206. Multi-Omics Approach Reveals OsPIL1as a Regulator Promotes Rice Growth, Grain Development, and Blast Resistance

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa) is a crucial crop, achieving high yield concurrent pathogen resistance remains a challenge. Transcription factors play roles in growth and abiotic tolerance. However, rice phytochrome-interacting factor-like 1 (OsPIL1) in pathogen resistance and agronomic traits remains unexplored. We generated OsPIL1overexpressing (OsPIL1OE) rice lines and evaluated their impact on growth, grain development, and resistance to Magnaporthe oryzae. Multiomics analysis (RNA-seq, metabolomics, and CUT&Tag) and RT-qPCR validated OsPIL1target genes and key metabolites. In the results, OsPIL1OE rice lines exhibited robust growth, longer grains, and enhanced resistance to M. oryzaewithout compromising growth. Integrative multiomics analysis revealed a coordinated regulatory network centered on OsPIL1, explaining these desirable traits. OsPIL1likely acts as a positive regulator, targeting transcriptional elements or specific genes with direct functions in several biological programs. In particular, a range of key signaling genes (phosphatases, kinases, plant hormone genes, transcription factors), and metabolites (linolenic acid, vitamin E, trigonelline, d-glucose, serotonin, choline, genistein, riboflavin) contributed to enhanced rice growth, grain size, pathogen resistance, or a combination of these traits. These findings highlight OsPIL1’s regulatory role in promoting important traits and provide insights into potential strategies for rice breeding.

207. Thin-Volume Image-Type Angular Displacement Measurement Based on Point Light Reflection

Abstract

Image-type angular displacement measurement technology based on image recognition algorithm is a high-performance displacement measurement technology with high robustness and fault tolerance. In our previous research, using parallel light sources to illuminate the grating disk can achieve high measurement resolution and measurement accuracy. However, due to the optical path height of the transmission displacement measurement, the measurement volume cannot be further reduced in the axial direction. Therefore, a thin-volume image-type displacement measurement (IDM) was proposed here based on point light reflection. First, to reduce the volume of the measuring optical path, a reflective imaging optical path was designed using a point light. Second, to improve robustness of reflective imaging displacement measurements, an absolute encoding method was proposed based on Manchester encoding. Third, based on the encoding pattern used, a decoding and subdivision algorithm was derived. Finally, the resulting method was verified by experimentation. In these experiments, the axial height of the test measuring optical path was only 6 mm. Based on Manchester encoding, the method achieved more than 25-bit measurement resolution and $3.11^{\prime \prime }$ error standard deviation when the grating encoder at 86 mm. This research greatly reduced the optical path volume of angular displacement measurements, providing a technical basis for thin-volume and high-performance photoelectric displacement measurement.

208. Improved Parasitic Capacitance-Predictively Aware DTCO: Enhanced Cell Efficiency With Manufacturability and Scalability for 4F2 VCT-Based DRAM

Abstract

The 4F2 cell architecture dynamic random access memory (DRAM) has emerged as a candidate for high-density future DRAM, meeting performance, power, area, and cost (PPAC) targets. This study proposes an improved parasitic capacitance-predictively aware design technology co-optimization (DTCO) flow that optimizes the bitline (BL) capacitance from structure and process perspectives, emphasizing manufacturability and scalability. A novel BL process flow is developed to optimize BL capacitance with scalability, utilizing a high-accuracy 3-D field solver for parasitic capacitance extraction of the vertical channel transistor (VCT) array. When air gap is used as the novel BL spacer, the BL capacitance decreases by 49.5%. In addition, we investigate and optimize the PPAC of the DRAM one transistor and one capacitor (1T1C) cell. The novel BL of 4F2 VCT-based 1T1C DRAM demonstrates a 66.6% reduction in BL dynamic power consumption during read/write operations, with 9.4% and 11.6% enhancement in read speed when reading data “1” and “0,” respectively. Moreover, a 58.8% reduction in cell array area and lower costs is yielded compared with the current VCT.

Abstract

Vertebrate fossils are abundant in sandy mudstones of the Cretaceous Donggou Formation in the Sikeshu area, southern margin of the Junggar Basin, Xinjiang. Here, a few pycnodont remains from the Sikeshu area are described. Isolated elements are identified as a fragment of vomer and a fragment of prearticular referred to Xinjiangodus gyrodoides. These specimens are very small, corresponding to small pycnodont individuals. The larger specimens found in the Late Cretaceous in the United Kingdom, Spain, Morocco, and the United States were mostly from marine sediments, whereas the small specimens described here lived in continental paleoenvironments. The fossils are buried in situ, and their preservation methods involve carbonaceous pressing film and carbonate mineralization, of which carbonate mineralization is the main method. This research result fills the gap in Cretaceous Stenodon data in the Junggar Basin and provides important fossil data for the study of Cretaceous Stenodon in the Junggar Basin and even in Central Asia. This study provides a new perspective for understanding the paleoecology of inland lakes in western China at the end of the Cretaceous. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

246. The potential of high-order features of routine blood test in predicting the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer.

Abstract

Background: Numerous studies have demonstrated that the high-order features (HOFs) of blood test data can be used to predict the prognosis of patients with different types of cancer. Although the majority of blood HOFs can be divided into inflammatory or nutritional markers, there are still numerous that have not been classified correctly, with the same feature being named differently. It is an urgent need to reclassify the blood HOFs and comprehensively assess their potential for cancer prognosis. Methods: Initially, a review of existing literature was conducted to identify the high-order features (HOFs) and classify them based on their calculation method. Subsequently, a cohort of patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was established, and their clinical information prior to treatment was collected, including low-order features (LOFs) obtained from routine blood tests. The HOFs were then computed and their associations with clinical features were examined. Using the LOF and HOF data sets, a deep learning algorithm called DeepSurv was utilized to predict the prognostic risk values. The effectiveness of each data set's prediction was evaluated using the decision curve analysis (DCA). Finally, a prognostic model in the form of a nomogram was developed, and its accuracy was assessed using the calibration curve. Results: From 1210 documents, over 160 blood HOFs were obtained, arranged into 110, and divided into three distinct categories: 76 proportional features, 6 composition features, and 28 scoring features. Correlation analysis did not reveal a strong association between blood features and clinical features; however, the risk value predicted by the DeepSurv LOF- and HOF-models is significantly linked to the stage. Results from DCA showed that the HOF model was superior to the LOF model in terms of prediction, and that the risk value predicted by the blood data model could be employed as a complementary factor to enhance the prognosis of patients. A nomograph was created with a C-index value of 0.74, which is capable of providing a reasonably accurate prediction of 1-year and 3-year overall survival for patients.
