The fact that ımams are regarded as innocent in Shī'a has added a religious value to their words and practices. Thus, the narrations claimed to be from the imams constituted an important part of the 'adīth collection of the sect. The Shī'a scholars attribute the contradiction between the narrations to the taqıyyah made by the imams to protect themselves and their followers. Accordingly, it is claimed that the imams refrained from speaking the main view of the sect in order not to be identified in the society and gave fatwas in agreement with the opinion of 'āmmah, which is present in the society. As a natural result of this situation, it brings the practice of resolving the contradiction seen in the narrations by presenting it to 'āmmah. In conclusion, the Shī'a scholars mention this rule as the criterion of preference in case of contradiction of the narrations, based on the narrations that the one which is approved to 'âmmah should be abandoned in the context of dismissal, that the narration that does not comply with 'āmmah is the true view of the sect and the truth is in the one against 'āmmah. This practice, which exists in theory, its application in practice and its role in eliminating the contradiction between narrations is a matter of discussion. Accordingly, the article will examine the foundations of this application and examine its practical equivalence by examining the taqıyyah-contradiction relationship. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
