HP-Innowax capillary column was selected and the content of menthol, triacetin and nicotine in mint cigarette filter was determined by gas chromatography with anhydrous ethanol as extraction solvent. The results showed that: The linear relationship was good among menthol, triacetic acid and nicotine in the concentration range of 0. 30 ~4. 80 g ⋅ L-1, 0. 30 ~4. 80 g ⋅ L-1 and 0. 01 ~0. 16 g ⋅ L-1, respectively, the limit of quantification was 14.4 µg ⋅ branch-1,29. 8 µg ⋅ branch-1 and 9.6 µg ⋅ branch-1, the spiked recoveries of the three targets ranged from 97. 1% to 103. 1%, and the determination result of 7 mint cigarette filter samples by this method showed that the relative standard deviations ( RSD) were less than 3.0%. The content of menthol in the menthol cigarette filter was significantly higher than that of the traditional menthol cigarette filter, while the change of nicotine and triacetin content had no obvious change. X-ray fluorescence spectrometry was used to detect the content of eight elements in metal coating smeared on waste plastics, and effects of sample cups, elements In plastic substrate, and Interaction of elements In metal coating on detection results were analyzed. The results show that the RSD of the method used to detect element content In the metal coating smeared on the waste plastics ranged from 0.008% to 0.044% ; the determination range of the eight elements was 0.002% -52.0%, and their detection limit ranged from 0.000 2% to 0.000 8%. The determination results of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry were consistent with that of ICP-AES. The lepidopteran crop pest Plutella xylostella causes severe constraints on Brassica cultivation. Here, we report a novel role for RPX1 (resistance to P. xylostella) in resistance to this pest in Arabidopsis thaliana. The rpx1‐1 mutant repels P. xylostella larvae, and feeding on the rpx1‐1 mutant severely damages the peritrophic matrix structure in the midgut of the larvae, thereby negatively affecting larval growth and pupation. This resistance results from the accumulation of defence compounds, including the homoterpene (3E)−4,8‐dimethyl‐1,3,7‐nonatriene (DMNT), due to the upregulation of PENTACYCLIC TRITERPENE SYNTHASE 1 (PEN1), which encodes a key DMNT biosynthetic enzyme. P. xylostella infestation and wounding induce RPX1 protein degradation, which may confer a rapid response to insect infestation. RPX1 inactivation and PEN1 overexpression are not associated with negative trade‐offs for plant growth but have much higher seed production than the wild‐type in the presence of P. xylostella infestation. This study offers a new strategy for plant molecular breeding against P. xylostella. Summary statement: Plutella xylostella pests show severely negative influence on plant growth and reproduction, and the identification of resistant genes is essential. This study examines the performance of a numerical method that introduces an artificial sink term to the Reynolds-averaged Navier Stokes equations to simulate the flow through an orifice used as a quadratic Power Takeoff (PTO) for Oscillating Water Columns (OWCs). The method replaces the quadratic PTO by an artificial Forchheimer-flow region (referred to as the artificial Forchheimer-flow method). The performance of this method was evaluated by making comparisons with the existing experimental results for two OWCs and the numerical results obtained by using air-water two-phase flow simulations of the air flow through an orifice (referred to as the orifice-flow method). The surface elevations, velocity fields and pressure fields obtained by the orifice-flow and artificial Forchheimer-flow methods are compared. To use the artificial Forchheimer-flow method, an equation for specifying the Forchheimer coefficient is provided and the sensitivity of the pneumatic efficiency to the Forchheimer coefficient is discussed. It can be concluded that the artificial Forchheimer-flow method can satisfactorily reproduce the measured pneumatic efficiency, pressure field in the air, the velocity field in the water and the cross-sectional average velocity of the air. Crystal-chemical properties of synthetic Almandine-Pyrope (Alm-Pyr) solid solutions were investigated by X-ray single-crystal diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. Garnet solid solution with different compositions were synthesized from powder at 4.0 GPa and annealed at 1200 °C for 48 h by a multi-anvil pressure apparatus. Garnet crystals with different sizes (about 60–1000 μm) were obtained from synthesis. The results of X-ray single-crystal diffraction show that the unit cell constants decrease with increasing Pyr contents in the synthetic Alm-Pyr crystals due to the smaller ionic radius of Mg2+ in eightfold coordination than that of Fe2+. The data exhibit obviously positive deviations from ideal mixing volumes across the Alm-Pyr join which may be caused by the distortion of the SiO4 tetrahedron. Moreover, the significant decrease in the average M-O bond length and volume of the [MgO8]/[FeO8] dodecahedron with increasing Pyr contents are the most important factors to the decrease in the Alm-Pyr crystal unit cell constant and volume. On the other hand, selected bond distances (average , , and distances) have a linear correlation with the unit-cell parameter, but the distance has nonlinear correlation. With increasing the unit-cell parameter, the average distance increases significantly, followed by the average and distances. While the distance changes negligibly further confirming the conclusion that the significant decrease of the average M-O bond length of the [MgO8]/[FeO8] dodecahedron with increasing Pyr contents are the most important factors to the decrease in the Alm-Pyr crystal unit cell volume. In the Raman spectra collected for the Alm-Pyr solid solutions, Raman vibration mode assignments indicate that the Raman vibrational spectra change along the Alm-Pyr binary solution. The mode frequencies of Si-O stretching, Si-O bending, and the rotation of the SiO4-tetrahedron (R(SiO4)) decrease linearly, while the translational modes of the SiO4-tetrahedron (T(SiO4)) increase with increasing Alm contents. To analyze the damage characteristics of rocks during high-voltage pulse fragmentation (HVPF), two kinds of loads, shockwave and cavity, are determined by optical observation, and the pressure–time characteristics of these two and their mechanism of damage to rocks in mesoscopic view are analyzed. A model of dynamic damage characteristics of brittle rock under multiple loads is established, which includes numerical calculation and discrete element simulation. In the discrete element simulation, the rock is simplified as a circular region without reflection boundary with a certain size of the circular hole inside, and the grains in the region are discretized as rigid spheres with a definite bonding relationship. The shockwave is considered the time-varying pressure loaded to the grains of the circular hole, and the cavity is considered the quasi-static pressure loaded to the grains on both sides of the fracture. The results of the model show that shear cracks and tensile cracks are produced during the shockwave action, but tensile cracks are predominant. The shockwave acts as a preload for the expansion of cracks, and the damage radius is small. Most of the cracks in HVPF are caused by the cavity. A comparison of the numerical calculation results with the discrete element simulation results shows that the model can describe the distribution characteristics of cracks under multiple loads, which lays a foundation for further analysis of the internal mechanism of HVPF. Motivation With the rapid advances of RNA sequencing and microarray technologies in non-coding RNA (ncRNA) research, functional tools that perform enrichment analysis for ncRNAs are needed. On the one hand, because of the rapidly growing interest in circRNAs, snoRNAs, and piRNAs, it is essential to develop tools for enrichment analysis for these newly emerged ncRNAs. On the other hand, due to the key role of ncRNAs' interacting target in the determination of their function, the interactions between ncRNA and its corresponding target should be fully considered in functional enrichment. Based on the ncRNA–mRNA/protein-function strategy, some tools have been developed to functionally analyze a single type of ncRNA (the majority focuses on miRNA); in addition, some tools adopt predicted target data and lead to only low-confidence results. Results Herein, an online tool named RNAenrich was developed to enable the comprehensive and accurate enrichment analysis of ncRNAs. It is unique in (i) realizing the enrichment analysis for various RNA types in humans and mice, such as miRNA, lncRNA, circRNA, snoRNA, piRNA, and mRNA; (ii) extending the analysis by introducing millions of experimentally validated data of RNA–target interactions as a built-in database; and (iii) providing a comprehensive interacting network among various ncRNAs and targets to facilitate the mechanistic study of ncRNA function. Importantly, RNAenrich led to a more comprehensive and accurate enrichment analysis in a COVID-19-related miRNA case, which was largely attributed to its coverage of comprehensive ncRNA–target interactions. The high-temperature unit-cell parameters and volumes of three Li-bearing tourmalines (elbaite (CC05), elbaite (CC11) and schorl (D54)) have been determined through in situ synchrotron radiation angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction experiments. No phase transition of these tourmalines has been observed up to the maximum temperature in this study. The volumetric thermal expansion coefficients of the three Li-bearing tourmalines are determined from the measured unit-cell volumes at high temperatures with Berman's equations. And the elbaite (CC05) has the least volumetric thermal expansion coefficients among the three Li-bearing tourmalines in this study. Furthermore, the axial thermal expansion behavior of these Li-bearing tourmalines is also fitted with "linearized" Berman's equation. The results show that Li-bearing tourmalines has an intense anisotropic axial thermal expansivity, where the c -axis has a larger axial thermal expansion coefficient than a -axis. The corn leaf aphid (Rhopalosiphum maidis) is a major maize pest that frequently causes substantial yield losses. Exploring the genetic basis of resistance to aphids is important for improving maize yield and quality. Here, we used a maize recombinant inbred line population derived from two parents with different susceptibility to aphids, B73 (susceptible) and Abe2 (resistant), and performed quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping using aphid resistance scores as an indicator. We mapped a stable QTL, qRTA6 , to chromosome 6 using data from 2 years of field trials, which explained 40.12–55.17% of the phenotypic variation. To further investigate the mechanism of aphid resistance in Abe2, we constructed transcriptome and metabolome libraries from Abe2 and B73 leaves with or without aphid infestation at different time points. Integrating QTL mapping and transcriptome data revealed three aphid resistance candidate genes (Zm00001d035736, Zm00001d035751, and Zm00001d035767) associated with the hypersensitive response, the jasmonic acid pathway, and protein ubiquitination. Integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis revealed that the differentially expressed genes and metabolites were enriched in flavonoid biosynthesis. These findings extend our understanding of the molecular mechanisms controlling aphid resistance in maize, and the QTL and candidate genes are valuable resources for increasing this resistance. Radio astronomy uses radio telescopes to detect very faint emissions from celestial objects. However, human-made radio frequency interference (RFI) is currently a common problem faced by most terrestrial radio telescopes, and it is getting worse with the development of the economy and technology. Therefore, it is essential to monitor and evaluate interference during the planning, construction, and operation stages of the radio telescope and protect the quiet radio environment around the radio astronomical site. In this paper, we present a software for an RFI analysis of the radio environment around the telescope. In this software, information has been collected, including the location of the site; the technical specifications, such as aperture and the frequency range of the radio telescopes; and the terrain around the site. The software and its modules are composed of telescope, geographic, and meteorological databases, and analysis modules of terrestrial and space-based RFI. Combined with the propagation characteristics of radio waves, we can analyze and evaluate RFI on the ground and in space around the radio telescope. The feasibility of the software has been proved by the experimental implementation of the propagation properties and RFI source estimation. With this software, efficient technical support can be expected for protecting the radio environment around the telescope, as well as improving site selection for planned radio astronomical facilities. Introduction: The optimal choice of anastomotic techniques for cervical esophagogastric anastomosis in esophagectomy remains unclear. Methods: An electronic literature search of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science (data up to April 2022) was conducted and screened to compare hand sewn (HS), circular stapling (CS), side-to-side linear stapling (LS), and triangulating stapling (TS) for cervical esophagogastric anastomosis. Anastomotic leak, pulmonary complications, anastomotic stricture, and reflux esophagitis of the 4 anastomotic techniques were evaluated using a Bayesian network meta-analysis by R. Result: Twenty-nine studies were ultimately included, with a total of 5,020 patients from 9 randomized controlled trials, 7 prospect cohort studies, and 13 retrospective case–control studies in the meta-analysis. The present study demonstrates that the incidence of anastomotic leakage is lower in TS than HS and CS (TS vs. HS: odds ratio (OR) = 0.32, 95% CI: 0.1 to 0.9; TS vs. CS: OR = 0.37, 95% CI: 0.13 to 1.0), and the incidence of anastomotic stricture is lower in TS than in HS and CS (TS vs. HS: OR = 0.32, 95% CI: 0.11 to 0.86; TS vs. CS: OR = 0.23, 95% CI: 0.08 to 0.58). TS ranks best in terms of anastomotic leakage, pulmonary complication, anastomotic stricture, and reflux esophagitis. Conclusion: TS for cervical esophagogastric anastomosis of esophagectomy had a lower incidence of anastomotic leakage and stricture. TS should be preferentially recommended. Photobiomodulation (PBM) is the use of low irradiance light of specific wavelengths to generate physiological changes and therapeutic effects. However, there are few studies on the effects of PBM of different LED light modes on cells. Here, we investigated the difference of influence between continuous wave (CW) and pulse-PBM on B16F10 melanoma cells. Our results suggested that the pulse mode had a more significant PBM than the CW mode on B16F10 melanoma cells. Our study confirmed that ROS and Ca2+ levels in B16F10 melanoma cells treated with pulse-PBM were significantly higher than those in the control and CW-PBM groups. One mechanism that causes the difference in CW and pulse-PBM action is that pulse-PBM activates autophagy of melanoma cells through the ROS/OPN3/Ca2+ signaling pathway, and excessive autophagy activation inhibits proliferation and apoptosis of melanoma cells. Autophagy may be one of the reasons for the difference between pulse- and CW-PBM on melanoma cells. More importantly, melanoma cells responded to brief PBM pulses by increasing intracellular Ca2+ levels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Radio frequency interference (RFI) is a significant challenge faced by today's radio astronomers. While most past efforts were devoted to cleaning the RFI from the data, we develop a novel method for categorizing and cataloguing RFI for forensic purpose. We present a classifier that categorizes RFI into different types based on features extracted using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Fourier analysis. The classifier can identify narrowband non-periodic RFI above 2σ, narrowband periodic RFI above 3σ, and wideband impulsive RFI above 5σ with F1 scores [defined as F 1 = (2 · recall  × precision)/(recall + precision)] between 0.87 and 0.91 in simulation. This classifier could be used to identify the sources of RFI as well as to clean RFI contamination (particularly in pulsar search). In the long-term analysis of the categorized RFI, we found a special type of drifting periodic RFI that is detrimental to pulsar search. We also found pieces of evidence of an increased rate of impulsive RFI when the telescope is pointing towards the cities. These results demonstrate this classifier's potential as a forensic tool for RFI environment monitoring of radio telescopes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Flowering time is an important agronomic trait of crops and significantly affects plant adaptation and seed production. Flowering time varies greatly among maize (Zea mays) inbred lines, but the genetic basis of this variation is not well understood. Here, we report the comprehensive genetic architecture of six flowering time-related traits using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population obtained from a cross between two maize genotypes, B73 and Abe2, and combined with genome-wide association studies to identify candidate genes that affect flowering time. Results: Our results indicate that these six traits showed extensive phenotypic variation and high heritability in the RIL population. The flowering time of this RIL population showed little correlation with the leaf number under different environmental conditions. A genetic linkage map was constructed by 10,114 polymorphic markers covering the whole maize genome, which was applied to QTL mapping for these traits, and identified a total of 82 QTLs that contain 13 flowering genes. Furthermore, a combined genome-wide association study and linkage mapping analysis revealed 17 new candidate genes associated with flowering time. Conclusions: In the present study, by using genetic mapping and GWAS approaches with the RIL population, we revealed a list of genomic regions and candidate genes that were significantly associated with flowering time. Key message: A novel genomic region controlling thermotolerance at flowering was identified by the combination of whole genomic re-sequencing and bulked segregant analysis in maize. The increasing frequency of extreme high temperature has brought a great threat to the development of maize throughout its life cycle, especially during the flowering phase. However, the genetic basis of thermotolerance at flowering in maize remains poorly understood. Here, we characterized a thermotolerant maize ecotype Abe2 and dissected its genetic basis using a F2:8 recombinant inbred line (RIL) population generated from a cross between Abe2 and B73. After continuous high temperature stress above 35 °C for 17 days, Abe2 and B73 show distinct leaf scorching phenotype under field conditions. To identify the genomic regions associated with the phenotypic variation, we applied a combination of whole genomic re-sequencing and bulked segregant analysis, and revealed 10,316,744 SNPs and 1,488,302 InDels between the two parental lines, and 2,693,054 SNPs and 313,757 InDels between the two DNA pools generated from the thermos-tolerant and the sensitive individuals of the RIL, of which, 108,655 and 17,853 SNPs may cause nonsynonymous variations. Finally, a 7.41 Mb genomic region on chromosome 1 was identified, and 7 candidate genes were annotated to participate in high temperature-related stress response. A candidate gene Zm00001d033339 encoding a serine/threonine protein kinase was proposed to be the most likely causative gene contributing to the thermotolerance at flowering by involving in stomatal movement (GO: 0010119) via Abscisic acid (ABA) pathway (KO04075). Eu-TFPA-MOF was designed, characterized and used in the fluorescence detection of fipronil in tea. The red fluorescence of Eu-TFPA-MOF suspension was quenched by fipronil and the "turn off" approach exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity. In addition, a smartphone-assisted test strip was designed and applied in the on-site and visual detection of fipronil in tea samples. A europium-based metal organic framework (Eu-TFPA-MOF) was used for the fluorescence detection of fipronil in green tea and oolong tea for the first time. The red fluorescence of Eu-TFPA-MOF could be quenched significantly by low concentration (0.24 mM) of fipronil, and the "turn off" process exhibited quick response time (2 min), high sensitivity and selectivity, low detection limits (4.4 nM) and wide linear range (0–0.15 mM). The mechanism of fluorescence quenching was mainly attributed to static quenching process and the competitive absorption of excitation energy. Besides, the spiked and recovery test indicated that Eu-TFPA-MOF could be used in the fluorescence detection of fipronil in real green tea and oolong tea sample and the process had the advantages of simple pretreatment and satisfactory recoveries (98.33–106.17 %). More importantly, a simple, portable and low-cost smartphone-assisted test strip were designed for the visual detection of fipronil in real tea samples. During their co-evolution with herbivorous insects, plants have developed multiple defense strategies that resist pests, such as releasing a blend of herbivory-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs) that repel pests or recruit their natural enemies. However, the responses of insects to HIPVs in maize (Zea mays L.) are not well understood. Here, we demonstrate that the Asian corn borer (ACB, Ostrinia furnacalis), a major insect pest of maize, shows a preference for maize pre-infested with ACB larvae rather than being repelled by these plants. Through combined transcriptomic and metabolomics analysis of ACB-infested maize seedlings, we identified two substances that explain this behavior: (E)-4,8-dimethylnona-1,3,7-triene (DMNT) and (3E,7E)-4,8,12-trimethyltrideca-1,3,7,11-tetraene (TMTT). DMNT and TMTT attracted ACB larvae, and knocking out the maize genes responsible for their biosynthesis via gene editing impaired this attraction. External supplementation with DMNT/TMTT hampered the larvae's ability to locate pre-infested maize. These findings uncover a novel role for DMNT and TMTT in driving the behavior of ACB. Genetic modification of maize to make it less detectable by ACB might be an effective strategy for developing maize germplasm resistant to ACB and for managing this pest effectively in the field., (© 2024 The Author(s). Corn leaf aphids (Rhopalosiphum maidis) are highly destructive pests of maize (Zea mays) that threaten growth and seed yield, but resources for aphid resistance are scarce. Here, we identified an aphid-resistant maize mutant, resistance to aphids 1 (rta1), which is allelic to LIGULELESS1 (LG1). We confirmed LG1's role in aphid resistance using the independent allele lg1-2, allelism tests and LG1 overexpression lines. LG1 interacts with, and increases the stability of ZINC-FINGER PROTEIN EXPRESSED IN INFLORESCENCE MERISTEM (ZIM1), a central component of the jasmonic acid (JA) signalling pathway, by disturbing its interaction with the F-box protein CORONATINE INSENSITIVE 1a (COI1a). Natural variation in the LG1 promoter was associated with aphid resistance among inbred lines. Moreover, a loss-of-function mutant in the LG1-related gene SPL8 in the dicot Arabidopsis thaliana conferred aphid resistance. Photobiomodulation (PBM) using 460 nm blue light has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on skin cancer cells. In this study, we used a continuous LED light source with a wavelength of 460 nm and designed various combinations of power density (ranging from 6.4 to 25.6 mW) and dose (ranging from 0.96 to 30.72 J/cm 2 ) to conduct treatment experiments on MeWo cells to investigate the effects of blue light on MeWo melanoma cells. We are focusing on cell viability, cytotoxicity, mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, and apoptosis. We found that blue light inhibits these melanoma cells through oxidative stress and DNA damage, and this inhibition intensifies at higher irradiance levels. Although the cells initially attempt to resist the stress induced by the treatment, they eventually undergo apoptosis over time. A deep-seated landslide could release numerous microseismic signals from creep-slip movement, which includes a rock-soil slip from the slope surface and a rock-soil shear rupture in the subsurface. Machine learning can effectively enhance the classification of microseismic signals in landslide seismic monitoring and interpret the mechanical processes of landslide motion. In this paper, eight sets of triaxial seismic sensors were deployed inside the deep-seated landslide, Jiuxianping, China, and a large number of microseismic signals related to the slope movement were obtained through 1-year-long continuous monitoring. All the data were passed through the seismic event identification mode, the ratio of the long-time average and short-time average. We selected 11 days of data, manually classified 4131 data into eight categories, and created a microseismic event database. Classical machine learning algorithms and ensemble learning algorithms were tested in this paper. In order to evaluate the seismic event classification performance of each algorithmic model, we evaluated the proposed algorithms through the dimensions of the accuracy, precision, and recall of each model. The validation results demonstrated that the best performing decision tree algorithm among the classical machine learning algorithms had an accuracy of 88.75%, while the ensemble algorithms, including random forest, Gradient Boosting Trees, Extreme Gradient Boosting, and Light Gradient Boosting Machine, had an accuracy range from 93.5% to 94.2% and also achieved better results in the combined evaluation of the precision, recall, and F1 score. The specific classification tests for each microseismic event category showed the same results. The results suggested that the ensemble learning algorithms show better results compared to the classical machine learning algorithms.

Accurate tissue segmentation of thick-slice fetal brain magnetic resonance (MR) scans is crucial for both reconstruction of isotropic brain MR volumes and the quantification of fetal brain development. However, this task is challenging due to the use of thick-slice scans in clinically-acquired fetal brain data. To address this issue, we propose to leverage high-quality isotropic fetal brain MR volumes (and also their corresponding annotations) as guidance for segmentation of thick-slice scans. Due to existence of significant domain gap between high-quality isotropic volume (i.e., source data) and thick-slice scans (i.e., target data), we employ a domain adaptation technique to achieve the associated knowledge transfer (from high-quality "source" volumes to thick-slice "target" scans). Specifically, we first register the available high-quality isotropic fetal brain MR volumes across different gestational weeks to construct longitudinally-complete source data. To capture domain-invariant information, we then perform Fourier decomposition to extract image content and style codes. Finally, we propose a novel Cycle-Consistent Domain Adaptation Network (C 2 DA-Net) to efficiently transfer the knowledge learned from high-quality isotropic volumes for accurate tissue segmentation of thick-slice scans. Our C 2 DA-Net can fully utilize a small set of annotated isotropic volumes to guide tissue segmentation on unannotated thick-slice scans. Extensive experiments on a large-scale dataset of 372 clinically acquired thick-slice MR scans demonstrate that our C 2 DA-Net achieves much better performance than cutting-edge methods quantitatively and qualitatively.

Aiming at the multi-attribute bilateral matching problem with unknown attribute weights under a linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy environment, a decision method based on TODIM considering satisfaction and fairness degrees is proposed. First, the theories of linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy sets and bilateral matching are given, and the multi-attribute bilateral matching problem under a linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy environment is described. To solve this problem, according to linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy preference matrices, the overall attribute dominances are calculated based on TODIM; considering group consensus, a new method is proposed to calculate attribute weights based on linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy induced ordered weighted averaging (LIFIOWA) operator; then, the overall dominances of bilateral subjects are obtained by aggregating the overall attribute dominances and attribute weights. Furthermore, the overall dominances are standardized to calculate the satisfaction degrees of bilateral subjects; the fairness degrees of bilateral subjects are calculated considering the loss attenuation coefficient. Based on satisfaction degree matrices, fairness degree matrices and bilateral matching matrices, multiple bilateral matching models are established and then solved to obtain the optimal bilateral matching scheme. Finally, an example shows the effectiveness, reliability and accuracy of the proposed method. The research results indicate the following main characteristics of the proposed method: (1) A new method for calculating the unknown attribute weights using LIFIOWA operator is proposed. (2) According to the TODIM idea, a calculation method for fairness degree considering the loss attenuation coefficient is proposed. Protein function annotation has been one of the longstanding issues in biological sciences, and various computational methods have been developed. However, the existing methods suffer from a serious long-tail problem, with a large number of GO families containing few annotated proteins. Herein, an innovative strategy named AnnoPRO was therefore constructed by enabling sequence-based multi-scale protein representation, dual-path protein encoding using pre-training, and function annotation by long short-term memory-based decoding. A variety of case studies based on different benchmarks were conducted, which confirmed the superior performance of AnnoPRO among available methods. Background: This study aimed to develop a risk prediction model for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) throughout pregnancy in Indonesian women., Methods: We conducted a multicenter retrospective longitudinal study involving pregnant women in Indonesia, who sought care at obstetrics clinics from January 2023 to March 2023, encompassing all stages of pregnancy. We collected data on their predictive factors and SUI outcome. SUI was diagnosed based on responses to the "leaks when you are physically active/exercising" criterion in the ICIQ-UI-SF questionnaire during our investigation of the participants. The models underwent internal validation using a bootstrapping method with 1000 resampling iterations to assess discrimination and calibration., Results: A total of 660 eligible pregnant women were recruited from the two study centers, with an overall SUI prevalence of 39% (258/660). The final model incorporated three predictive factors: BMI during pregnancy, constipation, and previous delivery mode. The area under the curve (AUROC) was 0.787 (95% CI: 0.751-0.823). According to the max Youden index, the optimal cut-off point was 44.6%, with a sensitivity of 79.9% and specificity of 65.9%. A discrimination slope of 0.213 was found., Conclusion: The developed risk prediction model for SUI in pregnant women offers a valuable tool for early identification and intervention among high-risk SUI populations in Indonesian pregnant women throughout their pregnancies. These findings challenge the assumption that a high BMI and multiple previous deliveries are predictors of SUI in Indonesian women. RNA viruses are major human pathogens that cause seasonal epidemics and occasional pandemic outbreaks. Due to the nature of their RNA genomes, it is anticipated that virus's RNA interacts with host protein (INTPRO), messenger RNA (INTmRNA), and non-coding RNA (INTncRNA) to perform their particular functions during their transcription and replication. In other words, thus, it is urgently needed to have such valuable data on virus RNA-directed molecular interactions (especially INTPROs), which are highly anticipated to attract broad research interests in the fields of RNA virus translation and replication. In this study, a new database was constructed to describe the virus RNA-directed interaction (INTPRO, INTmRNA, INTncRNA) for RNA virus (RVvictor). This database is unique in a) unambiguously characterizing the interactions between viruses RNAs and host proteins, b) providing, for the first time, the most systematic RNA-directed interaction data resources in providing clues to understand the molecular mechanisms of RNA viruses' translation, and replication, and c) in RVvictor, comprehensive enrichment analysis is conducted for each virus RNA based on its associated target genes/proteins, and the enrichment results were explicitly illustrated using various graphs. We found significant enrichment of a suite of pathways related to infection, translation, and replication, e.g., HIV infection, coronavirus disease, regulation of viral genome replication, and so on. Due to the devastating and persistent threat posed by the RNA virus, RVvictor constructed, for the first time, a possible network of cross-talk in RNA-directed interaction, which may ultimately explain the pathogenicity of RNA virus infection. Purpose: A discussion about the correlation between the level of serum sodium and sepsis-induced coagulopathy (SIC)., Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on sepsis patients who were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022. Based on the presence of coagulation disorders, the patients were divided into two groups: sepsis-induced coagulopathy (SIC) and non-sepsis-induced coagulopathy (non-SIC) groups. We recorded demographic characteristics and laboratory indicators at the time of ICU admission, and analyzed relationship between serum sodium level and SIC., Results: One hundred and twenty-five patients with sepsis were enrolled, among which, the SIC and the non-SIC groups included 62 and 63 patients, respectively. Compared to patients in the non-SIC group, the level of serum sodium of those in the SIC was significantly higher ( p < 0.001). Multi-factor logistic regression showed serum sodium level was independently associated with SIC (or = 1.127, p = 0.001). Pearson's correlation analysis indicated that the higher the serum sodium level, the significantly higher the SIC score was ( r  = 0.373, p < 0.001). Single-cell proteomics (SCP) has emerged as a powerful tool for detecting cellular heterogeneity, offering unprecedented insights into biological mechanisms that are masked in bulk cell populations. With the rapid advancements in AI-based time trajectory analysis and cell subpopulation identification, there exists a pressing need for a database that not only provides SCP raw data but also explicitly describes experimental details and protein expression profiles. However, no such database has been available yet. In this study, a database, entitled 'SingPro', specializing in single-cell proteomics was thus developed. It was unique in (a) systematically providing the SCP raw data for both mass spectrometry-based and flow cytometry-based studies and (b) explicitly describing experimental detail for SCP study and expression profile of any studied protein. Anticipating a robust interest from the research community, this database is poised to become an invaluable repository for OMICs-based biomedical studies.
