Single-phase KLaSr3( PO4)3F: Sm3+ phosphors with fluorapatite structure were prepared via high-temperature solid-state method in air atmosphere for the first time. The X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, diffuse reflectance spectra, photoluminescence spectra, and temperature-dependent emission spectra, as well as lifetimes were measured to characterize the as-prepared phosphors. Phase results indicated that KLaSr3( PO4)3F: Sm3+ belongs to hexagonal system with a space group of P-6. Photoluminescence measurements showed the emission spectrum was composed of four sharp peaks at about 564, 602 (the strongest one), 646, and 702 nm, corresponding to the 4G5/2-6 H J ( J=5/2, 7/2, 9/2, and 11/2) transitions of Sm3+ ions. The optimum doping concentration of Sm3+ ions was turned out to be 0.03 (mol), and the mechanism of energy transfer among Sm3+ ions was considered to be dipole-dipole interaction by using Dexter's theory. In addition, the critical distance Rc for energy transfer among Sm3+ ions were calculated to be 9.97 Å according to Blasse concentration quenching method. The selected KLa0.97Sr( PO4)3F: 0.03Sm3+ exhibited high thermal stability with an activation energy of 0.163 eV. The lutetium containing nitride apatite Lu5(SiO4)3N was prepared by a solid state reaction at high temperature for the first time. Rietveld refinement indicated that the Lu5(SiO4)3N compound has a hexagonal space group of P63/m with cell parameters a = b = 9.700 Å and c = 7.238 Å. Additionally, the results revealed that there are two distinct lutetium sites in the Lu5(SiO4)3N host lattice, i.e. a Lu(1) site with nine coordination (Wyckoff site 4f) and a Lu(2) site with seven coordination (Wyckoff site 6h). Furthermore, the ratio of the number of Lu atoms in Lu(1) and Lu(2) sites is 3 : 2. The band gap for Lu5(SiO4)3N was determined to be 4.12 eV based on the density functional theory (DFT). In the Ce3+ doped Lu5(SiO4)3N:0.03Ce3+ compound, the emission peak centered at 462 nm was observed with the Commission International de I'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.148, 0.184), indicating blue-emission. Remarkably, in Ce3+ and Tb3+ co-doped Lu4.97−y(SiO4)3N:0.03Ce3+,yTb3+ compounds, the color-tunability was observed with increasing Tb3+ co-doping rate on moving from blue at Tb3+ = 0.00 to green at Tb = 0.09, due to the energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ ions being matched well with the decay curve results. Under the excitation at 359 nm, the absolute quantum efficiency (QE) for Lu5(SiO4)3N:0.03Ce3+ was determined to be 42.13%. Single-phase Ba 10− x − y (PO 4 ) 6 O: x Eu 2+ , y Mn 2+ samples with apatite structure have been synthesized via a solid-state reaction method. The phase structure, luminescence properties, lifetime, PL thermal stability, as well as fluorescence decay curves of the samples were investigated. Effective energy transfer occurs from Eu 2+ to Mn 2+ in Ba 10 (PO 4 ) 6 O and a possible mechanism of the energy-transfer from Eu 2+ to Mn 2+ is proposed. The critical distances R c was calculated by concentration quenching and turned out to be about 0.817 nm ( x c =0.21). The CIE and thermally stable luminescence behaviors of Ba 9.94 (PO 4 ) 6 O:0.06Eu 2+ phosphor were also studied in detail. All the results indicate that Ba 10− x − y (PO 4 ) 6 O: x Eu 2+ , y Mn 2+ phosphors have potential applications as near UV-convertible phosphors for white light-emitting diodes. This study aimed to establish a method for the simultaneous determination of isoquercitrin, trifolin and afzelin in A. persica flowers by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ionic liquid as extractant and ultrasonic-assisted extraction. The effects of ionic liquid concentration, solid–liquid ratio, number of crushing mesh, ultrasonic time, extraction temperature, and ultrasonic power on the extraction yield of three target compounds were investigated using the extraction yield of target analytes as the index. According to the results of single factor experiment, the Box-Behnken design-response surface methodology (BBD) was used to optimize the extraction method and compared with the traditional extraction method. The results showed that, calibration curves had excellent linearity (R2 > 0.9990) within the test ranges. In combination with other validation data, this method demonstrated good reliability and sensitivity, and can be conveniently used for the quantification of isoquercitrin, trifolin and afzelinin A. persica flowers. And the contents of isoquercitrin, trifolin and afzelin were 64.08, 20.55 and 75.63 μg/g, respectively. The optimal process obtained by BBD was as follows: ionic liquid concentration was 1.0 mol/L, solid–liquid ratio was 1:40 g/ml, mesh sieve was 50 mesh, ultrasonic time was 40 min, extraction temperature was 50 °C, and ultrasonic power was 400 W. Under the optimal conditions, the theoretical predicted total extraction yield of the three target compounds was 159.77 μg/g, which was close to the actual extraction value (160.26 μg/g, n = 3), this result indicating that the optimal process parameters obtained by response surface methodology analysis were accurate and reliable. The combination of up-conversion materials and photocatalysts can produce the effect of "redshifting" of absorption spectrum, which is of great significance for improving the degradation efficiency of photocatalysts. To improve the utilization of CdS in near-infrared light, the up-conversion luminescent material K3ScF6:Tm3+,Yb3+ with cryolite structure was synthesized by high-temperature solid-phase reaction method, and a new photocatalytic composite material K3ScF6:Tm3+,Yb3 + /CdS was prepared by combining it with CdS by high-energy ball milling method. The composition, structure and properties were systematically characterized by X-ray powder diffractometer ( XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy ( SEM), fluorescence spectroscopy (PL) and UV-Vis diffuse reflection absorption spectroscopy. Simultaneously, the photodegradation efficiency and mechanism of K3 ScF6: Tm3 +, Yb3 + /CdS to rhodamine B ( RhB) were studied. The results show that the optimal mass composition ratio of K3ScF6:Tm3+,Yb3 + and CdS is 3. 6:1, and the introduction of up-conversion luminescent materials K3ScF6:Tm3+,Yb3 + synergistically promots the photocatalytic efficiency of CdS. The • OH and • O²- participated in the degradation of RhB, and • OH plays a major role. In addition, under the optimal recombination ratio, the degradation rate of K3ScF6:Tm3+, Yb3 + /CdS samples reaches 99. 9%, which is nearly 50 times higher than that of uncompounded CdS after 80 min. A series of novel luminescent phosphors Sr 10 (PO 4 ) 6 O:Eu 2+ with apatite structure were synthesized via a high temperature solid-state reaction. The phase structure, photoluminescence (PL) properties, the PL thermal stability, as well as the fluorescence decay curves of the samples were investigated to characterize the resulting samples, and the selected Sr 9.97 (PO 4 ) 6 O:0.03Eu 2+ phosphor exhibits strong thermal quenching resistance, retaining the luminance of 88.73% at 150 °C. The quenching concentration of Eu 2+ in Sr 10 (PO 4 ) 6 O was about 0.03 attributing to the dipole–quadrupole interaction. The Sr 10 (PO 4 ) 6 O:Eu 2+ phosphor exhibited a broad-band blue emission at 439 nm upon excitation at 346 nm. A series of new luminescent emission-tunable phosphors Sr 2 La 8 (SiO 4 ) 6 O 2 :Ce 3+ , Tb 3+ with apatite structure have been synthesized by a high temperature solid-state reaction. The phase structure, photoluminescence emission and excitation spectra, lifetime, as well as the effect of Tb 3+ concentration are investigated to characterize the resulting samples. The critical distance was calculated to be 8.26 Å by using the concentration quenching method. The intense green emission was observed in the Sr 2 La 8 (SiO 4 ) 6 O 2 :Ce 3+ , Tb 3+ phosphors on the basis of the efficient energy transfer from Ce 3+ to Tb 3+ with an efficiency of 68.55%. And a possible mechanism of the energy-transfer from Ce 3+ to Tb 3+ ion is also proposed. The results indicate that Sr 2 La 8 (SiO 4 ) 6 O 2 :Ce 3+ , Tb 3+ phosphors have potential applications to be used as near UV-convertible phosphors for white light-emitting diodes because of the broad excitation in the near-ultraviolet range and the efficient green emission light. The black carbon (BC) mass concentration and the particle chemical compositions were continually measured at Changdao Island, which is a regional receptor site off the eastern coast of China. This island is in the transport passage of the continental outflow to the Pacific Ocean when the East Asia monsoon prevails in the winter and spring. The campaign period was for March and April 2011, which corresponded to heating and non-heating periods in northern China. The effect of BC emission source regions on BC measured at Changdao Island between the heating and non-heating periods was determined by integrating the total potential source contribution function (TPSCF) model with the new monthly emission inventory in 2010 and the fire counts retrieved from MODIS during the campaign. BC concentrations were determined to be highest for similar times of day for both the heating and non-heating periods: 4.27 μg m −3 at 8:00 AM and 3.06 μg m −3 at 9:00 AM, respectively. The probable source regions for BC were primarily located in Shandong and Jiangsu provinces (and in other neighboring provinces) for both periods. However, the source regions for the non-heating period extended more to the north and southwest than those of the heating period. TPSCF values were correlated with the emission rates from residential, industry, transportation, and power plants sources in the anthropogenic emission inventory. This correlation provides an indirect and qualitative process to verify the emission inventory. In the heating period, the predominant source was the residential source in the emission inventory, and this source had a significant effect on the BC concentration. The differing peak concentrations between the two periods may be observed because of the increased residential heating during the heating period, which suggested that the measures employed by the government and environmental managers to reduce the emissions of pollutants should be stricter in the identified source regions during the heating period. Two kinds of natural apatite minerals were obtained from two different phosphate deposits in northern China, FanShan, Hebei province and HeiYingShan, Inner Mongolia province. Their chemical compositions, phase structure, and cathodoluminescence (CL) have been comparatively investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated that the raw phosphate minerals from FanShan mainly are composed of FanShan apatite (FA) and FanShan mica, respectively, while the ore sample from HeiYingShan contained HeiYingshan apatite (HA) and HeiYingshan magnetite. The mineralogical characteristics and crystal structure of FA and HA were further determined by XRD, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray fluorescence spectrometer, and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry, respectively. These results indicate that FA belongs to fluorapatite, while the HA belongs to hydroxyapatite. The existence of some trace elements has also been verified by the measured CL spectrum. Abstract: A series of new luminescent emission-tunable phosphors La6Ba4(SiO4)6F2:Ce3+,Tb3+ with apatite structure have been synthesized by a high temperature solid-state reaction. X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence (PL) emission and excitation spectra, lifetime, as well as the effect of Tb3+ concentration were employed to characterize the resulting samples. The PL spectrum of La6Ba4(SiO4)6F2:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphor contains both the asymmetric broad-band blue emission (Ce3+ ion) and the line-type green emission (Tb3+ ion). The increased Tb3+ concentration induced the emitting colors to shift from blue to green region by the naked eye. Meanwhile, the energy transfer between Ce3+ and Tb3+ is thoroughly investigated, and the energy-transfer efficiency from Ce3+ to Tb3+ ion is also calculated. Abstract: We report a series of color-tunable Sr3.45Y6.5O2(PO4)1.5(SiO4)4.5:Eu2+,Mn2+ (SYPSO:Eu2+,Mn2+) phosphors in this work. The photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra, lifetime, and concentration-dependent effect were investigated, respectively. The energy transfer (ET) mechanism was verified as the dipole–dipole interaction, and the ET efficiency as well as the critical distance is also estimated. The emission colors of the obtained phosphors can be tuned from green to yellow by controlling the doping content of the Mn2+ ions with the fixed Eu2+ content. These results indicate that SYPSO:Eu2+,Mn2+ can be acted as a good candidate for the application in white light-emitting diodes. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Cryolite has been considered as an appropriate host for up-conversion materials due to its low phonon energy, wide light transmission range, easy to form waveguide and stable structure. In this paper, a series of up-conversion materials Cs 3 YF 6 : Er3+, Yb3+ with cryolite structure were prepared by high-temperature solid-phase method. The structure, morphology, element composition and up-conversion luminescence properties of as-prepared samples were characterized. In addition, the number of photons absorbed during the up-conversion process and the possible up-conversion luminescence mechanism are analyzed in detail. Under the excitation of 980 ​nm, the Cs 3 YF 6 : Er3+, Yb3+ sample emits strong green light visible to the naked eye. Simultaneously, the maximum absolute sensitivity (S a) and relative sensitivity (S r) were calculated. All the results indicated that Cs 3 YF 6 : Er3+, Yb3+ has potential applications in the fields of green light display and temperature sensing. Metarhizium anisopliae is a well-characterized entomopathogenic fungus that attacks a variety of insects. Its conidia are involved in its propagation and also in its infection of host insects. To investigate the protein expression profiles and to identify the proteins related to development and pathogenesis, we performed a comparative proteomic analysis of the conidia and mycelia of an M. anisopliae strain (Ma1291). The analysis used 2-dimensional gel electrophoresis and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. We detected 898 ± 37 protein spots in conidia and 1072 ± 24 in mycelia of strain Ma1291. A comparison of the 2 protein-expression profiles indicated that only 28% of protein spots were common to both developmental stages. Finally, we identified 30 proteins (19 from conidia and 11 from mycelia). The identified proteins exclusive to conidia were those involved in protective processes, appressorium formation, and degradation of the host cuticle (protease PR1H). The identified proteins exclusive to mycelia included major proteins participating in biosynthetic and energy metabolism, such as UTP-glucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase and heat shock protein 70. This research provides the first proteomic analysis of different developmental stages of M. anisopliae, and the results should facilitate clarification of the molecular basis of these epigenetic variations. CVD synthetic diamond plays an important role in the jewelry market due to its excellent performance and low cost. In this paper, colorless CVD synthetic diamonds produced by a Chinese company were investigated in detail with their gemological, spectroscopic, and luminescent properties compared with natural colorless diamonds. Compared with natural diamonds, CVD synthetic diamonds have high-order interference color and more apparent abnormal birefringence. The results of infrared spectra indicate that all the CVD samples are classified as type IIa, while the natural samples belong to type Ia. The CVD samples show lamellar growth and mottled luminescence pattern and have blue, orange red, purple red, and blue fluorescence, respectively, while most of the natural samples show blue fluorescence. CVD diamonds show lamellar growth structure, and natural diamonds show irregular ring-like growth structure. Thus, multiple methods combined with analysis are required to distinguish synthetic diamonds from natural diamonds. Traditional luminescent materials commonly exhibit single‐duration emissions and single‐timed emissions with limited emission peaks. Developing a material with multicolor, variable temporal, and multimodal luminescence is a significant challenge. Self‐reduction phosphors have attracted considerable interest for their distinctive properties and versatile applications. Distinguished by their rigid structure and exceptional purity, offer a safer alternative to conventional reduction methods using hazardous gases H2/CO/N2. However, synthesizing these phosphors with precise control over self‐reduction and defect regulation is complex. Therefore, innovative structures and substrates are essential to address these challenges. This review discusses the latest developments in phosphors doped with ions such as Eu3+, Mn4+, Ce4+, and Yb3+, examining the origins and advancements in self‐reduction. It covers classifications, mechanisms, defects, and applications, with an emphasis on techniques for controlled self‐reduction through structural and charge transfer modifications. Following the rapid growth of lightning technology, the development of red-emitting phosphors is effective for improving color temperature and color rendering index for w-LEDs devices. Herein, a single phased garnet phosphor with cation and polyhedron substitution modification was firstly prepared. For Mg 3 Gd 2 Ge 3 O 12 : Bi3+, Eu3+, the intensity has been remarkably improved by about 16% compared to the one without Bi3+ sensitization. The energy transfer mechanism is identified in this work. Based on cation and polyhedron substitution strategies, novel phosphors with different compositions were obtained and further modified the PL properties. With Lu3+ substitution, the bond lengths between Bi3+ ion and anion ligands are decreased and the site symmetry has been strengthened, which leads to a 21 nm blue shift when Lu3+ totally replaced Gd3+ ions. In addition, Lu3+ and [SiO 4 ] substitution strategies both effectively increased symmetric rigid structure, which leads to a significant improvement in thermal stability, indicating the samples own great potential in optical applications This work provides a new insight to synthesis red-emitting phosphors for warm white-LEDs. A new kind of multicolor phosphor Ba 2 La 3 (SiO 4) 3 Cl:0.15Tb3+, x Eu3+ (BLSOCl:0.15Tb3+, x Eu3+) has been acquired through the traditional high temperature solid phase synthesis method. The structure information of the phosphor was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Rietveld refinement. The optical properties of the phosphor have also been studied in detail, including photoluminescence spectra (PL), photoluminescence excitation spectra (PLE), fluorescence decay curves, energy transfer mechanism and thermal quenching spectra.
