Abstract: Using e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}D{sub s}*{sup -}D{sub s}{sup +} data collected near the peak D{sub s} production energy, E{sub cm}=4170 MeV, with the CLEO-c detector, we present the first observation of the decay D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}pn. We measure a branching fraction B(D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}pn)=(1.30{+-}0.36{sub -0.16}{sup +0.12})x10{sup -3}. This is the first observation of a charmed meson decaying into a baryon-antibaryon final state.

Abstract: Using a sample of tagged D(s)(+) decays collected near the D(s)(*+/-)D(s)(-/+) peak production energy in e(+)e(-) collisions with the CLEO-c detector, we study the leptonic decay D(s)(+)-->tau(+)nu(tau) via the decay channel tau(+)-->e(+)nu(e)nu(tau). We measure B(D(s)(+)-->tau(+)nu(tau))=(6.17+/-0.71+/-0.34)%, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. Combining this result with our measurements of D(s)(+)-->mu(+)nu(mu) and D(s)(+)-->tau(+)nu(tau) (via tau(+)-->pi(+)nu(tau)), we determine f(D(s))=(274+/-10+/-5) MeV.

Abstract: We present measurements of $D\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}\ensuremath{\pi}$ and $D\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{L}^{0}\ensuremath{\pi}$ branching fractions using $281\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$ data at the CLEO-$c$ experiment. We find that $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})$ is larger than $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{L}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})$, with an asymmetry of $R({D}^{0})=0.108\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.025\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.024$. For $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})$ and $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{L}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})$, we observe no measurable difference; the asymmetry is $R({D}^{+})=0.022\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.016\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.018$. The ${D}^{0}$ asymmetry is consistent with the value based on the U-spin prediction $A({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})/A({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{K}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})=\ensuremath{-}{tan }^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{C}$, where ${\ensuremath{\theta}}_{C}$ is the Cabibbo angle.

Abstract: Using a 281 pb-1 data sample collected at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we report the first observation of D+ --etae + nue. We also set upper limits for D+ --eta'e + nue and D + --varphie + nue that are about 2 orders of magnitude more restrictive than those obtained by previous experiments.

Abstract: The branching fractions of D_s meson decays serve to normalize many measurements of processes involving charm quarks. Using 298 /pb of e+ e- collisions recorded at a center of mass energy of 4.17 GeV, we determine absolute branching fractions for eight D_s decays with a double tag technique. In particular we determine the branching fraction B(D_s -> K- K+ pi+) = (5.50 +- 0.23 +- 0.16)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic respectively. Abstract: We report a measurement of {Lambda} polarization in the two-body decay {Lambda}{sub {ital c}}{sup +}{r arrow}{Lambda}{pi}{sup +}, in nonresonant {ital e}{sup +}{ital e}{sup {minus}} interactions from data taken with the CLEO detector. Using these data we have determined the parity-violating asymmetry decay parameter {alpha}{sub {Lambda}{ital c}} to be {minus}1.0{sub {minus}0.0}{sup +0.4}. We see no evidence for significant {Lambda}{sub {ital c}}{sup +} polarization.

Abstract: We report on a study of charged and neutral K ∗ production in tau decay. We obtain a branching ratio value BR (τ − → K ∗- ν τ X 0 ) = (1.43±0.11±0.13)% where X 0 designates possible unobserved neutral particles (charge conjugate modes are implicit). We observe the first signals for inclusive K ∗0 and K ∗0 production in τ − decay, and determine the inclusive branching ratios τ − →K ∗0 K − ν τ X 0 and τ − K ∗0 π − ν τ X 0 to be (0.32±0.08±0.12)% and (0.38±0.11±0.13)%, respectively. We have searched for the decay τ − → K 0 K − ν τ X 0 and set a limit of 8 × 10 −3 at 90% confidence level.

Abstract: Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR), we have determined the ratio {Gamma}({ital D}{sub {ital s}}{sup +}{r arrow}{phi}{ital l}{sup +}{nu})/{Gamma}({ital D}{sub {ital s}}{sup +} {r arrow}{phi}{pi}{sup +})=0.49{plus minus}0.10{sub {minus}0.14}{sup +0.10}. We use this measurement to derive {ital B}({ital D}{sub {ital s}}{sup +}{r arrow}{phi}{pi}{sup +}).

Abstract: Using the CLEO detector we have observed the Cabibbo-suppressed decays {ital D}{sup 0}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup 0}{ital {bar K}0}, {ital K}{sup +}{ital K}{sup {minus}}, and {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}}. We determine {ital B}({ital D}{sup 0}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup 0}{ital {bar K}0})= (0.13{sup +0.07}{sub {minus}0.05}{sup +0.02}{sub {minus}0.02})%. Our measurement {ital B}({ital D}{sup 0}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup +}{ital K}{sup {minus}})/{ital B}({ital D}{sup 0}{r arrow}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}})=2.35{plus minus}0.37{plus minus}0.28 represents asubstantial improvement over previous results. We find no evidence for the decay {ital D}{sup 0}{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0}, and place a 90%-confidence-level upper limit of {ital B}({ital D}{sup 0}{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0}){lt}0.46%.

Abstract: We report on the observation of ψ mesons from Υ(4S) decays which are too energetic to come from B mesons. These events provide the first evidence for non-BB¯ decays of the Υ(4S). The measured rate is B[Υ(4s)→ψX]=(0.22±0.06±0.04)% for ψ momentum above 2 GeV/c.

Abstract: We have studied the production of ${\mathit{D}}_{\mathit{s}}$ mesons in the decays of B mesons at the \ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S) resonance. We report on the first observation of exclusive B-meson decays B-g${\mathit{D}}_{\mathit{s}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$, B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}_{\mathit{s}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${\mathit{D}}^{+}$, and B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}_{\mathit{s}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${\mathit{D}}^{0}$. We also present a new measurement of the branching ratio and the momentum spectrum for the inclusive decay B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}_{\mathit{s}}$X.

Abstract: We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the {Upsilon}(1{ital S}) resonance. We have considered decays into final states of the form {Upsilon}{r arrow}{gamma}{ital n}({ital h}{sup +}{ital h}{sup {minus}}), with ({ital h}{sup +}{ital h}{sup {minus}}) denoting a charged-hadron pair (either {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}},{ital K}{sup +}{ital K}{sup {minus}}, or {ital p{bar p}}), and {ital n} denoting the number of such pairs in the event. We measure branching ratios for {ital n}=2, 3, and 4, and search for structure in the recoiling hadronic system. For the {ital n}=1 case, we present upper limits. No evidence is observed for two-body radiative decays of the {Upsilon}(1{ital S}) meson in any of the above channels.

We observe a D**0 state at mass 2461±3±1 MeV/c2 and width 20-12-10+9+9 MeV/c2 decaying to D+-. We also see an enhancement in the m(D*+-)-m(D*+) mass-difference spectrum and by examining D*+ decay-angle dependence, we see structure consistent with two states decaying to D*+-. We observe a lower-mass state, at mass (2428±3±2) MeV/c2 and width (23-6-4+8+10) MeV/c2, assuming that the higher-mass component is from the decay D**0(2461)D*+-. We present arguments for the spin-parity assignments of these states. We also report observation of candidate L=1 cs» state decaying to D*+Ks0. © 1990 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: A search for lepton flavor violating decays of the tau into either three charged leptons or one charged lepton and two charged hadrons was performed using 2.05 fb[sup [minus]1] of data collected by the CLEO-II experiment at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. The upper limits obtained for 22 decay branching fractions are several times more stringent than those set previously.

Abstract: We report the first evidence of charmless semileptonic decays of {ital B} mesons. In the momentum interval 2.4--2.6 GeV/{ital c} where the background from {ital b}{r arrow}{ital cl}{nu} is negligible, the average of the measured {ital b}{r arrow}{ital ue}{nu} and {ital b}{r arrow}{ital u}{mu}{nu} partial branching ratios is {Delta}{ital B}{sub {ital ub}}(2.4,2.6) =(1.8{plus minus}0.4{plus minus}0.3){times}10{sup {minus}4}. Inclusion of data from the interval 2.2--2.4 GeV/{ital c}, where the lepton yield is dominated by {ital b}{r arrow}{ital cl}{nu}, gives {Delta}{ital B}{sub {ital ub}}(2.2,2.6) =(3.3{plus minus}0.8{plus minus}0.8){times}10{sup {minus}4}. {vert bar}{ital V}{sub {ital ub}}/V{sub cb}{vert bar} depends on the theoretical model of {ital b}{r arrow}{ital ul}{nu} decay and is approximately 0.1.

Abstract: Using $281\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions recorded at the $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$ resonance with the CLEO-c detector at CESR (Cornell Electron Storage Ring), we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral $D$ mesons using a double tag technique. Among measurements for three ${D}^{0}$ and six ${D}^{+}$ modes, we obtain reference branching fractions $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})=(3.891\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.035\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.059\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.035)%$ and $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})=(9.14\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.10\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.16\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.07)%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is all systematic errors other than final-state radiation (FSR), and the third is the systematic uncertainty due to FSR. We include FSR in these branching fractions by allowing for additional unobserved photons in the final state. Using an independent determination of the integrated luminosity, we also extract the cross sections $\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{0})=(3.66\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.06)\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{nb}$ and $\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{+}{D}^{\ensuremath{-}})=(2.91\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05)\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{nb}$ at a center-of-mass energy, ${E}_{\mathrm{cm}}=3774\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$.

Abstract: By using 1.8x10{6} DDpairs, we have measured B(D{0}--pi{-}e{+}nu{e})=0.299(11)(9)%, B(D{+}--pi{0}e{+}nu{e})=0.373(22)(13)%, B(D{0}--K{-}e{+}nu{e})=3.56(3)(9)%, and B(D{+}--K{0}e{+}nu{e})=8.53(13)(23)% and have studied the q;{2} dependence of the form factors. By combining our results with recent lattice calculations, we obtain |V{cd}|=0.217(9)(4)(23) and |V{cs}|=1.015(10)(11)(106).

Abstract: We present measurements of D--KS0 pi and D--KL0 pi branching fractions using 281 pb(-1) of psi(3770) data at the CLEO-c experiment. We find that B(D0--KS0 pi 0) is larger than B(D0--KL0 pi 0), with an asymmetry of R(D0)=0.108+/-0.025+/-0.024. For B(D+--KS0 pi+) and B(D+--KL0 pi+), we observe no measurable difference; the asymmetry is R(D+)=0.022+/-0.016+/-0.018. The D0 asymmetry is consistent with the value based on the U-spin prediction A(D0--K0 pi 0)/A(D0--K0 pi 0)=-tan2 theta C, where theta C is the Cabibbo angle.

The values of R, the ratio of hadronic and muon pair production cross sections, are determined within 2% total root-mean-square uncertainty.

Abstract: We report on a search for the radiative decay of {upsilon}(1S) to the pseudoscalar mesons {eta} and {eta}{sup '} in (21.2{+-}0.2)x10{sup 6} {upsilon}(1S) decays collected with the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. The {eta} meson was reconstructed in the three modes {eta}{yields}{gamma}{gamma}, {eta}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}, or {eta}{yields}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0}. The {eta}{sup '} meson was reconstructed in the mode {eta}{sup '}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{eta} with {eta} decaying through any of the above three modes, and also {eta}{sup '}{yields}{gamma}{rho}{sup 0}, where {rho}{sup 0}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}. Five out of the seven submodes are found to have very low backgrounds. In four of them we find no signal candidates and in one [{upsilon}(1S){yields}{gamma}{eta}{sup '}, {eta}{sup '}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{eta}, {eta}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}] there are two good signal candidates, which is insufficient evidence to claim a signal. The other two submodes ({eta}{yields}{gamma}{gamma} and {eta}{sup '}{yields}{gamma}{rho}) are background limited, and show no excess of events in their signal regions. We combine the results from different channels and obtain upper limits at the 90% C.L. which are B({upsilon}(1S){yields}{gamma}{eta})

Abstract: We examine ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{s}^{\ensuremath{-}}{D}_{s}^{*+}$ and ${D}_{s}^{*\ensuremath{-}}{D}_{s}^{+}$ interactions at 4170 MeV using the CLEO-c detector in order to measure the decay constant ${f}_{{D}_{s}^{+}}$. We use the ${D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}$ channel, where the ${\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}$ designates either a ${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}$ or a ${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}$, when the ${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$. Analyzing both modes independently, we determine $\mathcal{B}({D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})=(0.594\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.066\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.031)%$, and $\mathcal{B}({D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})=(8.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.4)%$. We also analyze them simultaneously to find an effective value of ${\mathcal{B}}^{\mathrm{eff}}({D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})=(0.638\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.059\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.033)%$ and extract ${f}_{{D}_{s}^{+}}=274\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}13\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}7\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$. Combining with our previous determination of $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})$, we also find the ratio ${f}_{{D}_{s}^{+}}/{f}_{{D}^{+}}=1.23\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.11\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04$. We compare to current theoretical estimates. Finally, we find $\mathcal{B}({D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})l1.3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ at 90% confidence level.

Abstract: We present measurements of decay matrix elements for hadronic transitions of the form Υ(nS)→Υ(mS)ππ, where (n,m)=(3,1),(2,1),(3,2). We reconstruct charged and neutral pion modes with the final state Upsilon decaying to either μ^+μ^- or e^+e^-. Dalitz plot distributions for the 12 decay modes are fit individually as well as jointly assuming isospin symmetry, thereby measuring the matrix elements of the decay amplitude. We observe and account for the anomaly previously noted in the dipion invariant mass distribution for the Υ(3S)→Υ(1S)ππ transition and obtain good descriptions of the dynamics of the decay using the most general decay amplitude allowed by partial conservation of the axial-vector current considerations. The fits further indicate that the Υ(2S)→Υ(1S)ππ and Υ(3S)→Υ(2S)ππ transitions also show the presence of terms in the decay amplitude that were previously ignored, although at a relatively suppressed level.

Abstract: We measure the mass of the {eta} meson using {psi}(2S){yields}{eta}J/{psi} events acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. Using the four decay modes {eta}{yields}{gamma}{gamma}, 3{pi}{sup 0}, {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}, and {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{gamma}, we find M{sub {eta}}=547.785{+-}0.017{+-}0.057 MeV, in which the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This result has an uncertainty comparable to the two most precise previous measurements and is consistent with that of NA48, but is inconsistent at the level of 6.5{sigma} with the much smaller mass obtained by GEM.

Abstract: We have studied semileptonic B decay to the exclusive charmless states π, ρ/ω, η and η' using the full 15.5 fb -1 CLEO Υ(4S) sample, with measurements performed in subregions of phase space to minimize dependence on a priori knowledge of the form factors involved. We find total branching fractions B(B 0 → π - l + ν) = (1.37 ± 0.15 stat ± 0.11 sys ) × 10 -4 and B(B 0 → ρ - l + ν) = (2.93 ± 0.37 stat ± 0.37 sys ) X 10 -4 . We find evidence for B + → η'l + ν, with B(B + → η'l + ν) = (2.66 ± ±0.80 stat ± 0.56 sys ) × 10 -4 and 1.20 × 10 -4 < B(B + → η'l + ν) < 4.46 × 10 -4 (90% CL). We also limit B(B + → ηl + ν) < 1.01 × 10 -4 (90% CL). By combining our B → πlν information with unquenched lattice calculations, we find |V ub | = (3.6 ± 0.4 stat ± 0.2 sys +0.6 0.4thy ) × 10 -3 .

Abstract: Using e + e - → hadrons data collected with the CLEO-III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we study the inclusive production of baryons/antibaryons (p, A) and mesons (Φ and f 2 (1270)) in gluon-fragmentation and quark-fragmentation processes. We first corroborate previous per-event total particle yields in Υ(1S) → ggg compared with nearby continuum (e + e - → qq) indicating greater (∼ X2) per-event yields of baryons in 3-gluon fragmentation. We find similar results when we extend that comparison to include the Y(2S) and Y(3S) resonances. With higher statistics, we now also probe the momentum dependence of these per-event particle yields. Next, we compare particle production in the photon-tagged process Υ(1S) → ggγ with that in e + e - → qqy events, to allow comparison of two-parton with three-parton particle-specific fragmentation. For each particle, we determine the "enhancement" ratio, defined as the ratio of particle yields per gluon-fragmentation event compared to quark-fragmentation event. Thus defined, an enhancement of 1.0 implies equal per-event production in gluon and quark fragmentation. In the photon-tagged analysis (Y(1S) → ggγ compared to e + e - → qqy), we find almost no enhancement for protons ( ∼ 1.2 ± 0.1), but a significant enhancement ( ∼ 1.9 ± 0.3) for A's. This small measured proton enhancement rate is supported by a study of baryon production in Χ b2 → gg → p + X relative to Χ b1 → qqg → p + X. Overall, per-event baryon production in radiative two-gluon fragmentation is somewhat smaller than that observed in three-gluon decays of the Υ(1S). Our results for baryon production are inconsistent with the predictions of the JETSET (7.3) fragmentation model.

Abstract: We measure the mass of the eta meson using psi(2S) --etaJ/psi events acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e(+)e(-) collider. Using the four decay modes eta --gamma gamma, 3pi(0), pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), and pi(+)pi(-)gamma, we find M(eta) = 547.785 +/- 0.017 +/- 0.057 MeV, in which the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This result has an uncertainty comparable to the two most precise previous measurements and is consistent with that of NA48, but is inconsistent at the level of 6.5 sigma with the much smaller mass obtained by GEM.

Abstract: The decay psi(2S) --> eta J/psi is used to measure, for the first time, all prominent eta-meson branching fractions with the same experiment in the same dataset, thereby providing a consistent treatment of systematics across branching fractions. We present results for eta decays to gamma gamma, pi+pi-pi0, 3 pi0, pi+ pi- gamma, and e+ e- gamma, accounting for 99.9% of all eta decays. The precisions for several of the branching fractions and their ratios are improved. Abstract: We perform a Dalitz plot analysis of ${D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ decay with the CLEO-c data set of $572\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions accumulated at the $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$. This corresponds to $1.6\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ ${D}^{+}{D}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ pairs from which we select 140 793 candidate events with a small background of 1.1%. We compare our results with previous measurements using the isobar model. We modify the isobar model with an improved description of some of the contributing resonances and get better agreement with our data. We also consider a quasi-model-independent approach and measure the magnitude and phase of the contributing $K\ensuremath{\pi}$ $S$ wave in the range of invariant masses from the threshold to the maximum in this decay. This gives an improved description of our data over the isobar model. Finally we allow for an isospin-two ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ $S$ wave contribution and find that adding this to both the isobar model and the quasi-model-independent approach gives the best description of our data.

Abstract: Using the current world's largest data sample of psi(3770) decays, we present results of a search for the non-DDbar decay psi(3770) -> KsKl. We find no signal, and obtain an upper limit of Sigma(psi(3770) -> KsKl) KsKl) based on a charmonia-mixing model.

Abstract: We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the {upsilon}(1S) resonance into the final states {gamma}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0}, {gamma}{eta}{eta} and {gamma}{pi}{sup 0}{eta}, using 1.13 fb{sup -1} of e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation data collected at {radical}(s)=9.46 GeV with the CLEO III detector operating at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. In the channel {gamma}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0}, we measure the branching ratio for the decay mode {upsilon}(1S){yields}{gamma}f{sub 2}(1270) to be (10.5{+-}1.6(stat){sub -1.8}{sup +1.9}(syst))x10{sup -5}. We place upper limits on the product branching ratios for the isoscalar resonances f{sub 0}(1500) and f{sub 0}(1710) for the {pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0} and {eta}{eta} decay channels. We also set an upper limit on the {upsilon}(1S) radiative decay into {pi}{sup 0}{eta}.

Abstract: We study semileptonic B decay to the exclusive charmless states pi, rho/omega, eta, and eta;{'} using the 16 fb(-1) CLEO Upsilon(4S) data sample. We find B(B0--pi-l+nu)=(1.37+/-0.15stat+/-0.11sys)x10(-4) and B(B0--rho-l+nu)=(2.93+/-0.37stat+/-0.37sys)x10(-4) and find evidence for B+--eta'l+nu, with B(B+--eta'l+nu)=(2.66+/-0.80stat+/-0.56sys)x10(-4). From our B--pilnu rate for q216 GeV2 and lattice QCD, we find |Vub|=(3.6+/0.4stat+/0.2syst-0.4thy+0.6)x10(-3) [corrected]

Abstract: Using a sample of $3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ decays recorded by the CLEO detector, we study three-body decays of the ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c0}$, ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}$, and ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}$ produced in radiative decays of the $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$. We consider the final states ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\eta}$, ${K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\eta}$, $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\eta}$, ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$, ${K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}_{\mathrm{S}}^{0}$, and ${K}^{+}\overline{p}\ensuremath{\Lambda}$, measuring branching fractions or placing upper limits. For ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\eta}$, ${K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, and ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}_{\mathrm{S}}^{0}$ our observed samples are large enough to indicate the largest contributions to the substructure.

Abstract: Using data collected with the CLEO III detector at the CESR e{sup +}e{sup -} collider, we report on a first observation of the decay {upsilon}(3S){yields}{tau}{sup +}{tau}{sup -}, and precisely measure the ratio of branching fractions of {upsilon}(nS), n=1, 2, 3, to {tau}{sup +}{tau}{sup -} and {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -} final states, finding agreement with expectations from lepton universality. We derive absolute branching fractions for these decays, and also set a limit on the influence of a low mass CP-odd Higgs boson in the decay of the {upsilon}(1S)

Abstract: Using CLEO data, we study the production of the antideuteron, d, in {upsilon}(nS) resonance decays and the nearby continuum. The branching ratios obtained are B{sup dir}({upsilon}(1S){yields}dX)=(3.36{+-}0.23{+-}0.25)x10{sup -5}, B({upsilon}(1S){yields}dX)=(2.86{+-}0.19{+-}0.21)x10{sup -5}, and B({upsilon}(2S){yields}dX)=(3.37{+-}0.50{+-}0.25)x10{sup -5}, where the 'dir' superscript indicates that decays produced via reannihilation of the bb pair to a {gamma}* are removed from both the signal and the normalizing number of {upsilon}(1S) decays in order to isolate direct decays of the {upsilon}(1S) to ggg, gg{gamma}. Upper limits at 90% C.L. are given for B({upsilon}(4S){yields}dX)

Abstract: Using 5.63 pb^-1 of data accumulated at the psi(2S) resonance with the CLEO III and CLEO-c detectors corresponding to 3.08 million psi(2S) decays, a search is performed for the decay psi(2S) -> eta_c pi^+pi^-pi^0 to test a theoretical prediction based upon the assumption that the c \bar c pair in the psi(2S) does not annihilate directly into three gluons but rather survives before annihilating. No signal is observed, and a combined upper limit from six eta_c decay modes is determined to be B(psi(2S) -> eta_c pi^+pi^-pi^0) < 1.0 x 10^-3 at 90% C.L. This upper limit is about an order of magnitude below the theoretical expectation.

Abstract: Knowledge of the B{sub s} decay fraction of the {upsilon}(5S) resonance, f{sub S}, is important for B{sub s} meson studies at the {upsilon}(5S) energy. Using a data sample collected by the CLEO III detector at CESR consisting of 0.423 fb{sup -1} on the {upsilon}(5S) resonance, 6.34 fb{sup -1} on the {upsilon}(4S) and 2.32 fb{sup -1} in the continuum below the {upsilon}(4S), we measure B({upsilon}(5S){yields}{phi}X)=(13.8{+-}0.7{sub -1.5}{sup +2.3})% and B({upsilon}(4S){yields}{phi}X)=(7.1{+-}0.1{+-}0.6)%; the ratio of the two rates is (1.9{+-}0.1{sub -0.2}{sup +0.3}). This is the first measurement of the {phi} meson yield from the {upsilon}(5S). Using these rates, and a model dependent estimate of B(B{sub s}{yields}{phi}X), we determine f{sub S}=(24.6{+-}2.9{sub -5.3}{sup +11.0})%. We also update our previous independent measurement of f{sub S} made using the inclusive D{sub s} yields to now be (16.8{+-}2.6{sub -3.4}{sup +6.7})%, due to a better estimate of the number of hadronic events. We also report the total {upsilon}(5S) hadronic cross section above continuum to be {sigma}(e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}{upsilon}(5S))=(0.301{+-}0.002{+-}0.039) nb. This allows us to extract the fraction of B mesons as (58.9{+-}10.0{+-}9.2)%, equal to 1-f{sub S}. Averaging the three methods gives a model dependent result of f{sub S}=(21{sub -3}{sup +6})%.

Abstract: A precision measurement of the D^0 meson mass has been made using ~281 pb-1 of e+e- annihilation data taken with the CLEO-c detector at the psi(3770) resonance. The exclusive decay D^0 -> (Ks phi) has been used to obtain M(D^0)=1864.847+-0.150(stat)+-0.095(syst) MeV. This corresponds to M(D^0 D^*0)=3871.81+-0.36 MeV, and leads to a well-constrained determination of the binding energy of the proposed (D^0 D^*0) molecule X(3872), E_b=0.6+-0.6 MeV., 8 pages postscript,also available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/2006/, Submitted to PRL
