201. Análisis comparativo en la respuesta lineal de sistemas estructurales muro-pórtico representativos de Bucaramanga incorporando interacción suelo estructura

Abstract: El presente artículo evalúo la influencia de la Interacción Suelo – Estructura (ISE) en la respuesta estructural lineal de sistemas muro-pórtico regulares representativos de Bucaramanga-Colombia utilizando el enfoque de subestructura propuesto por Winkler. Se recopiló información de sistemas locales existentes utilizando base de datos oficiales. Mediante el diseño de experimentos factorial 22, se crearon nueve edificios artificiales con diferentes tipos de suelo y número de pisos. Estos edificios fueron diseñados y detallados bajo la idealización de base fija, siguiendo la normativa sismorresistente local. Se llevaron a cabo análisis incluyendo y excluyendo la ISE. Los resultados revelaron que la ISE tuvo influencia significativa en la respuesta lineal de las estructuras ubicadas en zonas de amenaza sísmica alta, presentando variación en el periodo fundamental, cambio en la respuesta modal, incremento de derivas y disminución en el cortante de base. Además, se encontró que también afecta el método de análisis utilizado para el diseño.

Abstract: Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most frequent malignancy worldwide and has a high mortality rate related to late diagnosis. Although the gold standard for the GC diagnosis is endoscopy with biopsy, nonetheless, it is not cost-effective and is invasive for the patient. The Human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) molecule is a checkpoint of the immune response. Its overexpression in cancer is associated with immune evasion, metastasis, poor prognosis, and lower overall survival. We evaluate the plasma levels of soluble HLA-G, (sHLA-G) in patients with GC and benign gastric pathologies using an ELISA test. A higher concentration of sHLA-G in patients with GC than in those with benign pathologies, higher levels of plasma sHLA-G in women with GC compared with men and significant differences in the sHLA-G levels between the benign gastric pathologies evaluated, was our main findings. As no significant differences were found between the GC assessed stages in our study population, we suggest that sHLA-G is not an adequate marker for staging GC, but it does have diagnostic potential. In addition to providing information on the potential of sHLA-G as a diagnostic marker for GC, our study demonstrate that HLA-G molecules can be found in the membrane of exosomes, which highlights the need to perform studies with a larger number of samples to explore the functional implications of HLA-G positive exosomes in the context of gastric cancer, and to determine the clinical significance and possible applications of these findings in the development of non-invasive diagnostic methods.

Abstract: In this paper, we present the SafeSpace prototype for a safety warning system, dedicated to the electron radiation-belt-induced internal charging hazard aboard spacecraft. The space weather tool relies on a synergy of physical models associated in a chain that covers the whole Sun–interplanetary-space–Earth's inner magnetosphere medium. With the propagation of uncertainties along the modelling pipeline, the safety prototype provides a global nowcast and forecast (within a 4 d lead time) of the electron radiation belt dynamic as well as tailored indicators for space industry operators. They are meant to inform the users about the severity of the electron space environment via a three-coloured alarm system, which sorts the index intensity according to a representative historical distribution of in situ data. The system was tested during the challenging 2015 St Patrick's Day storm in order to assess its performance. It showed overall good nowcasting and forecasting capabilities due to its broad physics-driven pipeline.

204. Comparación del desempeño económico entre empresas industriales alimentarias certificadas y no certificadas con la norma ISO 9001

Abstract: En el Perú, existe un número reducido de compañías acreditadas con la Certificación Internacional de Calidad ISO 9001; se desconoce si esta norma contribuye en el desempeño económico de dichas empresas. Por ello, la investigación tuvo como objetivo comparar los resultados financieros entre empresas industriales alimentarias que cuentan con la Certificación ISO 9001 respecto de las que no. Para tal efecto, se realizó la prueba no paramétrica de comparación de medianas U de Mann-Whitney, debido a que los datos analizados no se ajustaban a la distribución normal. Como principal hallazgo se obtuvo que no existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre los resultados financieros de ambos grupos; sin embargo, específicamente en el indicador de rotación de activos, las empresas que han implementado los lineamientos de la norma internacional de calidad, en promedio, convierten sus activos en efectivo un mayor número de veces.

205. Influence of scat ageing on the gut microbiome: how old is too old?

Abstract: Abstract Background The study of the host-microbiome by the collection of non-invasive samples has the potential to become a powerful tool for conservation monitoring and surveillance of wildlife. However, multiple factors can bias the quality of data recovered from scats, particularly when field-collected samples are used given that the time of defecation is unknown. Previous studies using scats have shown that the impact of aerobic exposure on the microbial composition is species-specific, leading to different rates of change in microbial communities. However, the impact that this aging process has on the relationship between the bacterial and fungal composition has yet to be explored. In this study, we measured the effects of time post-defecation on bacterial and fungal compositions in a controlled experiment using scat samples from the endangered koala (Phascolarctos cinereus). Results We found that the bacterial composition remained stable through the scat aging process, while the fungal composition did not. The absence of an increase in facultative anaerobes and the stable population of obligate anaerobic bacteria were likely due to our sampling from the inner portion of the scat. We report a cluster of fungal taxa that colonises scats after defecation which can dilute the genetic material from the autochthonous mycoflora and inhibit recovery. Conclusion We emphasize the need to preserve the integrity of scat samples collected in the wild and combat the effects of time and provide strategies for doing so.

206. Subclinical hearing loss associated with aging

Abstract: Objective: Contribute to clarifying the existence of subclinical hearing deficits associated with aging. Design: In this work, we study and compare the auditory perceptual and electrophysiological performance of normal-hearing young and adult subjects (tonal audiometry, high-frequency tone threshold, a triplet of digits in noise, and click-evoked auditory brainstem response). Study sample: 45 normal hearing volunteers were evaluated and divided into two groups according to age. 27 subjects were included in the “young group” (mean 22.1 years), and 18 subjects (mean 42.22 years) were included in the “adult group.” Results: In the perceptual tests, the adult group presented significantly worse tonal thresholds in the high frequencies (12 and 16 kHz) and worse performance in the digit triplet tests in noise. In the electrophysiological test using the auditory brainstem response technique, the adult group presented significantly lower I and V wave amplitudes and higher V wave latencies at the supra-threshold level. At the threshold level, we observed a significantly higher latency in wave V in the adult group. In addition, in the partial correlation analysis, controlling for the hearing level, we observed a relationship (negative) between age and speech in noise performance and high-frequency thresholds. No significant association was observed between age and the auditory brainstem response. Conclusion: The results are compatible with subclinical hearing loss associated with aging.

Abstract: Abstract Results are presented from a search for CP violation in top quark pair production, using proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The data used for this analysis consist of final states with two charged leptons collected by the CMS experiment, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb −1. The search uses two observables, O $$ \mathcal{O} $$ 1 and O $$ \mathcal{O} $$ 3, which are Lorentz scalars. The observable O $$ \mathcal{O} $$ 1 is constructed from the four-momenta of the charged leptons and the reconstructed top quarks, while O $$ \mathcal{O} $$ 3 consists of the four-momenta of the charged leptons and the b quarks originating from the top quarks. Asymmetries in these observables are sensitive to CP violation, and their measurement is used to determine the chromoelectric dipole moment of the top quark. The results are consistent with the expectation from the standard model.

Material y métodos: Estudio observacional descriptivo con intención analítica y enfoque en determinantes sociales de la salud, realizado en una cohorte de gestantes confirmadas con sífilis gestacional, afiliadas activas a una aseguradora en el Valle del Cauca entre 2015 y 2020, se realizaron análisis exploratorios por frecuencias absolutas y relativas, análisis bivariados con tablas de contingencia empleando la prueba de chi cuadrado y análisis multivariado de regresión logística. Resultados: Se encontró mayor volumen de casos de SG en mujeres residentes de la zona urbana, del régimen subsidiado, de estrato socioeconómico uno o dos y de grupos poblacionales vulnerables como desplazadas, en condición carcelaria y residente en los municipios de Cali y el distrito de Buenaventura. Conclusiones: los determinantes estructurales e intermedios que incrementan la probabilidad de desenlace de SC fueron las gestantes del régimen subsidiado, área rural, de etnias indígena y ROM (gitanos), de estrato socioeconómico 2, con diagnóstico tardío, que no asistieron a los controles prenatales, sin pruebas de tamizaje, sin tratamiento propio ni de contactos, residentes en municipios alejados de la capital y con mayor tasa de mortalidad infantil.

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing pediatric HCP clinical decision-making when switching between amino acid formulas (AAF) for managing cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) in infants under 24 months of age during an unprecedented national formula shortage.MethodsThe study included pediatric HCPs with experience managing CMPA in infants and toddlers under 24 months during the formula shortage from January 2022 to November 2022. A de-identified survey comprising 26 questions examining driving factors used in clinical decision-making was administered to pediatric HCPs using a real-time mobile data collection tool.ResultsAmong the surveyed pediatric HCPs (n = 75), the factors most frequently considered as “extremely important” when switching to another AAF included safety (85%), tolerability (73%), and efficacy (83%). No statistically significant differences were found in HCP ratings among the listed examined factors of the four AAFs. Abstract: The present article describes the protocol of a mixed-methods study (an observational cohort design and focus groups), aimed to examine neuropsychological functioning and other biopsychosocial outcomes, therapeutic adherence and unmet care needs in paediatric population undergoing solid organ or allogeneic hematopoietic transplant during the pre- and post-transplant phases. Following a multi-method/multi-source approach, neuropsychological domains will be comprehensively measured with objective tests (SDMT, K-CPT 2/CPT 3, TAVECI/TAVEC, WISC-V/WAIS-IV Vocabulary and Digit Span subtests, Verbal Fluency tests, Stroop, ROCF, and TONI-4); ecological executive functioning, affective and behavioral domains, pain intensity/interference, sleep quality and therapeutic adherence will be assessed through questionnaires (parent/legal guardians-reported: BRIEF-2 and BASC-3; and self-reported: BASC-3, BPI, PROMIS, AIQ and SMAQ); and blood levels of prescribed drugs will be taken from each patient’s medical history. These outcomes will be measured at pre-transplant and at 4-weeks and 6-months post-transplant phases. The estimated sample size was 60 patients (any type of transplant, solid organ, or hematopoietic) from La Paz University Hospital (Madrid, Spain). Finally, three focus group sessions will be organized with patients, parents/guardians, and transplant clinicians (n = 15, with 5 participants per group), in order to qualitatively identify unmet care needs during the pre-, and post-transplant stages of the process. Abstract: El Grupo de Acción Financiera Internacional es un ente intergubernamental encargado de fijar estándares y promover la implementación de medidas legales, regulatorias y operativas para combatir el lavado de activos, el financiamiento del terrorismo y el financiamiento de la proliferación y otras amenazas a la integridad del sistema financiero internacional. Las Recomendaciones del GAFI constituyen un esquema de medidas que no tienen carácter jurídicamente vinculante, por lo que son un claro ejemplo de soft law. Sin embargo, en sus más de tres décadas de creado, el GAFI ha logrado incrementar el número de jurisdicciones o territorios comprometidos con la aplicación de sus estándares. Si bien el soft law no es obligatorio, sino un elemento más que los estados pueden considerar en sus decisiones judiciales, legislativas o administrativas, dichas Recomendaciones se caracterizan por su capacidad de producir efectos jurídicos que varían dependiendo del grado de compromiso. En este sentido, este artículo se propone como objetivo general evaluar las Recomendaciones del GAFI a la luz del soft law.

216. Unveiling the Interplanetary Solar Radio Bursts of the 2024 Mother’s Day Solar Storm

Abstract: We report on a comprehensive study of interplanetary type III radio bursts linked to X-class solar flares from NOAA active region 13664, which instigated the intense 2024 Mother’s Day solar storm, marked by a geomagnetic storm of −412 nT, the strongest in over two decades. Utilizing novel localization techniques with direction-finding data from STEREO-A, we identify an average eastward drift of 13.°42 ± 11.°63 in radio source locations relative to GOES observations. Our analysis reveals a significant correlation between solar flare intensity and longitude (Kendall’s tau = 0.535) and a strong correlation between radio flux at 1 MHz and GOES 1–8 Å soft X-ray flux (Kendall’s tau = 0.648). The timing analysis shows that peak soft X-ray fluxes typically follow electron beam liftoff by 3.24 ± 4.42 minutes. These insights into solar radio burst propagation and localization enhance our understanding of solar–terrestrial interactions and improve space weather forecasting capabilities.

Abstract: We present two-dimensional near-infrared temperature maps of the canonical hot Jupiter WASP-43b using a phase-curve observation with JWST NIRSpec/G395H. From the white-light planetary transit, we improve constraints on the planet’s orbital parameters and measure a planet-to-star radius ratio of ${0.15883}_{-0.00053}^{+0.00056}$ . Using the white-light phase curve, we measure a longitude of maximum brightness of ${6.9}_{-0\buildrel{\circ}\over{.} 5}^{+0\buildrel{\circ}\over{.} 5}$ east of the substellar point and a phase-curve offset of ${10.0}_{-0\buildrel{\circ}\over{.} 8}^{+0\buildrel{\circ}\over{.} 8}$ . We also find a ≈4 σ detection of a latitudinal hotspot offset of $-{13.4}_{-1\buildrel{\circ}\over{.} 7}^{+3\buildrel{\circ}\over{.} 2}$ , the first significant detection of a nonequatorial hotspot in an exoplanet atmosphere. We show that this detection is robust to variations within planetary parameter uncertainties, but only if the transit is used to improve constraints, showing the importance of transit observations to eclipse mapping. Maps retrieved from the NRS1 and NRS2 detectors are similar, with hotspot locations consistent between the two detectors at the 1 σ level. Our JWST data show brighter (hotter) nightsides and a dimmer (colder) dayside at the shorter wavelengths relative to fits to Spitzer 3.6 and 4.5 μ m phase curves. Through comparison between our phase curves and a set of general circulation models, we find evidence for clouds on the nightside and atmospheric drag or high metallicity reducing the eastward hotspot offset.

218. Stability of meropenem in portable elastomeric infusion devices: which protocol should be implemented in clinical practice?

Abstract: ABSTRACT Meropenem has an excellent activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including multi-resistant microorganisms. Even though meropenem is a great candidate for outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT), its physicochemical stability is a major challenge. This work aimed to demonstrate the suitability of including meropenem in OPAT by elucidating its physicochemical stability in a range of commonly prescribed concentrations within portable elastomeric infusion devices. Physical and chemical stability were evaluated at two concentrations commonly used in clinical practice (2 mg/mL and 25 mg/mL), and three temperatures (2–8°C, 25°C, and 32°C) using Accufuser portable elastomeric infusion devices. Drug adsorption onto portable elastomeric infusion devices was also determined at the end of the experiment. Meropenem stability significantly decreased at higher temperatures and when higher drug solution concentrations were used. Meropenem solutions at 2 mg/mL kept the drug content above 95% over 24 h at 2–8°C, but just for 8 h at 25°C. Nevertheless, solutions containing 25 mg/mL of meropenem showed a dramatic decrease in chemical stability after 8 h 2–8°C and just after 4 h at 25°C or 32°C. However, physical stability was kept favorable during this period. The drug adsorption on the material of the elastomeric infusion device was below 1%, indicating the suitability of the chosen device. We propose several administration protocols for meropenem in portable elastomeric infusion devices in clinical practice, according to the results obtained in our study. The results obtained in this study open up a possibility of administering meropenem in an OPAT setting despite its short stability. IMPORTANCE Although outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy can be a good approach to treating infections, a lack of data regarding antibiotic stability in portable elastomeric infusion devices restricts its safe and effective use. Actually, meropenem is used for prolonged periods above 24 h, and it is not physicochemically stable, which can compromise efficacy and toxicity. This work is of high importance to show the clinicians the real shelf life of meropenem when administered in portable elastomeric infusion devices. We propose several administration protocols for meropenem in portable elastomeric infusion devices in clinical practice, according to the stability drug results obtained in our study.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic led to supply chain disruptions causing a severe shortage of infant formula. The shortage impacted parents of infants with cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) who rely on specialized formulas. However, research on parent perspectives during formula shortages is limited. We aimed to understand the factors guiding parents' decisions when transitioning to alternative amino acid formula (AAF) or extensively hydrolyzed formula (eHF) during the national formula shortage. We conducted a survey using the ZSMoments platform and found that before the shortage, parents valued safety (83%), tolerability (78%), and reputability (78%) as primary factors in selecting eHFs and AAFs. Post-shortage, formula tolerability (86%), assurance (84%), and safety (80%) gained more importance. Among those switching eHF (n = 54), health care provider recommendations (81%), reputability (78%), taste (78%), and tolerability (78%) were rated as “extremely important.” Among those switching AAF (n = 26), top factors included tolerability (77%), assurance (73%), safety (73%), cost-effectiveness (73%), and formula trustworthiness (73%). These data suggest that parents carefully weigh various factors when managing their child's CMPA and transitioning to different AAF or eHF options.

Abstract: Climate system teleconnections are crucial for improving climate predictability, but difficult to quantify. Standard approaches to identify teleconnections are often based on correlations between time series. Here we present a novel method leveraging Granger causality, which can infer/detect relationships between any two fields. We compare teleconnections identified by correlation and Granger causality at different timescales. We find that both Granger causality and correlation consistently recover known seasonal precipitation responses to the sea surface temperature pattern associated with the El Ni\~{n}o Southern Oscillation. Such findings are robust across multiple time resolutions. Here, employing the chronological network concept -- a temporal network where nodes are linked if two consecutive events occur between them -- we investigate the information that dynamic community structures reveal about the wildfires' dynamics. Particularly, we explore a two-phase dynamic community detection approach, i.e., we applied the Louvain algorithm on a series of snapshots. Then we used the Jaccard similarity coefficient to match communities across adjacent snapshots. Experiments with the MODIS dataset of fire events in the Amazon basing were conducted. Our study investigates whether there are correlations in the periodic behavior of Type III radio bursts, indicative of non-thermal electron acceleration processes, and coronal EUV emission, assessing heating and cooling, in an active region when there are no large flares. Methods. We use coordinated observations of Type III radio bursts from the FIELDS instrument on Parker Solar Probe (PSP), of extreme ultraviolet emissions by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO)/AIA and white light observations by SDO/HMI, and of solar flare x-rays by Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) on April 12, 2019. Several methods for assessing periodicities are utilized and compared to validate periods obtained. Results. Periodicities of about 5 minutes in the EUV in several areas of an active region are well correlated with the repetition rate of the Type III radio bursts observed on both PSP and Wind. Detrended 211A and 171A light curves show periodic profiles in multiple locations, with 171A peaks lagging those seen in 211A. This is suggestive of impulsive events that result in heating and then cooling in the lower corona. NuSTAR x-rays provide evidence for at least one microflare during the interval of Type III bursts, but there is not a one-to-one correspondence between the x-rays and the Type-III bursts. Our study provides evidence for periodic acceleration of non-thermal electrons (required to generate Type III radio bursts) when there were no observable flares either in the x-ray data or the EUV. The acceleration process, therefore, must be associated with small impulsive events, perhaps nanoflares.

Abstract: We use the method of free energy minimization based on the first law of thermodynamics to derive static meniscus shapes for crystal ribbon growth systems. To account for the possibility of multivalued curves as solutions to the minimization problem, we choose a parametric representation of the meniscus geometry. Using Weierstrass' form of the Euler-Lagrange equation we derive analytical solutions that provide explicit knowledge on the behaviour of the meniscus shapes. Young's contact angle and Gibbs pinning conditions are also analyzed and are shown to be a consequence of the energy minimization problem with variable end-points. For a given ribbon growth configuration, we find that there can exist multiple static menisci that satisfy the boundary conditions. The stability of these solutions is analyzed using second order variations and are found to exhibit saddle node bifurcations. We show that the arc length is a natural representation of a meniscus geometry and provides the complete solution space, not accessible through the classical variational formulation. We provide a range of operating conditions for hydro-statically feasible menisci and illustrate the transition from a stable to spill-over configuration using a simple proof of concept experiment., Comment: 20 pages, 12 figures

Abstract: The amount and size of spatiotemporal data sets from different domains have been rapidly increasing in the last years, which demands the development of robust and fast methods to analyze and extract information from them. In this paper, we propose a network-based model for spatiotemporal data analysis called chronnet. It consists of dividing a geometrical space into grid cells represented by nodes connected chronologically. The main goal of this model is to represent consecutive recurrent events between cells with strong links in the network. This representation permits the use of network science and graphing mining tools to extract information from spatiotemporal data. The chronnet construction process is fast, which makes it suitable for large data sets. In this paper, we describe how to use our model considering artificial and real data. For this purpose, we propose an artificial spatiotemporal data set generator to show how chronnets capture not just simple statistics, but also frequent patterns, spatial changes, outliers, and spatiotemporal clusters. Additionally, we analyze a real-world data set composed of global fire detections, in which we describe the frequency of fire events, outlier fire detections, and the seasonal activity, using a single chronnet.

Abstract: Tverberg’s theorem says that a set with sufficiently many points in Rd can always be partitioned into m parts so that the (m- 1) -simplex is the (nerve) intersection pattern of the convex hulls of the parts. The main results of our paper demonstrate that Tverberg’s theorem is just a special case of a more general situation, where other simplicial complexes must always arise as nerve complexes, as soon as the number of points is large enough. We prove that, given a set with sufficiently many points, all trees and all cycles can also be induced by at least one partition of the point set. We also discuss how some simplicial complexes can never be achieved this way, even for arbitrarily large sets of points.

Abstract: El covid-19 como problema de salud, ha generado una crisis sanitaria y asistencial hacia la población, conllevando especialmente a los psicólogos, a examinar nuevas formas de atención a las personas. El objetivo de esta investigación fue comparar los resultados del proceso de prácticas clínicas de manera presencial, por telepsicología y en alternancia, desarrollada por estudiantes de psicología de instituciones de educación superior del Caribe Colombiano bajo el contexto del Covid-19; a través de un estudio mixto, incluyendo recolección de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos por medio de formularios online, aplicados a una muestra de 105 estudiantes y 6 tutores de prácticas de dos Instituciones de Educación Superior ubicadas en Barranquilla y Sincelejo. Los resultados evidencian que tanto la telepsicología como la presencialidad y la alternancia, permiten el desarrollo de competencias clínicas en los estudiantes como la realización de entrevistas, observaciones, evaluaciones, psicoeducación e intervención, y que los tutores de práctica son valorados satisfactoriamente como facilitadores de estos conocimientos y aptitudes, utilizando diferentes estrategias y recursos tecnológicos para ello. Se concluye que las tres modalidades permiten llevar a cabo las prácticas formativas en salud de manera satisfactoria especialmente si se acompaña de tutores con alto grado de compromiso, empatía e instrucción adecuada.

Abstract: Los países de Nicaragua, Ecuador y México han implementado en sus ordenamientos jurídicos internos criterios para la fijación de pensiones alimenticias de los menores de edad, con el objeto de garantizar el derecho de alimentos de acuerdo con las disposiciones de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño. Sin embargo, los parámetros que determinan la pensión alimenticia son distintos, por tal razón, el presente estudio se planteó como objetivo analizar las semejanzas y diferencias de la fijación de pensiones alimenticias que aportan al derecho de alimentos de niñas, niños y adolescentes en las legislaciones de estos Estados. En ese sentido, para dar cumplimiento al propósito se realizó una investigación jurídica de enfoque cualitativo, en donde se tomó como fuentes de información las legislaciones de Nicaragua, Ecuador y México. En el estudio se encontró que en la legislación de Nicaragua se fijan las pensiones alimenticias con base en los porcentajes establecidos en el Código de Familia, en Ecuador en correspondencia con las Tablas de Pensiones Alimenticias Mínimas y en México conforme al principio de proporcionalidad. 241. Piloting a Clinical Mental Health Process in the Intermediate School Setting

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for increased adolescent mental health support in the school setting. This evidence-based quality improvement project aimed to determine if implementing a clinical mental health pathway increases the number of mental health screenings completed and increases school nurse practitioners' comfort and confidence in completing mental health screenings. A Mental Health Toolkit was developed to include program-specific management recommendations, a school collaboration flowsheet, and educational and community resources for the nurse practitioner, students, and school community. The 15-week pilot intervention was evaluated using quantitative pre- and post-survey and qualitative interviews. The intervention increased the number of depression screenings performed compared to the previous school year. In addition, the post-intervention interview provided clarity to the persistent system-level and clinic-level barriers and provided personal insights into performing mental health screenings within the school setting. This pilot project allowed the nurse practitioner to model the normalization of mental health discussions. It also provided an opportunity for increased collaboration between the nurse practitioner and school partners, which can substantially impact adolescent mental health outcomes. Abstract: There is no current consensus on the parameters that determine the difficulty of mandibular third molar extraction in terms of the time required, which is essential to prevent complications and optimize the time of the intervention. This study aims to obtain, using the mathematical method of multiple linear regression, an equation that allows estimating the extraction time of a lower third molar according to its complexity, as well as to validate this equation in a sample of external wisdom teeth. Methods: A prospective cohort study on a sample of patients of the Master of Oral Surgery of the University of Seville in which multiple linear regression coefficients were calculated with a subsequent validation study of the results in the sample of patients operated in the Hospital Palmaplanas of Mallorca. Results: The regression line obtained after applying the statistical methodology to the cohort of patients from the University of Seville obtained significant dependent variables such as depth, roots, and odontosection. Once applied to the cohort of patients from the Palmaplanas Hospital in Mallorca, a regression coefficient was obtained between the data received and the estimated 0.770. Conclusions: The formula proposed in this article presents significant validity in the prediction of the surgical time of extraction of the lower third molars included.

This work is non experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive. The study reflect upon the generic competences that students consider are being promoted during their first years in the university and provides a reference for the methodology to identify development of generic skills in engineering students.

Abstract: Objetivo: Analizar avances en la literatura científica sobre factores de riesgo y sintomatología a corto y largo plazo del abuso sexual en niños, niñas y adolescentes. Método: Mediante una revisión de artículos científicos en inglés y en español, se seleccionaron 27 investigaciones disponibles en APA PsycArticles, Dialnet, Springer y ScienceDirect, entre 2011 y 2020 con información cuantitativa o cualitativa sobre factores de riesgo y sintomatología del abuso sexual en niños, niñas y adolescentes. Resultados: Se identifican factores de riesgo asociados a grupos etarios, principalmente entre 6-7 y 12-13 años, tipos de familias reconstituidas, así como a la presencia de cuidadores distintos a los padres. Entre los síntomas a corto plazo, se identifican cambios bruscos de comportamiento, dificultades en las relaciones interpersonales, angustia, miedo y culpa. Además, se registran lesiones físicas y alteraciones somáticas. A largo plazo se identifican síntomas asociados a estrés postraumático, conductas suicidas, trastornos alimenticios, dificultades de interacción social y en menor medida drogodependencia. Conclusiones: Respecto a los factores de riesgo se visibiliza el uso de redes sociales como un referente a considerar en las dinámicas actuales. Sin embargo, la literatura enfatiza en seguir consolidando el análisis de estos factores y su articulación con acciones pertinentes para la prevención y atención oportuna del abuso. En cuanto a la sintomatología se evidencian avances en el análisis a corto plazo, pues no sólo se aborda lo físico y fisiológico sino también desde lo psicosocial. Similarmente, el análisis de la sintomatología a largo plazo se orienta principalmente a procesos psicosociales.

Abstract: Introducción: El tratamiento quirúrgico de la gastrosquisis involucra el cierre de la pared abdominal después de reducir los órganos intrabdominales. Se utiliza el método Simil-exit (SE) para disminuir la morbi-mortalidad. El objetivo del presente estudio fue comparar la evolución de los pacientes con gastrosquisis sometidos a la técnica SE frente a los tratados con cierre primario (CP). Métodos: El presente estudio observacional, analiza registros de pacientes con gastrosquisis en el hospital "Dr. Roberto Gilbert Elizalde" del 2019 al 2022. Se comparan técnicas de SE Vs. CP. Las variables incluyen éxito del cierre, inicio de la alimentación enteral, duración de la estancia hospitalaria y mortalidad. Resultados: Un total de 9 casos con SE y 26 casos con CP. No hubo diferencias entre el tiempo de inicio de la alimentación enteral (P=0.13), tiempo de hospitalización (P=0.43). Respecto a la mortalidad, en la técnica CP se reportaron 4 casos (15.4%; P=0.5), la misma que está en relación significativa con las reintervenciones (P=0.002) y las gastrosquisis complejas (P

Abstract: Root rot caused by Phytophthora cinnamomi Rands, is one of the main factors that limits avocado production worldwide; silicon as a defense inducer seems to be a viable strategy to integrate into the management of this disease. Hereby, the present study evaluated the induction of resistance with silicon in Hass avocado plants inoculated with P. cinnamomi, as a possible alternative to conventional agrochemical management. A potassium silicate solution (10 mL, 0.2 M expressed as SiO2) was applied by irrigation, for ten days before inoculation with P. cinnamomi in Hass avocado plants.
