most accidents, but the problems caused by them are still unresolved. Understanding safety culture will help the industry to allocate safety resources and improve occupational health and safety performance. The paper presents an overview of the main existing triad models. The models in this paper can be used to illustrate components of the system, psychological elements of the people in the system and their individual and collective behaviours in terms of system performance. Some models describe 'components' of culture, others attempt to explain the relationship between safety culture and outcomes, and some models in the area describe the factors that interact to cause workplace safety incidents. ABSTRACT This paper investigates the relationships between the scores of 109 Japanese corporations found in the NIKKEI environmental management ranking survey and the corporate culture of each firm. Corporate culture is measured with the instrument developed by Cameron and Quinn (2006). The instrument measures corporate culture in terms of four categories: clan culture, adhocracy culture, hierarchy culture, and market culture. The results indicate that adhocracy culture has statistically significant positive relationships with the management system, product development, and climate change mitigation aspects of environmental management or sustainability management. Excessive hierarchy culture has a negative relationship with the overall score of environmental management. The objective of this paper is to contribute to the discourse about the issues of trust in management, authority and meaningfulness of human labour, which are inseparably connected with effectiveness, productivity, competitiveness of companies, organizations and the whole society as well. The authors want to provide a conceptual theoretical framework for further studies of social deviance in organizational culture, and that is why it has a form of a theoretical study providing a platform for future empirical researches. This study is opened with defining the concept of social deviance as a deviation from the normality and by reminding of difficulties related to determination of normality. The organizational culture is defined as a coherent set of values, norms and patterns of behaviour that determine the manners and forms of behaviour of employees, their relationships inside (but also outside) the social system of the organization. Further, the paper is focused on selected social deviances, which undermine the effectiveness of organizational structures to fulfil their objectives and missions. Based on the empirical analyses, the attention is paid particularly to nepotism, clientelism and cronyism as tools for reaching latent goals of individuals and groups in the organization. The issue is set in the contemporary society and solved from the view of social psychological mechanisms of human behaviour in the group. The authors also remind the issue of responsibility, conscience and the negative effects of conformity, group thinking, obedience and the authoritarian leadership, which is even more obvious when the employees are under the pressure (e.g. economic sanctions). In conclusion are outlined the tools of control of clientelism and similar phenomena, and possibilities of applications of Weber's socio-analytical model of bureaucracy in organizations. As organization citizenship has established itself in the study of organization behaviour there has been a growing interest in trying to understand this proactive behaviour among academics and practitioners alike. The benefits of organization citizenship behaviour in increasing the effective functioning of organizations and to minimize the controlling and monitoring of the organization has created an interest to investigate how can this behaviour be prompted among its employees. This research has incorporated organization culture, leadership, organization justice and organization commitment and tested hypotheses on the relationship to investigate which of these factors are related to organization citizenship behaviour. Organization commitment was investigated as a mediating factor in this research. The theoretical background if this research was derived from literatures on organization behaviour. The target respondents were academics from private higher learning institutions in Malaysia which was done through mail questionnaire survey. Data was collected from 324 academics in private higher learning institutions in Malaysia. The study found that organization commitment was a mediating a factor among organization culture, leadership, organization justice to influence organization citizenship behaviour. Organization culture, leadership and organization justice was related to organization commitment. The research also concluded that organization commitment was related to organization citizenship behaviour. The research concluded that organization commitment is a mediating factor to influence employees in an organization to exhibit this proactive behaviour to increase the effective functioning of the organization. The empirical results of the research provided the support for the above findings. It also provides a basic framework on how organizations can practice and create the appropriate framework in an organization to enable them to reap the benefits of organization citizenship behaviour among its employees.
