Delay discounting refers to the reduction in the value of an outcome as a consequence of the delay to its receipt. The rate at which a future event is discounted depends on several factors, but there is little evidence regarding the effects of consequences concurrent with an intertemporal choice. In this study, participants were exposed to a delay discounting task in which an immediate gain (upfront gains) or an immediate loss (upfront losses) was bundled with an intertemporal choice. In two experiments, we explored how the sign (gain or loss) and magnitude (relative and absolute) of the upfront affect discounting rate. Results of Experiment 1 suggest that only the introduction of a significant negative upfront reduced discounting in the small reward condition. In Experiment 2, increasing both the relative and absolute magnitude of the upfront reduced discounting. We discuss these results in terms of factors that modulate the effect of availability and absence of additional resources on discounting.

We have previously shown that in rats, capsaicin (Cap) has antidepressant-like properties when assessed using the forced swimming test (FST) and that a sub-threshold dose of amitriptyline potentiates the effects of Cap. However, synergistic antidepressant-like effects of the joint administration of Cap and the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor citalopram (Cit) have not been reported. To assess whether combined administration of Cap and Cit has synergistic effects in the FST and to determine whether this combination prevents the side effects of Cit. Cap, Cit, and the co-administration of both substances were evaluated in a modified version of the FST (30-cm water depth) conducted in rats, as well as in the open field test (OFT), elevated plus maze (EPM), and Morris water maze (MWM). In line with previous studies, independent administration of Cap and Cit displayed antidepressant-like properties in the FST, while the combined injection had synergistic effects. In the OFT, neither treatment caused significant increments in locomotion. In the EPM, the time spent in the closed arms was lower in groups administered either only Cap or a combination of Cap and Cit than in groups treated with Cit alone. In the MWM, both Cap and the joint treatment (Cap and Cit) improved the working memory of rats in comparison with animals treated only with Cit. Combined administration of Cap and Cit produces a synergistic antidepressant-like effect in the FST and reduces the detrimental effects of Cit on anxiety and working memory.

A new analytic model of fractal imbibition in porous media is derived. The topological Hausdorff dimension is used as a fractal parameter inthe proposed model. The fractal formulation is based on the model introduced by Li and Zhao to predict the production rate by spontaneousimbibition. Cantor Tartans and Menger sponge fractals are used to simulate fractal porous media with different ramifications. Results ofillustrative examples are presented in the form of a set of curves, which reveal the features of enhanced oil recovery of the model underconsideration. The results are compared with the experimental behaviour found on core samples of previous publications.

Flavobacterium psychrophilum is the causative agent of bacterial cold-water disease and rainbow trout syndrome in freshwater salmonid fish worldwide, generating injuries and high mortality rates. Despite several studies on this bacterium, the infection mechanism remains unknown due to limitations in the employed animal models. In this work, we propose using zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a model for studying bacterial pathogenicity. To substantiate this proposal, zebrafish infection by F. psychrophilum strain JIP 02/86 was characterized. Zebrafish larvae were infected using the bath method, and morphological changes and innate immune system activation were monitored using transgenic fish. Salmonid-like infection phenotypes were observed in 4.74% of treated larvae, as manifested by fin, muscle and caudal peduncle damage. Symptomatic and dead larvae accounted for 1.35% of all challenged larvae. Interestingly, infected larvae with no infection phenotypes showed stronger innate immune system activation than specimens with phenotypes. A failure of function assay for myeloid factor pu.1 resulted in more infected larvae (up to 43.5%), suggesting that low infection rates by F. psychrophilum would be due to the protective actions of the innate immune system against this bacterium in zebrafish larvae. Our results support the use of zebrafish as an infection model for studying F. psychrophilum. Furthermore, the percentage of infected fish can be modulated by disturbing, to varying extents, the differentiation of myeloid cells. Using this evidence as a starting point, different aspects of the infection mechanism of F. psychrophilum could be studied in vivo.

For spatial linear regression, the traditional approach to capture spatial dependence is to use a parametric linear mixed-effects model. Spline surfaces can be used as an alternative to capture spatial variability, giving rise to a semiparametric method that does not require the specification of a parametric covariance structure. The spline component in such a semiparametric method, however, impacts the estimation of the regression coefficients. In this paper, we investigate such an impact in spatial linear regression with spline-based spatial effects. Statistical properties of the regression coefficient estimators are established under the model assumptions of the traditional spatial linear regression. Further, we examine the empirical properties of the regression coefficient estimators under spatial confounding via a simulation study. A data example in precision agriculture research regarding soybean yield in relation to field conditions is presented for illustration.

Ferroelectric materials have technological applications in information storage and electronic devices. The ferroelectric polar phase can be controlled with external fields, chemical substitution and size-effects in bulk and ultrathin film form, providing a platform for future technologies and for exploratory research. In this work, we integrate spin-polarized density functional theory (DFT) calculations, crystal structure databases, symmetry tools, workflow software, and a custom analysis toolkit to build a library of known, previously-proposed, and newly-proposed ferroelectric materials. With our automated workflow, we screen over 67,000 candidate materials from the Materials Project database to generate a dataset of 255 ferroelectric candidates, and propose 126 new ferroelectric materials. We benchmark our results against experimental data and previous first-principles results. The data provided includes atomic structures, output files, and DFT values of band gaps, energies, and the spontaneous polarization for each ferroelectric candidate. A more stable deposit was obtained with both membranes at current densities greater than 100 A m−2 and maximum efficiency of 63% at −200 Am−2 (with a purity of 92%), but the consumption of sulphate ions is different in each.

In this work, we study the effects of geometric confinement on random walks and diffusion processes in systems of reduced dimensionality. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations of Gaussian random walks were performed on rectangular strips of infinite length. A special emphasis is made on the crossover from two- to one-dimensional diffusion in the Fickian regime. We found that the crossover behavior is controlled by the ratio of the strip width to the standard deviation of the walker step length distribution. Specifically, the characteristic time of crossover behavior scales quadratically with this ratio. Furthermore, the time dependence of the number of effective spatial degrees of freedom of the random walker on the strip is found to obey an ansatz characterized by the universal power-law exponent. This allows us to formulate the diffusion equation with the time dependent number of effective spatial degrees of freedom in the quasi-one-dimensional system.

Piscine orthoreovirus (PRV) is a virus in the genus Orthoreovirus of the Reoviridae family, first described in 2010 associated with Heart and Skeletal Muscle Inflammation (HSMI) in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). Three phases of PRV infection have been described, the early entry and dissemination, the acute dissemination phase, and the persistence phase. Depending on the PRV genotype and the host, infection can last for life. Mechanisms of immune response to PRV infection have been just beginning to be studied and the knowledge in this matter is here revised. PRV induces a classical antiviral immune response in experimental infection of salmonid erythrocytes, including transcriptional upregulation ofifn-α,rig-i,mx, andpkr. In addition, transcript upregulation oftcra, tcrb, cd2, il-2, cd4-1, ifn-γ, il-12, and il-18has been observed in Atlantic salmon infected with PRV, indicating that PRV elicited a Th1 type response probably as a host defense strategy. The high expression levels ofcd8a,cd8b, andgranzyme-Ain PRV-infected fish suggest a positive modulatory effect on the CTL-mediated immune response. This is consistent with PRV-dependent upregulation of the genes involved in antigen presentation, including MHC class I, transporters, and proteasome components. We also review the potential immune mechanisms associated with the persistence phenotype of PRV-infected fish and its consequence for the development of a secondary infection. In this scenario, the application of a vaccination strategy is an urgent and challenging task due to the emergence of this viral infection that threatens salmon farming.

Vaccine administration is one of the most efficient ways to control the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. However, the appearance of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants can avoid the immunity generated by vaccines. Thus, in patients with a complete vaccine schedule, the infection by SARS-CoV-2 may cause severe, mild, and asymptomatic manifestations of the disease. In this case report, we describe for the first time the clinical symptoms of four patients (three symptomatic; one asymptomatic) from Santiago of Chile, with a complete vaccination schedule with two doses of CoronaVac (Sinovac Life Science) infected with the variant of interest (VOI) B.1.621 (Mu). They were compared with four unvaccinated patients, who had a higher prevalence of symptoms after infection compared to vaccinated patients. In the CoronaVac-vaccinated group, an 80-year-old patient who registered various comorbidities required Invasive mechanical ventilation for 28 days with current home medical recovery discharge. By contrast, in the unvaccinated group, a 71-year-old presented more symptoms with more than 45 days of Invasive mechanical ventilation, which continues to date, presenting greater lung damage than the vaccinated hospitalized patient. This first report evidence differences in the clinical symptomatology of patients vaccinated and non-vaccinated infected with the VOI B.1.621 (Mu) and suggest the protective effects of CoronaVac against this variant.

Information regarding severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections in premature infants remains limited. Early in the pandemic, several studies reported that the risk of infection in infants was relatively small and that affected infants had a milder disease than what was seen in adults. Since the increase of the delta variant (SARS-CoV-2 B.1.617.2) within the population, there have been increased reports of more severe disease in infants. We present 3 cases of premature, very low birth weight infants with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection who presented with significant hyperglycemia and bone marrow dysfunction. Two infants had presumed vertical transmission, and 1 infant was infected by respiratory transmission. Despite the mode of transmission, symptom onset and duration were similar in all infants. All resolved with symptomatic management. In the context of the continuing pandemic, evaluation for SARS-CoV-2 infection should be considered in premature very low birth weight infants who demonstrate certain patterns of acute metabolic and hematologic abnormalities.

Currently, it is widely accepted that memory extinction involves the formation of a new associative memory rather than unlearning of the information previously acquired. Nonetheless, the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying this process are still unclear. In this regard, it has been suggested that while kinases modulate conditioning and LTP, phosphatases are relevant for extinction and LTD. In particular, the protein phosphatase calcineurin (CaN) has been involved in the extinction of some behavioral tasks along with LTD. Indeed, studies of our research group have demonstrated that induction of LTD in the basolateral nucleus of the amygdala (Bla) to the insular cortex (IC) pathway facilitates the extinction of conditioned taste aversion (CTA), while the induction of LTP in this pathway slows it down. In addition, we have shown that the extinction of CTA elicits an increase of CaN. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the participation of calcineurin in the extinction of CTA and in the expression of in vivo LTD in the Bla-IC pathway. For this purpose, we chemically inhibited calcineurin in the IC of adult male Wistar rats, either during CTA-extinction or thirty minutes after LTD induction in the Bla-IC pathway. Our results show that calcineurin inhibition slows down the CTA-extinction and blocks the maintenance of LTD. Furthermore, we show that CaN levels increase after LTD induction. These findings support the idea that calcineurin is a key molecular actor for both CTA extinction and LTD expression in the IC, a highly relevant neocortical area for the processing of aversively motivated learning tasks, suggesting that both processes are associated at a molecular level.

Background The frequency of asymptomatic severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections is unclear and may be influenced by how symptoms are evaluated. In this study, we sought to determine the frequency of asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infections in a prospective cohort of health care workers (HCWs). Methods A prospective cohort of HCWs, confirmed negative for SARS-CoV-2 exposure upon enrollment, were evaluated for SARS-CoV-2 infection by monthly analysis of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies as well as referral for polymerase chain reaction testing whenever they exhibited symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Participants completed the standardized and validated FLU-PRO Plus symptom questionnaire scoring viral respiratory disease symptom intensity and frequency at least twice monthly during baseline periods of health and each day they had any symptoms that were different from their baseline. Results Two hundred sixty-three participants were enrolled between August 25 and December 31, 2020. Through February 28, 2021, 12 participants were diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Symptom analysis demonstrated that all 12 had at least mild symptoms of COVID-19, compared with baseline health, near or at time of infection. Conclusions These results suggest that asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection in unvaccinated, immunocompetent adults is less common than previously reported. While infectious inoculum doses and patient factors may have played a role in the clinical manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infections in this cohort, we suspect that the high rate of symptomatic disease was due primarily to participant attentiveness to symptoms and collection of symptoms in a standardized, prospective fashion. These results have implications for studies that estimate SARS-CoV-2 infection prevalence and for public health measures to control the spread of this virus.

Ruddlesden–Popper halide perovskites are highly versatile quasi-two-dimensional energy materials with a wide range of tunable optoelectronic properties. Here we use the all-inorganic Cs n + 1 Pb n X 3 n + 1 Ruddlesden–Popper perovskites with X = I, Br, and Cl to systematically model the effect of octahedral tilting distortions on the energy landscape, band gaps, macroscopic polarization, and the emergence of Rashba-/Dresselhaus splitting in these materials. We construct all unique n = 1 and n = 2 structures following from octahedral tilts and use first-principles density functional theory to calculate total energies, polarizations and band structures, backed up by band gap calculations using the GW approach. Our results provide design rules for tailoring structural distortions and band-structure properties in all-inorganic Ruddlesden–Popper perovskites through the interplay of the amplitude, direction, and chemical character of the antiferrodistortive distortion modes contributing to each octahedral tilt pattern. Our work emphasizes that, in contrast to three-dimensional perovskites, polar structures may arise from a combination of octahedral tilts, and Rashba-/Dresselhaus splitting in this class of materials is determined by the direction and Pb-I orbital contribution of the polar distortion mode.

CoronaVac vaccine from Sinovac Life Science is currently being used in several countries. In Chile, the effectiveness of preventing hospitalization is higher than 80% with a vaccination schedule. However, to date, there are no data about immune response induction or specific memory. For this reason, we recruited 15 volunteers without previous suspected/diagnosed COVID-19 and with negative PCR over time to evaluate the immune response to CoronaVac 28 and 90 days after the second immunization (dpi). The CoronaVac administration induces total and neutralizing anti-spike antibodies in all vaccinated volunteers at 28 and 90 dpi. Furthermore, using ELISpot analysis to assay cellular immune responses against SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, we found an increase in IFN-gamma- and Granzyme B-producing cells in vaccinated volunteers at 28 and 90 dpi. Together, our results indicate that CoronaVac induces a robust humoral immune response and cellular immune memory of at least 90 dpi.

International audience; The identification and tracking of SARS-CoV-2 infected patients in the general population are essential components of the global strategy to limit the COVID-19 viral spread, specifically for maintaining traceability and suppressing the resurgence of local outbreaks. Public health programs that include continuous RT-qPCR testing for COVID-19 in the general population, viral sequencing, and genomic surveillance for highly contagious forms of the virus have allowed for the identification of SARS-CoV-2 infections and reinfections. This work identified SARS-CoV-2 reinfection in a homeless person, which occurred 58 days after the first COVID-19 diagnosis. Genomic sequencing identified a different Nextstrain classification clade (20A and 20B) and PANGO lineage, with a divergence of 4 single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in S and ORF1ab genes, suggesting reinfection by different viral variants. This study is the first from the great metropolitan area of Santiago, Chile, one of the top ten countries in the world to live during the COVID-19 pandemic. We support the importance of performing intensive genomic surveillance programs in the whole population and high-risk groups, such as homeless people, nearly 20 thousand people in Chile, and have limited access to health care services and poor viral traceability.

Vibrio vulnificus is a marine zoonotic pathogen associated with fish farms that is considered a biomarker of climate change. Zoonotic strains trigger a rapid death of their susceptible hosts (fish or humans) by septicemia that has been linked to a cytokine storm in mice. Therefore, we hypothesize that V. vulnificus also causes fish death by triggering a cytokine storm in which red blood cells (RBCs), as nucleated cells in fish, could play an active role. To do it, we used the eel immersion infection model and then analyzed the transcriptome in RBCs, white BCs, and whole blood using an eel-specific microarray platform. Our results demonstrate that V. vulnificus triggers an acute but atypical inflammatory response that occurs in two main phases. The early phase (3 h post-infection [hpi]) is characterized by the upregulation of several genes for proinflammatory cytokines related to the mucosal immune response (il17a/f1 and il20) along with genes for antiviral cytokines (il12β) and antiviral factors (ifna and ifnc). In contrast, the late phase (12 hpi) is based on the upregulation of genes for typical inflammatory cytokines (il1β), endothelial destruction (mmp9 and hyal2), and, interestingly, genes related to an RNA-based immune response (sidt1). Functional assays revealed significant proteolytic and hemolytic activity in serum at 12 hpi that would explain the hemorrhages characteristic of this septicemia in fish. As expected, we found evidence that RBCs are transcriptionally active and contribute to this atypical immune response, especially in the short term. Based on a selected set of marker genes, we propose here an in vivo RT-qPCR assay that allows detection of early sepsis caused by V. vulnificus. Finally, we develop a model of sepsis that could serve as a basis for understanding sepsis caused by V. vulnificus not only in fish but also in humans.

Each structure consists of two semi-infinite photonic crystals separated by an interface or by several layers. A general condition for light localization between semi-infinite crystals is given by parallelism between two-dimensional vectors in the electromagnetic (H, E) space. The case of a defective photonic crystal is recovered by joining crystals having the same unit cell. The defect modes display leftward and rightward damped oscillations with the same ratio, even when the unit cell lacks inversion symmetry. Their frequencies are found in good agreement with peaks of the transmittance through truncated structures. In heterostructures including metamaterials, an anomalous exponential decay of the magnetic field is found near one edge of the zero-〈n〉 gap. Sodium voltage-gated channel α subunit 5 (SCN5A)-mutations may cause an array of arrhythmogenic syndromes most frequently as an autosomal dominant trait, with incomplete penetrance, variable expressivity and male predominance. In the present study, we retrospectively describe a group of Mexican patients with SCN5A-disease causing variants in whom the onset of symptoms occurred in the pediatric age range. The study included 17 patients with clinical diagnosis of primary electrical disease, at least one SCN5A pathogenic or likely pathogenic mutation and age of onset SCN5A mutation carriers were affected (overall penetrance 53.3%), and penetrance was higher in males (63.3%, 19 affected/30 mutation carriers) than in females (33.3%, 5 affected/15 carriers). In conclusion, pediatric patients with SCNA-disease causing variants presented mainly as overlap syndrome, with predominant loss-of-function phenotypes of sick sinus syndrome (SSS), progressive cardiac conduction disease (PCCD) and ventricular arrhythmias.

OBJECTIVE: Emotion regulation is a transdiagnostic mechanism with relevance to the etiology, maintenance, and treatment of a wide range of clinically relevant outcomes. The current study applied systematic review methods to summarize the existing literature examining racial and ethnic differences in emotion regulation. METHODS: We systematically searched four electronic databases (PsycINFO, Embase, MEDLINE, CINAHL Plus) using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. RESULTS: Of the initial 1,253 articles, 25 met the inclusion criteria. Findings for emotion regulation strategies generally provide evidence for racial/ethnic differences (71% of reviewed studies), with ethnoracial minorities largely exhibiting greater use of emotion regulation strategies. Whereas the results for emotion regulation potential were slightly more mixed (63% of reviewed studies found racial/ethnic differences), ethnoracial minorities were also largely found to report lower emotion regulation potential. CONCLUSION: This review advances literature by providing additional support for racial and ethnic differences in emotion regulation.

Hispanic women in the United States experience disproportionate mental health impacts of intimate partner violence (IPV). Following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses extension for scoping reviews guidelines, we synthesized the existing knowledge based on IPV and mental health outcomes among Hispanic women in the United States. In May 2020, we searched five electronic databases (i.e., MEDLINE, PILOTS, PSYCInfo, PSYCArticles, and EMBASE). From the initial 1,180 results, 13 articles met inclusion criteria for this review (written in English, empirical study, focus on the experiences of victimization from an intimate partner, focus on mental health outcomes occurring in the person experiencing IPV, included women who identify as Hispanic, and included participants residing in the United States), representing 4,060 women. Findings highlighted significant positive associations between IPV ( n = 13; 4,060 women) and general mental health outcomes ( n = 4; 759 women) as well as the specific outcomes of depression ( n = 12; 2,661 women), anxiety ( n = 1; 274 women), post-traumatic stress disorder ( n = 3; 515 women), and substance misuse ( n = 2; 1,673 women) among Hispanic women in the United States. Limitations included heterogeneity across Hispanic populations and methodological differences between studies. Key avenues for future research were identified, including the need to examine mental health outcomes understudied in relation to IPV among Hispanic women (e.g., personality, obsessive-compulsive, and eating disorders) and to identify cultural and demographic factors (e.g., nativity status, level of acculturation) that may influence relations between IPV and mental health outcomes among Hispanic women. Such research can inform prevention and intervention efforts aimed at improving mental health among Hispanic women in the Untied States experiencing IPV.

As COVID-19 cases begin to decrease in the USA, learning from the pandemic experience will provide insights regarding disparities of care delivery. We sought to determine if specific populations hospitalized with COVID-19 are equally likely to be enrolled in clinical trials. We examined patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at centers participating in the American Heart Association's COVID-19 CVD Registry. The primary outcome was odds of enrollment in a clinical trial, according to sex, race, and ethnicity. Among 14,397 adults hospitalized with COVID-19, 9.5% (n = 1,377) were enrolled in a clinical trial. The proportion of enrolled patients was the lowest for Black patients (8%); in multivariable analysis, female and Black patients were less likely to be enrolled in a clinical trial related to COVID-19 compared to men and other racial groups, respectively. Determination of specific reasons for the disparities in trial participation related to COVID-19 in these populations should be further investigated.

Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 decay but persist six months post-vaccination, with lower levels of neutralizing titers against Delta than wild-type. Only 2 of 227 vaccinated healthcare workers experienced outpatient symptomatic breakthrough infections despite 59 of 227 exhibiting serological evidence of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 as defined by development of anti-nucleocapsid protein antibodies.

Background/Introduction Since patients with coronary ectasia have an increased risk of developing myocardial infarction and cardiovascular death, these patients could benefit from a more intensive treatment. Unfortunately, the evidence regarding outcomes with different management strategies is limited, especially with direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC). Purpose To compare clinical outcomes in patients with coronary ectasia based on the selected/chosen treatment strategy. Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study in patients diagnosed with coronary artery ectasia. They were divided into 3 different groups based on the treatment they received at discharge and we evaluated the main cardiovascular outcomes at one-year follow-up. Results Between 2016 and 2019, 7,579 angiographies were performed, in which 510 patients with coronary ectasia were found (prevalence of 6.72%). Of these patients, 43.9% (n=224) had the diagnosis of STEMI, 21% NSTEMI (n=107), 5.1% unstable angina (n=26), 18.6% chronic stable angina (n=95) and other 11.4% (n=58). The angiographic distribution of the lesions was as follows: left main coronary artery 25.1%, Left descending coronary artery 62.7%, circumflex artery 52.1%, right coronary artery 79.2%. It was possible to obtain the follow-up of 363 patients (71.2%) because 25 died during their hospitalization and data of 122 were not available at the time of analysis. Three groups were formed based on the treatment: (1) Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (DAPT) in 47% (n=174); (2) DAPT + Vitamin K Antagonist (VKA) in 8.5% (n=31); (3) DAPT + DOAC in 6.6% (n=24). The overall MACE rate at 1-year of follow-up was 6.6% (n=15): 11 patients in the DAPT group (6.3%), 1 patient in the DAPT + VKA group (3.2%), and 3 patients in the DAPT + DOAC group (12.5%). During this period, 3 patients died from cardiovascular causes, all of them in the DAPT group. Myocardial infarction occurred in 12 patients, 8 in the DAPT group (4.2%), 1 in the DAPT + VKA group (3.2%) and 3 in the DAPT + DOAC group (12.5%). Stroke occurred in 2 patients: 1 patient in the DAPT group (0.5%) and 1 patient in the DAPT + DOAC group, 4.1% None of these findings were statistically significant. One-year occurrence of bleeding events was also evaluated: 23 patients presented a bleeding event, 14 in the DAPT group (8%), 7 in the DAPT + VKA group (22.5%) and 2 in the DAPT + DOAC group (8.3%); p=0.010. Conclusion(s) Our findings suggest that there is no statistically significant difference in the incidence of thrombotic complications, when comparing the treatment options. Patients using the combination of DAPT+VKA have a higher incidence of bleeding. Funding Acknowledgement Type of funding sources: None.

This document elaborates a discussion about benefits of the new technologies in the street lighting systems, these technologies are image processing, IoT (Internet of Things) and also renewable energies. Furthermore, an investigation related to different articles that made an approaching to this subject, was done. Also, a proposal is done in order to the street lighting system benefit, considering some aspects of these technologies, this proposal was developed by the authors and applied in a study case road in another investigation.
