High mechanical properties and flame retardancy of epoxy are important for its applications. A novel star-shaped flame-retardant 5,10-dihydro-phenohphosphazine-10-oxide functioned triazine (TRIDPPA) with high efficiency is synthesized, and its structure is characterized. TRIDPPA is used as the co-curing agent for diglycidyl ether of the bisphenol A/4,4-diaminodiphenyl methane system. The introduction of TRIDPPA greatly improves the flame retardancy of the cured epoxy resins. The epoxy resin (ER)/TRIDDPA1.0 resin acquires a limiting oxygen index value of 30.7% and UL-94 V-0 rating when the mass fraction of TRIDDPA is 1.0 wt% with only 0.086 wt% of phosphorus content. The cross-link density of ER/TRIDDPA1.0 is increased, and the glass transition temperature is improved by 5°C. Besides, tensile strength and toughness of ER/TRIDDPA1.0 are also enhanced. Objective Recent studies have demonstrated that Sinomenine (SIN) exerted anti-inflammatory effect in various immune-related diseases. However, the effect of SIN on glucocorticoids dermatitis has not been investigated. In our study, we aimed to explore the effect of SIN on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammatory injury in HaCaT cells. Materials and methods We constructed an inflammatory injury model of LPS-induced HaCaT cells, then SIN was added to LPS-treated cells, cell viability, apoptosis, apoptosis-associated factors and inflammatory cytokines were detected by CCK-8, flow cytometry, western blot, qRT-PCR and ELISA. Subsequently, miR-101 mimic and mimic control were transfected into HaCaT cells to investigate the effect of SIN and miR-101 on LPS-induced cells injury. Furthermore, MKP-1 and JNK signal pathways were measured by qRT-PCR and western blot. Finally, the animal experiment was performed to further clarify the effect of SIN on inflammatoty injury. Results LPS suppressed cell viability, promoted apoptosis and increased IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α expressions and secretions in HaCaT cells. SIN significantly alleviated LPS-induced HaCaT cells injury. Additionally, SIN down-regulated miR-101 expression, and the protective effect of SIN on LPS-induced inflammatory injury was abolished by miR-101 overexpression. Besides, SIN promoted MKP-1 expression by down-regulation of miR-101, and SIN inhibited JNK signal pathway by up-regulation of MKP-1 expression in LPS-treated HaCaT cells. Animal experiments revealed that SIN exhibited anti-inflammatory effects in vivo . Conclusions The data indicated that SIN attenuated LPS-induced inflammatory injury by regulation of miR-101, MKP-1 and JNK pathway. Defects analysis and tool optimization of the hot forged automotive balance shaft were conducted based on 3D and 2D finite element (FE) simulations in order to improve forging quality and productivity. In practice, folding was observed on the forgings. 3D simulation of the whole forging process was implemented to observe the defect morphology, which was consistent with the actual. Meanwhile, the formation and thickness of folding were analyzed by using 2D simulation. According to the results, the metal flow folded into the closed ring at the stiffened rib when the metal transited through the cavity. The folding location was determined by large temperature gradient, big rotation angle, high damage value, and low metal flow velocity. The thickness of the folding was less than 5 mm. Finally, the forging tools were redesigned by increasing draft angle and fillet radius on preforging dies. Forgings without defects were obtained in simulation and practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Our pilot research revealed that the dielectric constant of polyimide (PI) can be reduced and the modulus can be improved by assembling necklace-like interlocking complexes with crown ethers. Not only did we find that these properties of the PI complex still cannot adequately meet the demand of practical applications but also that there was a deterioration in its thermal stability. A functional octa(aminopropyl)silsesquioxane (OAPrS) with a significantly rigid Si-O-Si cage was incorporated into an 18-crown-6 (CE6)-PI (CE6-PI) complex to produce inorganic-organic OAPrS/CE6-PI nanocomposites. By exploiting the synergetic effect of OAPrS and CE6, most properties of the PI were clearly improved. In the case of 3.9 wt% OAPrS and 7.8 wt% CE6, the dielectric constant of PI was reduced by 30%, and Young's modulus and the tensile strength were increased by 106% and 23%, respectively. In addition, the thermal stability of the CE6-PI complex was modified, and its 5% weight loss temperature and glass transition temperature were increased by 31.2 and 11.2 °C, respectively, with the incorporation of 3.9 wt% OAPrS. Low dielectric constant is desired for polyimide to be used in microelectronic industry. In the present study, a series of porous graphene fluoroxide/polyimide (GFO/pPI) nanocomposite films with improved dielectric and mechanical properties were fabricated. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) was introduced into the system to play the roles of an intercalator in exfoliation of graphite fluoroxide and a blowing agent in preparation of porous structure. The in-situ bubble-stretching, resulting from PEG decomposition during the thermal imidization, not only hindered the agglomeration of GFO nanosheets, but also generated micro-pores in PI matrix. Both the porous structure and the GFO nanosheets significantly decreased the dielectric constant of composite films, and the load transfer between GFO and PI matrix efficiently improved the mechanical properties of composite films. A very low dielectric constant of 2.29 as well as high tensile modulus of 4.43 GPa and tensile strength of 159 MPa was obtained for the composite film with the GFO loading of only 0.30 wt%. In addition, the glass transition temperature of GFO/pPI films was increased from 355 °C to 388 °C, and the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of GFO/pPI films was decreased from 48.7 ppm/K to 24.9 ppm/K. A halogen-free flame retardant of 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide-containing H-benzimidazole (DHBI) was synthesized and subsequently used as co-curing agent of 4,4′-diamino-diphenylmethane for diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A. The structure of DHBI was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, proton, carbon 13 and phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectroscopy. A series of cured epoxy resins (EPs) were prepared and their flame retardancy, thermal stability, flexibility, and dielectric properties were investigated. The resulting cured EP (EP-10) with 7.45 wt% of DHBI successfully achieved UL 94 V-0 rate with limited oxygen index of 35.6% and without dropping phenomenon. Compared with the cured pristine EP (EP-00), the glass transition temperature of EP-10 was increased by 6.9°C, accompanied with an enhancement of flexible strength by 13.1 MPa and a decrement of dielectric constant by 0.3 at the testing frequency of 1 MHz. A reactive type dripping anti-condensation agent, Span 60-IAH, was grafted onto linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) by β-ray pre-irradiation and reactive extrusion. Effects of total dose, monomer concentration and extrusion temperature and rate on the degree of grafting were studied in detail. It was shown that the optimum conditions for grafting were the extrusion temperature of 130–220°C, screw run speed of 90 rpm and total β-ray dose of 12.5 kGy. The structure of the LLDPE-g-(Span 60-IAH) (LS) was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The tensile properties and light transmission properties of extruded films were determined. The thermal behavior of the LS was investigated by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Compared with pure LLDPE, the crystallization temperature (Tc) of LS increased about 3°C. Accelerated dripping properties of film samples were investigated. The dripping duration of the LS film and a commercial anti-fog dripping film at 60°C were 45 days and 17 days, respectively, indicating a significant improvement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
