GAALOP (Geometric Algebra ALgorithms OPtimizer) is software designed to optimize the execution of multiple steps in a Geometric Algebra algorithm by analysing the steps as a whole and precompiling the intermediate code generated. The output is provided in a format that allows it to target popular software languages and systems such as C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, Mathematica and parallel platforms such as OpenCL, CUDA, FPGA and many more.We present a method of executing Geometric Algebra algorithms using simulated memristor crossbar arrays to perform dot product calculations.

PROMIS Pediatric Anxiety and Pain Interference Scales were administered at an initial evaluation visit.Results: The program received 1488 referrals between 2016 and 2019, representing 1338 patients, with increasing volume of referrals over time. Referrals were primarily from orthopedics (19.6%), physical medicine and rehabilitation (18.8%), neurology (14.4%), and rheumatology (12.6%). Patients referred were primarily female (75.4%), White (80.1%), English-speaking (98.4%) adolescents (median=15.0 years). Of those referred, 732 (54.7%) attended an interdisciplinary evaluation (ie, with ≥ 2 disciplines). Adolescent anxiety was within the expected range by self-report (N=327, MT-score=55.67) and parent proxy-report (N=354, MT-score=57.70). Pain interference was moderately elevated by self-report (N=323, MT-score=61.52) and parent proxy-report (N=356, MT-score=64.02). Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a severe psychiatric health condition. The illness is characterized by heterogenous symptoms like a depressed mood, a loss of pleasure and interest, and a reduction in energy which results in fatigue and lower activity. While the psychological and social risk factors for developing and maintaining a MDD are already largely known, the underlying biological mechanisms are not yet fully understood. The interdisciplinary field of psychoneuroimmunology aims to address this problem. It deals with the interaction of the psyche, the nervous, endocrine, and the immune system. Accelerated cell aging in form of premature immune cell telomere length shortening has already been shown to be associated with depression. Furthermore, the upcoming approach of metabolomics is involved to uncover biological pathways in psychiatric disorders. In this study both approaches were combined by investigating the association between blood serum metabolites and telomere length (TL) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and T cell subsets in 44 women with and without MDD. Correlation analyses showed that a total of n = 13 endogenous and exogenous metabolites were significantly associated with TL measured in one of the five different immune cell types. Additionally, the association between these metabolites and depressive symptoms were investigated in the total sample as well as in the MDD group separately. Background & aims With the increase in patients at risk of advanced liver disease due to the obesity epidemic, there will be a need for simple screening tools for advanced liver fibrosis. Soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (sST2) is a serum biomarker for fibrotic processes. The aim of this study was to evaluate sST2 as marker for liver fibrosis in patients successfully treated for chronic hepatitis C. Methods 424 patients from the Swiss Hepatitis C Cohort Study were screened for inclusion in this post-hoc cohort study. Inclusion criteria were sustained virological response (SVR), available elastography (VCTE) and serum samples for biomarker analysis before and after treatment. For the validation of sST2, values were compared to VCTE, FIB-4 and APRI using Spearman’s correlation and AUROC analyses. Results Data of 164 subjects were finally analyzed. Median sST2 values slightly increased with VCTE-derived fibrosis stages and remained stable after reaching SVR within the respective fibrosis stage, suggesting that sST2 is not influenced by liver inflammation. However, correlation of sST2 pre- and post-treatment with VCTE was fair (Spearman’s rho = 0.39 and rho = 0.36). The area under the curve (AUROC) for sST2 in detecting VCTE-defined F4 fibrosis (vs. F0-F3) before therapy was 0.74 (95%CI 0.65–0.83), and 0.67(95%CI 0.56–0.78) for the discrimination of F3/F4 fibrosis vs. F0-F2. Adding sST2 to either APRI or FIB-4, respectively, increased diagnostic performance of both tests. Conclusions sST2 can potentially identify patients with advanced fibrosis as a single serum marker and in combination with APRI and FIB-4.
