CLOTHING industry ,MANUFACTURING processes ,AUGMENTED reality ,COVID-19 pandemic ,TEXTILES ,CAD/CAM systems - Abstract
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, engineering professions are adapting to the new conditions of working at home. For clothing patternmakers, it means the necessity to purchase both CAD/CAM systems and machinery to print markers and patterns. These devices take a lot of place at home. The same troubles suffer small clothing manufacturers and experimental departments of the large ones. Besides that, the printers and plotters must be mandatorily disposed of. They need a lot of toners, and they are expensive. Paper patterns produced in this way are used only once; after that, they become paper junk that is rarely correctly disposed of. Thus, the article aims to analyze and select a fabric cutting technique that would allow a user to avoid printing patterns. We considered different options, such as augmented reality applications and projection techniques, which have been popularized recently due to the increased numbers of available projectors on the market. Though AR is a promising method of transmitting patterns on the fabric, AR techniques are not developed enough for fabric cutting in apparel manufacturing. Thus, the projection technique was selected as a prospective one. The authors tested the technique. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DANCE techniques ,MODERN dance ,COSTUME ,DANCE costume ,DANCERS ,MOTION - Abstract
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, there was a great need to bring almost all aspects of human life online. It significantly influenced the work of fitness, gyms, and choreographic groups. Since control over the performance of elements plays an essential role in dancing, this study aims to create a training costume for reading the dynamics of movements of a classical dance dancer. A preliminary analysis of smart technologies used in clothing was carried out. The selected wearable technologies for data reading allowed the construction of the built-in technology for the dance costume. Two prototypes of dance costumes for girls were made. They consist of bodysuits and tights, over which a chiton is put on. The study of the dynamics of movements that was performed by photogrammetry and video recording showed the necessity of using the sensors for movement tracking. The constructed built-in technology is based on the Arduino platform. It was confirmed that this technology meets the requirements of consumers' safety, ensures their comfort, and does not depend on the composition of the fabric. The results of the prototypes' assessments with the use of Kansei engineering showed that the costume made of synthetic fabrics was favored by dancers better. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In crop production, the harvesting and use of cuttings of various fruit crops implies their saturation with various media to stimulate cuttings before germination or to increase moisture to the desired level. In this work, a vacuum-infiltration method is proposed for active saturation of plant objects of tubular capillary structure with various media. The advantage of this method is justified over the traditional method of passive soaking. As objects of research were used one-, two- and three-node cuttings with open cuts of apple-tree variety Bely Naliv, apricot variety Melitopolsky and grape variety Shevchenko. It is defined that vacuum-infiltration at a vacuum level of 550 mm Hg does not have a damaging effect on the cuttings, as evidenced by the viability and the time of development of the buds on the cuttings during their cultivation in phytotron conditions. The effectiveness of the active saturation method is shown in a comparative visual assessment of the intensity of staining of the cuttings after vacuum-infiltration and the soaking method. It is determined that the time of saturation of single-nodal cuttings of grapes with an aqueous solution of eosin by the method of vacuum-infiltration is up to 12 sec, while by the soaking method it takes up to 6 hours. It is illustrated the possibility of effective saturation of grape cuttings with solutions of sucrose and glycerin with concentration up to 50%. It is shown that the time of active saturation of cuttings with various solutions depends on their species structure and the number of buds. The proposed method of vacuum infiltration reduces the time of saturation of the plant’s captive parts with stimulating media, more than 10 times. It permits to restore the initial moisture of the cuttings after storage without the stage of soaking. The effective saturation of one-, two- and three-node grape cuttings with media of different viscosity by vacuum infiltration does not exceed 6 minutes, what allows the use of this method in cryobiology.

General Relativity and Quantum Cosmology - Abstract
The fundamental features of the detection of non-stationary undulatory perturbations of metrics based on the interference effects are considered. The advantage of the Aharonov-Bohm effect in superconductors for these purposes in comparison with the ordinary optical interference is demonstrated. Some circuitries of the interferometric detectors in order to be used with SQUID are suggested. The possibilities of lowering the noise temperature of the ultraweak signals detectors based on the analogy between the processes of high-sensitive measurements and the reversible calculations are discussed., Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures, presented at Moscow Satellite PIRT Meeting (30 June - 03 July 2003)

A new system for the generation of hydrodynamic modulation voltammetry (HMV) is presented. This system consists of an oscillating jet produced through the mechanical vibration of a large membrane/piston. The structure of the cell is such that a relatively small vibration is transferred to a large (~ 1 m s-1) fluid flow at the jet outlet. High-speed imaging of the system shows vortex behaviour of the flow at the exit of the jet. Positioning of an electrode over the exit of this jet enables the detection of the modulated flow of liquid. The periodic character of the signal recorded at the electrode allows a “lock-in” approach to be employed. This enables discrimination of the background processes signal from the mass transport component. This is demonstrated for Fe(CN)6 3-/4- 3-/4-. Here “lock-in” to the modulated hydrodynamic signal is achieved through the deployment of bespoke software. The apparatus and procedure is shown to produce a simple and efficient way to obtain the desired signal. In addition the spatial variation of the HMV signal, phase correction and time averaged current with respect to the jet orifice is presented. The detection limit for the analysing system is shown to be 45 × 10-9 mol dm-3. The HMV method is employed to study the reduction of molecular oxygen at high surface area (HI-Pt) modified electrodes. The successful elimination of background signals is achieved for the 0.5 mm diameter nanostructured Pt electrode with roughness factor (RF) of 42.4. Employment of higher roughness factors (>50) HIPt electrodes revealed an anomalous “drop off” effect characterising these electrodes. It is demonstrated that the “drop off” is not caused by the hydrogen peroxide production at the electrode or pH change near the electrode surface. However, a clear dependence of the current deflection on the roughness factor of the electrodes is observed. The shape of the “drop off” followed the shape of the hydrogen adsorption region. It is suggested that the surface characteristics of the electrodes are important in these investigations. It is proposed here, that the capacitance of the electrode influences the HMV signal. Another type of hydrodynamic modulation method, specifically a vibrating 50 μm diameter Pt or Au wire or “tight-rope” electrode was studied. High frequency modulation (80 Hz) is employed. FFT data processing was employed to extract the desired signal from the total current. This technique was applied to study reduction of molecular oxygen at the modulated electrodes. A current “drop off” in hydride region was again observed. This is shown to be related to the uncompensated resistance of the cell. In particular, the resistance of the reference electrode is demonstrated to contribute to this effect

Condensed Matter - Materials Science - Abstract
Key circumstance of radical progress for technology of XXI century is the development of a technique which provides controllable producing three-dimensional patterns incorporating regions of nanometer sizes and required physical and chemical properties. Our paper for the first time proposes the method of purposeful direct transformation of the most important substance physical properties, such as electrical, magnetic, optical and others by controllable modification of solid state atomic constitution. The basis of the new technology is discovered by us effect of selective atom removing out of thin di- and polyatomic films by beams of accelerated particles. Potentials of that technique have been investigated and confirmed by our numerous experiments. It has been shown, particularly, that selective atom removing allows to transform in a controllable way insulators into metals, non-magnetics into magnetics, to change radically optical features and some other properties of materials. The opportunity to remove selectively atoms of a certain sort out of solid state compounds is, as such, of great interest in creating technology associated primarily with needs of nanoelectronics as well as many other "nano-problems" of XXI century., Comment: 22 pages, PDF, 9 figures

Introduction. The article analyzes the problem of manipulation and the influence of students’ manipulative inclinations on interpersonal relationships. A theoretical study of this problem shows the existence of opposite points of view on the phenomenon of manipulation, where, on the one hand, it is considered as a destructive process that destroys interpersonal relationships, and on the other hand, when used for humane purposes, leading to positive results in relations between people. Materials and Methods. The results of an empirical study of the manipulative qualities and interpersonal relations of students of various areas of training using a set of methods are presented: methods of manipulative attitude (according to the Bant scale); methods of diagnosing interpersonal relations T. Leary; test for Machiavellianism (Mac-V); statistical data processing methods: Mann – Whitney U-test, Pearson correlation analysis. Results. Statistically significant differences between manipulative inclinations and Machiavellianism of students of various areas of training were revealed. With the help of correlation analysis, statistically significant relationships were established between students’ manipulative inclinations and a low level of friendliness and a high level of dominance in interpersonal relationships. Discussion and Conclusion. The results obtained confirm the assumption that the manipulative tendencies of students of various areas of training negatively affect the nature of interpersonal relationships, since they are largely based on an unfriendly attitude towards others and the desire to dominate other people.

The analysis of alternative decisions and the choice of the optimal – in a given sense – decision is an integral part of people’s purposeful activity in all areas of their social life. Many formal approaches have been proposed to solve these problems. One such approach is expected utility theory, which correctly models individuals’ subjective preferences and attitudes to risk. For a very long time this theory was the leading approach for decision making under conditions of risk. However, numerous practical studies have shown its weakness: the theory did not explicitly use subjective perceptions of decision outcome probabilities in optimal decision-making processes. This research has led to the creation and development of approaches to explicitly consider the probabilities of outcomes in decision making. This paper provides a critical analysis of the descriptive properties of expected utility theory and presents various forms of probability weighting functions.

- Abstract
The influence of the nitrogen form (nitrate, amide, nitrate-ammonium) in the composition of the nutrient solution on the electrical characteristics of a bioelectrochemical system based on the electrogenic properties of lettuce was studied. The dynamics of the bioelectric potential (BEP) in the root environment-plants system, biometric and biochemical parameters of plant production using various nutrient solutions during the cultivation of lettuce by the panoponic method in intensive artificial lightculture have been registered. The average BEP value was 243 mV when using the nitrate form of nitrogen in the nutrient solution, 147 mV for the amide form and 178 mV for the nitrate-ammonium form. The maximum observed potential difference was characteristic of the variant containing nitrogen in the nitrate form, which probably indicates the potential-forming role of NO3-. An increase in the concentration of positive ions (Ca2+, K+, NH4+) on the lower electrode and negative (NO3-) on the upper one was noted, which corresponds to the polarity observed in the BES – the upper electrode is electronegative relative to the lower one. It is shown that the nutrient solution containing nitrogen in the nitrate form was the best in terms of size and stability of the studied options. The diffusion of ions in the root environment during the life of plants can become a new alternative source of electricity.

International audience; A new one-pot approach for the synthesis of the Zn2+-sensitive probes 2-azahetaryl-2-(oxoindolin-2-ylidene)acetonitriles 3a–c and 4 is described. The method includes the in situ formation of imidoylchloride and its further condensation with azahetarylacetonitrile 1. The structure of the obtained compounds is studied using 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C NMR, infrared (IR), high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), and UV–Vis spectroscopy techniques. Two model ligands both exhibiting the highest extinction coefficient and the best solubility in a Tris buffer pH 7.2/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution, namely 5-methyl-benzothiazole derivative 3b and benzoxazole derivative 4, are thoroughly studied as colorimetric probes for Zn2+. The probe 3b has the highest sensitivity to Zn2+, showing a limit of ion detection (LOD) calculated by the 3S criterion of 0.43 μM and selectivity upon masking Cu2+ ions with Na2S2O3. The composition of the complexes in the solution was determined by the limited logarithm method. The stability constant (lg K) values of 3b-Zn of 10.27 ± 0.02 and 4-Zn of 12.5 ± 0.2 indicate the formation of complexes of average stability.

Living during a COVID-19 pandemic has negative effects on a person's psychophysiological state such as high-stress levels, leading to poor health, chronic fatigue and insomnia. As a result, the immunity is reduced, which is particularly dangerous today. One way to solve this problem is the use of health-saving clothing, which has additional features that provide the positive effect on the wearer’s body. The developed gloves affect the state of the human autonomic nervous system through biological-active locations in the places of the hand and wrist. An anthropometric study of the biological-active locations of the wrist and hand is performed to construct the glove design. An algorithm for constructing a drawing of the design of the designed product based on four measurements is proposed. The effectiveness of the adaptive gloves is confirmed by studying its effect on the psycho-emotional and psychophysiological state of a person without exposure to the product and after its use by software "Intera-Diacor" and "ROFES", and a questionnaire. The evaluation is performed after wearing gloves for 20-40 minutes. It was found that 83.3 % of the wearers of the health-saving gloves showed positive changes in the body's compensatory forces (stress) and the state of internal emotional fatigue. Thus, the use of health-saving gloves has a positive social, therapeutic (health-saving) and economic effect, as the product has several functions It is an accessory fashion, has hand protection, and, has additional features to positively influence the body of the person wearing it. This allows the future to talk about the use of consumer-friendly and effective ways to correct the men's psychoemotional and psychophysiological states, based on the safer-by-design concept.

The paper presents the results of electron microscopic studies of ferrite-martensitic steel samples hardened with Y-O oxides, EP-450 DUO in the initial state and after neutron irradiation in the BN-600 reactor at 1000°C to a damaging dose of 77.5 dpa. These studies showed that the main types of oxide phases were Y2(Si, Ti)2O7 and Y2(Si, Ti)O5. These precipitates at sizes less than 10-20 nm were semi-coherent with a ferritic matrix of steel EP-450 DUO with the ratio (110)malrix//(221)palticle. Some of the Y-Ti-O oxides in the initial state were Y2Ti2O7-type with some deviations from the stoichiometric composition. However, after neutron irradiation under BN-600 conditions at temperature ~ 1000°C, oxide particles could not be described by the indicated stoichiometry. Besides, after irradiation, silicon and aluminum were found in the oxide's composition. In the case of taking these elements into account during the construction of a triple composition diagram, it was shown that the oxide phases had Y2(Ti, Si, Al)2O7 and Y2(Ti, Si, Al)O5 types. It was established that in samples of EP-450 DUO steel in the initial state with oxide particles up to 20 nm in size, the yttrium content is generally lower than the titanium concentration. The titanium and yttrium concentrations corresponded to the stoichiometric composition Y2Ti2O7 (1:1) with a further increase in the average diameter of these phases. After irradiation, the situation changed somewhat: the yttrium content in most oxide phases exceeds the total concentration of titanium, silicon, and aluminum. The paper also presents the analysis of porosity and evolution of grain structure in EP-450 DUO steel after neutron irradiation.

The influence of the grain structure and phase composition of welded seams of WWER-type reactors on their operational characteristics in the initial state is analyzed. Comprehensive studies of welds with various structures formed as a result of welding using various technologies have been carried out. It is shown that differences in the phase composition and morphology of the grain structure of the weld metal in the initial state, which is characterized by an increased proportion of columnar grains and a higher density of carbide phases, lead to an increase in the yield strength and critical brittleness temperature of welded joints.

Introduction. The regional geographic information system, being a tool for information and analytical support for making managerial decisions, has been widely used in almost all areas of the Federal Service in the field of consumer protection and human well-being, increasing their effectiveness and efficiency. Purpose. To analyze the effectiveness of the use of a regional geographic information system in solving the problems of the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the region and to assess the prospects for the development of this system in the activities of the service. Material and methods. Retrospective analysis of the results of the adopted management decisions to improve the state of the environment and health of the population based on the implemented regional geographic information system. Results. The conducted retrospective analysis showed the high efficiency of using regional geoinformation systems when performing environmental and hygienic studies to assess the state of public health, environmental pollution, and in particular, to establish cause-and-effect relationships between the influence of environmental factors on public health and medical demographic indicators. Limitations. The limitation of the study is due to the inability to analyze the long-term experience of using geoinformation systems in solving the problems of sanitary and epidemiological well-being, as well as the lack of indicators of the effectiveness of their use on examples from other regions. Conclusion. The use of geoinformation technologies makes it possible for the authorities of the region to visually present information on priority hygienic and epidemiological problems in a particular administrative territory, and helps to determine the priorities for developing measures aimed at preserving the health of the population.

This paper analyses the behavioral features of ohmic contacts under the conditions of traditional isothermal annealing. The purpose of this paper is to study the value change of the semiconductor contact resistance when applying electric current pulses of different powers. For the experiments, structures were formed of metal-sublayer-semiconductor wafer Al–(Ti, Ni, Mo)–Si. The quality control of the deposited films was carried out microscopically by the four-probe method. The presented results indicate the solid-phase interaction of components during diffusion annealing Si–Me–Al thin-film systems. This rearrangement of atoms, which occurs with grain-boundary diffusion, significantly affects the electrical and thermal characteristics of the formed contacts. The novelty of the paper is that the optimal parameters of a rectangular current pulse were selected, which made it possible to reduce the value of the transition resistance by 1.6 times. [1]. The effect of extremely low frequency electric and magnetic fields (ELF-EMF) on plants and animals including humans is quite a contentious issue. Little is known about ELF-EMF effect on hydrobionts, too. We studied the effect of square voltage waves of various amplitude, duration, and duty cycle, passed through seawater, on Trichoplax organisms as a possible test laboratory model. Three Placozoa strains, such as Trichoplax adhaerens (H1), Trichoplax sp. (H2), and Hoilungia hongkongensis (H13), were used in experiments. They were picked at the stationary growth phase. Arduino Uno electronics platform was used to generate a sequence of rectangular pulses of given duration and duty cycle with a frequency up to 2 kHz. Average voltage up to 500 mV was regulated by voltage divider circuit. Amlodipine, an inhibitor of calcium channel activity, was used to check the specificity of electrical pulse effect on voltage-gated calcium channels in Trichoplax. Experimental animals were investigated under a stereo microscope and stimulated by current-carrying electrodes placed close to a Trichoplax body. Variations in behavior and morphological characteristics of Trichoplax plate were studied. Stimulating and suppressing effects were identified. Experimental observations were recorded using photo and video techniques. Motion trajectories of individual animals were tracked. Increasing voltage pulses with fixed frequency of 20 Hz caused H2 haplotype individuals to leave “electrode zone” within several minutes at a voltage of 25 mV. They lost mobility in proportion to voltage rise and were paralyzed at a voltage of 500 mV. Therefore, a voltage of 50 mV was used in further experiments. An animal had more chance to move in various directions in experiments with two electrodes located on one side instead of both sides of Trichoplax. Direction of motion was used as a characteristic feature. Trichoplax were observed to migrate to areas with low density of electric field lines, which are far from electrodes or behind them. Animals from old culture were less sensitive to electrical stimulus. H2 strain was more reactive than H1 strain and especially than H13 strain; it demonstrated stronger physiological responses at frequencies of 2 Hz and 2 kHz with a voltage of 50 mV. Motion patterns and animal morphology depended on the duration of rectangular stimulation pulses, their number, amplitude, and frequency. Effects observed varied over a wide range: from direct or stochastic migration of animals to the anode or the cathode or away from it to their immobility, an increase of optical density around and in the middle of Trichoplax plate, and finally to Trichoplax folding and detach from the substrate. Additional experiments on Trichoplax sp. H2 with pulse duration of 35 ms and pulse delay of 1 ms to 10 s showed that the fraction of paralyzed animals increased up to 80 % with minimum delay. Nevertheless, in the presence of amlodipine with a concentration of 25 nM, almost all Trichoplax remained fast-moving for several minutes despite exposure to voltage waves. Experimental animals showed a total discoordination of motion and could not leave an “electrode trap”, when amlodipine with a concentration of 250 nM was used. Further, Trichoplax plate became rigid, which appeared in animal shape invariability during motion. Finally, amlodipine with a concentration of 50 μM caused a rapid folding of animal plate-like body into a pan in the ventral-dorsal direction and subsequent dissociation of Trichoplax plate into individual cells. In general, the electrical exposure applied demonstrated a cumulative but a reversible physiological effect, which, as expected, is associated with activity of voltage-gated calcium channels. Amlodipine at high concentration (50 μM) caused Trichoplax disintegration; at moderate concentration (250 nM), it disrupted the propagation of activation waves that led to discoordination of animal motion; at low concentration (25 nM), it prevented an electric shock.

Astrophysics - Abstract
The Center of the Milky Way emits radiation through all the electromagnetic spectrum due to the presence of several astrophysical phenomena. Various scientifical questions remain unsolved in the picture that emerge from observations, the main one being the presence and activity of a supermassive black hole at the Galactic Center. Also in the X-ray band a strong diffuse emission is detected up to 22 keV, it has been suggested that its origin is linked to past high energy activity of the Galactic Center. The French SIGMA soft gamma ray telescope on board the Russian Granat satellite observed the Galacti Center (GC) for abour 9 X 10^6 seconds from 1990 to the end of 1997. Its unique imaging capabilities coupled with the unprecedented exposure already allowed us to set preliminary constraints on the persistent high energy emission from Sgr A*. Here we present a new analysis of the complete set of observations of this region taking into account the possible presence of diffuse emission in the low energy channels. This allows us both to test current advection models of high energy emission from Sgr A* and to investigate on past high energy activity., Comment: 4 pages LateX, 1 Postscript Figure, To appear in the Proceedings of the 3rd INTEGRAL workshop, Taormina, Italy, 1998

Introduction. Nowadays, it is vitally important to develop a method for quantifying melittin not only in apitoxin samples, but also in the products of its processing. The aim of our study is to investigate physical and chemical characteristics of melittin, the main component of apitoxin, as well as the development of methods for the quantitative determination of melittin in the samples of apitoxin and in the pharmaceutical products derived from apitoxin: “Sophia with apitoxin” cream and “Apizartron” ointment.Materials and methods. The objects of the research were apitoxin and melittin, as well as the samples of “Sophia with apitoxin” cream and “Apizartron” ointment satisfying the requirements of regulatory documentation, produced in lots by domestic and foreign manufacturers. The UV spectra of melittin and apitoxin were registered on SF 103 spectrophotometer in quartz cuvettes with 1 cm thickness. The IR spectra were investigated on the IR-instrument of Fourier – FSM-1201 spectrophotometer, LLC “Infraspek”. The determination of melittin purity was carried out by chromatography. Results and discussion. The basic physical and chemical characteristics were established for melittin as a reference sample and the main component of apitoxin. The melting temperature was: (Tmelt.)=190ºС. In the UV-spectrum there could be watched the absorption maxima corresponding to 2 peaks: λ max = 225±2 nm and 285±2 nm were observed. As an analytical wavelength, it is necessary to choose the peak λ =285 nm, since the peak with λ =225 nm is associated with the absorption of light by the internal (shielded) benzene ring of the tryptophan molecule. The nature of the curve and the position of the maxima of the spectra of melittin and the apitoxin solution coincide, which makes it possible to use melittin as a standard for spectrometric quantitative determination of the active substances in apitoxin and preparations based on apitoxin.Conclusion. The worked out spectrophotometric methods for the quantitative determination of melittin in apitoxin has been validated by the indices of specificity, accuracy, detection limit, quantitative determination limit, linearity.

The 13С/12С isotopic abundances in carbon dioxide of the external environment and carbohydrates synthesized by the plant differ significantly from each other and vary depending on the growing conditions. The differences in the fraction of assimilated 13C are related apparently to the rate of photosynthetic reactions. To carry out the sample preparation for mass-spectrometric isotope analysis of carbon involved in plant life, we developed a new method of sample gasification and experimental setup. А setup provided concentrating carbon dioxide 100 times with catalytic afterburning of organic microimpurities, and the prepared sample was free from residual impurities able to interfere to a level no higher than 10^-5. The gasification method involves the plant glucose oxidation by yeast with the collecting generated carbon dioxide; the concentration of reagents were matched for it. The collected CO2 was ready for isotopic measurements and the level of residual impurities able to interfere was less than 10^-5. The developed sample preparation technique has been used to study the influence of spectral characteristics of the light medium on the exchange of carbon isotopes between atmospheric CO2 and the plant carbon pool.

Obesity during pregnancy increases the risk of obesity in offspring. To correct the offspring development in obese mothers, it is necessary to reveal the molecular mechanisms that mediate the influence of the maternal environment on the offspring ontogenesis. Leptin levels increase with obesity. In C57Bl mice, the Ау mutation is associated with elevated blood levels of leptin in pregnant females and exerts a gender-specific effect on the metabolic phenotype of mature offspring. Aim: to study the influence of Ау mutation on sensitivity to diet-induced obesity in male and female offspring, on fetal and placental weight and on the expression of genes in the placentas of the fetuses of different sexes. Body weight and food intake on a standard and an obesogenic diet, fetal and placental weights on pregnancy days 13 and 18, and gene expression of glucose transporters (GLUT1, GLUT3), neutral amino acid transporters (SNAT1, SNAT2, SNAT4), insulin-like growth factor 2 IGF2 and its receptor IGF2R were measured in male and female offspring of и ɑ/ɑ (control) and Ау/ɑ mothers. Ay mutation influenced the body weight only in male offspring, which consumed a standard diet, and did not influence obesity development in both male and female offspring. The weight of fetuses and placentas in Ау/ɑ as compared to ɑ/ɑ females was reduced on day 13 of pregnancy and was not different on day 18. On day 13 of pregnancy, the mRNA levels of the examined genes did not differ in placentas of male and female fetuses in ɑ/ɑ females. In Ау/ɑ females, the gene expression of GLUT1, GLUT3, SNAT1 and SNAT4 was reduced in female placentas compared to male placentas. The results suggest that the sex-specific transcription response of placentas to elevated leptin levels in pregnant Ау/ɑ females can mediate the gender-specific impact of Ау mutation on the offspring metabolism in postnatal life.

Abstract. The task of the work was to establish the infl uence of the charge state serine determined by the pH value of the medium on kinetic regularities and quantitative characteristics of the process of its anodic oxidation on a platinized platinum electrode. The study was performed by the methods of voltammetry, coulometry, rotating disk electrode and IR-spectroscopy with Fourier transform. As base solutions used 0.1 M NaOH, 0.05 M solution of H2SO4 and acetate buffer with a concentration of salt and acid, 0.5 M and 0.05 M, respectively. The electrode potentials region of the electrochemical conversion of the amino acid was determined. The current of oxidation of anion serine is signifi cantly higher, than cation or zwitterionic form. This can be explained by difference in adsorption activity of anion serine on the surface of platinized platinum. The concentration of the various ionic forms of serine in solution before and after electrooxidation was determined photometrically. It is shown that serine electrooxidation occurs with the participation of 2 electrons in acidic and alkaline environments, whereas zwitterion oxidation is accompanied by 4 electrons transfer. It is established that electrooxidation of serine is carried out from an adsorbed state regardless of solution pH. The possible kinetic scheme of the electrooxidation process is proposed. The rate of electrooxidation of the cation or anion of serine is determined by the stage of transfer of the fi rst electron. The rate of electrooxidation of zwitterion of serine is determined by the stage of transfer of the second electron. Electrooxidation of all ionic forms of serine is kinetically irreversible.

When the quality of antibiotics and antibiotic dosage forms cannot be assessed with the help of chemical methods, one can use two variants of the agar diffusion test described in the State Pharmacopoeia XII, part 1 (General pharmacopoeial monograph 42-006807): the three-doses variant of the agar diffusion test and determination with the help of a standard curve. The method is based on directly proportional relationship between the size of test microorganisms inhibition zones and log concentration (dose) of the antibiotic in the solution placed onto agar bacterial medium. The size of the zone depends on a number of factors: sensitivity of the test microorganism to the antibiotic, homogeneity and density of the bacterial lawn, composition of the growth medium, amount of the growth medium placed on Petri dishes, chemical nature of the antibiotic, the dose of antibiotic used in the experiment. Laboratory employees who use this method to test the quality of antibiotics should have appropriate skills. The activity of the drug under testing is determined by comparing it to the established activity of the reference standard which should have compendial quality. Statistical methods are used to assess obtained results and confirm validity of test conditions. The precision of test results is confirmed by computing the 95% confidence interval, and the repeatability is supported by calculation of the relative standard deviation.

The article summarises the results of a study which assessed the response of the cardiovascular system of cats to intravenous administration of the ansamycin class of antibiotics using commercial samples and investigational samples of rifampicin and rifabutin for injections. It was shown that intravenous administration of ansamycin solutions was accompanied by hypotensive effects of varying severity. The increase in the rate of rifampicin administration at a dose of 2.0 mg/0.5 ml/kg can result in a greater decrease of the cat’s blood pressure as compared to the effect caused by the administration of the same dose at a rate described in the monograph 1.2.4.0008.15 «Test for depressor substances». Based on the results of the study a mechanism underlying the observed effect was suggested.

The article proposes a plan of action for assessing effectiveness and reliability of sterility testing in terms of neutralization of antimicrobial activity of residual amounts of antibiotics remaining on the membrane filters during the analysis. It was demonstrated that the proposed plan of action helps to select appropriate test conditions that rule out the possibility of obtaining false negative results for antibiotics with high biological activity that are capable of sticking to membrane filters. The article demonstrates the need for a stepwise experimental selection of test conditions using different test microorganisms in order to determine a combination of several methods for neutralization of residual amounts of antibiotics which helps to reduce costs, given that satisfactory results may be obtained at any stage depending on the nature of an antibiotic drug. The article explicitly substantiates all stages involved in determination of the completeness of membrane filters cleaning from residual amounts of antibiotics using the example of meropenem. Based on results of experiments test conditions were selected for meropenem products that ensured reliable results of sterility testing.

It substantiates the need to adequately reproduce test methods that introduce a specific analytical procedure in testing laboratories - in order to be able to give a reliable assessment of the quality of substances and dosage forms. The article gives examples of a successful analytical method transfer, describes ways of transferring analytical procedures, cases when the transfer of method is not needed, and validation/verification parameters that are used to check whether the method is suitable for a particular laboratory. It also gives examples of validation parameters that are used in verification of pharmacopoeial methods, which are chosen based on the type of method and the tested parameter.

пиримидин-4(1н)-он, молекулярное конструирование, целенаправленный синтез, циклоконденсация, циклооксигеназа, противовоспалительное действие, антиэкссудативная активность ,Therapeutics. Pharmacology ,RM1-950 - Abstract
In their structure pyrimidin-4-one derivatives are similar to the endogenous nitrogen bases. This makes it possible to predict a wide range of pharmacological activities characteristic for them. The compounds of this series exhibit neurotropic, immunotropic, actoprotective, hypotensive, antihypoxic, anti-infl ammatory and antioxidant activity. Within this framework, the search for and creation of highly effective and safe anti-infl ammatory drugs in the series of N-arylpyrimidin-4(1H)-one is of great current interest. The aim of the work is to carry out predictive studies and targeted synthesis of N-substituted derivatives of pyrimidine-4(1H)-one with anti-infl ammatory activity, as well as toconfi rm the validity of their molecular construction by the results of pharmacological tests.Materials and methods. The research was carried out using the logical-structural approach and information technologies. The computer analysis of biological activity was carried out by the PASS program. Synthesis of the target compounds was carried out using a modifi ed procedure. The structure of the synthesized compounds was confi rmed by 1H NMR, IR and UV spectroscopy. The investigation of the anti-infl ammatory effect of the synthesized compounds was carried out on the model of acute aseptic infl ammation. The synthesized substances were injected intraperitoneally, the magnitude of the edema was the criterion for evaluating the anti-infl ammatory activity. Results and discussion. In the course of the research on the basis of the logico-structural approach, hydroxyphenyl and alkyl derivatives of pyrimidin-4(1H)-one with anti-infl ammatory properties were validated. A preliminary analysis of the pharmacological properties of the predicted structures was carried out using the PASS program and the most promising compounds were selected. To synthesize the tolyl and hydroxyphenyl derivatives of pyrimidin-4(1H)-one, a modifi ed procedure was used. Its essence consists in the use of catalytic amounts of dimethylsulfoxide in order to increase the nucleophilicity of the amine component of the reaction. In order to confi rm the reliability and expediency of the molecular construction, the antiexudative activity of the target compounds was studied.Conclusion. The results of pharmacological studies indicate the prospect of searching for and creating new biologically active compounds having anti-infl ammatory activity among the tolyl and hydroxyphenyl derivatives of pyrimidin-4(1H)-one.

Multidisciplinary studies have allowed us to describe the abiotic landscapes and, thus, reveal the ichnological and benthic foraminifera trends in a deep-water gateway. Mesoscale landscape mapping is presented based on the bathymetric position index, substrate types and near-bottom water temperature. Four sediment cores, retrieved from the entrance, centre and exit of the gap, were subject to computed tomography, ichnological and benthic foraminifera studies. A high diversity of abiotic landscapes in the relatively small area of Discovery Gap is detected and its landscape is characterized by 23 landscape types. The most heterogeneous abiotic factor is a topography that is associated with sediment patchiness and substrate variability. The ichnological and tomographical studies of the sediment cores demonstrate lateral and temporal differences in the macrobenthic tracemaker behaviour. The ichnofossils assemblage of the sediment core can be assigned to the Zoophycos ichnofacies with a higher presence of Zoophycos in the entrance site of the gap and during glacial intervals. Higher benthic foraminifera diversity and species richness during the Holocene are also registered in the southern part of the gap compared to the northern part. The spatial and temporal differences in macro-benthos behavior and benthic foraminifera distribution in the deep-water gateway are proposed to relate to the topographical variations of the Antarctic Bottom Water and its influence on the hydrodynamic regime, nutrient transport, etc.
