We find that although T c of Bi 2 Sr 2 Ca(Cu 1−x Co x ) 2 O y (0≤x≤0.1) samples decreases monotonously with increase of x, it increases by 10–30 K upon annealing in vacuum. Inverse photoemission spectroscopy (IPES) result indicates that the intensity of unoccupied O 2p states at Fermi level for the samples is decreased upon annealing. Roles of annealing and Co substitution in the samples are discussed.
