In the early time of oilfield development, insufficient production data and unclear understanding of oil production presented a challenge to reservoir engineers in devising effective development plans. To address this challenge, this study proposes a method using data mining technology to search for similar oil fields and predict well productivity. A query system of 135 analogy parameters is established based on geological and reservoir engineering research, and the weight values of these parameters are calculated using a data algorithm to establish an analogy system. The fuzzy matter-element algorithm is then used to calculate the similarity between oil fields, with fields having similarity greater than 70% identified as similar oil fields. Using similar oil fields as sample data, 8 important factors affecting well productivity are identified using the Pearson coefficient and mean decrease impurity (MDI) method. To establish productivity prediction models, linear regression (LR), random forest regression (RF), support vector regression (SVR), backpropagation (BP), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) algorithms are used. Their performance is evaluated using the coefficient of determination (R²), explained variance score (EV), mean squared error (MSE), and mean absolute error (MAE) metrics. The LightGBM model is selected to predict the productivity of 30 wells in the PL field with an average error of only 6.31%, which significantly improves the accuracy of the productivity prediction and meets the application requirements in the field. Finally, a software platform integrating data query, oil field analogy, productivity prediction, and knowledge base is established to identify patterns in massive reservoir development data and provide valuable technical references for new reservoir development. Large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated promising in-context learning capabilities, especially with instructive prompts. However, recent studies have shown that existing large models still face challenges in specific information extraction (IE) tasks. Moreover, it could have more effectively utilized various prompts such as instruction tuning, diverse demonstrations of in-context learning, and long-range token sequences for assisting language modeling in understanding context. In this study, we propose DILUIE, a unified information extraction framework based on in-context learning with diverse demonstration examples. DILUIE is encoded with an EVA attention mechanism and incremental encoding technology. Based on the constructed diverse demonstrations, we expand the size of instances efficiently in both instruction tuning and in-context learning to gain insights into the potential benefits of utilizing diverse information extraction datasets. To deepen the understanding of context, we further design three auxiliary tasks to assist in aligning contextual semantics. Experimental results demonstrate that DILUIE achieves 2.23 and 2.53% improvements in terms of Micor-/Macor-F1 on average relative to the current state-of-the-art baseline, which also significantly outperforms the GPT-3.5-turbo in zero-shot settings, and the average token length of achieving the best performance over tasks is around 15k. Furthermore, we observe that in-context learning shows enhanced performance when provided with more demonstrations during multiple-shot instruction tuning (8 k). Additionally, increasing the length of instructions (10 k) can result in a more substantial improvement in the upper limits of scaling for in-context learning. Student dropout is a major concern in studies investigating retention strategies in higher education. This study identifies which variables are important to predict student dropout, using academic data from 3583 first-year students on the Business Administration (BA) degree at the University of Barcelona (Spain). The results indicate that two variables, the percentage of subjects failed and not attended in the first semester, demonstrate significant predictive power. This has been corroborated with an additional sample of 10,784 students from three-degree programs (Law, BA, and Economics) at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), to assess the robustness of the results. Three different algorithms have also been utilized: neural networks, random forest, and logit. In the specific case of neural networks, the NeuralSens methodology has been employed, which is based on the use of sensitivities, allowing for its interpretation. The outcomes are highly consistent in all cases: both a simple model (logit) and more sophisticated ones (neural networks and random forest) exhibit high accuracy (correctly predicted values) and sensitivity (correctly predicted dropouts). In test set average values of 77% and 69% have been respectively achieved. In this regard, a noteworthy point is that only academic data from the university itself was used to develop the models. Capturing correlations between joints is crucial in skeleton-based action recognition tasks. Transformer has demonstrated its capability in capturing such correlations. However, conventional Transformer-based approaches model the relationships between joints in a unified spatio-temporal dimension, disregarding the unique semantic information that exists in both the spatial and temporal dimensions of skeleton sequences. To address this issue, we present a novel decoupled spatio-temporal grouping Transformer (DSTGFormer) model. The skeleton sequence is split into multiple spatio-temporal groups, each containing a set of consecutive frames. The spatio-temporal positional encoding (STPE) module assigns identity information to each element in the sequence. The spatio-temporal grouping self-attention (STGA) module captures the spatial and temporal relationships between different joints within a spatio-temporal group. This decoupling of the spatial and temporal dimensions enables the extraction of semantic information with different meanings in each dimension. Additionally, we propose a within-group spatial global regularization mechanism to learn more general spatial attention maps, and an inter-group feature aggregation (IGFA) module to enhance the differentiation between similar actions. Addressing ecological impacts with effective conservation actions requires information on the links between human pressures and localized responses. Understanding links is a priority for many conservation contexts, including the world's fresh waters, which face intensifying threats to disproportionately high species diversity, including more than half of the world's fish species. Literature synthesis can uncover links and highlight potential research gaps, yet can be very cumbersome and time consuming. Emerging tools like text mining can improve efficiency in extracting relevant information from vast scientific outputs. This study synthesizes evidence of direct anthropogenic threats to major inland fisheries and examines driver‐impact‐response patterns using coupled automated and manual text classification methods. We screened 9336 abstracts from 45 river basins of high importance to inland fish production; 1152 abstracts contained evidence of direct threats to fish. The most common documented drivers were pollution, dams, and fishing pressure, which were most strongly linked to decreased fitness, altered reproduction, and mortality, respectively. Strong impact‐response links to pollution signal potential bias toward documenting acute threats that generate more visible and immediate impacts. The use of machine learning‐based text classification performed best in classifying extraneous information. Results can inform the development of inland fisheries indicators and threat‐based metrics, highlight possible evidence gaps in linking global drivers to fishery‐level responses, and illustrate the application of a coupled synthesis approach for improved efficiency and extraction of information relevant to conservation outcomes. Out of all the racial groups in the United States, people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) have disproportionately worse health as a result of living in poverty. The preponderance of research connects poor health with a socioeconomic perspective, which might create prejudice against AI/AN. As already known, AI/AN's high rates of obesity, diabetes, and stroke in comparison with that of other ethnic groups are mainly derived from their impoverished economic conditions that have forced them to consume the food distributed by the U.S. government. When minority health is discussed generally, the ethnic density perspective explains a minority population's positive health despite low socioeconomic status. This perspective helps researchers and practitioners understand the connections of psychological and social factors with physical health and demonstrates positive health effects on minority groups. Despite the high correlation between ethnic density and health having been validated, little to no research has explored AI/AN's health from this perspective. Using 13,064 electronic health records, this research tests the relationship between AI/AN density and health outcomes. This article introduces an innovative analytical strategy (i.e. a data mining technique), which is ideal for discovering frequently appearing health outcomes in a group. In the continuously changing labor market, understanding the dynamics of online job postings is crucial for economic and workforce development. With the increasing reliance on Online Job Portals, analyzing online job postings has become an essential tool for capturing real-time labor-market trends. This paper presents a comprehensive methodology for processing online job postings to generate labor-market intelligence. The proposed methodology encompasses data source selection, data extraction, cleansing, normalization, and deduplication procedures. The final step involves information extraction based on employer industry, occupation, workplace, skills, and required experience. We address the key challenges that emerge at each step and discuss how they can be resolved. Our methodology is applied to two use cases: the first focuses on the analysis of the Greek labor market in the tourism industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, revealing shifts in job demands, skill requirements, and employment types. In the second use case, a data-driven ontology is employed to extract skills from job postings using machine learning. The findings highlight that the proposed methodology, utilizing NLP and machine-learning techniques instead of LLMs, can be applied to different labor market-analysis use cases and offer valuable insights for businesses, job seekers, and policymakers. Background: Investigating emotion sequence patterns in the posts of discussion forums in massive open online courses (MOOCs) holds a vital role in shaping online interactions and impacting learning achievement. While the majority of research focuses on the relationship between emotions and interactions in MOOC forum discussions, research on identifying the crucial difference in emotion sequence patterns among different interaction groups remains in its infancy. Objectives: This research utilizes deep learning and sequential pattern mining to investigate whether there are differences in emotion sequence patterns across different groups of learners who exhibit various types of interactions in online discussion forums. Methods: Data from a comprehensive array of sources, including log files, discussion texts and scores from 498 learners in online discussion forums, were collected for this study. The agglomerative hierarchical algorithm is used to classify learners into groups with different levels of interactions. Additionally, we implement and evaluate multiple deep learning models for detecting different emotions from online discussions. Relevant emotion sequence patterns were identified using sequence pattern analysis and the identified emotion sequence patterns were compared across different groups with different levels of interactions. Results and Conclusions: Using an agglomerative hierarchical algorithm, we classified learners into three distinct groups characterized by different levels of interactions: high, average and low level. Leveraging the bi‐directional long short‐term memory model for emotion detection yielded the highest predictive performance, with an impressive F‐measure of 94.01%, a recall rate of 93.83% and an accuracy score of 95.01%. The results also revealed that learners in the low‐level interaction group experienced more emotion transition from boredom to frustration than the other two groups. Therefore, the aggregation of students into groups and the utilization of their MOOC log data offer educators the capability to provide adaptive emotional feedback, customize assessments and offer more personalized attention as needed. Geospatial interpolation plays a pivotal role in spatial analysis because it provides high-quality data support for various spatiotemporal data mining (STDM) tasks. However, statistical methods, such as kriging, face challenges in dealing with complex geo-big data. Additionally, deep-learning-based methods, despite their exceptional performance, suffer from limitations, such as poor interpretability. To harness the complementary advantages of these statistical methods and deep learning approaches, this study proposes a novel geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) framework called deep kriging neural network (DKNN). The primary contribution lies in the development of an asymmetric encoder-decoder structure, which includes a deep-learning-based spatial encoder and a geostatistics-based kriging decoder. The spatial encoder consists of three specialized neural networks, whereas the kriging decoder relies on the proposed unified kriging system. During forward propagation, the kriging decoder leverage messages from the spatial encoder to generate interpolation weights for prediction. Conversely, during backward propagation, the kriging decoder guides the spatial encoder in learning interpretable knowledge. Experiments were conducted using both synthetic and practical datasets. The results demonstrate an average improvement of 20.18% in MAE, 25.04% in RMSE and 24.06% in MAPE when compared to the best-performing baseline method. Efficient use of energy and other resources, as the basic postulates of the circular economy, is a prerequisite for the green transition to more sustainable cities in the future. The main scientific goal of the paper is the development of a new approach to city governance when it comes to the inefficient use of energy, predominantly fossil fuels, mainly in developing and poor countries. Energy efficiency problems faced by these countries require the introduction of urgent, applicable, and realistically achievable solutions. A prerequisite for adequate analysis and modeling of energy efficiency performance, measures, policies, outcomes, and impacts is the introduction and functioning of the big data management system, which should begin with data mining. On the other hand, adequate data collection has been neglected in many of these countries. The study shows a way to reduce this gap, but in accordance with realistic and limited possibilities for countries with less favorable conditions. In that respect, a conceptual model for the Analytical Service for facilitating energy efficiency in city governance was developed and presented as a driver that can enable cities to manage energy more efficiently. The model is based on an interdisciplinary approach and on the needs of cities in the Republic of Serbia. As one of the most popular sources of information in the world, Wikipedia is edited by a large, global community of contributors. User-generated nature of this online encyclopedia ensures that the information reflects a wide range of topics. Hovewer, Wikipedia articles are created and edited independently in each language version. Therefore, some topics may be presented with varying degrees of completeness depending on their importance in a particular language community. In this paper, we quantified the concept of Americanization on a global scale through comparative analysis of the coverage of American topics in different language versions of Wikipedia. For this purpose, we analyzed over 90 million Wikidata items and 40 million Wikipedia articles in 58 languages. We discussed whether Americanization is more or less dominant in different languages, regions, and cultures. We showed that the interest in American topics is not universal. Western, developed countries are more Americanized (more interested in topics related to America) than the rest of the world. This is the first global, quantitative confirmation of issues often hypothesized, or assumed, in the literature on Americanization and related phenomena. This study shows that Wikipedia and Wikidata can allow quantification of social science concepts that previously were considered not realistically measurable. Objective To analyze the experience of Professor Chen Huanchao, a famous TCM doctor in Hubei Province, in treating breast cancer by data mining technology. Methods The medical records of Professor Chen Huanchao’s treatment of breast cancer were collected, and the first prescription of each patient was recorded after screening and sorting. MS Excel 2019 was used to analyze drug frequency, efficacy frequency, and the meridian distribution, and SPSS Modeler 18.0 software was adopted for association rule analysis and network display of drugs. SPSS 27.0 was employed for clustering analysis of high-frequency drugs to summarize medication patterns. Results A total of 185 prescriptions involving 180 traditional Chinese medicines were included, and 29 high-frequency drugs were screened. The medicinal properties were mainly neutral, cold, and warm, and the medicinal flavors were mainly sweet, bitter, and pungent. The meridians were liver, lung, spleen, and kidney meridians. The medicinal effects primarily included tonifying deficiency, clearing heat, and promoting diuresis and dampness. The association rule analysis showed 20 groups of drug pairs, and the cluster analysis mainly revealed two categories. Conclusion Professor Chen Huanchao believes that breast cancer involves root deficiency and excessive symptoms and should be treated from the perspective of “deficiency, blood stasis, phlegm, and toxin.” Genuine-Qi should be strengthened, and Evil-Qi should be eliminated. The symptoms and root causes of this disease should be treated simultaneously while soothing the liver and qi, tonifying the spleen and kidney, promoting blood circulation, removing phlegm and preventing its accumulation, and clearing heat and detoxify. Accurate precipitation nowcasting is crucial for daily life, but the current forecasting models need further improvement in terms of accuracy. This paper proposed an innovative forecasting model called BTPN to address this issue. The model introduced bidirectional Transformer to extract features from both the forward and backward directions of spatiotemporal sequences, capturing key information and reducing spatiotemporal feature loss. It combined the convolutional Transformer block with the local encoding of convolution and the global encoding of Transformer to enhance spatiotemporal information extraction and correlation, alleviating the problem of long-term spatiotemporal information loss. The model also incorporated a detail extraction module to reduce the loss of local details and mitigate the issue of dissipation in high-value areas. Evaluation on the HKO-7 dataset shows that the BTPN model surpasses other advanced models in terms of MAE, SSIM, and CSI metrics, demonstrating excellent predictive capability in large-scale precipitation and extreme weather scenarios. Addressing the challenges of capturing the correlation between information extraction tasks and the contextual information in doctor-patient dialogues during electronic medical record construction, this paper proposed a Transformer-based collaborative information extraction method called CT-JIE(collaborative Transformer for joint information extraction). Firstly, this method utilized a sliding window combined with Bi-LSTM to acquire historical information from the dialogues and employed a label-aware module to capture task-related information in the dialogue context. Secondly, the global attention module enhanced the model s ability to perceive the context of symptom entities and their status. Finally, the interactive guidance module explicitly modeled the interaction among intent recognition, slot filling, and status recognition tasks to capture the complex contexts and relationships among multiple tasks. With the widespread application of ship Automatic Identification System (AIS) in maritime operations, a large number of ship trajectories become available. This study aims to improve the safety of ships navigating through densely trafficked areas and address the challenge of sufficient data exploration while fully describing the traffic conditions in these waters. To achieve this objective, traffic flow information is extracted from AIS data collected in Zhoushan waters. A combination of multi-algorithms is employed to extract the traffic flow frame, specifically, the Douglas-Peucker compression algorithm and trajectory intersection algorithm are utilised to identify the characteristic points of ship trajectories. Subsequently, a density clustering algorithm is applied to extract the three types of characteristic points: compressed trajectory points, intersection points, and ship position points, facilitating data mining efforts. The resulting initial traffic flow characteristic points are then subject to weighted fusion, followed by image superposition processing to create an overlapping map of the ship trajectories. This process culminates in the generation of a traffic flow frame for the region. The framework integrates various track characteristic points, offering insights into the distribution of essential routes in the vicinity waters, thereby providing a comprehensive depiction of ship traffic flow patterns. To optimize the utilization and analysis of tables, it is essential to recognize and understand their semantics comprehensively. This requirement is especially critical given that many tables lack explicit annotations, necessitating the identification of column types and inter-column relationships. Such identification can significantly augment data quality, streamline data integration, and support data analysis and mining. Current table annotation models often address each subtask independently, which may result in the neglect of constraints and contextual information, causing relational ambiguities and inference errors. To address this issue, we propose a unified multi-task learning framework capable of concurrently handling multiple tasks within a single model, including column named entity recognition, column type identification, and inter-column relationship detection. By integrating these tasks, the framework exploits their interrelations, facilitating the exchange of shallow features and the sharing of representations. Their cooperation enables each task to leverage insights from the others, thereby improving the performance of individual subtasks and enhancing the model's overall generalization capabilities. Notably, our model is designed to employ only the internal information of tabular data, avoiding reliance on external context or knowledge graphs. This design ensures robust performance even with limited input information. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superior performance of our model across various tasks, validating the effectiveness of unified multi-task learning framework in the recognition and comprehension of table semantics. Latent Out is a recently introduced algorithm for unsupervised anomaly detection which enhances latent space-based neural methods, namely (Variational) Autoencoders, GANomaly and ANOGan architectures. The main idea behind it is to exploit both the latent space and the baseline score of these architectures in order to provide a refined anomaly score performing density estimation in the augmented latent-space/baseline-score feature space. In this paper we investigate the performance of Latent Out acting as a one-class classifier and we experiment the combination of Latent Out with GAAL architectures, a novel type of Generative Adversarial Networks for unsupervised anomaly detection. Moreover, we show that the feature space induced by Latent Out has the characteristic to enhance the separation between normal and anomalous data. The study analyzed the individual performance of partition cluster algorithms and selected Kmeans, Kmeans9+, Kmedoid, and Fuzzy Cmeans algorithms as base algorithms for the ensemble. The cluster performance is assessed using UCI data sets as well as other common public data sets. The quality of cluster results depends on the base cluster algorithm used. The efficiency of base algorithms is added based on the ensemble models. We developed two ensemble models: a simple hard voting ensemble and a soft boosting ensemble based on the bagging and boosting ensemble technique. Ensemble of different cluster algorithms can generate the most accurate clusters. Both models show better cluster results than their base cluster algorithms for the small and big data sets. When using most data sets, the Soft Boosting Ensemble model achieves 100% cluster accuracy. The cluster evaluating functions are the benchmark for assessing the quality of the cluster. All the cluster evaluating indices show better performance for developed ensemble models. Internal cluster-evaluating indices as well as external cluster-evaluating indices are used to compare the cluster quality of the individual cluster algorithm and generated ensemble cluster models. Today, fast-paced technology plays an important role in financial transactions, especially in payment-related digital habits. As fraud is a major concern in online payments, many machine-learning approaches have been proposed to detect and prevent fraudulent payment transactions. This study aimed to evaluate Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbor, and Random Forest in detecting fraudulent payment transactions. The results show that Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Tree, and Logistic regression achieved total accuracy rates exceeding 99%. However, such impressive results do not necessarily indicate satisfactory performance. The software industry is evolving at a rapid pace, making it necessary to optimize efforts and accelerate the software development process. Software can be reused to achieve quality and productivity goals. Reusability is a crucial measure that can be used to increase the overall level of software quality in less time and effort. To better understand the necessity of enhancing the software reusability of ObjectOriented (O-O) systems, this study employed a semi-automated approach to measure the values of classlevel software metrics on an input dataset collected from the MAVEN repository. This paper explored several previous studies, data strategies, and tools to predict reusability in O-O software systems. This study compares various data mining techniques to identify the most suitable approach for enhancing the reusability of O-O software systems. The machinability of steel is a crucial factor in manufacturing, influencing tool life, cutting forces, surface finish, and production costs. Traditional machinability assessments are labor-intensive and costly. This study presents a novel methodology to rapidly determine steel machinability using spark testing and convolutional neural networks (CNNs). We evaluated 45 steel samples, including various low-alloy and high-alloy steels, with most samples being calcium steels known for their superior machinability. Grinding experiments were conducted using a CNC machine with a ceramic grinding wheel under controlled conditions to ensure a constant cutting force. Spark images captured during grinding were analyzed using CNN models with the ResNet18 architecture to predict V15 values, which were measured using the standard ISO 3685 test. Our results demonstrate that the created prediction models achieved a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 12.88%. While some samples exhibited high MAPE values, the method overall provided accurate machinability predictions. Compared to the standard ISO test, which takes several hours to complete, our method is significantly faster, taking only a few minutes. A large number of association rules often minimizes the reliability of data mining results; hence, a dimensionality reduction technique is crucial for data analysis. When analyzing massive datasets, existing models take more time to scan the entire database because they discover unnecessary items and transactions that are not necessary for data analysis. For this purpose, the Fuzzy Rough Set-based Horse Herd Optimization (FRS-HHO) algorithm is proposed to be integrated with the Map Reduce algorithm to minimize query retrieval time and improve performance. The HHO algorithm minimizes the number of unnecessary items and transactions with minimal support value from the dataset to maximize fitness based on multiple objectives such as support, confidence, interestingness, and lift to evaluate the quality of association rules. The feature value of each item in the population is obtained by a Map Reduce-based fitness function to generate optimal frequent itemsets with minimum time. The Horse Herd Optimization (HHO) is employed to solve the high-dimensional optimization problems. The proposed FRS-HHO approach takes less time to execute for dimensions and has a space complexity of 38% for a total of 10 k transactions. Also, the FRS-HHO approach offers a speedup rate of 17% and a 12% decrease in input–output communication cost when compared to other approaches. Many time series data mining algorithms work by reasoning about the relationships the conserved shapes of subsequences. To facilitate this, the Matrix Profile is a data structure that annotates a time series by recording each subsequence's Euclidean distance to its nearest neighbor. In recent years, the community has shown that using the Matrix Profile it is possible to discover many useful properties of a time series, including repeated behaviors (motifs), anomalies, evolving patterns, regimes, etc. However, the Matrix Profile is limited to representing the relationship between the subsequence's shapes. It is understood that, for some domains, useful information is conserved not in the subsequence's shapes, but in the subsequence's features. In recent years, a new set of features for time series called catch22 has revolutionized feature-based mining of time series. Combining these two ideas seems to offer many possibilities for novel data mining applications; however, there are two difficulties in attempting this. A direct application of the Matrix Profile with the catch22 features would be prohibitively slow. Less obviously, as we will demonstrate, in almost all domains, using all twenty-two of the catch22 features produces poor results, and we must somehow select the subset appropriate for the domain. With the rapid development of the Internet, there are a large number of high-dimensional multi-label data to be processed in real life. To save resources and time, semi-supervised multi-label feature selection, as a dimension reduction method, has been widely used in many machine learning and data mining. In this paper, we design a new semi-supervised multi-label feature selection algorithm. First, we construct an initial similarity matrix with supervised information by considering the similarity between labels, so as to learn a more ideal similarity matrix, which can better guide feature selection. By combining latent representation with semi-supervised information, a more ideal pseudo-label matrix is learned. Second, the local manifold structure of the original data space is preserved by the manifold regularization term based on the graph. Finally, an effective alternating iterative updating algorithm is applied to optimize the proposed model, and the experimental results on several datasets prove the effectiveness of the approach. Emergent news is characterized by few labels, and news detection methods that rely on a large number of labels are difficult to apply to learned features for emerging events and are ineffective in coping with less labeled emergent news detection. To address the challenge of limited labeled data, this study first establishes a scenario for detecting breaking news, ensuring that the domain of detecting events is distinct from the domain of historical events. Secondly, we propose the Clip-GCN multimodal fake news detection model. The model utilizes the Clip pre-training model to perform joint semantic feature extraction of image-text information, with text information as the supervisory signal, which solves the problem of semantic interaction between modalities. Meanwhile, considering the domain attributes of news, the model is trained to extract inter-domain invariant features through Adversarial Neural Network ideation, and intra-domain knowledge information is utilized through graph convolutional networks (GCN) to detect emergent news. Through an extensive number of experiments on Chinese and English datasets from two major social media platforms, Weibo and Twitter, it is demonstrated that the model proposed in this paper can accurately screen multimodal emergent news on social media with an average accuracy of 88.7%. The contribution of this study lies not only in the improvement of model performance but also in the proposal of a solution for the challenges posed by limited labels and multimodal breaking news. Convolutional neural network (CNN)-based object detectors perform excellently but lack global feature extraction and cannot establish global dependencies between object pixels. Although the Transformer is able to compensate for this, it does not incorporate the advantages of convolution, which results in insufficient information being obtained about the details of local features, as well as slow speed and large computational parameters. In addition, Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) lacks information interaction across layers, which can reduce the acquisition of feature context information. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a CNN-based anchor-free object detector that combines transformer global and local feature extraction (GLFT) to enhance the extraction of semantic information from images. First, the segmented channel extraction feature attention (SCEFA) module was designed to improve the extraction of local multiscale channel features from the model and enhance the discrimination of pixels in the object region. Second, the aggregated feature hybrid transformer (AFHTrans) module combined with convolution is designed to enhance the extraction of global and local feature information from the model and to establish the dependency of the pixels of distant objects. This approach compensates for the shortcomings of the FPN by means of multilayer information aggregation transmission. Compared with a transformer, these methods have obvious advantages. Finally, the feature extraction head (FE-Head) was designed to extract full-text information based on the features of different tasks. An accuracy of 47.0% and 82.76% was achieved on the COCO2017 and PASCAL VOC2007 + 2012 datasets, respectively, and the experimental results validate the effectiveness of our method. Nowadays, video is a common social media in our lives. Video summarisation has become an interesting task for information extraction, where the challenge of high redundancy of key scenes leads to difficulties in retrieving important messages. To address this challenge, this work presents a novel approach called the Graph Attention (GAT)-based bi-directional content-adaptive recurrent unit model for video summarisation. The model makes use of the graph attention approach to transform the visual features of interesting scene(s) from a video. This transformation is achieved by a mechanism called Adaptive Feature-based Transformation (AFT), which extracts the visual features and elevates them to a higher-level representation. We also introduce a new GAT-based attention model that extracts major features from weight features for information extraction, taking into account the tendency of humans to pay attention to transformations and moving objects. Additionally, we integrate the higher-level visual features obtained from the attention layer with the semantic features processed by Bi-CARU. By combining both visual and semantic information, the proposed work enhances the accuracy of key-scene determination. By addressing the issue of high redundancy among major information and using advanced techniques, our method provides a competitive and efficient way to summarise videos. In this paper, an innovative two-layer network model was established to analyze safety risk factors for hazardous chemical accidents(SRFHCA). Outlier detection stands as a critical cornerstone in the field of data mining, with a wide range of applications spanning from fraud detection to network security. However, real-world scenarios often lack labeled data for training, necessitating unsupervised outlier detection methods. This study centers on Unsupervised Outlier Model Selection (UOMS), with a specific focus on the family of Internal, Relative Evaluation of Outlier Solutions (IREOS) algorithms. IREOS measures outlier candidate separability by evaluating multiple maximum-margin classifiers and, while effective, it is constrained by its high computational demands. We investigate the impact of several different separation methods in UOMS in terms of ranking quality and runtime. Surprisingly, our findings indicate that different separability measures have minimal impact on IREOS' effectiveness. However, using linear separation methods within IREOS significantly reduces its computation time. These insights hold significance for real-world applications where efficient outlier detection is critical. Purpose: Project scheduling plays an essential role in the implementation of a project due to the limitation of resources in practical projects. However, the existing research tend to focus on finding suitable algorithms to solve various scheduling problems and fail to find the potential scheduling rules in these optimal or near-optimal solutions, that is, the possible intrinsic relationships between attributes related to the scheduling of activity sequences. Data mining (DM) is used to analyze and interpret data to obtain valuable information stored in large-scale data. The goal of this paper is to use DM to discover scheduling concepts and obtain a set of rules that approximate effective solutions to resource-constrained project scheduling problems. These rules do not require any search and simulation, which have extremely low time complexity and support real-time decision-making to improve planning/scheduling. Design/methodology/approach: The resource-constrained project scheduling problem can be described as scheduling a group of interrelated activities to optimize the project completion time and other objectives while satisfying the activity priority relationship and resource constraints. This paper proposes a new approach to solve the resource-constrained project scheduling problem by combining DM technology and the genetic algorithm (GA). More specifically, the GA is used to generate various optimal project scheduling schemes, after that C4.5 decision tree (DT) is adopted to obtain valuable knowledge from these schemes for further predicting and solving new scheduling problems. Findings: In this study, the authors use GA and DM technology to analyze and extract knowledge from a large number of scheduling schemes, and determine the scheduling rule set to minimize the completion time. In order to verify the application effect of the proposed DT classification model, the J30, J60 and J120 datasets in PSPLIB are used to test the validity of the scheduling rules. The results show that DT can readily duplicate the excellent performance of GA for scheduling problems of different scales. In addition, the DT prediction model developed in this study is applied to a high-rise residential project consisting of 117 activities. The results show that compared with the completion time obtained by GA, the DT model can realize rapid adjustment of project scheduling problem to deal with the dynamic environment interference. In a word, the data-based approach is feasible, practical and effective. It not only captures the knowledge contained in the known optimal scheduling schemes, but also helps to provide a flexible scheduling decision-making approach for project implementation. Originality/value: This paper proposes a novel knowledge-based project scheduling approach. In previous studies, intelligent optimization algorithm is often used to solve the project scheduling problem. However, although these intelligent optimization algorithms can generate a set of effective solutions for problem instances, they are unable to explain the process of decision-making, nor can they identify the characteristics of good scheduling decisions generated by the optimization process. Moreover, their calculation is slow and complex, which is not suitable for planning and scheduling complex projects. In this study, the set of effective solutions of problem instances is taken as the training dataset of DM algorithm, and the extracted scheduling rules can provide the prediction and solution of new scheduling problems. The proposed method focuses on identifying the key parameters of a specific dynamic scheduling environment, which can not only reproduces the scheduling performance of the original algorithm well, but also has the ability to make decisions quickly under the dynamic interference construction scenario. Evaluating behavioral patterns through logic mining within a given dataset has become a primary focus in current research. Unfortunately, there are several weaknesses in the research regarding the logic mining models, including an uncertainty of the attribute selected in the model, random distribution of negative literals in a logical structure, non-optimal computation of the best logic, and the generation of overfitting solutions. Motivated by these limitations, a novel logic mining model incorporating the mechanism to control the negative literal in the systematic Satisfiability, namely Weighted Systematic 2 Satisfiability in Discrete Hopfield Neural Network, is proposed as a logical structure to represent the behavior of the dataset. For the proposed logic mining models, we used ratio of r to control the distribution of the negative literals in the logical structures to prevent overfitting solutions and optimize synaptic weight values. A new computational approach of the best logic by considering both true and false classification values of the learning system was applied in this work to preserve the significant behavior of the dataset. Additionally, unsupervised learning techniques such as Topological Data Analysis were proposed to ensure the reliability of the selected attributes in the model. The comparative experiments of the logic mining models by utilizing 20 repository real-life datasets were conducted from repositories to assess their efficiency. Following the results, the proposed logic mining model dominated in all the metrics for the average rank. The average ranks for each metric were Accuracy (7.95), Sensitivity (7.55), Specificity (7.93), Negative Predictive Value (7.50), and Mathews Correlation Coefficient (7.85). Numerical results and in-depth analysis demonstrated that the proposed logic mining model consistently produced optimal induced logic that best represented the real-life dataset for all the performance metrics used in this study. Data mining has achieved great success in air traffic management as a technology for learning knowledge from historical data that benefits people. However, data mining can rarely be embedded into the trajectory optimization process since regular optimization algorithms cannot utilize the functional and implicit knowledge extracted from historical data in a general paradigm. To tackle this issue, this research proposes a novel data mining-based trajectory generation method that is compatible with existing optimization algorithms. Firstly, the proposed method generates trajectories by combining various maneuvers learned from operation data instead of reconstructing trajectories with generative models. In such a manner, data mining-based trajectory optimization can be achieved by solving a combinatorial optimization problem. Secondly, the proposed method introduces a majorization–minimization-based adversarial training paradigm to train the generation model with more general loss functions, including non-differentiable flight performance constraints. A case study on Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was conducted to validate the proposed method. The autonomous operation of turbojets requires reliable, accurate, and manageable dynamical models for several key processes. This article describes a practical robust method for obtaining turbojet thrust and shaft speed models from experimental data. The proposed methodology combines several data mining tools with the intention of handling typical difficulties present during experimental turbojet modeling, such as high noise levels and uncertainty in the plant dynamics. The resulting shaft speed and thrust models achieved a percentage error of 0.8561% and 3.3081%, respectively, for the whole operating range. The predictive power of the resulting models is also assessed in the frequency domain. The turbojet cut frequencies are experimentally determined and were found to match those predicted by the identified models. Finally, the proposed strategy is systematically tested with respect to popular aeroengine models, outperforming them both in the time and frequency domains. On-time graduation rates are crucial for universities, impacting institutional performance and student success. At Sebelas Maret University, only 32% of the 2019-2020 postgraduate cohort graduated on time, exemplifying a common higher education challenge. This study compares naïve bayes, (NB) K-nearest neighbor (KNN), and decision tree (DT) algorithms, chosen for their effectiveness in educational data mining (EDM). Forward selection (FwS) and backward elimination (BE) techniques were implemented to optimize feature selection (FS), balancing model complexity and predictive power. Previous studies have primarily focused on graduation prediction, but few have thoroughly compared FS methods. This study compares NB, KNN, and DT algorithms, implementing FwS and BE for feature optimization. Results show that FS improved model performance across all algorithms. KNN and DT algorithms showed a more favorable impact with FwS, while BE proved more effective for the NB algorithm. The KNN algorithm with FwS achieved the highest accuracy at 83.8%, a significant improvement from its baseline accuracy of 76.64%. These findings can guide the development of support systems to improve on-time graduation rates, potentially benefiting institutions facing similar challenges. Cluster analysis has been widely studied due to its importance and several methods have been developed for this purpose. However, these methods are designed to process on centralized data. In this paper, we present an asynchronous approach based on topological relationship. The proposed approach unfolds on three steps: First, each site searches for clusters (models) of its local data. Secondly, a central site proceeds to the analysis and search for the partition of the whole (the global model). Finally, we proceed with the search for the right number of groups of the global model. We note that each local data has their own number of clusters and it can be different from the number of clusters in the entire data. The abstract presents a new hybrid approach for automatically extracting spatial information from Arabic text documents in geographic information systems. The main objective is to automate and enhance the performance of GIS systems by making certain tasks explicit and improving the resources for Arabic Natural Language Processing (ANLP). The first step of the study involves the construction of a spatial ontology to index, annotate and extract spatial information from Arabic texts. In the subsequent step, JAPE rules are developed and employed to disambiguate and classify different types of spatial information. The evaluation of the proposed system demonstrates promising performance, with a precision rate of 93.8% and a recall rate of 95.2%. Overall, this hybrid approach presents a significant contribution to automating spatial information extraction from Arabic texts, enhancing GIS systems, and improving ANLP resources. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) treatments in East Asian traditional medicine (EATM) originate from principles for treating abscesses and carbuncles. Understanding the therapeutic principles of Liu Juan Zi Gui Yi Fang (GYF) is essential for optimizing EATM treatment strategies for IBD, but quantitative analysis is lacking. This study aims to extract quantitative information on therapeutic strategies from GYF and present the EATM conceptual framework for IBD treatment. Oral prescriptions for carbuncles were selected, and their constituent herbs and indications were standardized and tokenized for analysis. An EATM expert group classified prescriptions based on the similarity of herbs and indications. Hierarchical and k-means cluster analyses were performed based on herb similarity. The herb–indication (H-I) network for all prescriptions was constructed. Additionally, H-I subnetworks based on the expert group's classifications and the k-means clustering results were constructed and compared to identify treatment goals and the herbs used for each goal. The results showed that the treatment focused on abscess status, wound healing, and patient's recovery capacity, with 'fever' and 'deficiency' as the main indications addressed by tonifying and anti-inflammatory herbs. The therapeutic principles identified in this study can serve as a foundation for developing future herbal intervention units. The accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of mental health disorders such as depression remain challenging owing to the complex underlying causes and varied symptomatology. Traditional information extraction methods struggle to adapt to evolving diagnostic criteria such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth edition (DSM-5) and to contextualize rich patient data effectively. This study proposes a novel approach for enhancing information extraction from mental health data by integrating medical knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs). Our method leverages the structured organization of knowledge graphs specifically designed for the rich domain of mental health, combined with the powerful predictive capabilities and zero-shot learning abilities of LLMs. This research enhances the quality of knowledge graphs through entity linking and demonstrates superiority over traditional information extraction techniques, making a significant contribution to the field of mental health. It enables a more fine-grained analysis of the data and the development of new applications. Our approach redefines the manner in which mental health data are extracted and utilized. By integrating these insights with existing healthcare applications, the groundwork is laid for the development of real-time patient monitoring systems. The continuous development of Educational Data Mining (EDM) and Learning Analytics (LA) technologies has provided more effective technical support for accurate early warning and interventions for student academic performance. However, the existing body of research on EDM and LA needs more empirical studies that provide feedback interventions, and more attention should be paid to primary and secondary school students. This study proposed a data-driven precision teaching intervention mechanism combining EDM and LA technologies. The proposed mechanism aims to assist teachers in predicting students' academic performance and implementing corresponding interventions. This approach enables early warnings and reminders for students in crisis, and offers teaching assistance and support tailored to students at different levels. A quasi-experimental design was employed to examine the impact of the data-driven precision teaching intervention mechanism on secondary school students' learning outcomes. A total of 142 seventh-grade students participated in the intervention experiment, with an experimental group (50) receiving the data-driven precision teaching intervention, control group2 (48) receiving a group intervention stratified by teacher experience, and control group1 (44) receiving a traditional group intervention. Posttest data were collected after three rounds of intervention. Compared to the two control groups, students in the experimental group demonstrated superior academic achievement, intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, and meta-cognitive awareness. These findings indicate that the data-driven precision teaching intervention approach positively impacted students' academic development, and effectively promoted their personalized learning. A timely and comprehensive understanding of winter wheat maturity is crucial for deploying large-scale harvesters within a region, ensuring timely winter wheat harvesting, and maintaining grain quality. Winter wheat maturity prediction is limited by two key issues: accurate extraction of wheat planting areas and effective maturity prediction methods. The primary aim of this study is to propose a method for predicting winter wheat maturity. The method comprises three parts: (i) winter wheat planting area extraction via phenological characteristics across multiple growth stages; (ii) extraction of winter wheat maturity features via vegetation indices (VIs, such as NDVI, NDRE, NDII1, and NDII2) and box plot analysis; and (iii) winter wheat maturity data prediction via the selected VIs. The key findings of this work are as follows: (i) Combining multispectral remote sensing data from the winter wheat jointing-filling and maturity-harvest stages can provide high-precision extraction of winter wheat planting areas (OA = 95.67%, PA = 91.67%, UA = 99.64%, and Kappa = 0.9133). (ii) The proposed method can offer the highest accuracy in predicting maturity at the winter wheat flowering stage (R2 = 0.802, RMSE = 1.56 days), aiding in a timely and comprehensive understanding of winter wheat maturity and in deploying large-scale harvesters within the region. (iii) The study's validation was only conducted for winter wheat maturity prediction in the North China Plain wheat production area, and the accuracy of harvesting progress information extraction for other regions' wheat still requires further testing. The energy budget of households, linked to residential energy consumption (REC), serves as a critical indicator of quality of life and economy trends. Despite the lack of widely available accurate statistics at regional or smaller scales, they are of crucial interest for a better understanding of the features influencing REC and its impact on energy poverty, wellbeing, and the climate crisis. This research aims to present a new information model for predictive parameters and REC forecasting through an innovative use of available open data. Geoprocessing, data mining, and machine learning clustering algorithms were applied to open datasets of location, population, and residential building stock parameters highly correlated with their REC, on the ensemble of 785 municipalities of Andalusia, Spain. The model identified 65 clusters of towns sharing the same potential REC, with 73% of the population concentrated in 10 of these. The resulting data-driven bottom-up model of provincial REC had a mean absolute error of only 0.63%. Furthermore, it provided the territorial distribution, with local resolution, of the identified clusters of cities with similar characteristics. This methodology, with a flexible regional- to city-scale analysis, provides knowledge generation that offers numerous practical applications for energy policy planning. Bridges are fundamental facilities in the transportation system, and their operational performance is crucial for economic and social development. Many large bridges are now equipped with structural health monitoring (SHM) systems that collect various types of real-time data. However, our user study found that despite the accumulation of massive amounts of monitoring data, current analysis methods cannot efficiently process large-scale, high-dimensional data. To address this, we have developed BOPVis, a visualization system for bridge monitoring data. BOPVis allows users to intuitively locate sensors and extract corresponding data from a 3D digital model of a bridge. It also provides convenient and flexible interactions for examining trends over time and correlations across hundreds of monitoring channels. A real-world long-span suspension bridge in China is used as a case study to demonstrate the advantages of the BOPVis system for operational performance mining. Through BOPVis, the global temperature deformation behaviors of the bridge are explored and found to align with the physical mechanism documented in the SHM literature. This article examines the incorporation of the Shopping Assistance Automatic Suggestion (SAAS) model into Virtual Reality (VR) environments in order to improve the online shopping experience. The SAAS model employs sophisticated deep learning methods to offer customized product recommendations, which are conveyed by non-player characters (NPCs) via voice-based interactions. Our goal is to develop an interactive shopping experience that replicates real-life interactions by integrating AI-powered recommendations with immersive VR technology. We gather and standardize data from several open commerce databases, such as Amazon Product and Customer Reviews. The SAAS model, in conjunction with GPT-3, BERT, and T5, undergoes training and testing to evaluate its effectiveness across multiple criteria. The results demonstrate that the SAAS model surpasses other models in delivering contextually aware and pertinent recommendations. The integration process outlines the specific steps involved in capturing, processing, and transforming user interactions in virtual reality (VR) into vocal suggestions provided by non-player characters (NPCs). This strategy improves customization and utilizes the immersive features of virtual reality to effectively engage people. The results of our research establish a higher standard for e-commerce, with the goal of enhancing the user experience of online purchasing by making it more instinctive, engaging, and pleasurable. The fundamental idea behind few-shot learning is to employ sparse labeled data to effectively handle novel tasks, whereas most existing mainstream approaches mostly rely on prior experience gained from previous situations. Nonetheless, effective knowledge transfer is sometimes hampered by constraints on new samples and barriers between classes. To address these issues, this research presents a novel background-filtering feature-enhanced graph network (BFFE-GNN) that attempts to generate relationships between graphs in order to explicitly describe and transmit inter-class relationships. To specifically address the issue of inadequate information utilization brought on by sample background interference, which is frequent in classification tasks, we employ a novel background-filtering feature-enhanced graph network. Effective data information extraction from complicated datasets is challenging due to the original module's relatively simple network structure during the feature extraction stage and the interference of the image background. The background-filtering module was specifically introduced, which enhances spatial attention. This not only improves the quality of feature extraction but also effectively lessens the influence of picture background on classification results. In addition, we have improved the background-filtering-based feature gap calculation by implementing a feature-enhanced module. To demonstrate the adaptability of the BFFE-GNN model, we not only ran experiments on two publicly available datasets, MiniImagenet and TiredImagenet, but we also created our own Tool dataset. The method's exceptional performance and universal applicability in the field of few-shot picture classification are clearly demonstrated by the experimental findings, which indicate that it greatly outperforms the majority of existing similar methods. Alzheimer's Disease is among the major chronic neurodegenerative diseases that affects more than 50 million people worldwide. This disease irreversibly destroys memory, cognition, and the overall daily activities which occur mainly among the elderly. Few drugs are approved for Alzheimer's Disease management despite its high prevalence. To date, the available drugs in the market cannot reverse the damage of neurons caused by the disease leading to the exacerbation of symptoms and possibly death. Medicinal plants are considered a rich source of chemical constituents and have been contributing to modern drug discovery in many therapeutic areas including cancer, infectious, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative and Central Nervous System (CNS) diseases. Moreover, essential oils that are extracted from plant organs have been reported for a wide array of biological activities, and their roles as antioxidants, antiaging, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and enzyme inhibitory activities. This article highlights the promising potential of plants' essential oils in the discovery of novel therapeutic options for Alzheimer's Disease and halting its progression. In this article, 428 compounds were reported from the essential oils isolated from 21 plants. A comparative study is carried out by employing a variety of machine learning techniques, validation, and evaluation metrics, to predict essential oils' efficacy against Alzheimer's Disease progression. Extensive experiments on essential oil data suggest that a prediction accuracy of up to 82% can be achieved given the proper data preprocessing, feature selection, and model configuration steps. This study underscores the potential of integrating machine learning with natural product research to prioritize and expedite the identification of bioactive essential oils that could lead to effective therapeutic interventions for Alzheimer's Disease. Further exploration and optimization of machine learning techniques could provide a robust platform for drug discovery and development, facilitating faster and more efficient screening of potential treatments.
