With the ever-decreasing size of portable electronics to achieve greater versatility, the power density of electronic devices has increased substantially, to the point where efficient cooling has become a major concern for achieving stable device operation. Herein, we introduce a heat-dissipating film coated with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) entangled with silver nanowires (AgNWs), prepared by supersonic spraying. Low thermal resistance was obtained from the strong adhesion between the deposited nanomaterials and the substrate. The optimal hybrid film for achieving maximal cooling was identified by varying the number of spraying sweeps and the composition of the nanomaterials. The hybrid film, comprising both CNTs and AgNWs, afforded superior cooling owing to its improved thermal conductivity. Surface-texturing of the film also significantly impacted the convective-cooling performance. In addition, the superior heat-spreading capability of the hybrid film was demonstrated by comparing infrared images of the bare substrate, pure CNTs, and hybrid CNT/AgNW films. The wettability of these films was also studied to identify the wetting condition that would provide the maximum heat transfer. The hybrid CNT/AgNW film possessed the most hydrophilic surface, providing the most efficient spray-cooling scenario. The hydrophilic surface captured and held the sprayed droplets firmly throughout the process. Recently, there has been a growing interest in the consumption of plant-based foods such as vegetables and grains for the purpose of disease prevention and treatment. Adlay seeds contain physiologically active substances, including coixol, coixenolide, and lactams. In this study, adlay sprouts were cultivated and harvested at various time points, specifically at 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 days after sowing. The antioxidant activity of the extracts was evaluated using assays such as DPPH radical scavenging, ABTS radical scavenging, reducing power, and total polyphenol contents. The toxicity of the extracts was assessed using cell culture and the WST-1 assay. The aboveground components of the sprouts demonstrated a significant increase in length, ranging from 2.75 cm to 21.87 cm, weight, ranging from 0.05 g to 0.32 g, and biomass, ranging from 161.4 g to 1319.1 g, as the number of days after sowing advanced, reaching its peak coixol content of 39.38 mg/g on the third day after sowing. Notably, the antioxidant enzyme activity was highest between the third and fifth days after sowing. Regarding anti-inflammatory activity, the inhibition of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) expression was most prominent in samples harvested from the ninth to eleventh days after sowing, corresponding to the later stage of growth. While the overall production mass increased with the number of days after sowing, considering factors such as yield increase index per unit area, turnover rate, and antioxidant activity, harvesting at the early growth stage, specifically between the fifth and seventh days after sowing, was found to be economically advantageous. Thus, the quality, antioxidant capacity, and anti-inflammatory activity of adlay sprouts varied depending on the harvest time, highlighting the importance of determining the appropriate harvest time based on the production objectives. This study demonstrates the changes in the growth and quality of adlay sprouts in relation to the harvest time, emphasizing the potential for developing a market for adlay sprouts as a new food product. This study aimed to investigate the possibility that a calcium phosphate ion cluster (CPIC)-incorporating phosphoric acid (PA) solution promotes the remineralization of the hybrid layer and prevents nanoleakage from the dentin–resin interface, thereby minimizing dentin–resin bond failure during long-term bonding periods. The specimens were prepared using human molars and treated with three types of etching solutions (35% PA, and CPIC-incorporated PA solutions at 1:1 and 1:2 ratios). The microtensile bond strength (µTBS) of half of the specimens was measured after 24 h, and measured after thermocycling for the other half. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was performed to chemically analyze the remineralization, and the degree of nanoleakage in each sample was observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The CPIC-incorporated PA-II solution decreased the nanoleakage in the hybrid layer without reducing the µTBS, with or without thermocycling, and promoted remineralization of dentin collagen. Introduction: The purpose was to determine whether the location of the root apices of unilateral palatally impacted canines differs from that of bilateral palatally impacted canines using cone-beam computed tomography.Methods: The subjects were divided into 3 groups: a bilateral palatally impacted canine group (BPG; n = 28), a unilateral palatally impacted canine group (UPG; n = 28), and a control group (CG; n = 28) that included contralateral normally erupted canines in the UPG. After selecting the root apex in the onDemand3D program, 3-dimensional coordinates were extracted. These 3-dimensional coordinates were converted using the MATLAB program to 2-dimensional coordinates via projection on the palatal plane. Procrustes analysis was used to superimpose these 2-dimensional coordinates. The x- and y-coordinates of the root apices were used to measure the distance between the origin and root apex.Results: The distance between the root apex of the canine and the origin was 17.43 ± 1.78 mm in BPG, 17.96 ± 1.87 mm in UPG, and 13.96 ± 0.95 mm in CG. There was no statistically significant difference between UPG and BPG. However, there was a statistically significant difference between the CG and impacted groups (UPG and BPG). The same results were found for the x- and y-coordinates.Conclusions: The location of the root apices of unilateral palatally impacted canines is similar to that of bilateral palatally impacted. A 25-year-old woman presented with left condylar hyperplasia, canting-type facial asymmetry, mandibular prognathism, and arch width discrepancy. Bone scintigraphy confirmed the inactive status of the condyle, and the temporomandibular joint functioned within the normal range; thus, orthognathic surgery without condylectomy was performed. To correct facial asymmetry successfully through orthognathic surgery, sufficient dentoalveolar decompensation must be achieved in the presurgical orthodontic phase. In cases of canting-type facial asymmetry, teeth on the nondeviated side are extruded as dentoalveolar compensation. Therefore, vertical decompensation is required for intrusion of the extruded teeth. A miniscrew and resin build-ups were used for the intrusion of teeth, and posterior segmental osteotomy was simultaneously performed with orthognathic surgery for further intrusion. The canting-type facial asymmetry was notably corrected through successful vertical decompensation and close cooperation between orthodontists and maxillofacial surgeons. Currently, lightweight wearable energy storage devices are in great demand owing to their use in wearable electronics and energy-efficient electric vehicles. Freestanding carbon nanofibers replace the need for metal substrates while providing a rapid electrical network owing to their excellent electrical properties. Bimetallic oxides with multivalent oxidation states facilitate the rapid transfer of electrolytic ions owing to efficient Faradaic reactions, thereby enhancing the overall energy storage capability. In this study, CoOx@CNF was derived from ZIF-67 (zeolitic-imidazolate framework) @PAN-2MI fibers that were stabilized in air at 280°C and then annealed in argon at 900°C. Subsequently, Co was seeded on the annealed CoOx@CNF and subjected to a hydrothermal process in sodium molybdate dihydrate solution to grow CoMoO4 nanosheets, eventually forming bimetallic CoMoO4@CNF. The concentration of sodium molybdate solution was varied to determine the optimal growth conditions for CoMoO4 nanosheets. The energy density of the optimal bimetallic CoMoO4@CNF sample was 166.5 μWh cm-2 at a power density of 200 μW cm-2; this represented a nearly twofold increase compared to that of the single metallic CoOx@CNF. Powering humidity sensors using only one CoMoO4@CNF supercapacitor was demonstrated. The optimal sample remained stable during long-term galvanostatic charge and discharge cycles ( N cyc = 30,000) and retained 100% of its specific capacitance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
