203. A clinicopathological study of perianal paget disease: A single center-based cohort study and literature review.

Abstract

Background: Perianal Paget disease (PPD), an uncommon extramammary Paget disease, is characterized by intraepidermal pagetoid spread of atypical Paget cells in the perianal skin. PPDs can be primary or secondary. Secondary PPDs have poorer prognosis due to progression of the underlying anorectal carcinoma. Objectives: We analyzed the clinicopathological features of PPDs to determine the primary versus secondary PPD. Methods: We reviewed the clinicopathological features, including evidence of underlying anorectal carcinomas, tumor immunoprofiles, treatments, and outcomes of 8 cases of PPD diagnosed in our department during 1992–2019. Results: Colonoscopy was performed in 6 cases; rectal adenocarcinoma and anal canal adenocarcinoma were detected in 2 cases each. Three patients had local recurrence(s). Based on the detection of underlying anorectal cancers and immunoprofiles, 2 cases were classified as primary (one with perianal squamous cell carcinoma), 4 secondary, and 2 inconclusive for primary or secondary PPD. The immunoprofiles were CK7(+)/CK20(−)/GCDFP-15(−)/CDX2(−) in the primary PPDs; CK7(+/−)/CK20(+)/GCDFP-15(−)/CDX2(+) in the secondary and inconclusive PPDs. Eventually, all patients with secondary PPD died of the disease; one primary PPD and one inclusive PPD cases died of unrelated causes. Conclusion: We report the clinicopathological features of 8 cases of PPD in Taiwanese and first describe differential CK7 expression in the epidermal and dermal tumor cells in 2 cases of secondary PPDs, which may provide a clue to the diagnosis of secondary PPD. Since an underlying anorectal carcinoma in PPDs may be undetectable by colonoscopy, it is essential to consider anoscopy and/or anal canal mucosal biopsy to search for an occult anorectal carcinoma. 212. High Throughput Risk and Impact Screening of Chemicals in Consumer Products

Abstract

The ubiquitous presence of more than 80,000 chemicals in thousands of consumer products used on a daily basis stresses the need for screening a broader set of chemicals than the traditional well-studied suspect chemicals. This high-throughput screening combines stochastic chemical-product usage with mass balance-based exposure models and toxicity data to prioritize risks associated with household products. We first characterize product usage using the stochastic SHEDS-HT model and chemical content in common household products from the CPDat database, the chemical amounts applied daily varying over more than six orders of magnitude, from mg to kg. We then estimate multi-pathways near- and far-field exposures for 5,500 chemical-product combinations, applying an extended USEtox model to calculate product intake fractions ranging from 0.001 to ∼1, and exposure doses varying over more than nine orders of magnitude. Combining exposure doses with chemical-specific dose–responses and reference doses shows that risks can be substantial for multiple home maintenance products, such as paints or paint strippers, for some home-applied pesticides, leave-on personal care products, and cleaning products. Sixty percent of the chemical-product combinations have hazard quotients exceeding 1, and 9% of the combinations have lifetime cancer risks exceeding 10−4. Population-level impacts of household products ingredients can be substantial, representing 5 to 100 minutes of healthy life lost per day, with users’ exposures up to 103 minutes per day. To address this issue, present mass balance-based models are already able to provide exposure estimates for both users and populations. Some new solitary solutions of (3+1)-dimensional Jimbo-Miwa equation such as breather solutions, double breather solutions and mixed solutions of different forms are studied via applying Hirota's bilinear form and constructing various trial functions. Besides, the degradation phenomenon of breather solution to lump-type solution is investigated, and dynamical behaviours of the interaction between solitary solutions and lump-type solutions varying with time t is discussed. Finally, the interactive result between N-soliton solution (N takes any positive integer) and lump-type solution is studied by reducing dimension, and the detailed proof process is presented. Abstract

BACKGROUND Laminaria japonica polysaccharide (LJP), a fucose enriched sulfated polysaccharide has been demonstrated to have excellent anticoagulant and antithrombotic activities. However, the antithrombotic effect of low molecular weight polysaccharide from enzymatically modified of LJP (LMWEP) remains unknown. MATERIAL AND METHODS LMWEP was prepared by fucoidanase enzymatic hydrolysis, and the antithrombotic and anticoagulant activities, and the underlying mechanism were investigated thoroughly. Rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (8 rats in each group): the blank control group, the blank control group treated with LMWEP (20 mg/kg), the model group, the model group treated with heparin (2 mg/kg), the model group treated with LJP (20 mg/kg), and the model group treated with LMWEP (20 mg/kg). After 7 days of intravenous administration, blood was collected for biochemical parameters examinations. RESULTS LMWEP increased the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT), prothrombin time (PT), 6-keto prostaglandin F1alpha (6-Keto-PGF1alpha), and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). In addition, LMWEP decreased fibrinogen (FIB), endothelin-1 (ET-1), thromboxane B2 (TXB2), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and hematocrit (HCT). CONCLUSIONS LMWEP, an enzymatically modified fragment with a molecular weight of 25.8 kDa, is a potential antithrombotic candidate for treatment of thrombosis related diseases.

Abstract

In this paper, the three-wave solution of ($$2+1$$)-dimensional generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation is obtained by using Hirotas bilinear method and three-wave method. We study the deformation characteristics of three-wave solution by taking different parameter values. A new lump solution is obtained when we study the degenerate behavior of three-wave solutions. Besides, we give an existence theorem of the interaction between lump solution and different forms of N-solitons ($$N\rightarrow \infty $$) and give a detailed calculation and proof process. Some new interaction solutions, such as lump N-solitons type, lump N-logarithmic type, lump cos–sin–exponential type, higher-order lump-type solutions, are used as examples to illustrate the correctness and effectiveness of the description theorem. We also give the evolutionary structure plots of the superposition behavior between lump solutions and solitons, and study the interaction behavior between lump-type solutions and solitons.

Abstract

In this paper, a Riesz space fractional reaction-diffusion equation with non-linear source term is considered on a finite domain. This equation is commonly used to describe anomalous diffusion in thermal science. To solve the diffusion equation, a new fractional lattice Boltzmann method is proposed. Firstly, a difference approximation for the global spatial correlation of Riesz fractional derivative is derived by applying the numerical discretization technique, and a brief convergence analysis is presented. Then the global spatial correlation process is inserted into the evolution process of the standard lattice Boltzmann method. With combining Taylor expansion, Chapman-Enskog expansion and the multi-scales expansion, the governing evolution equation is recovered from the continuous Boltzmann equation. Three numerical examples are provided to confirm our theoretical analysis and illustrate the effectiveness of our method at last.
