However, less is known about the reason for the association between early material hardship and PMPU. One possibility is that early hardship is a stressor that negatively affects brain structure, increasing the risk for PMPU. In testing this model, we also took into account the possible mitigating effect of strong parent-child attachment in this risk process. Participants were 45 young adults aged 18 to 23 years old who completed questionnaires to assess early material hardship, PMPU, and parental attachment. Deficits in brain structure were measured by estimating grey matter volume (GMV) using a voxel-based morphometry method via structural magnetic resonance imaging. Results revealed a significant association between early exposure to family material hardship and decreased GMV in right ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC), left orbital inferior frontal cortex (orbIFC) and left middle cingulate cortex (MCC). Importantly, subsequent structural equation modeling showed that decreased GMV within vmPFC fully mediated the association between high family material hardship and PMPU. Furthermore, stronger parental attachment mitigated the risk of decreases in vmPFC volume on PMPU following early exposure to family material hardship.

208. HYDRA: Hypergradient Data Relevance Analysis for Interpreting Deep Neural Networks

Abstract

The behaviors of deep neural networks (DNNs) are notoriously resistant to human interpretations. In this paper, we propose Hypergradient Data Relevance Analysis, or HYDRA, which interprets the predictions made by DNNs as effects of their training data. Existing approaches generally estimate data contributions around the final model parameters and ignore how the training data shape the optimization trajectory. By unrolling the hypergradient of test loss w.r.t. the weights of training data, HYDRA assesses the contribution of training data toward test data points throughout the training trajectory. In order to accelerate computation, we remove the Hessian from the calculation and prove that, under moderate conditions, the approximation error is bounded. Corroborating this theoretical claim, empirical results indicate the error is indeed small. In addition, we quantitatively demonstrate that HYDRA outperforms influence functions in accurately estimating data contribution and detecting noisy data labels. Abstract

We investigate the optimal portfolio deleveraging (OPD) problem with permanent and temporary price impacts, where the objective is to maximize equity while meeting a prescribed debt/equity requirement. We take the real situation with cross impact among different assets into consideration. The resulting problem is, however, a non-convex quadratic program with a quadratic constraint and a box constraint, which is known to be NP-hard. In this paper, we first develop a successive convex optimization (SCO) approach for solving the OPD problem and show that the SCO algorithm converges to a KKT point of its transformed problem. Second, we propose an effective global algorithm for the OPD problem, which integrates the SCO method, simple convex relaxation and a branch-and-bound framework, to identify a global optimal solution to the OPD problem within a pre-specified $\epsilon$-tolerance. We establish the global convergence of our algorithm and estimate its complexity. We also conduct numerical experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms with both the real data and the randomly generated medium- and large-scale OPD problem instances.

Abstract

High-dimensional quantum entanglement is currently one of the most prolific fields in quantum information processing due to its high information capacity and error resilience. A versatile method for harnessing high-dimensional entanglement has long been hailed as an absolute necessity in the exploration of quantum science and technologies. Here we exploit Hong-Ou-Mandel interference to manipulate discrete frequency entanglement in arbitrary-dimensional Hilbert space. The generation and characterization of two-, four- and six-dimensional frequency entangled qudits are theoretically and experimentally investigated, allowing for the estimation of entanglement dimensionality in the whole state space. Additionally, our strategy can be generalized to engineer higher-dimensional entanglement in other photonic degrees of freedom. Our results may provide a more comprehensive understanding of frequency shaping and interference phenomena, and pave the way to more complex high-dimensional quantum information processing protocols.

Abstract

The Bell basis, a set of maximally entangled biphoton state, is a critical prerequisite towards quantum information processing, and many quantum applications have highlighted the requirement for the manipulation of high-dimensional Bell basis. While the Bell states can be created by using ingenious single-photon quantum gates, its implementation complexity in higher dimensions is significantly increased. Here we present an elaborate approach to show that the adaptive pump modulation enable the efficient preparation of Bell basis in arbitrary-dimensional Hilbert space. A complete set of four-dimensional orbital angular momentum Bell states are experimentally created, yielding high fidelities for certifying the entanglement dimensionality. Our strategy can be simply generalized to prepare more complex forms of quantum states even exploiting other physical degrees of freedom. Also, it can facilitate the use of high-dimensional entanglement in a variety of quantum protocols, in particular those requiring quantum dense coding.

250. Think-Tank's Text Summarization Based on Combined Keywords and Contrastive Learning Training

Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] Think tank reports are professional analysis and policy recommendations provided by independent research institutions, which provide decision support and an important tool for policy makers and the public to promote social progress. The purpose of think tank report summary is to provide readers with a concise and clear overview, so that they can quickly understand the main content and conclusion of the report, so as to improve the efficiency of information screening, dissemination effect and knowledge transfer. At present, there are many differences in the think tank reports, which leads to inaccurate summaries. It is urgent to improve the existing text summarization methods. This paper focuses on the characteristics of think tank reports in the context of multi-topic text summarization technology. [Method/Process] Aiming at the problem that the existing models have poor effect on the summarization of think tank reports, not only the crawler technology was used to construct a think tank report dataset, but also a report summarization method was proposed using the "combined keywords" search method.. First, a keyword extraction algorithm was used to extract the keyword information in the original text. Second, a "combined keywords" search module based on cross-attention mechanism was used to improve the model's ability to capture the topic information in the text and help improve the accuracy of the summary generated by the model. Finally, in order to avoid excessive attention to keywords while ignoring the overall information of a think tank report, a contrastive learning training method was designed in the training process. [Results/Conclusions] The experimental results show that the Rouge-1, Rouge-2 and Rouge-L values of the think tank report summarization model reached 48.23, 32.55 and 42.50, respectively. The summarization model with the "combined keywords" search method proposed in this study can effectively solve the problem of inaccurate summarization caused by multi-topic texts, and the text summarization effect of the model in the field of think tank reports is better than other similar models. In addition, ablation experiments were used to prove the effectiveness of the "combined keywords" search module and contrastive learning training. There are still some shortcomings of this paper. For example, this study does not explore the location and frequency information of keywords. In addition, we will adjust the weight of keywords according to their position, frequency and importance in the text, and further expand the think tank report summary dataset.
