Quantitative literacy is an important skill for biology students. During COVID-19, students had to adapt to several changes, including shifting from offline to online classes. However, not all biology content can be taught easily, especially online. Therefore, students need self-efficacy abilities. Self-efficacy was important for students to be able to make a plan for their learning. This research aimed to describe students' self-efficacy to continue their online biology learning during COVID-19, based on their quantitative literacy skills. This study used 20-item questionnaires with four choices of statements. The biology topic chosen was plant anatomy. This research measured the score of 82 first-year college students' self-efficacy from three aspects - magnitude, strength, and generality. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to measure the mean, the highest, and the lowest students' self-efficacy scores. The result showed that the average score of students' self-efficacy was 2.72, which means students' self-efficacy was in the moderate category. All three aspects were also in the moderate category, with the strength aspect score being the highest at 2.76 and the magnitude aspect score being the lowest at 2.66. Based on the number of participants' level of self-efficacy, 3% of students were in the high category, 96% were in the moderate category, and 1% were in the low category. The result showed that most of the students in this research have a moderate level of self-efficacy in online biology learning, based on quantitative literacy. This means that most of the students still must develop their self-efficacy skills to learn online quantitative lessons in biology successfully. The results also suggested that it is essential to teach students how to manage their learning behavior through the development of self-efficacy to succeed in online quantitative lessons in biology learning in the future. This study aims to formulate recommendations for water conservation strategies through solving the causes of water scarcity. Through a qualitative approach, the study was conducted through a review of secondary data sourced from institutions related to the research topic, accompanied by an analysis review of relevant literatures. Secondary data obtained shows that the majority of urban communities choose boreholes/pumps and piped water as the main SAM for purposes other than drinking, while drinking is dominated by refill water. Among the strategies identified, NbS (Nature-based Solution) based on ecosystem strengthening and economic valuation through Payment for Ecosystem Service (PES) will support sustainable natural resource planning in urban areas by considering ecological aspects and community welfare. Sustainable water management in urban areas requires a synergy of driving factors such as policy formulation based on ecological sustainability, involvement of stakeholders with effective coordination, and community involvement in planning and management. Therefore, alignment of perceptions and goals between actors is required to achieve strategic steps and sustainable natural resource governance planning as an inevitable response to climate change. This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical connection skills. Based on the results of previous studies, it is known that the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students is still low. This study aims to develop a mathematical connection ability instrument suitable for elementary school students. This study uses the research and development method. The samples are 27 sixth-grade students at an elementary school in Purwakarta who were selected through purposive sampling. The ability instrument that has been made is in the form of an essay that consists of five open-ended questions about geometry. The indicators developed in preparing the questions were related to the ability of mathematical connections. The questions were constructed according to expert suggestions followed by a trial to see its validity, reliability, difficulty index, and discriminating power. Results show that the validity and reliability of the test instrument developed in this study are 0.73 and 0.84, implying that the test instrument has high validity and reliability. Questions numbers 1,3, and 5 have a high level of difficulty, while numbers 2 and 4 have a very high level of difficulty. The discriminating power for question number 1 is 47.62% (good), number 2 is 28.57% (fair), number 3 is 38.10% (good), number 4 is 28.57% (fair), and number 5 is 57.14% (very good). Thus, the five test items can measure mathematical connections in learning mathematics on geometry topics for fifth-grade elementary school students and are appropriate for further research instruments on similar subjects and variables. It is important to develop the creative thinking ability of elementary school students so they can tackle the challenges of today's world. This skill can be enhanced through learning activities at school, particularly in subjects like mathematics. This study aimed to create motion graphics video teaching materials based on the CPA approach to help improve students' creative thinking abilities. The 4-D model was used to develop these materials, which involves defining, designing, developing, and disseminating the materials. The experts used teaching materials assessment sheets and test items to evaluate the effectiveness of the materials. The results showed that mathematics teaching materials using motion graphics video teaching based on the CPA approach were successful in improving students' creative thinking skills. This study aimed to analyze the improvement of competence and affective disposition of junior high school teachers after implementing biodiversity literacy textbooks containing material on the local potency of West Java. The study used a weak experimental design with the one group pretest post-test method. A total of 33 junior high school teachers from various districts in West Java Province were involved in the research conducted from January 2020 to August 2021. The results showed that there was an average increase in competence (71%) and affective disposition (69%) of biodiversity literacy. There was a sequential increase in biodiversity literacy competence, namely, scientifically explaining biodiversity phenomena (77%), evaluating scientific inquiry related to biodiversity (74%), scientific interpretation of biodiversity data and evidence (73%), and designing scientific inquiries related to biodiversity (68%). There was an increase in the level of biodiversity literacy competence at level 4 (21%), level 5 (15%), and level 6 (48%). There was an increase in affective disposition in the form of sensitivity and positive values (88%), self-confidence, personal and social responsibility (69%), interest (68%), and concern for biodiversity (67%). The results of hypothesis testing with the Wilcoxon Test resulted in a sig value of 0.000 for competence and attitude disposition. The study concluded that biodiversity literacy textbooks containing material on the local potency of West Java can help improve the competence and affective disposition of biodiversity literacy of junior high school teachers. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: A lousy environment has the potential to be a predictor of disease transmission, which ultimately results in malnutrition among children. Meanwhile, the mother's role is crucial in the first 1000 days of life. This research aimed to determine the determinants of maternal behavior in preventing chronic malnutrition in children on the basis of environmental aspects. METHODS: This cross-sectional study with a quantitative design was conducted in Surabaya, Indonesia, with a sample of 208 pregnant women and 222 mothers of toddlers. A questionnaire was used to identify information related to the dependent variable, chronic malnutritional prevention behavior, on the basis of environmental aspects, and independent variables related to the determinants of maternal behavior. Data were analyzed via Chi-square test using the Statistical Program for Social Sciences. FINDINGS: As many as 80.8 percent of pregnant women and 65.8 percent of mothers under five had good chronic malnutritionchronic malnutrition prevention behavior. The perception of behavioral control in using clean water is significantly related to the behavior of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers, with significance values of 0.012 and 0.013, respectively. The perceived behavioral control towards washing hands with soap has a significant relationship with the behavior of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers, with significance values of 0.003 and 0.005, respectively. Pregnant women with poor behavioral control in washing their hands with clean water and soap were 2.963 times more likely to have poor chronic malnutritionchronic malnutritional prevention behavior than the comparison group. Subjective norms of using clean water and washing hands with clean water and soap in pregnant women are significantly related to chronic malnutritionchronic malnutrition prevention behavior, with significance values of 0.011 and 0.049, respectively, and odds ratios of 2 and 2.280, respectively. CONCLUSION: Environment-based chronic malnutritionchronic malnutritional prevention behavior in mothers is primarily influenced by perceived behavioral control and subjective norms. The family can be part of the subjective norms that drive aspects of attitudes and perceptions of behavioral control related to environment-based chronic malnutritionchronic malnutrition prevention practices. Meanwhile, the aspects of controlling maternal behavior can be intervened through efforts to minimize obstacles and increase the perception of benefits from behavior to prevent chronic malnutrition. Maternal behavioral change interventions could encourage the implementation of good behavior in preventing malnutrition in children. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Plastic waste in Indonesia increased significantly during the Covid-19 pandemic. With this surge in plastic consumption and waste, awareness of environmental sanitation becomes essential, especially regarding the use of plastic. Society must consider the impact of single-use plastics and implement good plastic waste management. This study aimed to determine the environmental awareness of a community and what factors contributed to its plastic waste utilization activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. METHODS: The data collection in this study was conducted using a questionnaire with a crosssectional analytical approach. The study was conducted in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, the largest city in Eastern Indonesia, and purposive sampling was used to determine selected respondents. Data analysis was carried out using chi-square to identify partial relationships and logistic regression to distinguish relationships simultaneously. FINDINGS: This study found that 53.2 percent of respondents frequently used plastic during the Covid-19 pandemic. Partial relationship analysis showed that general knowledge about waste and its impact was not significantly related to plastic use activities during the pandemic. Meanwhile, knowledge about plastic use during the pandemic, knowledge of protecting the environment, attitudes toward plastic use, attitudes toward waste management, behavior toward plastic use, and behavior regarding processing plastic waste were significantly related to plastic use activities during the Covid-19 pandemic, with respective test values of 0.000 each. Willingness to pay was also significantly related to plastic use activities during the pandemic, with a test value of 0.007. Simultaneous analysis showed that knowledge about plastic use during the pandemic was related to plastic use activities during the same time frame, with an odds ratio value of 0.398 and a negative relationship direction. Plastic wasteprocessing behavior was the most dominant factor influencing plastic use activities during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a test value of 0.000 and a positive relationship direction. Respondents who did not have good waste management behavior were 3.963 times more likely to use plastic frequently in their daily activities during the pandemic. CONCLUSION: The study results show the importance of increasing knowledge regarding plastic use and waste management. Good knowledge will intervene in attitudes that encourage good behavior. This study focuses on the relationship between plastic processing behavior and the intensity of plastic use during the Covid-19 pandemic. It emphasizes the need for intervention in the form of education about the importance of protecting the environment and providing facilities that enable people to implement good waste-processing behavior.
