Introduction: Non-adherence to treatment recommendations is a significant problem, as it contributes to the progression of the disease and to the exacerbation of distressing symptoms. Failure to cope with the disease and elevated levels of stress, in turn, influence the choice of strategy for coping with a difficult situation, and thus adherence to recommendations. Objectives: The purpose of our study was to evaluate the impact of the subjects' stress coping styles on therapeutic adherence, life satisfaction, disease acceptance and quality of life (QoL) in people with mood disorders. Methods: This survey-based study included 102 respondents diagnosed with mood disorders, living in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It was performed using the sociodemographic questionnaire and standardized tools: The Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS), The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), The Short Form-36 (SF-36) Health Survey, The Adherence to Refills and Medication Scale (ARMS), and The Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS). Results: Some 47.06% of the respondents suffered from depressive disorders, while 34.31% had depression or mixed anxiety disorder. Patients who made greater use of an emotion-focused style were found to have significantly lower life satisfaction than other patients. Moreover, this style was related to such SF-36 domains as general health, social functioning, role emotional, vitality, and mental health, as well as to physical component summary (PCS) and mental component summary (MCS). Conclusion: Treatment non-adherence is a serious challenge in the treatment of patients with mood disorders. Individuals who do not adequately follow treatment recommendations often resort to alternative activities as a mechanism for coping with difficult situations. Patients who predominantly adopt an emotion-oriented coping style tend to experience lower life satisfaction and greater difficulty accepting their condition compared to their peers. This study aims to explore learning anxiety related to the English language and review specific coping strategies to develop and propose certain teaching strategies for the students in the preparatory year at the English Language Institute (ELI) studying at the University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This study also looks into the most dominating causes of Anxiety encountered by students and perceived by experienced English instructors in Saudi Arabia. The research questions are: What are the factors affecting the level of Anxiety among the target learners, and how can teachers cope with them to a great extent? An interview schedule was utilized for teachers to address the research questions. In addition, Self-rating questionnaires adapted and modified from the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), which Horwitz and Cope (1986) developed, were used as the instruments of the study. Based on the mixed method of analysis, it is revealed that a lot of students faced considerable levels of English language learning anxiety, corresponding to the fear of negative feedback/response and evaluation by many stakeholders. In any higher education institution, the discussions on admission-related stress have always focused on the interviewee. There are limited studies examining stress experienced by the academician while conducting the admission process. This study addresses this gap in the literature by examining various aspects of stress and coping mechanisms adopted by faculty. An interpretive phenomenological analysis is chosen to understand the meaning ascribed by the faculty to their experience of stress. A total of 22 participants were interviewed for the study. In-depth interviews were conducted with the faculty using a semi-structured questionnaire; addressing the cause of stress, the consequence of stress, and coping mechanisms adopted by faculty to tackle stress. The study highlighted factors such as perceived competency, interpersonal dynamics, time management and brand management, which stressed academicians and caused physical and psychological discomfort. To deal with stress, faculty adopted measures ranging from seeking social support and creating mental boundaries. Findings from the study can be leveraged by higher education institutions to design measures to tackle the occupational stress of faculty arising out of non-academic activities. As discourse on transnational labor migration continues to highlight the influence of structures on the experiences and existence of caregivers, Canada's economic immigration and status regularization programs are not excluded from the discussions. Particularly, the Canada (Live-in) Caregiver Program (henceforth LCP) introduced in 1992 has gained attention from popular and scholarly cycles despite being the only economic immigration program that guarantees permanent residency status to applicants after fulfilling the mandatory program requirements. Drawing from 19 empirical studies, this systematic literature review discussed some emerging themes from the LCP. From the studies reviewed, it was found that both current and former caregivers continue to bear the direct brunt of caregiving given their positionality as mostly racialized women from low-income countries. Moreover, among the range of issues discussed, homelessness, food insecurity, and the deteriorating health conditions of care workers are some pressing issues that need urgent scholarly and policy attention. These findings underscore the need for periodic reassessments of the LCP to understand the intersectionality of current and emerging issues—as the program has greater potential to meet rising care needs in Canada, but only if the living conditions of caregivers are addressed. Background: Nurses have reported considerable levels of perceived stress during pandemics, impairing quality of life in registered nurses. Studies supported the mediating roles of some coping strategies on the correlation between perceived stress and quality of life. However, rare studies have investigated these roles among Jordanian registered nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: Mainly to examine the mediating role of coping strategies in the relationship between perceived stress and quality of life in Jordanian registered nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional correlational design was used with an online survey. Convenience sampling was used to select 550 registered nurses from 8 hospitals located in Amman and Irbid cities. A demographic questionnaire, the Perceived Stress Scale, the Brief COPE inventory, and the World Health Organization-related Quality of Life scale were used to collect data. Descriptive and multiple-regression analyses were used to analyze the data collected. Results: Religion and then substance use were commonly used as coping strategies by Jordanian registered nurses. Substance abuse only mediated the relationship between stress perception and quality of life. Conclusion: Substance use only played a mediating role between perceived stress and quality of life among Jordanian registered nurses. Perceived stress and substance use should be valued as important variables for improving registered nurses' quality of life. Implications for Nursing: The results can be used by hospital administrators and decision makers as an empirical basis for planning and implementing effective coping strategies to manage nurses’ stress other than maladaptive coping strategies such as substance use. The decrease in well-being of school leaders has become an area of concern among scholars and practitioners around the world. Globally, increasing social, political, economic, educational, and professional demands faced by school administrators have led to an unmanageable workload, stress, burnout, and a lack of work–life balance. However, some principals thrive amidst challenges and are recognized by various national and international awards as outstanding school leaders. Examining the challenges that award-winning school principals face can both prevent conditions that decrease their well-being and help understand coping strategies and support systems necessary for successful school leadership. Our study examined the sense of flourishing among the national award-winning principals in the Canada's Outstanding Principals (COP) program that recognizes outstanding contributions of principals in publicly funded schools. In this article, we describe participants' perceptions regarding the significance of principal well-being, barriers and challenges to their well-being, coping strategies to promote and sustain their well-being, and necessary policy and school system supports for enhanced principal well-being. Purpose: The study was conducted to identify the influencing factors the quality of work life in emergency nurses during prolonged COVID-19. Methods: Data was collected on 197 emergency nurses, from November 8 to December 8, 2022. Data were analyzed based on descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation, hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: There was significant positive correlation between disaster nursing core competencies, coping flexibility, and quality of work life. The primary factors that significantly affected the quality of work life of emergency nurses were disaster nursing core competencies (β=.66, p<.001) and emergency department experience (β=.19, p=.030). The explanatory power of variable was 60%. Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was confirmed that disaster nursing core competencies were the factor that had the greatest impact on the quality of work life of emergency nurses. The purpose of this study is to investigate how COVID-19 pandemic including some coping strategies such as hand wash with soap and food consumption influences work operation or performance of nonfarm household enterprises (NHEs) in Nigeria using 2020 Living Standard Measurement Survey data of 1728 sample size. This study departs from existing study in two ways: first, the study employs multinomial logistic regression technique to ascertain the determinants of work performance of nonfarm household enterprises in Nigeria. Second, the study focuses on nonfarm enterprises such as petty trade, road side automobile and cab drivers. The results show that COVID-19 pandemic is significant with negative influence on the work operation of NHEs in Nigeria. The result of the study also reveals that coping strategy such as hand wash with soap during the pandemic is an important driver of work performance or operation of NHEs in Nigeria. Another coping strategy like food consumption by nonfarm household enterprises shows insignificant influence on work operation which implies that there is no relationship between food consumption and work operation by NHEs in Nigeria. The policy recommendation of this study, among others, is that policies should focus on procurement of sanitary material for public use. Calabar is a city in which 65 per cent of people live in poverty in informal settlements that have low and decreasing access to improved water. In the low-income informal areas of the city, residents are being made responsible for securing their own water supply through the use of several coping strategies. This paper explores the decreasing access to water and coping strategies for shortage in Calabar, Nigeria. It analyses two complementary pieces of data: (i) the households' coping strategies and (ii) satisfaction with improved water services. A mixed method was introduced, and data were collected via fieldwork at three settlements in Calabar. A household survey of 360 respondents and 27 in-depth interviews were undertaken, and focus groups were conducted. The findings show that households engaged in different coping strategies with which to access water, including conservation (changing routine/reusing), purchasing (spending a significant proportion of their income on buying water) and pumping. The household's tenure, socioeconomic status and water accessibility determine their decision to move if services are not provided. A crucial differentiation exists between a larger population being granted less access to water versus certain individuals receiving access to a greater quantity of water. The study suggests that improved access to water be secured by mainstreaming approaches and policy interventions that align with the needs of marginalized informal residents and by concerted efforts to effectively manage the water supply for sustainable development. Subsistence entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in India by providing livelihood opportunities to a significant portion of the population. The present study delves into the distinct challenges encountered by Muslim female entrepreneurs in the slums of New Delhi. Employing a narrative inquiry methodology that provides a platform for these women to share their stories, it offers an in-depth exploration of their entrepreneurial experiences. Through interviews and storytelling, participants articulate their challenges, experiences and coping strategies, enabling a comprehensive understanding of their entrepreneurial journeys. Thematic analysis of the collected narratives reveals recurring patterns, barriers and adaptive measures employed by the participants. The findings highlight challenges rooted in socio-cultural dynamics, political challenges and economic constraints. The study also sheds light on coping strategies, reflecting creativity and innovation. This research contributes to an enhanced understanding of the multifaceted constraints confronting Muslim female entrepreneurs in marginalized communities, providing insights to inform policies and interventions aimed at promoting their empowerment and socio-economic progress. Often in the forensic context, child victims and witnesses are interviewed several times, exposing them to suggestive questions and social pressures. The present study had the main purpose of verifying the effect of coping strategies on the levels of immediate suggestibility and on the Resistant Behavioral Responses (RBRs) of children subjected to repeated suggestive interviews. A sample of 90 children, aged between 11 and 14, were administered the two parallel Gudjonsson Suggestibility Scales (GSS2 and GSS1) a few months apart and the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS) to detect their coping strategies. The results showed that the avoidance coping increased suggestive vulnerability and reduced resistant responses. Task-oriented coping favored responses with greater source monitoring, which allow for the rejection of misleading information. Coping strategies did not show direct effects on the management of the socioemotional aspects involved in the suggestive interaction. After the negative feedback that invites children to be more accurate, a smaller effect of the avoidance strategy was recorded, indicating how actively requesting greater source monitoring can lead children to better recognize misleading information. Introduction: Workers who undergo solid organ transplantation report frequent conflicts between the unpredictable demands of their health condition and the rigid requirements of their employer and of health services. The present study aimed to describe the self-management strategies adopted by workers while staying at work before transplantation and during sustainable return-to-work posttransplantation. Methods: Fifteen employed kidney, liver, and lung transplant recipients were recruited from 2 large urban university health centers in Montreal, Canada. Three focus groups were held, and thematic analysis was performed. Findings: Seven strategies were identified: responding promptly and consistently to fatigue-related needs, planning ahead with immediate supervisors while remaining strategic about when to disclose transplantation, requesting work accommodations, requesting flexibility in healthcare provision, consulting physicians about work-related issues, informing co-workers about work limitations and immunosuppression and asking not to be treated differently in the workplace. Conclusion: Access to work accommodations, support from physicians and flexibility in treatment and appointment schedules supported workers' ability to manage their health while staying at work before and after undergoing solid organ transplantation. In light of findings, it may be useful for healthcare professionals to address workers' concerns about work limitations and work accommodation implementation, especially when the illness-management burden increases before transplantation and during posttransplantation sick leave. Background: Music Therapy (MT) is a non-pharmacological, art-based intervention that employs music experiences within a therapeutic alliance to attend to clients' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social requirements. This is the first study aiming at investigating the impact of MT on the psychological facets of children suffering from cancer. Methods: The study, combining the AQR and m-YPAS assessment tools, evaluated behavioral, sound–musical, and interactive parameters in pediatric oncology patients undergoing MT sessions during hospitalization. Fifty patients admitted to the Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Unit at Policlinico S. Orsola Hospital in Bologna, Italy, were enrolled, irrespective of their treatment regimen. Data collection occurred on the first day of the MT session between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with observations conducted by independent observers. In addition to traditional statistical analysis, network analysis was used to explore the combined interactions of all parameters, effectively discerning the distinctive roles played by each one during therapy sessions and their influence on all others. Results: Network analysis highlighted distinct patterns of interactions among parameters during the various sessions, emphasizing the role of positive emotions and a calm setting, the child's ability to take the initiative in sessions, their sense of agency, and the parent's role in guiding them. Significant differences were recorded at each time point between all variables considered. Conclusions: The results of this innovative study may pave the way for future multicenter studies aimed at further exploring the role of MT in children undergoing both curative and palliative treatments for cancer. Children with CP need continuous and dedicated attention from caregivers. Mothers of children with CP experience emotional burden, reducing their life quality and exhausting their condition to care. The coping strategies (CS) in mothers of children with CP are ineffective, exacerbating anxiety and negative affect, and present inadequate levels of emotional intelligence (EI).This work analyses the relationship between emotional burden of care, EI, and CS in mothers of children with CP; and compares this relationship depending on functional dependence´s children.Latina mothers of 6–16-year-old children with CP. The instruments used were the Barthel Index, Family Symptom Inventory, Coping Strategies Inventory, and Schutte Self-report Emotional Intelligence.An association between high levels of the emotional burden of care, a high propensity to use disengagement CS and low levels of EI was found. High levels of the emotional burden of care and high use of problem-focused disengagement CS were found in mothers of total children with functional dependence.Intervention programs should be designed to educate and stimulate personal resources to deal with the emotional burden of caregiving effectively. AbstractBackgroundObjectiveMethodsResultsConclusionsLimitationsChinese international students (CIS) in the United States may face unique mental health challenges that are often overlooked in discussions about mainstream college student needs.This study aims to investigate the predictors of mental health (MH) professional help-seeking intentions among CIS at a large public Midwestern university, as well as the obstacles that hinder their use of professional MH services.The study used quantitative and qualitative approaches to gather data on CIS’ help-seeking attitudes. Quantitative analysis focused on the association between specific factors and help-seeking intentions. Qualitative coding of open-ended questions provided additional insights into obstacles and suggestions for improving mental health support.The study identified several factors influencing the mental health help-seeking intentions of Chinese international students. Two primary negative predictors were a preference for emotional self-control and concerns about the questionable quality of treatment. Conversely, having previous experience with professional mental health services, both in China and the United States, was found to be a positive predictor of help-seeking intentions. Additionally, qualitative analysis of open-ended responses revealed further obstacles to seeking help and provided useful suggestions for enhancing mental health support for Chinese international students in college settings.The study identifies key factors that influence CIS’ attitudes toward seeking professional mental health services. Understanding these factors can help in developing strategies to better support the mental health of CIS in college settings.Several limitations must be acknowledged in this study. The cross-sectional design limits the ability to draw causal inferences from the data. Additionally, the sample may not be fully representative of the broader population of Chinese international students, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted daily life, economies, and health, prompting strict government measures, including nationwide lockdowns and school closures in Uganda, resulting in significant academic setbacks for adolescents. The coping strategies employed by school-going adolescents in Uganda amidst the COVID-19 pandemic remain inadequately understood. This study aimed to assess the coping strategies adopted by school-going adolescents (early, middle and late adolescents) in the Manafwa watershed, recognized as one of Uganda's most vulnerable regions, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A cross sectional study design was conducted from I5th May, 2023 to 30th June, 2023 on 762 school going adolescents from government-aided secondary schools within the Manafwa watershed area. The adolescent version of the KidCope tool was used to evaluate adolescents' coping strategies. Factor analysis identified correlations among adolescents' coping strategies. Independent Samples t-Test and One-Way Variance of Analysis (ANOVA) was used for comparing the mean score differences of the coping strategies among the gender and adolescents' stages respectively. Results: Majority (n = 141, 36.2%) of the participants employed adaptive coping followed by negative-emotion coping (n = 127, 32.6%) and avoidant coping (n = 122, 31.3%). Females employed statistically higher resignation as a coping strategy compared to males, (mean of 1.2 vs. 1.0, respectively; P = 0.026). A higher proportion (n = 88, 69.3%) of middle age adolescents employed negative-emotion regulation (P-value = 0.040). However, those in early adolescence significantly utilized distraction as a coping strategy more than those in middle adolescence (mean difference = 0.36, p = 0.013). Conclusion: During the pandemic, majority of school-going adolescents employed adaptive coping mechanisms, including positive emotional regulation and social support. However, compared to males, females employed resignation more frequently. Moreover, middle-aged adolescents had a greater propensity for negative emotion copying. Introduction: In video gaming, tilt is thought to relate to poor emotional control and game performance. Despite widespread recognition of tilt in video gaming, there is a lack of research examining tilt empirically. Methods: One thousand and seven gamers took part in our online study examining gamers experience of tilt, the factors which contribute to and protect against tilt, and the emotion regulation strategies gamers employ to deal with tilt. Results: Gamers who reported playing for more competitive reasons, were at higher risk of experiencing tilt. Additional factors associated with an increased risk of experiencing tilt were increased anger and more hours spent playing. Protective factors against experiencing tilt were also identified, inclusive of a greater number of years gaming experience and engagement in adaptive emotion regulation strategies. Children and adolescents with hearing-loss experience stress in their lives, and try to manage it by using coping strategies. This study examined the effectiveness of a resilience intervention programme on use of coping strategies in adolescent students with hearing-loss. A pre-test, post-test, follow-up and control group design was enforced. The participants consisted of 122 students with hearing loss in mainstreaming settings. They were randomly assigned to intervention (61 students) and control groups (61 students). The intervention group arranged in sub-groups of three to five and they received training for 6 weeks (two times per week for seventy-five min). The ‘Ways of Coping Questionnaire’ was used to measure different coping strategies used by individuals in stressful situations. The results showed significant difference between the control and interventional groups in terms of using types of coping strategies, at the post-test and follow-up measurements. The significant difference was found for seeking social support, planful problem solving in post and follow-up measurements. Using all types of coping strategies was enhanced in post measurement, except for accepting responsibility, escape/avoidance and distancing strategies. The resilience training programme was very effective on using the coping strategies and could be utilized to help students with hearing-loss cope with stressful situations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACT Military‐connected adolescents face unique challenges associated with military life, and some coping strategies are more beneficial to their well‐being than others. It is important to understand their use of various coping strategies in connection with their psychological well‐being and if there are family circumstances in which these coping strategies are more or less effective for enhancing psychological well‐being. Two hundred sixty‐six Army families completed surveys. A path analysis examined the associations between military‐connected adolescents' use of three distinct coping strategies (i.e., engaging in activities, utilizing self‐reliance and optimism, and venting negative feelings) and their psychological well‐being (i.e., depressive symptoms, anxiety and life satisfaction). The moderating role of family functioning (reported by mothers) was also examined. The three coping strategies were uniquely related to indicators of the adolescents' psychological well‐being, particularly their life satisfaction. Family functioning was not a robust moderator of these associations but was directly associated with greater well‐being. Study findings emphasize the salience of various coping strategies for military‐connected adolescents. In addition to initiatives that foster healthy family functioning, implications include programming to enhance adolescents' use of coping strategies that encourage self‐reliance and optimism along with engaging in demanding activities while minimizing adolescents' reliance on venting negative feelings as a coping strategy. Aim Methods Results Conclusions Exposure to adversity during childhood is associated with elevated risk for commonly occurring forms of psychopathology, especially psychotic disorders. Despite the noteworthy consequences associated with adverse childhood experiences, an inconsistent and unpredictable number of at‐risk populations present with remarkably good physical and mental health outcomes that can be attributed to resilience. This study aimed to qualitatively explore the experience of childhood adverse events and coping strategies employed by individuals that promote resilience and better mental health outcomes.Fourteen individuals with a history of childhood adversity were recruited to participate using a case‐study approach. A semi‐structured interview guide was developed based on empirical evidence and theoretical background, and the interviews were analysed using a reflexive thematic approach.Our findings showed that the type of adversity impacted the experience of trauma, for example, the death of a caregiver versus emotional abuse or witnessing violence at home. Five coping strategies were identified (social support, religious coping, problem or emotion‐focused coping, and meaning‐making), with healthy controls found to identify and use these resources more than the psychosis group to promote individual well‐being and better mental health outcomes.Our findings provide insights into experiences in the aftermath of childhood adversity, emphasising the need to assess the history of trauma systematically. They further underscore the importance of mental health prevention programmes bolstering individual‐level coping strategies and the resources available within our environments to help them manage adversity, improve overall outcomes, and promote resilience. The present research was conducted aiming at predicting the resilience based on parenting and coping strategies in patients with psychosomatic disorders. The statistical population of the present research consisted of all patients suffering from psychosomatic disorders who had visited medical clinics related to Medical Sciences (University) of Arak County in 2019-20. The statistical sample includes 347 women, aged 18 to 55 years-old, who were selected by available sampling. Data collection tool included Young parenting, Moss and Billings coping strategies questionnaire and Connor and Davidson resilience questionnaire. Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that parenting (dependency, preoccupied/untransformed self) have a negative and significant relationship with resilience. Coping strategies focused on emotion, coping focused on physical restraint or physicalization of problems have a negative and significant relationship with resilience and have a positive and significant relationship with coping strategies focused on problem-solving and coping focused on cognitive evaluation. According to the findings, it can be concluded that it is possible to pave the way for increasing resilience and preventing the development of psychosomatic disorders by creating suitable conditions during the childhood, improving parent-child relationships, and by strengthening coping strategies focused on problem-solving and coping focused on cognitive evaluation. Only a few studies, mainly qualitative thematic analyses of interviews, have dealt with the psychological experience of parents of children and adolescents with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), a rare genetic syndrome involving skeletal fragility and increased exposure to bone fractures. The aim of the present study was to evaluate both negative (i.e., parental burden and parenting stress) and positive (i.e., coping strategies and perceived social support) experiences of parents related to their children's disease and behaviour. The participants were 34 parents of children and adolescents with OI who completed a specifically developed online survey assessing their psychological experience with caregiving, their perception of the severity level of their children's condition and any possible behavioural problems experienced by their children. Data analyses showed that 65% of the parents showed a clinical level of caregiver burden and nearly 30% a clinical level of parenting stress. Caregiver burden was related to the perceived severity level of the condition and the externalising problems shown by their children. Concerning the positive aspects of the parents' experience, a high level of perceived social support was connected to a lower level of parenting stress; the same did not happen for caregiver burden. Coping strategies were connected to stress and burden; in particular, a higher level of stress corresponded to a higher level of avoidance, and a higher level of burden corresponded to a higher level of positive attitude. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic imposed lockdown measures that affected caregiving. Understanding caregivers' context provides reveals their adaptive strategies to continue caring in this situation of uncertainty and isolation. Objective: To better understand the caregiving experiences of caregivers looking after dependent individuals living in the community during the pandemic. Design: Qualitative research, phenomenological approach. Setting: Primary healthcare centers in Madrid region (Spain). Participants: 21 family caregivers. Methods: Purposive and theoretical sampling was used to recruit caregivers across nurses from primary healthcare centers. Participants were interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide to explore the caring experience. Interview transcripts were evaluated using thematic analysis. Results: The findings were categorized into two themes: "Caregivers during lockdown—providing care in a time of adversity" and "Caregiving toward normality". The sub-themes identified were the re-structuring of before-care services and the introduction of new care approaches, managing the dependent person's health problems, looking after oneself, and dealing with adversity. To adapt to the new normal, strategies were put in place designed to recover confidence and trust, reincorporate assistance, and reconnect with others. Conclusions: Care intensified during the pandemic. Caregivers took on the task without assistance, focusing on preventing contagion and protecting themselves to be able to continue giving care. Background: Understanding the stressors and coping strategies of nursing students in their first clinical training is important for improving student performance, helping students develop a professional identity and problem-solving skills, and improving the clinical teaching aspects of the curriculum in nursing programmes. While previous research have examined nurses' sources of stress and coping styles in the Arab region, there is limited understanding of these stressors and coping strategies of nursing students within the UAE context thereby, highlighting the novelty and significance of the study. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured interviews. Overall 30 students who were undergoing their first clinical placement in Year 2 at the University of Sharjah between May and June 2022 were recruited. All interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim and analyzed for themes. Results: During their first clinical training, nursing students are exposed to stress from different sources, including the clinical environment, unfriendly clinical tutors, feelings of disconnection, multiple expectations of clinical staff and patients, and gaps between the curriculum of theory classes and labatories skills and students' clinical experiences. We extracted three main themes that described students' stress and use of coping strategies during clinical training: (1) managing expectations; (2) theory-practice gap; and (3) learning to cope. Learning to cope, included two subthemes: positive coping strategies and negative coping strategies. Conclusions: This qualitative study sheds light from the students viewpoint about the intricate interplay between managing expectations, theory practice gap and learning to cope. Therefore, it is imperative for nursing faculty, clinical agencies and curriculum planners to ensure maximum learning in the clinical by recognizing the significance of the stressors encountered and help students develop positive coping strategies to manage the clinical stressors encountered. The infection with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the pandemic have had a profound impact on people's physical health and mental well-being. While studies have shown that frontline healthcare workers demonstrated posttraumatic growth (i.e., positive psychological changes resulting from struggle and challenges from the pandemic) little attention has been given to the experiences of individuals who recovered from COVID-19. The present study examined whether the COVID-19 survivors experienced similar changes. Based on the literature, it is hypothesized that social support, family support, coping strategies, and financial safety may be related to posttraumatic growth (PTG) among COVID-19 survivors in Kerala, India. During the second wave of the pandemic in India, the study surveyed 427 Covid-19 survivors online using measures of PTG, family support, social support, coping strategies, financial safety, and demographics. The results showed that (1) active problem-solving and positive reappraisal of emotions helped survivors find meaning in the crisis; (2) support from friends was more important than support from family in helping survivors see the benefits of the adversity; and (3) financial safety was negatively related to PTG. This study aims to characterize the strategies researchers used to cope with Covid-19 impact and to explore the relationship between those strategies, researchers' characteristics and the pandemic impact in their lives. 721 researchers, proportionally distributed among three Spanish regions, answered an online survey on the pandemic impact on their activity. Scales referred to social support, productivity, research tasks, working conditions, and work and personal life balance. An open-ended section was included to collect the strategies they used to cope with the pandemic consequences. 1528 strategies were content analysed and categorised based on their purposes and related to the rest of the impact variables. Results show the predominance of some strategies for the whole sample both at the work level, such as organizing work duties and plans, and at the personal level, such as maintaining life-work balance and improving personal well-being. Results stress to what extent a strategic approach contributed to minimize contextual issues or constraints even in an extreme situation as the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown. A non-strategic approach, consisting of just reacting emotionally or dropping research, was the less effective way to maintain interest in research, sustained work and productivity and to warrant work-life balance. Developing a strategic approach was easier for those without caring responsibilities and for men. Women in our study, especially with caring responsibilities, had reduced opportunities to continue with their careers during the pandemic. As a response to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, governments around the globe have carried on strict lockdown measures affecting millions of jobs, public life, and the well-being of people. This study examines people's subjective well-being, such as the perception of the economic situation and mental well-being, who made adjustments to cope with the earning losses. We estimate the well-being cost, which is the money required to compensate people because of the reduction in earnings or employment loss and the coping strategy followed to bring their well-being to the levels of those who have not adopted any coping strategy. We examine two outcomes; the perception of the economic situation and a mental well-being index. We employ data from the ERF COVID-19 MENA Monitor Surveys for Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. The results show that coping strategies with earning losses impact well-being and are associated with high costs. In most cases, the coping strategies of borrowing from banks and selling assets present the highest well-being costs. Furthermore, the estimates highlight significant discrepancies across gender and types of workers, such as those employed in the informal sector and temporary contracts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

(1) Background: Stress is defined as a psychological sensation related to a change in both human physiology and behavior in response to a threat or challenge. As the prevalence of stress is increasing globally, nurses represent a risk group for exposure to stress-related psychological alterations. The aim of this study was to explore how clinical nurses in Lithuania cope with the perceived chronic stress in relation to additional emotional experiences following the death of a patient. (2) Methods: During a four-week period of October 2023, a total of 283 female nurses, aged between 20 and 70 years old, were enrolled in a single cross-sectional study. The PSS-10 (perceived stress scale) and the Brief-COPE (Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced) questionnaires were applied to assess the level of self-perceived stress and the use of coping styles along with the adequate strategies. Furthermore, the nurses' emotions, evoked following patient death, were classified depending on their valence. Both the multiple linear and logistic regression statistical analyses were conducted to examine the associations between dependent and independent variables. (3) Results: The study identified that more than half of the nurses experienced patient death several times a month. A moderate-to-high level of the symptoms of mental chronic stress were suffered by 76% of caregivers. The psychological arousal following the death of a patient may induce the occurrence of emotional complexity that refers to competitive feelings, namely, helplessness (adjusted odd ratio (AOR) 1.7, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) 1.1; 2.9), disappointment (AOR 1.9, 95% CI 1.1; 3.5), anxiety (AOR 1.9, 95% CI 1.2; 4.2), and guilt (ORadj 4.7, 95% CI 1.4; 5.7), and can serve as a potential trigger for chronic stress development in clinical nurses. In terms of emotion-focused stress control (β 0.1, 95% CI −0.1; −0.2, R2 = 0.12), Lithuanian nurses had low control of the perceived chronic stress. The use of problem-focused coping (β −0.2, 95% CI −0.3; −0.1, R2 = 0.09) was also not addressed to an appropriate extent. The use of the avoidance coping style was associated with moderate–high levels of chronic stress perceived by nurses (β 0.5, 95% CI 0.4; 0.7, R2 = 0.24). Furthermore, the avoidant coping strategy related to behavioral disengagement was significantly related to resilience to chronic stress in an adverse way. The cognitive process of self-blame was considered as a meaningful maladaptive behavior component for magnifying chronic stress in nurses. (4) Conclusions: The study highlights the need to implement the recommendations for boosting the nurses' mental health. Hospitals should contribute to psychological assistance along with providing necessary training on stress-coping strategies for clinical nurses. In order to promote the sustainability of mental health through additional social support interventions, it would be useful to upgrade the clinical nurses' daily routines with mindfulness-based trainings. Introduction: Academic and emotional challenges faced by medical students can affect their psychological well-being and health. Personal characteristics may also predispose one to the manifestation of distress reactions. Individuals with type D personality have an increased tendency to develop depressive reactions and somatic diseases, including the presence of cognitive dysfunction. In students, the presence of cognitive dysfunction may additionally adversely affect academic and psycho-emotional problems. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of type D personality and coping strategies on cognitive functioning in medical students. Methods: A cross-sectional study included 258 medical students (age 19 ± 1.2 years, 79 men). All participants completed psychological questionnaires (DS-14 to identify type D personality, and The Coping Strategy Indication, CSI—to determine coping strategies), as well as extensive neuropsychological testing of cognitive functions. Results: Among the medical students examined, the frequency of identification of type D personality was 44%. In persons with personality type D, according to psychometric testing, a decrease in the level of functional mobility of nervous processes (FMNP) was noted, which was manifested in an increase in the test completion time (p < 0.001) and an increase in the number of errors (p < 0.001) during the FMNP test, and an increase in the test completion time in the attention concentration test. In addition, in type D participants, an increase in the test execution time during the attention test was noted (p = 0.007). Personality type D was an independent risk factor for cognitive decline in students in multiple linear regression analysis, when type D was analyzed as a dichotomous construct. Conclusions: Assessing personal characteristics and identifying personality type D is advisable for medical students, to develop subsequent programs to increase their resistance to academic challenges, improve cognitive function, and also to prepare for future stress loads during professional activities in the field of healthcare. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of body image coping strategies in the relationship between positive body image and wellbeing. Three hundred and seventy-two women and three hundred and seventy-seven men completed a questionnaire assessing body appreciation, body appreciation functionality, body compassion, body image coping strategies (appearance fixing, avoidance, positive rational acceptance), self-acceptance and overall psychological wellbeing. Path analysis showed that avoidance significantly mediated the relationship between body appreciation and overall psychological wellbeing among both women and men; its mediating role was confirmed for men's but not for women's self-acceptance. Positive rational acceptance was a significant mediator of the relationship between body compassion and both psychological wellbeing and self-acceptance among men but not among women. These findings show that higher body appreciation is associated with a lower tendency to avoid appearance-related cognitions or thoughts that are interpreted as threatening, with an indirect effect on women's and men's psychological wellbeing. Analogously, but only for men, body compassion is associated with mental activities and self-care behaviors that foster rational self-talk and the acceptance of one's experiences, which, in turn, are linked to higher wellbeing. Background: Patients with premature ejaculation (PE) are often concerned and distressed about their sexual performance. Hence, they may be more willing to exploit their refractory period to employ sexual coping strategies in order to improve their unsatisfactory sexual intercourse compared with patients without PE. Aim: The study sought to verify the sexual coping strategies of patients with PE in the daily sexual activities. Methods: We included both patients with PE and individuals without PE and analyzed their sexual behaviors and attitudes by means of detailed interviews and questionnaires. Outcomes: The main outcomes were perceived intravaginal ejaculatory latency time recording, Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool score, and sexual frequency, attitudes, and behavior log. Results: A total of 182 young patients with PE (age 31.2 ± 6.2 years) and 92 individuals without PE (age 30.7 ± 5.1 years) were included in the study. A total of 53.3% of patients with PE vs 17.4% of individuals without PE reported engaging in multiple sexual intercourse sessions within a single day in the past 4 weeks. PE patients who engaged in multiple intercourse sessions displayed better performance during the second attempt but performed poorly compared with individuals without PE. Scores for the first attempt in PE vs second attempt in individuals with PE vs without PE were the following: intravaginal ejaculatory latency time, 2.4 ± 1.6 vs 4.8 ± 5.7 vs 9.9 ± 9.4 (P <.001); Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool, 14.9 ± 3.1 vs 12.7 ± 4.8 vs 5.2 ± 2.5 (P <.001); satisfaction, 2.9 ± 1.0 vs 3.1 ± 0.8 vs 3.7 ± 1.4 (P <.001). A total of 57.1% of patients held a negative attitude toward precoital masturbation, for reasons such as a reduced sexual desire (21.2%), the belief that masturbation is harmful (17.6%), concerns about erectile function (15.7%), fatigue (9.8%), and other mixed reasons (35.3%). Clinical Implications: Engaging in multiple intercourse sessions within a day is more common among the young PE population, and using precoital masturbation as a coping strategy is not universally applicable among patients with PE. Strengths and Limitations: This is the first study to explore symptom-coping strategies in patients with PE compared with individuals without PE. However, the conclusions cannot be generalized to the entire male population. Conclusion: Patients with PE, compared with individuals without PE, are more inclined to engage in multiple sexual intercourse sessions within a single sexual session, likely in an attempt to compensate for their first unsatisfactory sexual encounter. This study aims to assess the key barriers to physical activity among overweight and obese adolescents, discovering that the most significant obstacles are a lack of time, different priorities, and a poor perception of one's body. A mixed method sequential explanatory design was used in the study which involves 50 respondents and 8 outliers in one of the public senior high schools in Cluster 1, Division of Pampanga. These findings are consistent with broader research, which shows that time constraints, low motivation, and self-consciousness pose typical challenges for those dealing with weight concerns. Interestingly, the study finds that social support from friends is the preferred coping strategy, implying a preference for emotional comfort over creative solutions. Despite exhibiting good internal problem-solving skills in planning and goal setting, there is a lack of confidence in execution. Furthermore, preferred avoidance coping mechanisms, such as daydreaming and fantasizing, indicate a preference for emotional distance and self-soothing over direct confrontation. The study underlines the value of building self-acceptance and engaging in the present moment as potential alternatives to daydreaming. It also identifies possible issues such as low self-esteem and a desire to escape reality. Notably, overweight and obese learners face different physical and psychological difficulties. The study points out the importance of peer support in coping techniques, as students rely greatly on peers for emotional support, which inspires emotions such as belonging and appreciation. Lastly, learners indicate a stronger willingness to get involved with organized activities such as sports, recognizing the potential benefits of improving physical fitness. Background: On 7 October 2023, hundreds of armed Hamas fighters breached the security border fence and entered Israel from the Gaza Strip. More than 1400 Israeli citizens were murdered, and 239 individuals were kidnapped. Many Israeli citizens experienced these occurrences as psychologically traumatic events that caused stress and uncertainty. Objectives: The present study aimed to examine the relationship between exposure to war (in more distant circles), intolerance of uncertainty (IU) and disengaged coping on acute stress symptoms (ASS). First, we examined whether exposure to war and IU were directly associated with ASS. Second, we tested the mediating role of disengaged coping in the relationship among war exposure, IU and ASS. Methods: This cross‐sectional study involved 393 Israeli citizens. Participants answered questionnaires on exposure to war, IU, coping strategies and ASS. Results: The study results indicate that higher exposure and higher levels of IU were directly associated with more intensive ASS, and this association was partially mediated by higher use of disengaged coping strategies. Conclusions: Individuals during wartime are at risk of experiencing high levels of ASS and developing ASD. Aim: This study aimed to assess the rates of peer bullying and stress-coping strategies in adolescents with SAD and to investigate the relationship between SAD and different types of peer bullying. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study included ninety-two adolescents aged 14 to 17 years with SAD and one hundred-five typically developing adolescents. A semi-structured psychiatric interview, the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A), the Peer Bullying Scale-Adolescent Form (PBS-AF), and the Coping Scale for Adolescents (CSA) were applied to all participants. Peer bullying was classified into six types (physical, verbal, exclusion, spreading rumors, attacks against property, and sexual) and two roles (bullying and victimization). Results: On every subscale of the PBS-AF victimization dimension, the SAD group's mean scores were significantly higher than those of the controls. Regarding the PBSAF bullying dimension, the Physical Bullying and Sexual Bullying scores of the SAD group were significantly lower than the control group, but the Isolation/Exclusion scores were significantly higher than the control group. Compared to the control group, the mean scores of Active Coping of CSA were significantly lower, while the mean scores of Negative Coping and Avoidant Coping were significantly higher in the SAD group. The SAS-A's total score had a significant positive correlation with all subscales of the PBS-AF victimization dimension. Age, gender, academic performance, and psychiatric comorbidity had a predictive effect on some of the victimization dimension variables of peer bullying. Conclusion: This study has revealed that SAD is an important risk factor for peer victimization. Peer support workers have lived experiences of the challenges their clients face. While research has shown peer work can benefit recovery, the negative consequences have not been clearly addressed. This study aimed to explore the experiences of compassion fatigue amongst peer support workers in homelessness services, and the coping strategies used. An explorative qualitative design was adopted. Six peer support workers, in homelessness services, were recruited via snowball sampling. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews and analysed using thematic analysis. Five themes were identified: relentless nature of working in homelessness services, change, making meaning of past experiences, organisational support, and personal coping strategies. There were two novel findings: (1) multiple clients recounting traumatic experiences, and (2) being unfairly blamed for lack of progress, exacerbating compassion fatigue. The findings of this study furthers limited research on compassion fatigue and can be used to develop protocols and practices for organisations that utilise peer support. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main aim of the study was to investigate the coping strategies and their association with self-reported general health/psychological status in Ukrainian female refugees' sample (N = 919) in the Czech Republic. The BRIEF-COPE inventory was employed to investigate coping strategies. Binomial logistic regression analysis was performed to investigate the association between self-reported general health status and self-reported psychological status with coping strategies adjusted by socio-demographics. The findings showed that within problem-focused coping strategies, planning what to do and taking action to try to make the stressful situation better has been found the most frequently used. Among the emotion-focused coping, more often used strategies connected with accepting the situation and learning to live in new circumstances. On side of avoidance coping strategies, only strategies to work or to do other activities 'to take their minds off things' were used more often. Further, outcomes revealed that ineffective coping strategies of self-blame and behavioral disengagement were associated with poorly reported general health/psychological status, and effective coping strategy was positively associated with better-reported psychological status. The research outcomes could be useful for the policymakers to help Ukrainian female refugees to better adapt to the country and avoid worsening physical and mental health statuses. Background: The nursing profession is inherently stressful, and nurses in Abha City face unique challenges due to rapid population growth and evolving healthcare needs. Objective: The purpose of the present study is to identify the correlation between "Occupational stress, coping strategies and quality of life" among nurses in Abha city. Method: The present study utilized a cross-sectional, descriptive survey, and correlational research design. A convenience sampling throughout an online questionnaire was used to recruit 411 nurses from three hospitals in Abha city, and data was collected using three validated instruments: The Expanded Nursing Stress Scale, the Brief Cope Scale, and the World Health Organization-Quality of Life Scale. SPSS version 26 was used for data analysis, including descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: Findings revealed a moderate level of occupational stress (mean score 2.31 ± 0.56 on the ENSS-59 scale), with the main sources being dealing with patients and their families (2.35 ± 0.65), uncertainty concerning treatment (2.33 ± 0.66), and discrimination (2.32 ± 0.88). Nurses employed coping strategies such as planning (2.49 ± 0.75), religion (2.47 ± 0.72), and substance use (2.45 ± 0.77), while the least adopted strategies were self-blame (2.40 ± 0.71), self-distraction (2.37 ± 0.73), and behavioral disengagement (2.32 ± 0.73). Significant associations were found between sources of occupational stress and coping strategies, such as death and dying stress source correlating with self-distraction (r=0.202), use of instrumental support (r=0.111), positive reframing (r=0.154), humor (r=0.111), religion (r=0.142), and self-blame (r=0.141). Conflict with peers as a stress source was significantly correlated with self-distraction (r=0.157), denial (r=0.158), substance use (r=0.183), use of instrumental support (r=0.130), behavioral disengagement (r=0.106), venting (r=0.121), humor (r=0.203), religion (r=0.106), and self-blame (r=0.152). A significantly negative association between occupational stress and quality of life was also identified (r=-0.451). Conclusion: Significant correlation were found between sources of occupational stress and coping strategies. The study also demonstrated a significant negative association between occupational stress and quality of life, emphasizing the need for interventions to reduce occupational stress and enhance nurses' well-being. Objective: Despite more women living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC), this population is underrepresented in cancer survivorship research. Few studies have assessed how women with MBC cope with their cancer experience. This qualitative study describes the coping strategies and psychosocial resources utilized by women living with MBC.Methods: Twenty-two women with MBC participated in four focus groups. Transcripts were analyzed using a general inductive approach. Codes derived from participants' responses were subsequently condensed into themes.Results: We identified 12 coping strategies and psychosocial resources and grouped them into five themes: Behavioral Coping Strategies (i.e. stress management, active coping and planning); Cognitive Coping Strategies and Psychological Resources (i.e. cognitive reappraisal, optimism, mindfulness, positive thinking, and religious coping); Existential Approach-Oriented Coping (i.e. acceptance, values-based living, and identity integration); Avoidance (i.e. avoidant coping); and Interpersonal Resources and Seeking Social Support (i.e. social support).Conclusions: Women living with MBC utilize several engagement and disengagement coping strategies, as well as intrapersonal and interpersonal resources. This study provides useful perspectives of women living with MBC that may inform the development of psychosocial interventions. Despite the growth of research on teachers' emotional vulnerability in recent years, little research has explored this issue among student teachers. Drawing on the lens of the community of practice (CoP), in this study, we report on the emotional vulnerability and coping strategies of Turkish student teachers during a teacher education course. Data were collected before, during, and after the course using semi‐structured interviews, reflective journals, and narrative frames. Data analysis revealed that across the engagement, imagination, and alignment dimensions of the CoP, the student teachers experienced emotional vulnerability that not only influenced their present membership but also negatively shaped their future perceptions. Additionally, the student teachers adopted various personal and interpersonal coping strategies to regulate their negative emotions, which reduced the negative effects of emotional vulnerability on their CoP membership. We conclude the study with implications for teacher educators in how to use the findings to deal with student teachers' emotional vulnerability, especially through drawing on their coping strategies. Background: Chronic joint pain is a significant and widespread symptom in people with haemophilia (PWH). Despite medical advancements, effective pain management remains challenging. Aim: This study presents an innovative approach that integrates remote physical exercises, pain neuroscience education, and coping strategies to address chronic pain in PWH. Methods: The remote intervention consisted of sixteen 5‐min videos encompassing physical exercises for chronic pain management and pain education strategies. These videos formed an 8‐week remote intervention program. Clinical and physical assessments were conducted before and after the intervention. Results: A total of thirty‐one PWHs, with a median age of 34 years (ranging from 16 to 59 years), completed the remote intervention. The study revealed significant improvements in pain intensity, disability, and physical performance among PWH with chronic pain. Enhanced functional capacity was evident in the Timed Up and Go and Single Leg Stance tests, accompanied by improved scores on the Functional Independence Score in Haemophilia (FISH). Although lacking a control group, our findings are consistent with other successful exercise and pain education programs. Conclusions: This innovative intervention holds promise for managing chronic pain in PWH, underscoring patient empowerment, education, and collaboration. Background. Occupational stress negatively impacts radiographers' wellbeing in ways that undermine their coping strategies and affects occupational functioning. The purpose of this study was to investigate coping strategies used and perceived necessary by public sector diagnostic radiographers in a selected district of KwaZulu-Natal. Methods. A quantitative approach, with a descriptive cross sectional design, was used to understand stress management strategies used by radiographers within the eThekwini district health sector. The research tool of management standards indicator developed by Health and Safety Executive in the United Kingdom (UK) was adapted. The questionnaire included demographic data and open-ended questions in order to meet the selected regional requirements. A random stratified sample of public health institutions within the eThekwini District of KwaZulu-Natal was conducted to select research sites. A sample of 101 respondents was selected following ethical approval processes. Results. Majority (65.1%) of the respondents denied availability of employer provided resources to support them through occupational stress. Almost half (48.8%) stated that they engaged in physical exercise to manage stress. A supportive occupational environment, and good interpersonal relations, in terms of the analysis of replies to the open-ended questions, were identified as occupational stress alleviating resources. Conclusion. Whilst some employers provided occupational stress relieving resources these competed for time with work-related pressures. Radiographers need secure and supportive working environments with healthy interpersonal relationships to cope with occupational stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Alcohol Dependence Syndrome is a chronic illness that is relapsing in nature. Past research has shown that coping strategies that are specific to alcohol dependence are useful in preventing long-term relapse. This follow-up study is, therefore, an attempt to understand the coping styles and strategies that are associated with relapse among individuals dependent on alcohol. Methods: We aimed to cross-sectionally assess the severity of alcohol dependence and coping styles of Alcohol dependent individuals. One hundred and twenty-seven consecutive patients who satisfied the International Classification of Diseases Tenth Edition (ICD 10) criteria for alcohol dependence and who were above the age of 18 years were included. This study was conducted in the de-addiction outpatient services of a Tertiary care center in South India between April 2019 and June 2020. Our Institutional Ethical Committee granted the approval for this study. We used a self-designed proforma for collecting the socio-demographic details. The Severity of Alcohol Dependence Questionnaire (SADQ) and Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced Inventory (Brief – COPE) were administered. Patients were followed up for six months. Motivation Enhancement Therapy was given to all our participants during their monthly follow-up visit. Descriptive analysis was performed using mean and standard deviation. We used the student t -test and chi-squared test to understand the differences in the coping strategies between relapsed and non-relapsed persons. Spearman's correlation was used to assess the correlation between the severity of alcohol dependence and coping strategies. A p value of <.05 was taken as significant. Results: Non-relapsed individuals had significantly higher scores on active coping (p =.008), emotional support (p =.044), informational support (p =.017), planning (p <.001), acceptance (p =.030), and humor (p =.001). Relapsed individuals had statistically significant scores on denial (p =.005), substance use (p =.024), and self-blame (p =.012). We found a positive correlation between the severity of alcohol dependence and maladaptive coping strategies (p <.01). Conclusions: Relapsed individuals were found to have significantly higher maladaptive coping strategies. Non-relapsed individuals exhibited greater adaptive coping styles. Stress cannot be avoided even by a teenager in high school. Some people use coping strategies to reduce stress. Coping strategies allow for more targeted and effective psychological interventions and will increase a person's ability to manage stress. The aim of this research is to analyze adolescents' coping strategies and stress. This research is a type of qualitative research using phenomenological methods. Research location High school. Determining research topics is inherently a snowball. The informants for this research were high school adolescents, teachers, and parents. The primary data collection technique involves conducting in-depth interviews using multiple informant interview guidelines. The process of data analysis includes: data reduction, data categorization, synthesis and ends with the development of a working hypothesis. Research findings revealed that adolescents are always stressed because stressors are always present in their lives. Internal and external sources of stress in adolescents have been found. Internal drivers of adolescent stress such as temperament, attachment, mastery, and selfdetermination processes. External factors observed in adolescents are social conditions, parental models and school processes. Several types of adolescent coping strategies have been shown to be adaptive and maladaptive. Adaptive coping strategies include reflection and self-reflection. Maladaptive coping strategies have been found to involve avoiding problems. Socialize to adolescents, parents and schools how to know adolescents better and help them in the developmental phase of searching for their own identity. This research explored how Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) coped with the impact of COVID-19 on the Ghanaian economy. The relevance of this research goes as far as the economic strength of the country as SMEs account for nearly 70% of Ghana's total GDP. This means the findings from this research have a significant effect on the macroeconomic indicators of the country as a whole. The study examined results from 864 SMEs in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana that were selected under the purposive sampling method. Various SMEs, including business operations in the hospitality, trading, manufacturing, fashion, and IT industries, were included in the study. The results indicated that the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the survival of SMEs were evident as the global economic crisis disrupted business operations, including supply chain and manufacturing activities which resulted in operating cash flow, profitability, and loan repayment challenges. To cope with the impact of the pandemic, most SMEs implored several strategies mainly service outsourcing and downsizing of employees, among other operational interventions. Those in the IT service industry intensified their online presence to leverage the opportunities. The government also provided business support packages to cushion the impact of the pandemic. In conclusion, as SMEs are a strong support system to the economy, the government ought to create an enabling environment for their sustainability at all times, especially during economic meltdowns like the covid-19 global pandemic. This article discusses a study that compared the musculoskeletal health, pain acceptance, and coping strategies of individuals with chronic pain and physical disabilities to those without disabilities. The study found that individuals with disabilities had poorer perceptions of musculoskeletal health and coping strategies, but similar levels of pain acceptance. The study highlights the importance of assessing coping strategies and incorporating personalized strategies in intervention programs for individuals with chronic pain and physical disabilities. Background: This qualitative study explored the experiences of survivors of group conflicts in Nigeria. The persistent conflicts in Nigeria not only create a sense of social distance but also hamper political and socioeconomic development of the country. This current study, therefore, serves as a guide to politicians and policy makers on how to effectively manage ethno-religious conflicts and practise peace building more safely. Method: Data were gathered by means of semi-structured interviews conducted on fifteen individuals and analysed using thematic analysis. Participants were the survivors of numerous conflicts perpetrated by the Boko Haram Islamists and the Niger Delta Avengers in the northern and southern parts of Nigeria respectively. Findings and Conclusion: Two major themes emerged from the interviews, which capture the experiences of the participants who were the survivors of the numerous conflicts. Among these themes were also their suggestions on how to stop the conflicts and prevent any future conflicts. These themes include triggers of the conflict and coping with conflicts. Under these main themes were also subthemes where the numerous experiences were presented descriptively. These findings were placed alongside previous studies in this area and discussed with the existing theories in this field. Recommendations were made on how to prevent any future conflicts in Nigeria.
