A committee formed by the National Institutes of Health decided to end the ban on human embryo research and agreed that scientists can create human embryos for research purposes but should destroy them after two weeks. The panel of members has also forbidden financing of unethical research practices such as human cloning. There are many critics to the new recommendations who claim that embryos have the same rights as children as life begins at this stage.
