Abstract

Alloy structures with high catalytic surface areas and tunable surface energies can lead to high catalytic selectivity and activities. Herein, the synthesis of sponge‐like Pd3Pb multiframes (Pd3Pb MFs) is reported by using the thermodynamically driven phase segregation, which exhibit high selectivity (93%) for the conversion of furfural to furfuryl alcohol (FOL) under mild conditions. The excellent catalytic performance of the Pd3Pb MF catalysts is attributed to the high surface area and optimized surface energy of the catalyst, which is associated with the introduction of Pb to Pd. Density functional theory calculations show that the binding energy of FOL to the surface energy‐tuned Pd3Pb MF is sufficiently lowered to prevent side reactions such as over‐hydrogenation of FOL. Abstract

BackgroundDown-sloping sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) in people in their teens and 20s hampers efficient learning and communication and in-depth social interactions. Nonetheless, its aetiology remains largely unclear, with the exception of some potential causative genes, none of which stands out especially in people in their teens and 20s. Here, we examined the role and genotype–phenotype correlation of lipoxygenase homology domain 1 (LOXHD1) in down-sloping SNHL through a cohort study.MethodsBased on the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) genetic deafness cohort, in which the patients show varying degrees of deafness and different onset ages (n=1055), we have established the ‘SNUBH Teenager–Young Adult Down-sloping SNHL’ cohort (10–35 years old) (n=47), all of whom underwent exome sequencing. Three-dimensional molecular modelling, minigene splicing assay and short tandem repeat marker genotyping were performed, and medical records were reviewed.ResultsLOXHD1accounted for 33.3% of all genetically diagnosed cases of down-sloping SNHL (n=18) and 12.8% of cases in the whole down-sloping SNHL cohort (n=47) of young adults. We identified a potential common founder allele, as well as an interesting genotype–phenotype correlation. We also showed that transcript 6 is necessary and probably sufficient for normal hearing.ConclusionsLOXHD1exceeds other genes in its contribution to down-sloping SNHL in young adults, rising as a signature causative gene, and shows a potential but interesting genotype–phenotype correlation.

이 논문은 노무현 대통령 당시 한미관계가 악화되면서 불신과 갈등이 도래하게 된 원인을 핵심이념의 분기, 전략적 동기의 협상, 상호 의사소통차질, 정치제도의 차이 등을 중심으로 설명하고자 한다. 무엇보다도 핵심이념 분기론은 노무현 대통령 당시 한미 간의 갈등이 양국 의 정책 엘리트의 상이한 정책 선호와 믿음의 차이에서 비롯되었음을 강조하고 있다. 이어서 전략적 동기의 협상론은 정치지도자들이 외부적인 압력이나 위협을 정치적으로 이용할 인센 티브를 상시로 지니고 있다는 점에서 설명의 유용성이 있다. 세 번째로 상호 의사소통차질론 은 상대방에 대해서 충분히 사전적으로 자신의 조치에 관해서 설명을 하지 않거나, 자신의 정 책이 태동한 맥락을 설명하지 않음으로써 양국 간에 갈등이 도래하게 됨을 강조하고 있다. 마 지막으로 정치제도 차이론은 단지 제한적인 유용성이 있기는 하지만, 정치적 행위의 반경을 구성하는 정치제도에 주목한다는 측면에서 역시 검토할 필요가 있다. 이러한 네 가지 설명 가 운데 핵심이념 분기론과 정치제도 차이론은 단기적으로 피할 수 없는 요소를 설명하는 것이 지만, 전략적 동기의 협상론이나 상호 의사소통차질론은 단기적으로 상호 협상의 과정에서 만 들어지는 것이라는 특성을 지니고 있다.

Abstract

Background: Obsession and delusion are theoretically distinct from each other in terms of reality testing. Despite such phenomenological distinction, no extant studies have examined the identification of common and distinct neural correlates of obsession and delusion by employing biologically grounded methods. Here, we investigated dimensional effects of obsession and delusion spanning across the traditional diagnostic boundaries reflected upon the resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) using connectome-wide association studies (CWAS). Methods: Our study sample comprised of 96 patients with obsessive–compulsive disorder, 75 patients with schizophrenia, and 65 healthy controls. A connectome-wide analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between obsession and delusion severity and RFSC using multivariate distance-based matrix regression. Results: Obsession was associated with the supplementary motor area, precentral gyrus, and superior parietal lobule, while delusion was associated with the precuneus. Follow-up seed-based RSFC and modularity analyses revealed that obsession was related to aberrant inter-network connectivity strength. Additional inter-network analyses demonstrated the association between obsession severity and inter-network connectivity between the frontoparietal control network and the dorsal attention network. Conclusions: Our CWAS study based on the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) provides novel evidence for the circuit-level functional dysconnectivity associated with obsession and delusion severity across diagnostic boundaries. Further refinement and accumulation of biomarkers from studies embedded within the RDoC framework would provide useful information in treating individuals who have some obsession or delusion symptoms but cannot be identified by the category of clinical symptoms alone. 230. Pharmacotherapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder: Real-world evidence from a 10-year retrospective data analysis.

Abstract

We investigated pharmacotherapy trends for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) patients at a Korean tertiary hospital from 2008 to 2017. Out of 1894 patients, 82.9% received at least one psychotropic medication, with prescription rates increasing over time. The most frequently prescribed drug classes were selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs, 80.5%), anxiolytics (57.5%), antipsychotics (47.2%), other antidepressants (21.1%), and mood stabilizers (18.4%). Combination therapy was administered to 79.7% of medicated patients, with SSRIs, anxiolytics, and antipsychotics being the most common combination. Comorbidities significantly increased the prescription rates of all psychotropic classes (P < 0.001). Our study offers insights that may aid in bridging the gap between OCD treatment guidelines and real-world clinical practice. • Real-world study showed increasing trends in psychotropic prescriptions for OCD patients over time. • SSRIs were the most frequently prescribed drug class, followed by anxiolytics and antipsychotics. • Use of psychotropic drug combinations was common in OCD treatment, with almost 80% of medicated patients. • Psychotropic drug use was higher in OCD patients with comorbidities than those without. • This offers valuable information to enhance understanding of OCD treatment guidelines in real-world practice.
