Projection operators relating trispinor representations to 5-tensor spinor representations of SO(5) representing spin-3/2 fields are explicitly constructed. Using these projection operators, we are able to analyze the structure of both totally symmetric and mixed symmetric trispinor fields, identifying 4-tensor spinors as the “base” sector of the totally symmetric Bargmann-Wigner field, and the Rarita-Schwinger 4-vector spinors as the “base” sector of mixed symmetric trispinors. The projectors allow us to derived connections relations that augment each base field with auxiliary components to completely specify the 5-tensor spinor representing each type of trispinor. These concepts were applied to obtain field equations and subsidiary equations by working only in the base sectors.

CIES2020 - XVII Congresso Ibérico e XIII Congresso Ibero-americano de Energia Solar RESUMEN: Este artículo describe los resultados de la caracterización técnica de un prototipo de bomba de calor fotovoltaica (BC-FV) hibridada con la red eléctrica, para aplicaciones de generación de frío para climatización de espacios. Esta caracterización se ha realizado con un algoritmo de control “inverter”, caracterizado por regular la frecuencia del compresor de la BC para mantener una temperatura de consigna en la habitación. Se han efectuado dos ensayos para dos temperaturas de consigna de 18 ºC y 24 ºC. Se han calculado indicadores de rendimiento del generador FV -PR, PRPV,CEM y 3 factores de utilización-, de la BC -EER y SPF- y de todo el conjunto del sistema -SFFV y SPFBC-FV,CEM, que se obtienen combinando todos los anteriores-. Los resultados muestran un buen comportamiento de los componentes del sistema. La calidad del acoplamiento entre ellos viene determinada fundamentalmente por el aprovechamiento del generador FV por parte del compresor que, a su vez, depende del dimensionado y de la temperatura de consigna establecida. ABSTRACT: This paper presents the results of the technical characterization of a photovoltaic heat pump (PV-HP) prototype connected to the electric grid, for space cooling applications. This characterization has been performed for an “inverter” control that regulates the frequency of the compressor for maintaining a certain temperature set point. Two test have been implemented for two different temperature set points, 18 ºC and 24 ºC. Several performance indicators have been calculated for the PV generator -PR, PRPV,CEM y 3 utilization ratios-, for the HP unit -EER y SPF- and for the whole system -SFFV y SPFBC-FV,CEM, which is obtained as a combination of all the others-. The results show a good performance of the system components. The quality of the coupling between them mosthly depends on the utilization of the PV generator, that is determined by the sizing of these components and by the temperature set point value. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Patient: Female, 22 Final Diagnosis: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome • hypermobility type Symptoms: Pregnancy Medication: — Clinical Procedure: Cesarean section Specialty: Anesthesiology Objective: Unusual clinical course Background: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility type is characterized by increased extensibility, permeability, and fragility of the affected cartilaginous tissues, including the trachea, larynx, and skin. Anesthetic considerations for patients with this syndrome include intubation difficulties secondary to the collapse of fibro-elastic tissues in the trachea and a reported resistance to local anesthetics. Case Report: Our patient was a 22-year-old G4P0030 woman with a history of morbid obesity, seizures, Barrett’s esophagus, hypermobility being evaluated for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and anaphylaxis to an unknown local anesthetic who was scheduled for cesarean delivery. She refused allergy testing. After rapid-sequence induction of general anesthesia, video laryngoscopy facilitated endotracheal intubation. Delivery and recovery were uneventful for the mother and child. Conclusions: No guidelines for neuraxial or general anesthesia exist for patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility type. Increased rates of cervical spine instability and local anesthetic resistance have been reported in this population and should be considered when developing the anesthetic plan.

Time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy (TD-NIRs) and Time-Domain Diffuse Correlation Spectroscopy (TD-DCS) are emerging imaging techniques that use a near-infrared, long coherence, pulsed laser to characterize oxygenation levels and blood flow. TD-DCS is a promising tool for bedside monitoring of brain activity due to its high time-resolution and portability. One potential new application area for TD-DCS is for detecting non-compressible torso hemorrhages (NCTH). NCTH is a serious traumatic injury that requires surgical intervention and is a leading cause of death in the military due to the lack of a rapid and portable imaging system sensitive enough to detect injury. Applying long wavelengths (1064 nm and 1120 nm) and time gating, TD-DCS can penetrate the superficial tissue layers and potentially detect bleeding deep within an organ. One limitation of current time-gating system is its reliance on full knowledge of the target tissue layers and properties in order to apply gating effectively. An automatic gating scheme that can adjust the time gate to quickly recalibrate itself to different imaging conditions, such as a different body area, can eliminate this limitation. Here, we use modeling and Monte Carlo simulations to search for characteristics in return signal profiles, specifically the time-of-flight and intensity profiles, as first step toward an automatic time-gating algorithm. We detail the simulation setups, parameter sweeps, and preliminary results in this report. These results show promise for TD-DCS as a tool for rapid and continuous monitoring of injuries in the field.

207. Copepod assemblages along a hydrothermal stress gradient at diffuse flow habitats within the ABE vent site (Eastern Lau Spreading Center, Southwest Pacific)

Copepoda is the most diverse and abundant taxon at deep-sea hydrothermal vents, contributing significantly to the biodiversity and thus is important in maintaining ecosystem functioning. To date we lack knowledge on meiofauna, specifically copepod community dynamics, in the entire region of the Eastern Lau Spreading Center. We explore abundance and diversity of copepods associated with foundation species thriving at distinct physiochemical regimes at the active vent site ABE. Diffuse flow habitats within ABE are dominated by three foundation species: (1) the snail Alviniconcha hessleri, exposed to average vent fluid temperatures of ~24 °C, (2) the snail Ifremeria nautilei at ~12 °C, and (3) the mussel Bathymodiolus septemdierum in average temperatures of ~6 °C. In each habitat, three samples were taken using a quantitative collection device (mussel-pot). Copepod abundance ranged from 1 to 30 ind. per 10 cm2, with no significant differences between the three habitats. A total of 18 copepod species were identified. In the Alviniconcha habitat, the vent endemic dirivultid copepod Stygiopontius lauensis dominated the community, representing >90% of the individuals. Species richness and Shannon diversity were significantly higher in the Bathymodiolus habitat, correlated with lower temperatures, lower hydrogen sulfide concentrations and higher oxygen concentrations. This increase in diversity was driven by a community mostly comprised of habitat generalists including genera reported from shallow coastal waters, shallow vents, and peripheral vent environments. This study provides the first quantification of biodiversity and community structure of copepods along a physiochemical stress gradient at a relatively stable Southwest Pacific vent site prospective for deep-sea mining.

- Abstract
Time is an indispensable and irreplaceable asset that cannot be altered, purchased, or stored. Its management acts as a vital component for the effective and efficient performance of students in the academic setting. Practicing good time management, implementing an ideal daily routine, and planning ahead of time could potentially improve the performance of students and promote positive academic outcomes. Time management should be considered as a feature that plays a crucial role in the improvement of students’ productivity apart from a favorable learning environment. The aim of this study is to understand the essence of time management among Medical Technology student leaders. Using the non-probability purposive sampling, twenty Medical Technology student leaders, with an age range of 19 to 22 years old, were selected to participate in an in-depth interview. Colaizzi’s method and Creswell method were used for data analysis. Findings uncovered four dimensions of time management as emerging themes: (1) view, (2) approach, (3) purpose, and (4) challenges. These dimensions of time management resulted in four respective outcomes: (1) a holistic lifestyle, (2) strong work ethic, (3) excellence, and (4) good health and well-being. The study highlights that time management is the cornerstone of the students' view of work-life satisfaction and excellence in their endeavors.

- Abstract
Glycemic traits are used to diagnose and monitor type 2 diabetes and cardiometabolic health. To date, most genetic studies of glycemic traits have focused on individuals of European ancestry. Here we aggregated genome-wide association studies comprising up to 281,416 individuals without diabetes (30% non-European ancestry) for whom fasting glucose, 2-h glucose after an oral glucose challenge, glycated hemoglobin and fasting insulin data were available. Trans-ancestry and single-ancestry meta-analyses identified 242 loci (99 novel; P < 5 x 10-8), 80% of which had no significant evidence of between-ancestry heterogeneity. Analyses restricted to individuals of European ancestry with equivalent sample size would have led to 24 fewer new loci. Compared with single-ancestry analyses, equivalent-sized trans-ancestry fine-mapping reduced the number of estimated variants in 99% credible sets by a median of 37.5%. Genomic-feature, gene-expression and gene-set analyses revealed distinct biological signatures for each trait, highlighting different underlying biological pathways. Our results increase our understanding of diabetes pathophysiology by using trans-ancestry studies for improved power and resolution.

- Abstract
Glycemic traits are used to diagnose and monitor type 2 diabetes and cardiometabolic health. To date, most genetic studies of glycemic traits have focused on individuals of European ancestry. Here we aggregated genome-wide association studies comprising up to 281,416 individuals without diabetes (30% non-European ancestry) for whom fasting glucose, 2-h glucose after an oral glucose challenge, glycated hemoglobin and fasting insulin data were available. Trans-ancestry and single-ancestry meta-analyses identified 242 loci (99 novel; P < 5 × 10−8), 80% of which had no significant evidence of between-ancestry heterogeneity. Analyses restricted to individuals of European ancestry with equivalent sample size would have led to 24 fewer new loci. Compared with single-ancestry analyses, equivalent-sized trans-ancestry fine-mapping reduced the number of estimated variants in 99% credible sets by a median of 37.5%. Genomic-feature, gene-expression and gene-set analyses revealed distinct biological signatures for each trait, highlighting different underlying biological pathways. Our results increase our understanding of diabetes pathophysiology by using trans-ancestry studies for improved power and resolution.

- Abstract
Aerogels are the lightest processed solid materials on Earth and with the largest empty volume fraction in their structure. Composition versatility, modularity, and feasibility of industrial scale manufacturing are behind the fast emergence of aerogels in the drug delivery field. Compared to other 3D materials, the high porosity (interconnected mesopores) and high specific surface area of aerogels may allow faster loading of small-molecule drugs, less constrained access to inner regions of the matrix, and more efficient interactions of the biological milieu with the polymer matrix. Processing in supercritical CO2 medium for both aerogel production (drying) and drug loading (impregnation) has remarkable advantages such as absence of an oxidizing environment, clean manufacture, and easiness for the scale-up under good manufacturing practices. The aerogel solid skeleton dictates the chemical affinity to the different drugs, which in turn determines the loading efficiency and the release pattern. Aerogels can be used to increase the solubility of BCS Class II and IV drugs because the drug can be deposited in amorphous state onto the large surface area of the skeleton, which facilitates a rapid contact with the body fluids, dissolution, and release. Conversely, tuning the aerogel structure by functionalization with drug-binding moieties or stimuli-responsive components, application of coatings and incorporation of drug-loaded aerogels into other matrices may enable site-specific, stimuli-responsive, or prolonged drug release. The present review deals with last decade advances in aerogels for drug delivery. An special focus is paid first on the loading efficiency of active ingredients and release kinetics under biorelevant conditions. Subsequent sections deal with aerogels intended to address specific therapeutic demands. Pascale, Naples, Italy *These authors contributed equally to this work Purpose: Pertuzumab, a novel anti-epidermal growth factor receptor 2 humanized monoclonal antibody, and trastuzumab-emtansine (TDM1), a novel antibody–drug conjugate made up of trastuzumab covalently linked to the highly potent microtubule inhibitory agent DM1, have been recently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for increasing the efficiency and safety of breast cancer therapy with trastuzumab. We investigated for the first time the potential cardiotoxic effects of pertuzumab and TDM1, which are not yet fully elucidated, and we tested whether ranolazine could blunt their cardiotoxicity.Methods: The cardiotoxic effects were tested in vitro on rat cardiomyoblasts, human fetal cardiomyocytes, adult-like cardiomyocytes, and in vivo on a mouse model.Results: All the treated cardiac cell lines were significantly affected by treatment with the tested drugs. Surprisingly, TDM1 showed stronger inhibitory effects on cardiac cells with respect to trastuzumab and pertuzumab by more significantly reducing the cell viability and by changing the morphology of these cells. TDM1 also affected the beating phenotype of adult-like cardiomyocytes in vitro and reduced fractional shortening and ejection fraction in vivo in a mouse model. We also found that ranolazine attenuated not only the cardiotoxic side effects of trastuzumab but also those of pertuzumab and TDM1, when used in combinatorial treatments both in vitro and in vivo, as demonstrated by the recovery of fractional shortening and ejection fraction values in mice pretreated with TDM1.Conclusion: We demonstrated that it is possible to predict the eventual cardiotoxic effects of novel approved anticancer drugs early by using in vitro and in vivo approaches, which can also be useful to screen in advance the cardioprotective agents, so as to avoid the onset of unwanted cardiotoxic side effects.
