O estudo tem o objetivo de verificar como está se dando a utilização de indicadores de desempenho à luz das perspectivas do Balanced Scorecard (BSC) no processo decisório, em cooperativas de crédito na cidade de João Pessoa-PB. Foi realizado um estudo multicaso, com abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados a partir da técnica de entrevista em profundidade com auxílio de questionário e tratados a partir da análise do conteúdo e dispostos em framework. Os resultados mostram que o BSC tem função relevante no processo decisório, sendo utilizada em ações relacionadas à capacitação de colaboradores, redução de custos, captação de novos clientes, oferta de produtos novos e aumento de rentabilidade. Além disso, corrobora com a comunicação de estratégias na organização, sobretudo, integrando e alinhando os processos, como também unindo indicadores estratégicos e vantagem competitiva a partir da combinação de indicadores financeiros e não financeiros.

Improving operational sustainability may help U.S. general aviation (GA) airports improve overall sustainable development without substantial financial inputs. An exploratory multiple-case study of five GA airports was conducted to explore the current understandings of airport operational sustainability among U.S. GA airports. Based on findings, a new definition of airport operational sustainability for U.S. GA airports was developed. A set of performance metrics for measuring operational sustainability in U.S. GA airports was identified. The new definition may help GA airports to develop sustainable management plans, and may help airports in other categories to expand their sustainability perspectives. The metrics identified in this study may be used to measure progress to the sustainable development, identify problems, and set performance goals or targets for airports. Refereed/Peer-reviewed

We use a multiple case study approach to investigate “entrepreneurial leaps,” transition phases between dynamic states in which entrepreneurial action focused on reconfiguring key elements of the business model allows a firm to tap into new pools of resources through accessing and exploiting new market. Based on an analysis of 24 cases from three European countries, we derive a general process model of entrepreneurial leaps and identify four different patterns of how these transitions typically unfolds. The combination of dynamic states and entrepreneurial leaps can be used as a general framework for explaining nonlinear growth processes in firms.

Different stakeholders pressure companies to innovate and to include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in their strategy. This article examines how innovation and CSR relate in some Brazilian companies. We conducted a multiple case study with five companies that claim to be highly innovative and to include social and environmental responsibility in their strategic agenda. Results indicate that CSR is mainly employed in a reactive way and cannot be considered strategic in these cases. CSR has a secondary position for these companies, while innovation is prioritized, since it is perceived as a source of value and competitiveness. We found a unilateral relation between the constructs, according to which innovation can generate CSR benefits, but CSR does not generate benefits in terms of innovation. CSR and innovation also exist independently, in a way that not every innovation generates CSR benefits. The paper presents implications and future studies suggestions.

The growing demand for ESP courses, due not only to the use of English as a lingua franca in a globalized professional world but also to the relatively recent requirements of “internationalized” university degrees, has made the teaching of English for Special Purposes, with the areas and the language teaching approaches (EOP, EAP, EVP) it has come to include, increasingly reliant on the use of specialized EFL textbooks. However, the ESP books available in the market still might not cover all the non-linguistic specialized university disciplines, or they might be too costly and time-consuming for short, elective, and pass/fail EFL courses worth few ECTS credits.This paper will report on the author’s experience of teaching a University Business Communication course without the use of textbooks, and with significant resort to online free educational resources and “non-desktop” technologies, materials and tools, which have also been exploited to involve students in the preparation of flipped lessons and the creation of their own educational material. The course-specific features and students’ outcomes, especially in terms of competence and skill development, will be described with a brief analysis of the pros and cons of transforming a formal educational setting in an informal language learning experience.

Service organizations for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) increasingly use telecare applications to improve their services. This study explored the usefulness of offering the 24/7 online support service DigiContact within a broader mix of professional services for people with IDD living independently. We employed a qualitative multiple case study, in which the cases of nine online support users were reconstructed through semistructured interviews with both support users and their case workers. Thematic analysis showed that online support was used as an addition to regular onsite support to enable a more tailor-made delivery of professional supports. Online support can be valuable for its users by increasing the accessibility of professional support and creating opportunities for more self-direction in support.

This study focused on our teaching efforts in regard to preparing preservice teachers to one day teach children about ecological concepts that many find scary or disgusting. Specifically, we examined the attitudes these preservice teachers had towards certain invertebrates. These attitudes were compared to their self-efficacy towards teaching about them. A multiple case study design was used, involving both qualitative and quantitative data. Participants were categorized as having positive, neutral, or negative attitudes towards the invertebrates and activities. Self-efficacy for participants’ perceived ability to teach these concepts were categorized as high, medium, or low. Correlations were run to examine relationships between variables of attitudes and self-efficacy. Participants demonstrated more negative than positive reactions towards the invertebrates. Positive correlations between attitudes towards invertebrates and their self-efficacy towards teaching about them were found. This indicates that if we want future teachers to be comfortable teaching about the scary and disgusting aspects of an ecosystem, we need to find ways to help them improve their attitudes towards those aspects of the outdoors.

Purpose This paper aims to study the influence of project managers’ signature strengths on project team resilience. Design/methodology/approach The authors performed a qualitative multiple case study design to explore the research question. Open-ended interviews, site visits, observations and documents were the data sources. The authors used character strengths and virtues within positive psychology as a theoretical framework in the data analysis. Findings The main finding of this study is that the project manager’s use of signature strengths influences the resilience of the project team. The cross-case analysis revealed four signature strengths – leadership, open-mindedness, persistence and hope – that influenced team resilience in all three studied cases. Research limitations/implications Future research should investigate other organizations, types of projects and countries so that the findings may be generalized. Practical implications This paper provides managers and teams with useful insights on signature strengths and team resilience. The findings stress the importance of managers being aware of their signature strengths and knowing how to use them. As the working situation today is often more complex, uncertain and difficult than ever, it is important to have resilient managers and teams. Originality/value This study contributes to increased knowledge on signature strengths and team resilience.

PurposeThe rapid advancement of digital technologies has fundamentally changed the competitive dynamics of the logistics service industry and forced incumbent logistics service providers (LSPs) to digitalize. As many LSPs still struggle in advancing their digital transformation (DT), the purpose of this study is to discover barriers and identify organizational elements and associated leading practices for DT success at LSPs.Design/methodology/approachThis study utilizes a two-stage approach. Stage 1 is devoted to a literature review. Stage 2, based on multiple case studies, analyzes information collected across nine international and global LSPs.FindingsThis research derives a practice-based definition of DT in the logistics service industry, and it has identified five barriers, eight success factors and associated leading practices for DT. The main obstacles LSPs struggle with, are the complexity of the logistics network and lack of resources, while the main success factor is a leader having and executing a DT vision, and creating a supportive organizational culture.Practical implicationsThe results contribute to the emerging field of DT within the logistics and supply chain management literature and provide insights for practitioners regarding how to effectively implement it in a complex industry.Originality/valueThe authors analyze DT from the perspective of LSPs, traditionally not viewed as innovative companies. Two important phenomena have increasingly been noted in relation to small firms: they are internationalising more often and early in their life cycle. However, less is known about the other process dimensions of small firm internationalisation, particularly about the number of international markets small firms venture into, their choice and geographic scope of international markets, and levels of commitment in these markets. If we follow the internationalisation process models, we can assume that small firms will gradually internationalise and increase their commitments to psychically close international markets. However, as this empirical study using multiple case study methodology shows, recent internationalisers are internationalising to multiple and distant markets across a broader and global geographic scope with a low and fluctuating international market commitment. This internationalisation behaviour reflects “compressed internationalisation” involving the compression of internationalisation processes across distances and geographic markets. Although compressed internationalisation has largely been enabled by the new international environment, internationalisation strategy and international entrepreneurial orientation influence whether a firm engages in compressed internationalisation.

The air transport services is highly relevant to the global economy and has grown about six times the global GDP in recent years. Nevertheless, it has not been able to generate the desired profitability, due to high costs and the inability to deliver differentiated services to customers. This study aimed to identify what are the main activities in the new service development process (NSDP) for companies in the air transport industry. Several NSDP activities are identified in the literature, which make up a conceptual model. By conducting multiple case studies and comparing the results with the literature, ten of those activities are found to be recurrent in the air transport industry, as the analysis of the external environment and the analysis of the financial capacity of the company. A framework for new service development process on air transport industry is proposed.

This study aims to determine the compliance of amil zakat institutions in financial management (accountability) and legal status. The research method uses descriptive qualitative analysis with multiple case study models of amil zakat institutions which have zakat distribution in Madiun City. Case studies include: BAZNAS, Infaq Management Institute (LMI), Muhammadiyah Alms Alms Zakat Institution (LAZISMU), Yatim Mandiri, Amil Zakat Institute Alms Alms Nahdatul Ulama (LAZISNU), and Baitul Maal Hidayatullah in Madiun City. There are 6 key informants and 5 supporting informants. The results of this study indicate that not all institutions carry out the process of preparing a standard financial report, which refers to PSAK 109, namely zakat, infaq, and alms accounting. The educational background of the management and the policies of each institution in the preparation of financial statements results in the incompatibility of financial statements that are made with generally accepted accounting standards.

This article examines how three transmasculine persons are subjectified in the Danish treatment system. Based on a multiple case study with three transmasculine persons, we analyse how the treatment system encourages them to perform a more traditional masculinity in order to be culturally intelligible and in order to be assessed as being eligible for treatment. We explore the struggle of subjectivity embedded in these practices. By investigating the concrete subjectification mechanisms and the ways these are dealt with by transmasculine persons, we support existing literature identifying the queer community as a strategic resource in regard to teaching new patients how to “be wrong the right way.” They do so by sharing knowledge about how best to manage the system in order to get closer to living the lives they want. The study contributes theoretically by shedding light on the subjectification processes producing not only boundaries between normal and abnormal (such as binary and nonbinary), but also between legitimate abnormal (binary transgender) and illegitimate abnormal (nonbinary transgender).

Minority research and training (MRT) programs utilize interventions aimed at increasing student persistence toward the completion of undergraduate degrees and continuation into doctoral degrees. Numerous studies identify these support interventions as essential components for positive outcomes among underrepresented students, including research experiences, social integration, mentorship, and financial support. Many of these previous studies utilize quantitative design involving current program participants or program alumni who continued into graduate programs. This pilot study employed a multiple case study with a narrative approach involving partici­pants of an MRT program who completed a BSc degree but did not subsequently ma­triculate into a doctoral program. The cross-case analysis identified perceived barriers deterring continuation into doctoral degree programs among former MRT participants. Results from this study add student voice to the current literature and provide recom­mendations to better serve underrepresent­ed students in the STEM disciplines. This study utilizes ethnographic methods, in-depth interviews, and observations to investigate the neighborhood and high school experiences of Terry, an academically and athletically high-achiever. Originating from a multiple case study methodology that examined the experiences, perceptions, and aspirations of Black male students who played high school sports, this research draws from examinations that investigated the experiences of Black males in their neighborhood, school, and athletic settings. The findings highlight how Terry escaped from “bondage” by displaying characteristics of resourcefulness. Although he experienced violence in his neighborhood, the combination of support from family members, exposure to an advanced academic curriculum, and sports participation at an early age protected Terry from becoming a victim or a participant in violent crimes. Furthermore, Terry received an athletic scholarship to attend college but aspired to use his athletic skills as a platform to earn a business degree and a PhD. This study has implications for expanding the understanding of the perceptions and aspirations of Black male students who play sports in urban neighborhoods and at urban schools. Furthermore, it provides policymakers and administrators insights that can further develop programming and activities that support the social and academic advancement of Black male students who play sports.

This study is an investigation of the possible relationship between clinical interview skills and teacher noticing. In a multiple case study, video-recordings of pre-service teachers’ (PSTs’) mathematical clinical interviews and their written critiques of a mathematics lesson were examined using qualitative content analysis. Findings suggest that there are some relationships between the PSTs’ clinical interview skills and their noticing expertise. Conceptual interview skills such as paying attention to students’ mathematical thinking; evaluating the validity, generalizability, or efficiency of students’ mathematical ideas; and recognizing their conceptual difficulties constitute a common core to explain the possible relationship. The theoretical and empirical implications and the limitations of the study are discussed.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Bangladesh and India in efforts of combating money laundering by these countries through a comparative assessment of several aspects of both FIUs. Design/methodology/approach The two FIUs are compared by using a “multiple case design” method of assessment. The framework for assessment was developed following the earlier models developed by scholars and recommendations of international institutions working on money laundering. Publicly available information from the respective websites of FIUs and annual reports has been used to complete the study. Findings The study has found that FIUs of both countries have improved significantly in fulfilling their mandates. There are several commonalities and differences between the two agencies. Despite showing improvement in several respects, both countries need to address certain basic deficiencies of the existing framework to make the agencies more effective. Originality/value It is supposed that this study will assist both countries to transform their existing FIUs to robust agencies in anti-money laundering efforts by taking care of the weaknesses identified here. It is hoped that the present study will encourage similar studies regarding the problematic areas of FIUs of Bangladesh and India as identified and in respect of FIUs of other countries.

Children with autism often exhibit difficulties with reading comprehension. Recent studies have demonstrated positive outcomes for typical learners from the internet-based reading comprehension program, Headsprout Reading Comprehension®. In the present study, a preliminary evaluation of HRC was conducted with six children with autism. The primary aim was to investigate whether it would be feasible to use HRC with children with autism and whether any adaptations to the standard teaching procedure and extra support would be needed. A secondary aim was to investigate the potential of HRC to improve reading comprehension skills. The study used a multiple case series design with six children. Results are discussed with reference to increased reading comprehension ability in the six children and the practical strategies required to support children with autism so that they may benefit from the program.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a new framework: SCOPE - to postulate strategies for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to export, compete, and succeed in the global market. SCOPE stands for Strategies to analyze the Challenges, Opportunities, and Problems to succeed in Exporting. A multiple case study method was employed based on semi-structured interviews with senior managers of different SMEs from three European countries. It was found that SMEs face internal and external challenges. This is complemented by a Pentagon model. This framework could be employed as a theoretical lens to critically examine the antecedents and outcome of SME internationalization.

Se estudia la relación entre las dimensiones socioemocionales y la toma de decisiones en la empresa familiar, la cual está asociada con los perfiles de los tomadores de decisiones. Siguiendo las líneas teóricas del patrimonio o riqueza socioemocional y los arquetipos de empresa familiar, se utiliza el estudio de caso múltiple. Con ello se encuentra que existe una relación diferenciada entre las dimensiones socioemocionales y la toma de decisiones, dependiendo de la generación y arquetipo familiar, donde el principal criterio para este proceso es la pérdida o conservación de la riqueza socioemocional. Se proponen tres perfiles de tomadores de decisiones: SEW-Dependiente, SEW-Flexible y SEW-Independiente; el perfil SEW-Flexible es el más adecuado para la continuidad y preservación del patrimonio socioemocional.

This multiple case study of a contracting firm contributes to understanding the barriers that organizations face during the implementation of building information modeling (BIM) by providing insights into the impact of these barriers across different organizational levels (i.e., from top management to project teams) and by relating these barriers to different degrees of BIM maturity. First, we observe the dominance of barriers related to the motivation, competence, and time capacity of people across all levels of an organization. Second, the cluster of barriers at the middle-management level highlights the important role of this level in reducing these barriers. Third, only those cases with a low level of BIM maturity have struggled with lack of top management support, thereby highlighting the importance of such support in achieving BIM maturity growth. High BIM maturity situations are more prone to externally oriented barriers in attempting to further leverage the benefits of BIM. Our study provides insights on where to focus BIM implementation measures and how to enhance organizational BIM maturity.

A filosofia kaizen, apesar de ser considerada uma das ferramentas mais eficazes para a melhoria dos processos industriais, tem encontrado dificuldades para sustentar as melhorias feitas no longo prazo. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar quais os fatores que sustentam os resultados do kaizen na produtividade das empresas, que implantaram o kaizen por um longo prazo. A pesquisa utilizou-se do estudo de caso múltiplo com duas abordagens: quantitativa e qualitativa. Na investigação quantitativa, foi realizado um recorte longitudinal em uma empresa do segmento têxtil. Os dados coletados foram obtidos a partir de formulários, observação sistemática do processo, e relatórios da empresa. Na investigação qualitativa, cujo recorte temporal foi transversal, foram realizadas entrevistas utilizando-se de um questionário semiestruturado, em diversas empresas que implantaram o kaizen por um longo prazo, com um sistema de produção equivalente a indústria têxtil. Ao comparar as empresas, buscou-se identificar e agrupar os fatores considerados importantes pelas empresas. Além da identificação dos fatores que contribuem para a sustentação das melhorias do kaizen, obteve-se também um roteiro para auxiliar a sustentação dos resultados do kaizen na produtividade das empresas.

Social and emotional learning (SEL) competencies such as self-awareness and relationship skills are predictors of academic success, overall well-being, and avoidance of problematic behaviors. Among school-aged children, research has demonstrated that well-implemented programs teach SEL competencies and life skills (e.g., leadership, responsible decision making) that can transfer to other settings. Similar claims have been made in the field of sport-based youth development (SBYD), however, the SEL framework has not been widely applied in sport programming. Implementation, student learning, and transfer of learning in SBYD programs designed to promote SEL require further exploration. Therefore, the current study examined the implementation and perceived benefits of an after-school soccer program designed to promote SEL. Participants were six coaches and 51 students from three different sites where this program is offered. A multiple case study design was used, integrating data from customized feedback surveys, interviews, systematic observation, and field notes. Results indicated the program reflects many SBYD best practices. Although implementation varied between sites, program culture and core values were consistent. Evidence indicated students learned and applied SEL lessons in the soccer program and that transfer beyond the program was promoted. Participants were most likely to report transfer to the school setting, therefore, future studies should examine this topic more directly. Other implications for research and program implementation are discussed.

Purpose This study aims to explore key factors influencing the work of interdisciplinary university research teams of small size. Design/methodology/approach This is a multiple-case study of four interdisciplinary university research teams of small size in which science and/or engineering was an important component. Findings Data analysis revealed 17 critical factors classified into five groups. Although some factors were more influential than others, it was rather multiple factors at various levels of analysis, and not a single factor, that influenced the work of research teams. Another important finding was the identified need to develop project management capacity of university researchers. The study also revealed two strategies, conditioned on the availability of funds, that small university research teams use as a way to adapt to situational demands and research opportunities. Originality/value Although previous research examined various aspects pertinent to the work of industry research teams and large research groups, empirical research into interdisciplinary university research teams of small size has been limited.

The article examines the experience of parenting a child with a diagnosis of autism with a focus on scripts and intentions in relation to the parents’ own childhood experiences of being parented. Five parents participated in a multiple case study design involving in-depth interviews, Adult Attachment Interviews and a parenting intentions scaling task. The findings revealed that all of the parents had experienced significant adverse events in their own childhoods, including trauma and losses. They also expressed intentions to offer parenting that was ‘corrective’ in terms of providing a better emotional environment for their children. Their corrective attempts and also intentions to repeat positive aspects of being parented were moderated by unconscious aspects of their early childhood experiences and also by the autistic features of their children. The interplay between early embodied experiences, theories of autism, parenting experiences and intentions is discussed along with clinical implications.

Little is known about child-to-parent intergenerational learning for environmental sustainability. This qualitative multiple case study research investigated how young Maltese children (aged three to seven years) influence their parents’ pro-environmental actions. Participants included 12 children and 10 parents. Data were collected via observations in one household and two state schools, conversational interviews with children, children’s drawings and their interpretations of them, children’s photograph interpretations, semi-structured interviews with parents and document analysis. Findings revealed that most parents were influenced by their children’s requests to engage in pro-environmental actions, which in turn they had learned about as part of the Eco-Schools programme. Additionally, some parents regarded their children as having agency in discussing environmental issues and strived to empower them in acquiring environmental stewardship skills, but others did not. Background Quality improvement collaboratives (QICs) can help to disseminate evidence-based practices, but there is limited guidance from the perspectives of QIC organizers and participants of best practices to support practice change. To address this gap, this study aimed to identify key structures and processes of QICs that support dissemination and implementation of quality improvement projects. Methods Semistructured one-on-one and group interviews were conducted from December 2017 to May 2018 with project administrators (n = 28) at three QICs that had been funded to develop and disseminate obstetric emergency safety bundles in more than 300 hospitals across five states. For further study, the project leads (n = 25) at six hospitals nominated by each QIC were interviewed. A multiple case study design was used to evaluate the dissemination strategies of each of the three QICs. For the QIC interviews, questions asked about dissemination approach, and for the hospital interviews, questions asked about implementation facilitators and barriers. All interviews were transcribed, coded, and analyzed using both deductive and inductive methods. Results A key element supporting the dissemination strategy of each QIC was leveraging existing partnerships and relationships and promoting a shared vision with participating hospitals. A robust data infrastructure to support the project was identified as a critical element to support dissemination, yet was a challenge for the QICs. Conclusion These findings highlight specific elements of a dissemination approach that QICs can deploy to support their dissemination efforts. In particular, building data infrastructure may be a useful strategy to support ongoing quality improvement projects.

This contribution aims to provide a snapshot of the ongoing process of structuring the National System of Competences Certification. Through a multiple case study on Regional Administrations with consolidated experience, together with the con-sultation of key witnesses and through the analysis of reports, the research has the general objective to reflect on the ability of the Regional System of Certification of Competences, to accomplish virtuous pathways of active and inclusive welfare. The reconstruction of structuring regional pathways and the expected impact of this governance system on vocational training and active labor market policies trigger a first level of reflection on a process still in progress. This process concerns, on the one hand, the critical analysis of the impacts of social investment policies and, on the other, almost 20 years after Law 3/2001, the debate on the regional fragmentation of Italian welfare.

Many music teacher education programmes in the United States are increasingly offering classes that fall within the scope of modern band. A number of policies impact music teacher education curricula in the United States. These include both hard policies, such as teacher certification and NASM accreditation requirements, as well as soft policies, such as institutional traditions. In this multiple case study, the researchers interviewed three music teacher educators from different universities to examine their individual experiences incorporating modern band into their music education curricula and identify any policy issues that arose as they proposed and instituted curricular changes. The themes identified with regard to implementing modern band into the music teacher education curriculum included time, support, curricular positioning, equity and access. Notably, the participants did not cite any specific policy issues as barriers to implementing modern band into music education coursework.

Although there is much research detailing the pedagogical constraints of high-stakes testing (HST), there is less that examines teachers’ practices within and beyond its control. This multiple case study analyzes ethnographic data to explore two teachers’ practices in an urban context where HST was relevant. Drawing on Foucault’s conceptualization of a plague-stricken town, we explore the mobilization of disciplinary power associated with HST. We then examine teachers’ agency as they taught beyond the administrative gaze. We found that teachers sometimes complied with administrative mandates while also articulating tensions of providing access and actively resisting/critiquing the test.

This multiple case study examines seven institutional documents from universities in four countries (Australia, China, Finland and Germany) with the aim of determining how plagiarism is defined in these institutional contexts. This research expands on previous analyses of university plagiarism policies in the Anglosphere (e.g., Kaktiņš, 2014; Sutherland-Smith, 2011), and particularly the notion that institutional definitions of plagiarism contain “six elements” (Pecorari, 2002). Using the six elements model of plagiarism as a theoretical basis, the documents in this study were analysed using deductive content analysis. The findings of this analysis revealed that the definitions of plagiarism were consistent across the contexts, with all policies containing five of the six elements in their definitions. At two institutions, however, the element of intentionality was not addressed in the definition of plagiarism. Furthermore, the extent of discussion of certain elements of plagiarism (e.g., the need for source acknowledgement), and an emphasis on “good academic practice” across the documents revealed the need for ongoing research that considers how institutions construct official definitions of plagiarism.

One of the greatest threats faced by organizations is disruption in the supply chain arising from not sharing risk information among the supply chain partners. The aim of this study is to identify the inhibitors of risk information sharing in a supply chain by using practical‐side evidence. An exploratory multiple case design was utilized to investigate why supply chain partners in Turkey may be reluctant to share risk information among their members and provide solutions to overcome these barriers. The results of the study indicate that the inhibitors of risk information sharing fall into three categories: risk‐related, organization‐related, and management‐related. Furthermore, the findings demonstrate possible solutions for reluctance in risk information sharing among supply chain partners based on managers' experiences.

Este artigo discute a Gestão de Sala de Aula na Educação Musical, enfatizando diferentes visões sobre o tema e sua importância para a formação docente em Música. Decorrente de uma pesquisa de mestrado, no formato de um estudo de casos múltiplos, este trabalho traz sua parte bibliográfica e nossas conclusões a partir das realidades observadas. Apresentamos uma revisão bibliográfica, tanto no campo da Educação, quanto no da Educação Musical, em que o conceito de Gestão da Sala de Aula é apresentado e debatido. Tomando como base uma concepção de educação crítica, nossas conclusões reforçam a importância do debate sobre a Gestão da Sala de Aula na formação docente em Música, sua relação com o planejamento, sua ligação com a avaliação e com a reflexão do professor e seu papel em uma educação progressista buscando garantir as aprendizagens.

This article aims to study the process of innovation in national microenterprises of services in crisis environments. Absorptive capacity is a mechanism that enables companies from different industry sectors, such as services, to develop innovative services through the recognition of the value of identified opportunities and assimilation of external knowledge by the company. It was observed the lack of literature on innovation in service microenterprises, both national and foreign enterprises. The research method adopted is exploratory qualitative research through multiple case studies, which allowed to deepen the understanding of the innovation process in microenterprises. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with four microenterprises chosen based on the dimensions prior knowledge (antecedents) and external knowledge according to the maximum variation criterion. The result suggests that the domestic laundry microenterprises can develop absorptive capacity concentrating their efforts in the interorganizational relationships focused on suppliers and clients and in the intraorganizational ones centered on previous knowledge and sharing knowledge.

The study investigated undergraduate students’ perceptions of social media’s role in online recruitment for internships in Brazil. A qualitative multiple case study was applied using semi-structured interviews and direct observations of eight participants. Two themes emerged from the content analysis: vague internship postings and application barriers. The findings indicate that the information published on social media was insufficient to engage students to apply for the opened positions, and the format of online resumes prevented students from continuing the applications. Recommendations are offered to improve the recruitment processes of undergraduate interns using social media. In conclusion, the internship ads were left untouched by respondents due to the imprecision of their content, despite the ease of access provided by advanced communication technologies.

The CD-ERP model describes an approach to the collaborative development (CD) of information systems based on the framework of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This approach is proposed to solve the problem of IS development in Libyan Higher Education (LHE). This paper presents an assessment of IS performance at three Libyan Universities. The findings from these cases are analysed and discussed on the basis of selected models. This analysis indicates that the level of both the ISs implemented in LHE and the capability for in-house system development is low.

The aim of this study was to examine the strategies, instruments, and criteria of authentic evaluation that physical education teachers apply at the primary level, based on the planning and application of didactic sequences previously established for an intervention process. Initially and voluntarily, three physical education teachers participated from three different schools, one federal, one state, and one private, in Chihuahua State, Mexico. The research project was characterized as a multiple case study, where teachers participated in an authentic evaluation workshop and developed didactic sequences that were implemented to examine the application of strategies and instruments of authentic evaluation. The qualitative analysis of the observations, questionnaires, and interviews suggest that the application of these didactic sequences together with the use of authentic evaluation strategies, favored teaching performance and enriched the learning environment. The implications of the study point to the need to formalize and systematize the application of authentic evaluation strategies and instruments within basic education when these are causally related to the didactic sequences and the curriculum content.
