Los cuadros sistémicos incluyen a las entidades de naturaleza infecciosa, (viral, bacteriana o parasitaria con activa multiplicación en sangre y órganos internos) o metabólicas que afectan a múltiples órganos y que se manifiestan desde el punto de vista funcional por taquicardia, reducción de la presión sanguínea, hipo o hipertermia e hipo o hiperleucocitemia culminando en falla multisistémica y shock. El objetivo de este trabajo es aportar a la discusión sobre la responsabilidad, pero reconstruyendo la perspectiva del filósofo español-mexicano Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez, pues, por un lado, llama la atención que se plantee la existencia de la responsabilidad social corporativa como algo que existiera de facto, como si fuera una relación de la cual se parte. De hecho, los problemas sociales, ecológicos y económicos a partir de los que se plantea la necesidad de la responsabilidad social corporativa no están resueltos y muchas veces ni siquiera los teóricos lo pueden plantear en las reflexiones que realizan. Por otro lado, hay quienes se atreven a plantear una agenda latinoamericana desde el mundo empresarial y desconociendo la realidad de los pueblos del sur global. Para superar estas dos carencias aquí se reconstruye hermenéuticamente los aspectos centrales que debería considerar toda reflexión sobre la responsabilidad: las contradicciones que produce el capitalismo, las posibles formas de superar dichas contradicciones y los mecanismos que no se pueden dejar de lado en dicha superación. Se discute también el ámbito de la responsabilidad, no es una relación vertical de arriba hacia abajo, sino abajo, de forma horizontal y de ahí con respaldo teórico y la necesidad de la acción para que de abajo vaya hacia arriba, a través de la praxis.

Species diversification in ancient lakes has enabled essential insights into evolutionary theory as they embody an evolutionary microcosm compared to continental terrestrial habitats. We have studied the high-altitude amphipods of the Andes Altiplano using mitogenomic, nuclear ribosomal and single-copy nuclear gene sequences obtained from 36 Hyalella genomic libraries, focusing on species of the Lake Titicaca and other water bodies of the Altiplano northern plateau. Results show that early Miocene South American lineages have recently (late Pliocene or early Pleistocene) diversified in the Andes with a striking morphological convergence among lineages. This pattern is consistent with the ecological opportunities (access to unoccupied resources, initial relaxed selection on ecologically-significant traits and low competition) offered by the lacustrine habitats established after the Andean uplift., Our work is supported by the Spanish MINECO Grant CGL2016-76164-P, financed by the Agencia Española de Investigación (AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). The use of ICS in patients with COPD has been associated with the development of pneumonia although its role in the development of chronic bronchial infection (CBI) is unknown.Patients with COPD and severe obstruction have a higher risk of infection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa(PsA)and other potentially pathogenic bacteria (PPB),that when repeated,lead to CBI.Objective:to investigate if there is an association between the use of ICS and the development of recurrent respiratory infections(RRI) in patients with severe COPD and frequent exacerbations.Methods: an observational retrospective study of patients with COPD admitted to hospital due to severe exacerbation and at least 1 sputum culture with PsA growth in sputum culture that were followed-up after admission.The association with the use and dose of ICS in patients with RRI CBI defined as more than 3 isolates in sputum of PsA or other PPB during follow-up was investigated.Results:98 patients admitted for COPD exacerbation and PsA growth in sputum culture were identified between 2012 and 2017, with a mean age of 73.3±8.6 years and a post-bronchodilator FEV1 of 39(30.5 - 52.5)%.Although 88.7% of these patients were receiving ICS, and had a tendency to have more exacerbations (Med),interquartile range(5 (3-10)vs.3(1-5.5),p=0.051).Patients who had more than 3 positive cultures for PPB were being treated more frequently with ICS(94.3%vs.82.2%,p=0.009)and had a higher number of exacerbations(Med, RIC)(7(4-12)vs4(2-6),p=0.001).Conclusions:COPD patients with RRI due to PPB have severe obstruction, use more frequently ICS and suffer more exacerbations.So it should be investigated if there is a causal relationship.

Habanero pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) does not have a specific fertilization. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate growth, photosynthesis and accumulation of macro and micronutrients of habanero pepper plants. Plants were established in nutrient film technique (NFT) hydroponic systems. Two universal balanced solutions (Steiner and Hoagland) were compared versus a conventional solution (control: Soria solution). The concentration of macro and micronutrients in roots, stems, and leaves, photosynthetic activity of plants, total nitrate, amino acid and protein contents, and growth parameters were evaluated. According to the results, concentrations of K, Mg, Ca, Cu and Zn in plant tissues were higher in the Steiner and Hoagland treatments than control. In addition, the Steiner and Hoagland treatments increased the maximum photosynthetic rate (Amax) (81% and 80% respectively), light-saturated CO2 assimilation rate (Asat) (3.8-fold and 3-fold, respectively) and maximum catalytic activities of Rubisco (Vcmax) (51% and 30% respectively) with respect to the control. Hoagland treatment increased total nitrate content (3.66 mg g-1 FW), but Steiner treatment increased amino acids in leaves (169.97 mg g-1 FW) and control increased total proteins (1.49 mg g-1 FW). Steiner and Hoagland solutions significantly increased plant height (59% and 41% respectively), leaf area (1.26-fold and 1.02-fold, respectively), and total dry mass (80% and 69% respectively) with respect to the control solution. The results suggest that Steiner and Hoagland nutrient solutions provided nutrients that improve growth and photosynthetic activity. Moreover, total nitrate, amino acid and protein accumulation depend on the N source employed in nutrient solutions.

Over the last 30 years, diseases caused by emerging swine viruses (ESV) have acquired great relevance, more than in other species. Diseases caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSv), high pathogenicity porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDv), porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2), and influenza virus H1N1pdm09 had great economic impact. Others, however, such as porcine enteroviruses, porcine toroviruses (PToV), porcine sapelovirus (PSV), porcine bocavirus (PBoV), porcine kobuvirus (PKBV), and porcine Torque teno sus virus (TTSuV) are mostly subclinical in swine herds. Furthermore, novel emerging viruses, such as SENECA virus, atypical porcine pestivirus (APPV), PCV-3, SADS-CoV, influenza D, and others with regional or worldwide distribution constitute a new challenge for researchers and practicing veterinarians. Uno de los problemas fitosanitarios en el cultivo de chile es la mosca blanca, transmisor de begomovirus. Ante la necesidad de alternativas, se planteó el objetivo de evaluar la tolerancia de injertos de Capsicum chinense-Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum a begomovirus bajo condiciones de campo. Se utilizaron dos materiales criollos para portainjerto (amashito y muela) y chile habanero como injerto (criollo y jaguar). Se empleó la injertación de “púa terminal” y se generaron seis tratamientos. Se registraron cada 10 días las poblaciones de mosca blanca, la incidencia y severidad de la enfermedad, con esta última se calcularon ABCDE, tasa de infección aparente y Yfinal. En etapa de producción, se determinó rendimiento, longitud y diámetro de frutos. A los 130 días después del trasplante, la menor población de mosca blanca, se cuantificó en los tratamientos injertados (muela + habanero jaguar, amashito + habanero jaguar, muela + habanero criollo y amashito + habanero criollo) que osciló entre 5.5 a 14.5 insectos por planta. La mayor incidencia y severidad promedio de virosis fue en habanero jaguar con 100 y 62%. La menor ABCPE, tasa de infección aparente y Yfinal se estimaron en muela + habanero criollo con 746.6 (% por día), 0.005 (% por día) y 23.4%, en su orden; asociado con la fortaleza genética del portainjerto. Los injertos amashito + habanero jaguar, amashito + habanero criollo y muela + habanero criollo mostraron mejor comportamiento agronómico y productividad del cultivo.

In the current scenario of high antibiotic resistance, the search for therapeutic options against Pseudomonas aeruginosa must be approached from different perspectives: cell-wall biology as source of bacterial weak points and our immune system as source of weapons. Our recent study suggests that once the permeability barrier has been overcome, the activity of our cell-wall-targeting immune proteins is notably enhanced, more in mutants with impaired peptidoglycan recycling. The present work aims at analyzing the activity of these proteins [lysozyme and Peptidoglycan-Recognition-Proteins (PGLYRPs)], alone or with a permeabilizer (subinhibitory colistin) in clinical strains, along with other features related to the cell-wall. We compared the most relevant and complementary scenarios: acute (bacteremia) and chronic infections [early/late isolates from lungs of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients]. Although a low activity of lysozyme/PGLYRPs per se (except punctual highly susceptible strains) was found, the colistin addition significantly increased their activity regardless of the strains' colistin resistance levels. Our results show increased susceptibility in late CF isolates, suggesting that CF adaptation renders P. aeruginosa more vulnerable to proteins targeting the cell-wall. Thus, our work suggests that attacking some P. aeruginosa cell-wall biology-related elements to increase the activity of our innate weapons could be a promising therapeutic strategy.

El Valle Argentino, La Pampa, Argentina, se encuentra en una zona con características de subhúmedas a semiáridas y el agua subterránea constituye la única fuente de suministro posible. En consecuencia, destaca la enorme importancia que los recursos tienen para la vida y el desarrollo de la región. Con base en la metodología de Lepeltier (1969), en este trabajo se determinó el fondo geoquímico con un valor de 17.3 mg/l y un umbral (t) de 45.9 mg/l, valores que indican factores de intervención antrópica en la concentración de nitrato en el agua subterránea del área estudiada. Los datos observados evidencian una contaminación embrionaria por nitratos en el área de recarga, fundamentalmente por la actividad urbana –sin saneamiento– y la rural –a causa de la actividad ganadera y, en menor medida, por fertilizantes, lo cual pondría en serio riesgo la calidad del agua debido a las características hidrogeológicas del acuífero. The Argentine Valley, La Pampa, Argentina, is located in an area with sub-humid to semi-arid characteristics and groundwater is the only possible source of supply. Consequently, the enormous importance that resources have for the life and development of the region is highlighted. In this work, the geochemical background with a value of 17.3 mg/l and a threshold (t) of 45.9 mg/l was determined (using the methodology of Lepeltier, 1969), which indicates anthropic intervention in nitrate concentration in the groundwater of the studied area. According to the data observed, an embryonic contamination by nitrates is evidenced in the recharge area, mainly by urban activity without sanitation and rural by livestock activity, and incipient by fertilizers, which would seriously jeopardize the water quality of the aquifer, due to its hydrogeological characteristics. The physicochemical properties, proximate composition, minerals, total polyphenols, carotenoids, phenolic compounds, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities of ciricote (Cordia dodecandra A. DC.) tropical fruit were investigated. Minerals were quantified by using micro-Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence. Lutein and β-carotene were identified in ciricote fruit by using UPLC-PDA analysis. The highest values of the total polyphenols content and antioxidant activity were presented in ethanolic crude extracts obtaining by the ultrasonic-assisted method with freeze-dried fruit. The phenolic acids profile was identified and quantified by UPLC-PDA-ESI-MS. The main phenolic acids were caffeoyl hexoside, rufescenolide, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, and rosmarinic acid. The ciricote extracts presented antibacterial activity against Staphylococus aureus (Gram+) and Salmonella typhymurium (Gram−). In conclusion, the ciricote (Cordia dodecandra A. DC.) tropical fruits could be very useful source of biological macromolecules, micro-elements, and phytochemical compounds for the food and pharmaceutical industry.

La presente investigación titulada: Competencias digitales y gestión pedagógica docente en una universidad privada de Lima norte, tuvo como objetivo general determinar si existe relación entre la competencia digital docente y la gestión pedagógica docente en una universidad privada de Lima norte. El método empleado fue hipotético deductivo, el tipo de investigación fue básica de nivel correlacional, de enfoque cuantitativo; de diseño no experimental: transversal. La población estuvo formada por 45 docentes, la muestra fue censal cubriendo toda la población de docentes y el muestreo fue de tipo no probabilístico. La técnica empleada para recolectar información fue encuesta y los instrumentos de recolección de datos fueron cuestionarios, que fueron debidamente validados a través de juicios de expertos y determinado su confiabilidad a través del estadístico de fiabilidad Alfa de Cronbach; obteniendo 0,955 para el instrumento competencia digital docente y 0,896 para el instrumento gestión pedagógica docente. Se llegaron a las siguientes conclusiones: Existe relación entre gestión pedagógica docente y la competencia digital, competencia técnica, competencia informacional-comunicativa, competencia educativa, competencia analítica y competencia social-ética en los docentes de una universidad privada de Lima norte, ya que se comprobó mediante el valor de p al ser menor que 0,05 y obteniendo el rho = 0,340 según la estadística de Spearman, por lo tanto se rechaza la hipótesis nula y se confirma la alterna. El CENAN realiza estudios para determinar la disponibilidad, acceso y consumo de harina de trigo y sus derivados, así como para la medición del impacto del programa de fortificación de harina de trigo.

The amphi-Atlantic distributions exhibited by many thalassoid stygobiont (obligate subterranean) crustaceans have been explained by fragmentation by plate tectonics of ancestral shallow water marine populations. The amphipod stygobiont genus Pseudoniphargus is distributed across the Mediterranean region but also in the North Atlantic archipelagos of Bermuda, Azores, Madeira and the Canaries. We used species delimitation methods and mitogenome phylogenetic analyses to clarify the species diversity and evolutionary relationships within the genus and timing their diversification. Analyses included samples from the Iberian Peninsula, northern Morocco, the Balearic, Canarian, Azores and Madeira archipelagoes plus Bermuda. In most instances, morphological and molecular-based species delimitation analyses yielded consistent results. Notwithstanding, in a few cases either incipient speciation with no involvement of detectable morphological divergence or species crypticism were the most plausible explanations for the disagreement found between morphological and molecular species delimitations. Phylogenetic analyses based on a robust calibrated mitochondrial tree suggested that Pseudoniphargus lineages have a younger age than for other thalassoid amphipods displaying a disjunct distribution embracing both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. A major split within the family was estimated to occur at the Paleocene, when a lineage from Northern Iberian Peninsula diverged from the rest of pseudoniphargids. Species diversification in the peri-Mediterranean area was deduced to occur in early Miocene to Tortonian times, while in the Atlantic islands it started in the Pliocene. Our results show that the current distribution pattern of Pseudoniphargus resulted from a complex admix of relatively ancient vicariance events and several episodes of long- distance dispersal.
