Thin slab casting and direct rolling (TSCR) technology has experienced 30 years of development since the first production line was commissioned in 1989. Owing to consistent and successful exploration and innovation by engineers and researchers, rapid progress in TSCR technology has been witnessed. Under the background of carbon neutrality, the steel industry encounters tremendous pressure for low carbon emissions. As one of the representative near-net-shape steel manufacturing technologies, TSCR technology has attracted extensive attention. This article reviewed the development history and evolution of critical process equipment for the TSCR technology. According to the continuous extent of the manufacturing process, the TSCR technology can be classified into the following three generations, i.e., batch rolling, semiendless rolling, and endless rolling. With the improvement of the continuity of TSCR technology, the production line is greatly shortened, especially the third-generation technology, the endless strip production line. Meanwhile, the increase in continuity substantially increases productivity, production yield, and energy efficiency and expands the thinnest strip thickness down to 0.6 mm. Additionally, the specific characteristics of processing and physical metallurgy of TSCR technology were analyzed. Based on its characteristics of rapid solidification, heavy reduction per rolling pass, and uniform temperature distribution, TSCR technology was suggested to produce special steel, high strength steel, silicon steel, and thin gauge products. New advances on the development of representative products for TSCR technology, e.g., medium- and high-carbon steels, high-strength hot-rolled steels, and silicon steels, and their practical application status were discussed. Finally, this work envisaged the future development directions of TSCR technology and proposed that making the process more concise and continuous, developing product-oriented production lines, and coupling intelligent manufacturing with TSCR technology will be important development directions in the future.

Chiral aziridines are important motifs in natural products and biologically significant compounds, as well as one of the most valuable and versatile building blocks for the construction of diverse chiral functionalized amines. Because of the importance of chiral aziridines, various novel transition‐metal‐based catalytic systems and synthetic strategies have been established to investigate the highly effective and enantioselective aziridination process. This review outlined the recent significant advances made in the transition‐metal catalyzed enantioselective aziridination reactions, as well as the challenges and potential of the field at the current stage. Natural products (NPs) are indispensable in drug development, particularly in combating infections, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. However, their limited availability poses significant challenges. Template-free de novo biosynthetic pathway design provides a strategic solution for NP production, with deep learning standing out as a powerful tool in this domain. This review delves into state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms in NP biosynthesis pathway design. It provides an in-depth discussion of databases like Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Reactome, and UniProt, which are essential for model training, along with chemical databases such as Reaxys, SciFinder, and PubChem for transfer learning to expand models' understanding of the broader chemical space. It evaluates the potential and challenges of sequence-to-sequence and graph-to-graph translation models for accurate single-step prediction. Additionally, it discusses search algorithms for multistep prediction and deep learning algorithms for predicting enzyme function. The review also highlights the pivotal role of deep learning in improving catalytic efficiency through enzyme engineering, which is essential for enhancing NP production. Moreover, it examines the application of large language models in pathway design, enzyme discovery, and enzyme engineering. The conventional method for synthesizing gold nanobipyramids (AuNBPs) is well established. However, the cytotoxicity resulting from the conjugates between hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and gold limits their biomedical applications. This study introduces a dual surfactant approach with CTAB and sodium oleate (NaOL) in the seed‐mediated synthesis of the AuNBPs, which can significantly reduce the CTAB concentration to 10 mM. Additionally, optimal growth conditions are achieved by varying the volumes of seed solution, AgNO3, and HCl. Under low CTAB concentrations, AuNBPs with tunable sizes and localized surface plasmon resonances between 600 and 1200 nm are successfully synthesized, as characterized by UV–vis‐NIR spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) simulations. This work demonstrates a method for synthesizing AuNBPs at low CTAB concentrations using binary surfactants and provides a framework applicable to the synthesis of other metallic nanomaterials. Metallo‐supramolecular cages have garnered tremendous attention for their diverse yet molecular‐level precision structures. However, the physical properties of these supramolecular ensembles, which are of potential significance in molecular electronics, remain largely unexplored. We herein constructed a series of octahedral metallo‐cages and cage‐fullerene complexes with notably enhanced structural stability. As such, we could systematically evaluate the electrical conductivity of these ensembles at both the single‐molecule level and aggregated bulk state (as well‐defined films). Our findings reveal that counteranions and fullerene guests play a pivotal role in determining the electrical conductivity of the aggregated state, while such effects are less significant for single‐molecule conductance. Both the counteranions and fullerenes effectively tune the electronic structures and packing density of metallo‐supramolecular assemblies, and facilitate efficient charge transfer between the cage hosts and fullerenes, resulting in a notable one order of magnitude increase in the electrical conductivity of the aggregated state. A series of TADF‐active compounds: 0D chiral Ln−Ag(I) clusters L‐/D‐Ln2Ag28‐0D (Ln=Eu/Gd) and 2D chiral Ln−Ag(I) cluster‐based frameworks L‐/D‐Ln2Ag28‐2D (Ln=Gd) has been synthesized. Atomic‐level structural analysis showed that the chiral Ag(I) cluster units {Ag14S12} in L‐/D‐Ln2Ag28‐0D and L‐/D‐Ln2Ag28‐2D exhibited similar configurations, linked by varying numbers of [Ln(H2O)x]3+ (x=6 for 0D, x=3 for 2D) to form the final target compounds. Temperature‐dependent emission spectra and decay lifetimes measurement demonstrated the presence of TADF in L‐Ln2Ag28‐0D (Ln=Eu/Gd) and L‐Gd2Ag28‐2D. Experimentally, the remarkable TADF properties primarily originated from {Ag14S12} moieties in these compounds. Notably, {Ag14S12} in L‐Eu2Ag28‐0D and L‐Gd2Ag28‐2D displayed higher promote fluorescence rate and shorter TADF decay times than L‐Gd2Ag28‐0D. Combined with theoretical calculations, it was determined that the TADF behaviors of {Ag14S12} cluster units were induced by 4 f perturbation of Ln3+ ions. Specially, while maintaining ΔE(S1–T1) small enough, it can significantly increase k(S1→S0) and reduce TADF decay time by adjusting the type or number of Ln3+ ions, thus achieving the purpose of improving TADF for cluster‐based luminescent materials. The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of a compound Chinese herbal medicine on the reproductive performance of sows and the growth performance of piglets. A total of 60 sows in their 2nd to 3rd parity were randomly divided into four groups, with three replicates per group and five sows per replicate. The sows were fed experimental diets supplemented with 0, 0.1%, 0.2%, and 0.4% of the compound Chinese herbal medicine. The preliminary trial period was seven days, and the formal experimental period lasted from 14 days before farrowing to 21 days after farrowing. The results showed that compared with the control group, the sows in the Chinese herbal medicine group 2 and Chinese herbal medicine group 3 had increased weaning backfat thickness (P<0.05), reduced backfat loss, and decreased estrus interval (P<0.05). The constipation rate and farrowing duration were reduced in all groups of sows fed with Chinese herbal medicine (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the healthy litter number of sows in Chinese herbal medicine group 2 and Chinese herbal medicine group 3 was increased (P<0.05), the stillbirth number of sows was decreased (P<0.05), and the weak litter number of sows in all Chinese herbal medicine groups was decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the litter weight at birth of piglets in Chinese herbal medicine group 2 and Chinese herbal medicine group 3 was increased (P<0.05), the weaning weight, average daily gain and survival rate of piglets were increased (P<0.05), and the diarrhea rate and incidence of piglets in all Chinese herbal medicine groups were decreased (P<0.05). The results show that dietary supplementation of Chinese herbal preparations can reduce the constipation rate of sows, shorten the estrus interval, improve the litter performance of sows, improve the growth performance of piglets, reduce the morbidity of piglets and increase the survival rate of piglets. This research studied the factors accounting for Chinese citizens' behavioral adoption of mobile government services via social media platforms. Social media innovations have empowered governments to better interact and stay in touch with citizens, and thus understanding citizens' adoption of government services via social media will enable policymakers to leverage social media to better meet the service requirements of citizens. Drawing upon the Chinese mobile-government context, this research framework was made on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) while the analysis of data was completed with Smart PLS by the use of the SEM procedure. The analysis has surprisingly discovered that perceived usefulness (PU) does not predict the adoption of mobile government services through social media. However, perceived information quality was significant in determining both the PU and adoption behavior. It was also shown that factors such as perceived security, perceived mobility, trendiness, and interactivity were all significant determinants of both the perceived usefulness and adoption intention respectively. Introduction:In order to reveal the composition of the subsurface hydrothermal bacterial community in the zones of magmatic tectonics and their response to heat storage environments.Methods:In this study, we performed hydrochemical analysis and regional sequencing of the 16S rRNA microbial V4-V5 region in 7 Pleistocene and Lower Neogene hot water samples from the Gonghe basin.Results:Two geothermal hot spring reservoirs in the study area were found to be alkaline reducing environments with a mean temperature of 24.83°C and 69.28°C, respectively, and the major type of hydrochemistry was SO4-Cl·Na. The composition and structure of microorganisms in both types of geologic thermal storage were primarily controlled by temperature, reducing environment intensity, and hydrogeochemical processes. Only 195 ASVs were shared across different temperature environments, and the dominant bacterial genera in recent samples from temperate hot springs were Thermus and Hydrogenobacter, with both genera being typical of thermophiles. The correlation analysis showed that the overall level of relative abundance of the subsurface hot spring relied on a high temperature and a slightly alkaline reducing environment. Nearly all of the top 4 species in the abundance level (53.99% of total abundance) were positively correlated with temperature and pH, whereas they were negatively correlated with ORP (oxidation–reduction potential), nitrate, and bromine ions.Discussion:In general, the composition of bacteria in the groundwater in the study area was sensitive to the response of the thermal storage environment and also showed a relationship with geochemical processes, such as gypsum dissolution, mineral oxidation, etc.

ObjectiveTo further get insights of clinical characteristics of acute organophosphate poisoning-induced shock, investigate the relationship between shock and prognosis, and screen risk indicators for prognosis.MethodsA total of 73 patients with acute organophosphate poisoning admitted to our hospital between January 2014 and December 2021 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Patients were divided into the shock group and the non-shock group. The pH value of blood, arterial blood carbon dioxide partial pressure (PaCO2), arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2), base excess (BE), lactic acid (Lac), serum albumin (ALB), total bilirubin (TBIL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), serum creatinine (Cr), serum potassium (K), serum calcium (Ca), serum sodium (Na), blood chloride (Cl), serum troponin I (cTNI), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), white blood cell count (WBC), hemoglobin (HGB), platelet count (PLT), and other clinical indicators of patients were recorded. Incidence of shock, time of shock onset, and outcomes of patients were also recorded. Cox proportional hazards regression models were performed for analysis.ResultsThe incidence of organophosphate poisoning-induced shock was 30.1% (22/73), and 72.7% of shock patients developed shock blood pressure within 6 h. The levels of blood lactate, ALT, Cr, cTNI, BNP, and Cl in the shock group were significantly higher than those in the non-shock group, while the level of Ca and pH value was significantly lower than that in the non-shock group (all p < 0.05). Moreover, compared with patients without shock (2.0%), the mortality rate was significantly increased in patients with shock (36.4%), which was supported by the results from adjusted Cox proportional hazards regression model. We found that shock and elevated serum creatinine were associated with increased risk of death in patients with organophosphate poisoning (shock: HR, 10.9; 95% CI 1.2–96.3; elevated serum creatinine: HR, 1.0, 95% CI 1.0–1.0).ConclusionThis study indicated the association between elevated serum creatinine and increased mortality rates in patients with organophosphate poisoning, highlighting the importance of the comprehensive management of shock, especially the control of renal function, in these poisoning patients.

Abstract Corin, a transmembrane serine protease that can cleave pro‐atrial natriuretic peptide (Pro‐ANP) into smaller bioactive molecule atrial natriuretic peptide, has been shown to be involved in the pathophysiology of hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy. We sought to examine the associations of corin genetic variations with salt sensitivity, blood pressure (BP) changes and hypertension incidence. We studied participants of the original Baoji Salt‐Sensitive cohort, recruited from 124 families from seven Chinese villages in 2004 who sequentially received a usual baseline salt diet, a 7‐day low salt diet (3 g/day) and a 7‐day high salt diet (18 g/day), respectively. They were followed up for 8 years (in 2009, 2012) to evaluate the development of hypertension. Corin SNP rs3749584 was significantly associated with diastolic BP (DBP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) response to low‐salt diet, while rs4695253, rs17654278 were associated with pulse pressure (PP) response to low‐salt diet. SNPs rs4695253, rs12509275, rs2351783, rs2271036, rs2271037 were significantly associated with systolic BP (SBP), DBP, and MAP responses to high‐salt diet. In addition, SNPs rs12641823, rs6834933, rs2271036, and rs22710367 were significantly associated with the longitudinal changes in SBP, DBP, MAP, or PP over 8 years of follow‐up. SNP rs73814824 was significantly associated with the incidence of hypertension over 8 years. Gene‐based analysis showed that corin gene was significantly associated with longitudinal BP changes and hypertension incidence after 8‐year follow‐up. This study suggests that corin may play a role in salt sensitivity, BP progression, and development of hypertension.

Abstract Background Steroid drugs are essential for disease prevention and clinical treatment. However, due to intricated steroid structure, traditional chemical methods are rarely implemented into the whole synthetic process for generating steroid intermediates. Novel steroid drug precursors and their ideal bacterial strains for industrial production have yet to be developed. Among these, 9,21-dihydroxy-20-methyl-pregna-4-en-3-one (9-OH-4-HP) is a novel steroid drug precursor, suitable for the synthesis of corticosteroids. In this study, a combined strategy of blocking Δ1-dehydrogenation and the C19 pathway as well as improving the intracellular environment was investigated to construct an effective 9-OH-4-HP-producing strain. Results The Δ1-dehydrogenation-deficient strain of wild-type Mycobacterium neoaurum DSM 44074 produces 9-OH-4-HP with a molar yield of 4.8%. Hsd4A, encoding a β-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase, and fadA5, encoding an acyl-CoA thiolase, were separately knocked out to block the C19 pathway in the Δ1-dehydrogenation-deficient strain. The two engineered strains were able to accumulate 0.59 g L−1 and 0.47 g L−1 9-OH-4-HP from 1 g L−1 phytosterols, respectively. Furthermore, hsd4A and fadA5 were knocked out simultaneously in the Δ1-dehydrogenation-deficient strain. The 9-OH-4-HP production from the Hsd4A and FadA5 deficient strain was 11.9% higher than that of the Hsd4A deficient strain and 40.4% higher than that of the strain with FadA5 deficiency strain, respectively. The purity of 9-OH-4-HP obtained from the Hsd4A and FadA5 deficient strain has reached 94.9%. Subsequently, the catalase katE from Mycobacterium neoaurum and an NADH oxidase, nox, from Bacillus subtilis were overexpressed to improve the intracellular environment, leading to a higher 9-OH-4-HP production. Ultimately, 9-OH-4-HP production reached 3.58 g L−1 from 5 g L−1 phytosterols, and the purity of 9-OH-4-HP improved to 97%. The final 9-OH-4-HP production strain showed the best molar yield of 85.5%, compared with the previous reported strain with 30% molar yield of 9-OH-4-HP. Conclusion KstD, Hsd4A, and FadA5 are key enzymes for phytosterol side-chain degradation in the C19 pathway. Double deletion of hsd4A and fadA5 contributes to the blockage of the C19 pathway. Improving the intracellular environment of Mycobacterium neoaurum during phytosterol bioconversion could accelerate the conversion process and enhance the productivity of target sterol derivatives.

This study evaluated the effects of poly-γ-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) diets on the growth, antioxidant capacity, and nutrient absorption of gibel carp. Six groups (Control, PGA-25, PGA-50, PGA-100, PGA-200 and PGA −400) were supplemented with different γ-PGA addition (0, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 mg/kg), respectively, and were fed for 8 weeks. The results showed that the final weight (FW), weight gain (WG) were quadratically and cubically increased (P 0.05), whereas the crude fat was cubically affected by graded dietary γ-PGA levels (P = 0.049). The serum albumin (ALB) content was cubically increased, whereas the aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activities, triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) were decreased with increasing dietary γ-PGA levels. The alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), however, were not affected by the γ-PGA trail.
