Fibromiyalji, yaygın vücut ağrısı ile ağrının lokalize olduğu duyarlı noktaların varlığı ile tanımlanan, kişinin günlük yaşam aktivitelerini kısıtlayan ve yaşam kalitesini düşüren bir kas iskelet sistemi ağrı sendromudur. Fibromiyaljinin etiyolojisi belirsizdir, ancak hastalığın ortaya çıkması ve ilerleyişi hakkında çok sayıda hipotez vardır. Bunlar arasından biyopsikososyal model, fibromiyaljinin gelişiminde biyolojik, psikolojik ve sosyal mekanizmaların bir arada rol oynadığı bütüncül bir çerçeve sunmaktadır. Hastalığın etiyolojisi henüz anlaşılamadığından, tedavisine yönelik etkili yöntemler bulunamamıştır, bu nedenle müdahale yöntemleri fibromiyaljinin olumsuz etkilerini azaltmayı, psikolojik ve fizyolojik fonksiyonelliği artırmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu makalede fibromiyalji hastalarında psikolojik müdahale alanları ve yöntemlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Literatür incelendiğinde, ağrı ile ilişkili inançlar ve kaçınma davranışları, öz-yeterlilik, fiziksel aktivite, uyku kalitesi, öz-şefkat, duygusal beceriler, baş etme stratejileri, kişilik, eşlik eden psikopatolojiler gibi faktörlerin hastalığın gelişimini, ağrı şiddetini ve hastaların tedaviye uyumunu etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, Bilişsel-Davranışçı Terapi (BDT), fiziksel aktivite ve uyku hijyeni takibi, Kabul ve Kararlılık Terapisi (KKT), şefkat odaklı terapiler, farkındalık temelli terapiler, duygu ifadesi ve düzenlenmesine yönelik teknikler, biyogeribildirim gibi yöntemlerin tedavi planlarında yer alabilecek etkili yöntemler olduğu, ancak hastalığı değerlendirme sürecinde psikososyal etmenler göz önünde bulundurularak bireyselleştirilmiş tedavi planları oluşturulmasının elzem olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Buna ek olarak, biyopsikososyal model çerçevesinde fibromiyaljinin tedavi süreçlerinde çok disiplinli çalışmanın önemi tartışılmıştır.

Głównym celem artykułu jest wstępna ocena kształcenia kompetencji przedsiębiorczych wśród dzieci realizowanego w ramach edukacji formalnej i pozaformalnej. Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczny i obejmuje analizę podstawowych dokumentów, które wpływają na funkcjonowanie edukacji formalnej oraz przegląd ofert związanych z rozwojem przedsiębiorczości dla najmłodszych na rynku edukacji nieformalnej. Na podstawie Zalecenia Rady UE zaprezentowano definicję przedsiębiorczości postrzeganej jako zestaw kompetencji, która stanowiła punkt wyjścia do oceny praktyk edukacyjnych. Podjęte rozważania wskazują na obecność różnych form kształcenia kompetencji przedsiębiorczych na polskim rynku edukacyjnym dla dzieci, których jakość zależy od wiedzy i postaw samych nauczycieli i szkoleniowców, a także od właściwego postrzegania przedsiębiorczości w szerokim wymiarze niebiznesowym.

Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından 2020 yılında ilan edilen Kovid-19 salgını nedeniyle eğitim kurumlarında uzaktan eğitime zorunlu olarak geçiş yaşanmıştır. Bilgisayar ve ekran başında geçirilen süre literatürde Zoom yorgunluğu veya Zoom tükenmişliği olarak tanımlanan ve hızla artan bir soruna yol açmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Fauville, Luo, Queiroz, Bailenson ve Hancock (2021) tarafından geliştirilen “Zoom Tükenmişlik ve Yorgunluk (ZTY) Ölçeği”nin Türkçeye uyarlanmış halinin öğrencilerin Zoom tükenmişlik ve yorgunluğunu ölçmek için geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olup olmadığıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu Türkiye’deki devlet üniversitelerinde Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi (BBY) bölümünde öğrenim gören 310 üniversite öğrencisidir. ZTY ölçeğinin yapı geçerliği açıklayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) ile ve ölçeğin faktör yapısı LISREL paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapı güvenirliği ve yakınsama geçerliği doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analizler sonucu ölçekteki beş faktörün t değerleri, hata varyansları, standart katsayıları ve uyum indeksleri kontrol edilmiş ve ZTY ölçeğinin öğrencilerin Zoom tükenmişlik ve yorgunluğunu ölçmek için geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca BBY bölümü öğrencilerinin orta seviyenin üzerinde Zoom tükenmişliği ve yorgunluğuna sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir.

Microbiota composition may play a role in the development, prognosis, or post-infection of COVID-19. There are studies evaluating the microbiota composition at the time of diagnosis and during the course of COVID-19, especially in adults, while studies in children are limited and no study available in children with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). This study was planned to compare intestinal microbiota composition in children diagnosed with MIS-C and acute COVID-19 infection with healthy children. In this prospective multicenter study, 25 children diagnosed with MIS-C, 20 with COVID-19 infection, and 19 healthy children were included. Intestinal microbiota composition was evaluated by 16 s rRNA gene sequencing. We observed changes of diversity, richness, and composition of intestinal microbiota in MIS-C cases compared to COVID-19 cases and in the healthy controls. Besides the advantages of polyester materials, such as ease of production, usage, and maintenance, the hydrophobic properties could cause disadvantages. Applying hydrophilic finishing to the polyester product, its liquid transmission properties could be improved, and better comfort provided to the user. This study aimed to investigate the liquid absorptivity properties (vertical wicking, water vapor permeability, and drop test) of the fabric given hydrophilic properties by applying a partial hydrophilic process on a 100% polyester textile surface. It aimed to transfer the hydrophilic finishing agent to the polyester product using a printing method other than the padding method. In the printing application, 100% open, striped (50% open – 50% closed), continued honeycomb (65% open – 35% closed), and non-continued honeycomb (35% open – 65% closed) pattern screens were used. The liquid transmission properties of fabrics were evaluated by changing the ratio of the hydrophilic treatment applied to the fabric surface via with the printing method. In terms of the applicability of the printing method as an alternative to the impregnation method in order to achieve decreased chemical consumption, it was aimed to investigate whether the method of giving hydrophilic features by the printing method could create an alternative to the padding method. The results showed that the liquid transmission properties of fabrics could be controlled and improved by the printing method depending on the proportions of the hydrophilic and hydrophobic surface areas. In addition, it was observed that the liquid transmission properties of the fabrics vary depending on whether these areas are continued or non-continued.

Technological innovations will leads to meet the present and future challenges of agriculture sector. Water is one of important natural resource, since time immemorial, also acted as catalyst during Green Revolution and helped India achieve self-sufficient status in food grain production. Fresh water is only 2.6% of the total water resources of the world has to be utilized efficiently. Inspite of coverage under irrigation in India and phenomenal growth in production from irrigated area, water use efficiency remains very low as irrigation water is lost during conveyance and application. Prevalent irrigation methods used in agriculture are primarily based on gravity based flow. Surface Irrigation methods viz., Land configuration, Laser levelling and Cablegation can increase production and can save 33% of water. Likewise sprinkler and drip Irrigation practices can also increase both productivity and water saving by 70-90%. The modern methods of irrigation (sprinkler, drip and micro-sprinkler) are becoming increasingly popular with application efficiencies as high as 90 to 95% when compared to 50 to 60% in conventional irrigation methods. Whereas irrigation practices like Pre-irrigation, hydrogel led to significant increase the yield levels by 36% and water saving by 27%. At present, the area under micro-irrigation is only very less when compared to large rain fed area in India. So in order to increase the higher agricultural productivity, we have to shift towards the latest innovative methods as compared to traditional methods of irrigation.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical and laboratory findings and to determine the treatment options of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) with 32 beds in Ankara City Hospital between March 16, 2020 and December 16, 2021. Patient characteristics included age, gender, contact history, and co-morbidities. Laboratory investigations included complete blood count, biochemical evaluations, chest X-ray, and computed tomographic imaging of the thorax. Respiratory support therapy and extracorporeal therapy, and other medical treatments were recorded. Results: A total of 82 patients were admitted to the PICU after being diagnosed with COVID-19. Of all patients 64.6% (n=53) were male. The median age of the patients was 126.5 (37-185) months. Nearly half of the patients had a SpO2 below 92%. About half of the patients had lymphopenia, anemia, and elevated CRP and D-Dimer levels. Of the patients, 60% (n=47) were supported with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) or high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygen therapy, whereas 35% (n=28) were followed on invasive mechanical ventilation. The length of stay in the PICU was 11 days, whereas the total length of stay in the hospital was 19 days. Twelve patients (15.2%) died. Conclusion: In line with previous studies, our study planned to contribute to the literature in order to fill the diagnostic gap through clinical findings, laboratory values and chest radiographic examinations in COVID-19.

Background Ralstonia pickettii is an opportunistic waterborne microbe which can survive in many kinds of solutions. Contamination of these solutions may result as outbreaks, which can be mortal for immuncompromised patients. Herein we report an outbreak of R. pickettii related to contaminated saline infusion in our center. Methods This study was conducted in Ankara Pediatric City Hospital. An outbreak occured in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Unit between August 28, 2019 and September 13, 2019. When the outbreak occured, infection control team began an investigation. Environmental samples were collected in order to find the source of the outbreak. Results A total of 11 patients with catheter related blood stream infection caused by R. pickettii who were diagnosed with leukemia were affected. None of the patients infected with R. pickettii died during the outbreak. A total of seventy environmental samples were cultured with the purpose of finding the source of outbreak. R. pickettii grew in normal saline solution culture and all isolates had the same clone of R. pickettii. The outbreak lasted two weeks and was controlled by stopping the usage and sending back the saline solutions belonging to the same manufacturing batch. Conclusions We reported an outbreak of R. pickettii BSIs in highly immunocompromised patients due to contaminated intravascular solution, which was rapidly controlled by infection control measures. Vigilant surveillance by hospital infection control teams and prompt investigation to identify the source of nosocomial infections are crucial to stop an outbreak.

Bu araştırmada Türkçe dersi sınavlarında yer alan soruların üst düzey düşünme becerileri açısından sahip olduğu görünümün betimlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle yürütülmüş, veri kaynağının belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın veri kaynağını 8. sınıf düzeyindeki sınav kâğıtları oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya LGS başarıları temelinde belirlenen birinci düzey okullar dâhil edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular, sınavlarda güncellenmiş Bloom taksonomisinin bilişsel alan basamaklarına göre üst düzey düşünme becerilerine yönelik sadece yaratma basamağında soru hazırlandığını, çözümleme ve değerlendirme basamaklarına yönelik sorulara ise yer verilmediğini ortaya çıkarmıştır. PISA okuma becerileri yeterlik düzeylerine göre ise üst düzey okuma becerileri olarak kabul edilen 5 ve 6. düzeyde hiçbir soruya yer verilmediği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca incelenen sınavlarda en çok parçada anlam ve dil bilgisi sorularına en az ise sözel mantık, tablo/grafik inceleme ve görsel yorumlama sorularına yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu durum yazılı sınavlar ile uluslararası ortak sınavlar arasında uyumsuzluk olduğunu göstermektedir. Elde edilen bu sonuçlar alanyazın kapsamında tartışılmış ve öneri niteliğinde çözümleme, değerlendirme ve yaratma basamaklarına yönelik üst düzey soru örnekleri yazılmıştır.

The purpose of the current pilot study was to determine the impact of an ambient activity technology, ABBY ® , on responsive behavior and family visiting in a long-term care (LTC) home. We were also interested in family and staff perceptions of the technology. A mixed methods research study was conducted over a 6-month period and data were collected using standardized measures and focus groups. Although no significant differences were noted in responsive resident behaviors, focus group data showed the ABBY enriched the care environment and provided additional opportunities for families and staff to engage residents. Although the introduction of a new technology can create challenges for staff, with time, these challenges can be overcome. [ Journal of Gerontological Nursing, 48 (1), 35–41.]

Pragmatics is an area that may be underrepresented in ESL/EFL teaching. This study aims to investigate to what extent pragmatics is taught in an international EFL setting. For this purpose, 28 class sessions taught by 17 teachers from seven different cultural backgrounds were observed for their inclusion of pragmatic features in their classes. The results indicate, despite teaching in an international school setting, these teachers did not make pragmatics an important component of their teaching. Pragmatics accounted for only 8.5 percent of the total observation time and when dealt with, it was handled incidentally when there was a moment to emphasize a pragmatic feature or when the textbook included a section or task relevant to pragmatics. Teachers’ incidental treatment of pragmatics signals its importance in language teaching. Thus, suggestions are made to include pragmatics in materials in EFL programs and in teacher education programs.
