En los últimos tiempos ha tenido lugar una eclosión de trabajos que centran su interés en la problemática de las tierras señoriales. En el ámbito valenciano, el régimen señorial alcanzó un gran desarrollo; todos los autores destacan la importancia, en base a la repercusión social y económica, del hecho de que hasta comienzos del s. XVIII y la disolución del régimen señorial, hay un predominio de las tierras egresadas de la Corona. La expulsión de los moriscos es un aspecto fundamental en la historia del País Valenciano. El Decreto de 9 de abril llevará implícito toda una serie de consecuencias, tanto en el aspecto social como en el económico. Relleu era un lugar de moriscos que quedó prácticamente despoblado tras la expulsión. En el presente artículo intentaremos analizar las repercusiones demográficas y sociales del Decreto en el lugar de Relleu.

In this work, a new methodology for the synthesis of well-defined metallic nanoparticles supported on silica is described. This methodology is based on the surface control provided by SOMC. The nanoparticles are formed via the organometallic approach and are catalytically active in the hydrogenation of p-xylene, 3-hexyne, 4-phenyl-2 butanone, benzaldehyde, and furfural. Background: Siphonophores are diverse, globally distributed hydrozoans that play a central role in marine trophic webs worldwide. However, they still constitute an understudied fraction of the open ocean gelatinous taxa, mainly due to challenges related to siphonophore sampling and identification, which have led to a general knowledge gap about their diversity, distribution and abundance., Methods: Here, we provide a global overview of the oceanic vertical distribution of siphonophores using DNA metabarcoding data from 77 bulk mesozooplankton samples collected at four different depth ranges (0-200, 200-500, 500-1000, 1000-3000 m depth) along the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans during the MALASPINA-2010 circumnavigation expedition., Results: We detected a total of 44 siphonophore species (which represents about one quarter of the described siphonophore species) from which 26 corresponded to Calycophores, 14 to Physonectae and 2 to Cystonectae. Our results suggest wider horizontal and vertical distributions of siphonophore species than previously described, including novel records of some species in certain oceanic basins. Also, we provide insights into the intraspecific variation of widely distributed species. Finally, we show a vertical structuring of siphonophores along the water column; Calycophores (siphonophores without pneumatophores) dominated the epipelagic (from the surface to 200 m depth) and upper mesopelagic layers (from 200 to 500 m depth), while the proportion Physonectids (siphonophores with pneumatophore) notably increased below 500 meters and were dominant at bathypelagic depths (>1000 m depth)., Conclusions: Our results support that the siphonophore community composition is vertically structured. Also, we provide insights into the potential existence of genetic variations within certain species that dominate some ocean basins or depth ranges. This research presents a dual-pronged bibliometric and systematic review of the integration of phase change materials (PCM) in asphalt pavements to counteract the urban heat island (UHI) effect. The bibliometric approach discerns the evolution of PCM-inclusion asphalt research, highlighting a marked rise in the number of publications between 2019 and 2022. Notably, Chang'an University in China has emerged as a leading contributor. The systematic review addresses key questions like optimal PCM types for UHI effect mitigation, strategies for PCM leakage prevention in asphalt, and effects on mechanical properties. The findings identify polyethylene glycols (PEGs), especially PEG2000 and PEG4000, as prevailing PCM due to their wide phase-change temperature range and significant enthalpy during phase transitions. While including PCM can modify asphalt's mechanical attributes, such mixtures typically stay within performance norms. Plastic debris is thought to be widespread in freshwater ecosystems globally 1 . However, a lack of comprehensive and comparable data makes rigorous assessment of its distribution challenging 2,3 . Here we present a standardized cross-national survey that assesses the abundance and type of plastic debris (>250 μm) in freshwater ecosystems. We sample surface waters of 38 lakes and reservoirs, distributed across gradients of geographical position and limnological attributes, with the aim to identify factors associated with an increased observation of plastics. We find plastic debris in all studied lakes and reservoirs, suggesting that these ecosystems play a key role in the plastic-pollution cycle. Our results indicate that two types of lakes are particularly vulnerable to plastic contamination: lakes and reservoirs in densely populated and urbanized areas and large lakes and reservoirs with elevated deposition areas, long water-retention times and high levels of anthropogenic influence. Plastic concentrations vary widely among lakes; in the most polluted, concentrations reach or even exceed those reported in the subtropical oceanic gyres, marine areas collecting large amounts of debris 4 . Importance: People with serious mental illness (SMI), defined as a diagnosis of schizophrenia spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, or disabling major depressive disorder) die approximately 10 to 25 years earlier than the general population., Objective: To develop the first-ever lived experience-led research agenda to address early mortality in people with SMI., Evidence Review: A virtual 2-day roundtable comprising 40 individuals convened on May 24 and May 26, 2022, and used a virtual Delphi method to arrive at expert group consensus. Participants responded to 6 rounds of virtual Delphi discussion via email that prioritized research topics and agreement on recommendations. The roundtable was composed of individuals with lived experience of mental health and/or substance misuse, peer support specialists, recovery coaches, parents and caregivers of people with SMI, researchers and clinician-scientists with and without lived experience, policy makers, and patient-led organizations. Twenty-two of 28 (78.6%) of the authors who provided data represented people with lived experiences. Roundtable members were selected by reviewing the peer-reviewed and gray literature on early mortality and SMI, direct email, and snowball sampling., Findings: The following recommendations are presented in order of priority as identified by the roundtable participants: (1) improve the empirical understanding of the direct and indirect social and biological contributions of trauma on morbidity and early mortality; (2) advance the role of family, extended families, and informal supporters; (3) recognize the importance of co-occurring disorders and early mortality; (4) redefine clinical education to reduce stigma and support clinicians through technological advancements to improve diagnostic accuracy; (5) examine outcomes meaningful to people with an SMI diagnosis, such as loneliness and sense of belonging, and stigma and their complex relationship with early mortality; (6) advance the science of pharmaceuticals, drug discovery, and choice in medication use; (7) use precision medicine to inform treatment; and (8) redefine the terms system literacy and health literacy., Conclusions and Relevance: The recommendations of this roundtable are a starting point for changing practice and highlighting lived experience-led research priorities as an option to move the field forward.

Ru and Rh nanoparticles catalyze the selective H/D exchange in phosphines using D 2 as the deuterium source. The position of the deuterium incorporation is determined by the structure of the P-based substrates, while activity depends on the nature of the metal, the properties of the stabilizing agents, and the type of the substituent on phosphorus. The appropriate catalyst can thus be selected either for the exclusive H/D exchange in aromatic rings or also for alkyl substituents. The selectivity observed in each case provides relevant information on the coordination mode of the ligand. Density functional theory calculations provide insights into the H/D exchange mechanism and reveal a strong influence of the phosphine structure on the selectivity. The isotope exchange proceeds via C-H bond activation at nanoparticle edges. Phosphines with strong coordination through the phosphorus atom such as PPh 3 or PPh 2 Me show preferred deuteration at ortho positions of aromatic rings and at the methyl substituents. This selectivity is observed because the corresponding C-H moieties can interact with the nanoparticle surface while the phosphine is P-coordinated, and the C-H activation results in stable metallacyclic intermediates. For weakly coordinating phosphines such as P( o -tolyl) 3 , the interaction with the nanoparticle can occur directly through phosphine substituents, and then, other deuteration patterns are observed.

A family of dinuclear iron (II) compounds with iminopyridine-based ligands displays selective cytotoxic activity against cancer cell lines. All compounds have IC 50 values 2-6 fold lower than that of cisplatin, and 30-90 fold lower than that of carboplatin for the tumor cell lines assayed. Comparing the IC 50 values between tumor and non-tumor cell lines, the selectivity indexes range from 3.2 to 34, compound 10, [Fe 2 (4) 2 (CH 3 CN) 4 ](BF 4 ) 4 , showing the highest selectivity. Those compounds carrying substituents on the iminopyridine ring show the same cytotoxicity as those without substituents. However, the electronic effects of the substituents on position 6 may be important for the cytotoxicity of the complexes, and consequently for their selectivity. All compounds act over DNA, promoting cuts on both strands in the presence of reactive oxygen species. Since compound 10 presented the highest selectivity, its cytotoxic effect was further characterized. It induces apoptosis, affects cell cycle phase distribution in a cell-dependent manner, and its cytotoxic effect is linked to reactive oxygen species generation. In addition, it decreases tumor cell migration, showing potential antimetastatic effects. These properties make compound 10 a good lead antitumor agent among all compounds studied here.

This paper presents a multi-period multi-objective distributionally robust optimization framework for enhancing the resilience of personal protective equipment (PPE) supply chains against disruptions caused by pandemics. The research is motivated by and addresses the supply chain challenges encountered by a Canadian provincial healthcare provider during the COVID-19 pandemic. Supply, price, and demand of PPE are the uncertain parameters. The ∊ -constraint method is implemented to generate efficient solutions along the trade-off between cost minimization and service level maximization. Decision makers can easily adjust model conservatism through the ambiguity set size parameter. Experiments investigate the effects of model conservatism on optimal procurement decisions such as the portion of the supply base dedicated to long-term fixed contracts. Other types of PPE sources considered by the model are one-time open-market purchases and federal emergency PPE stockpiles. The study recommends that during pandemics health care providers use distributionally robust optimization with the ambiguity set size falling in one of three intervals based on decision makers' relative preferences for average cost performance, worst-case cost performance, or cost variance. The study also highlights the importance of surveillance and early warning systems to allow supply chain decision makers to trigger contingency plans such as locking contracts, reinforcing logistical capacities and drawing from emergency stockpiles.
