Il contenimento dei costi di produzione dell’uva è un tema cruciale nella conduzione delle aziende vitivinicole che devono ormai fronteggiare una concorrenza sempre più accesa. I costi di produzione sono tuttavia influenzati da numerosi fattori tra cui la varietà, la forma di allevamento, la resa, il livello di meccanizzazione e l’obiettivo qualitativo della produzione. L’articolo documenta un’indagine esplorativa di queste relazioni in un contesto aziendale specifico e mette in evidenza come la ricerca di una più elevata qualità tende a determinare un importante aumento dei costi il cui controllo richiede attenzione e sforzi di ricerca.

The increased environmental awareness is affecting the food supply chain since food system emissions represents a big share (from 19% to 29%) of total greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon emissions reduction target represents a global challenge gaining the headlines around the world and pushing academic scientists to discuss actively possible technical innovations, economic consequences and environmental benefits. However, carbon footprint estimates largely differ across the literature, even though they refer to the same food product, involving the same production processes. The present paper addresses explicitly the latter drawback, implementing a meta-analysis focused on fresh vegetables chain. The objective is assessing the uncertainty of "Carbon footprint" estimates, seeking a meaningful statistical description of the findings of a vast collection of studies. This paper discusses how to develop and manage integration, coordination and cooperation in bio-energy supply chains. Farmers decisions on whether or not to participate in a contract farming scheme have been investigated, particularly assessing the trade-offs between the contract attributes and their impact on the likelihood to participate. A stated preference model was implemented where respondents were asked to choose between alternative contracts with varying attribute levels to start biomass cultivation. Results show that participation is mainly influenced by minimum price guaranteed, contract length, and re-negotiation before the end of a contract.

By means of cost-benefit analysis, we assess whether it is worth introducing a traceability protocol in Italy, which allows to ascertain the area of origin of early potatoes. Until recently, early potato was a major export product in southern Italy. However, in the last ten years the sector has clearly stagnated. Our study seems to show that a country-of-origin labelling (COOL) policy - if appropriately implemented - could make this product competitive once again.

L’evoluzione e le dinamiche del sistema vitivinicolo italiano stanno vivendo un considerevole mutamento dovuto principalmente ad un contesto internazionale sempre più globalizzato e competitivo. Al fine di comprendere le prospettive recenti del settore e poterne delineare gli scenari futuri è necessario analizzare, tra gli altri, il comparto produttivo. In questo studio si esplora il database RICA-Inea al fine di comprendere le componenti che determinano le condizioni di variabilità dei costi e della redditività dei fattori che, frequentemente, scaturiscono in situazioni di non piena remunerazione delle risorse impiegate. I risultati evidenziano un marcato legame tra dimensione aziendale, natura delle produzioni e costo di produzione.
