Abstract

This study reports a strategy for further simplifying the synthesis process of polyaniline-modified graphene (An/G) nanocomposite. For this purpose, the An/G nanocomposite was prepared by expanded graphite (EG) and aniline (An) via in situ polymerization. The structures and morphologies of the An/G nanocomposite were examined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. The results show that the An/G nanocomposite was synthesized successfully. The coatings were prepared using polyaniline (PANI) and An/G as the fillers and epoxy resin as the matrix. The anti-corrosion performance was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, Tafel polarization curve and salt immersion test. When An/G100 nanocomposite with a mass ratio of An to EG of 100:1 as a filler is used, the coating on the steel exhibited superior anti-corrosion effect. In particular, the impedance at 0.01 Hz of the coating with the An/G100 nanocomposite at a low loading of 2 wt% (An/G100-2) remained constant above 1 × 1010 Ω·cm2 for up to 35 days in 3.5 wt% sodium chloride solution. The Tafel plots reveal that the undamaged zone of the An/G100-2 coating possessed a high corrosion potential of −0.16 V, and the corrosion current density was only 1.5 × 10−11 A cm−2. The protective mechanism of graphene and PANI is discussed.

Abstract

Few-shot representation learning is one of the most challenging tasks in machine learning research field. The related applications including gun image retrieval usually achieve limited performance due to the lack of learning samples. In this paper, We propose a flexible and conceptually straightforward framework for few-shot gun image retrieval. We use ResNet as backbone network and design a hierarchical loss system based on auxiliary attributes extracted from different layers. Enhanced by a series of auxiliary attributes, discriminative features are learned efficiently. Experiments on a gun image dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. In addition, it is worth noting that our framework can be easily extended to other few-shot learning tasks.

Abstract

Exploring new materials and methods to achieve high utilization of sulfur with lean electrolyte is still a common concern in lithium‐sulfur batteries. Here, high‐density oxygen doping chemistry is introduced for making highly conducting, chemically stable sulfides with a much higher affinity to lithium polysulfides. It is found that doping large amounts of oxygen into NiCo2S4 is feasible and can make it outperform the pristine oxides and natively oxidized sulfides. Taking the advantages of high conductivity, chemical stability, the introduced large Li–O interactions, and activated Co (Ni) facets for catalyzing Sn2–, the NiCo2(O–S)4 is able to accelerate the Li2S‐S8 redox kinetics. Specifically, lithium‐sulfur batteries using free‐standing NiCo2(O–S)4 paper and interlayer exhibit the highest capacity of 8.68 mAh cm–2 at 1.0 mA cm–2 even with a sulfur loading of 8.75 mg cm–2 and lean electrolyte of 3.8 µL g–1. The high‐density oxygen doping chemistry can be also applied to other metal compounds, suggesting a potential way for developing more powerful catalysts towards high performance of Li–S batteries. Abstract

In order to investigate the color test effect, influencing factors, extraction times, quality of subsequent hyperspectral analysis, ease of use, and cost of the transfer medias used in Gunshot Residues (GSR) at impact point, BenchKote, photo paper (230 g), color laser paper (160 g), white cardboard (260 g), super slippery paper (300 g) were compared to wet extract GSR from textiles, and used dithiooxamide (DTO), sodium rhodizonate to visualize GSR, and then performed a confirmatory analysis of the hyperspectral imager. And the color laser paper (160 g) was identified as the best choice. The experiment involved two gun calibers six distances and the dryness and wetting constitutions of textiles. The combination of chemical color test and hyperspectral imager was explored. It provided the possibility for multiple extractions to collect and fix evidence, rapid appearance on the impact point, analyze the gun type and shooting distance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which have recently achieved more than 25% efficiency, are highly promising candidates for renewable energy generation. However, the interface of these solar cells is not yet fully understood. Herein, we used self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) to regulate the interface of a SnO2 electron transport layer (ETL) and a common MAPbI3 perovskite absorber. Three different monolayers indicate that the contiguous terminal groups and charge distribution of their molecules influence interfacial properties and photovoltaic performance. Aligned energy levels, lower surface tension, and higher quality perovskite crystallization were obtained after SAM regulation. Consequently, applying a 4‐(trifluoromethyl) benzoic acid (BA‐CF3) SAM improved the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the resulting PSC from 16.84% to 18.67%. Moreover, a high open‐circuit voltage (VOC) of 1.160 V was achieved with significantly reduced defects and non‐radiative recombination.
