The quantitative characterization of the thermal conditions in the Tibetan Plateau has long been a focal point of global research. Downward shortwave radiation, as a crucial component, plays an important role in numerous land surface processes while also serving as a significant indicator of the plateau's thermal state. In order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the Earth's radiation budget in the Tibetan Plateau region, this study undertook an evaluation of six radiation products (ISCCP-FH, CERES-SYN, GLASS DSR, Himawari-8, MCD18A1, and ERA5). Two sets of ground measurements (downward shortwave radiation values from 10 CMA sites and 6 sites provided by the National Tibetan Plateau Data Center) in 2015 and 2016 were used as validation data to verify the accuracy of the remote sensing products. The results show that in the Tibetan Plateau region, CERESC products show the highest accuracy among the six data products with a bias (relative bias) of −7.57 W/m2 (3.46%), RMSE (relative RMSE) of 32.77 W/m2 (14.99%), and coefficient of determination of 0.80. Among all products, only the ERA5 products overestimated the value of downward shortwave radiation in the Tibetan Plateau region with a bias (relative bias) of 15.62 W/m2 (7.14%). By employing a spatial resolution upscaling approach, we assessed the influence of varying spatial resolutions on the validation accuracy, with the results indicating minimal impact. Through an analysis of the impact of cloud factors and aerosol factors on the validation accuracy, it is deduced that ERA5, Himawari-8, and MCD18A1 products are significantly influenced by cloud factors, whereas the CERES-SYN product is notably affected by aerosol factors. Purpose: Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP), a common complication in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients, is associated with poor prognosis after AIS. Inflammation plays an important role in the development of SAP. In this study, we aimed to explore the association between the monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and SAP in AIS patients.Methods: We continuously enrolled 972 AIS patients. SAP was diagnosed by two trained neurologists and confirmed by radiography, meeting the modified Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria. MLR values were measured for all participants, and all patients were evenly classified into three tertiles according to the MLR levels. We used the values that Youden's index max points corresponded to represent the optimal cutoffs, which represented the balance in sensitivity and specificity.Results: 104 (10.7%) patients were diagnosed with SAP. SAP patients showed a significant increased (P < 0.001) MLR when compared with non-SAP. The optimal cutoff points of MLR were (T1) 0.3843. The incidence of SAP was significantly higher in the third MLR tertile than the first and second MLR tertiles (21.7 vs. 4 vs. 6.5%, respectively, P < 0.001). After adjusting for confounding and risk factors, multivariate regression analysis showed that the third MLR tertile was an independent variable predicting the occurrence of SAP (odds ratio = 3.503, 95%CI = 1.066–11.515, P = 0.039).Conclusions: Our study showed that higher MLR was significantly associated with SAP in AIS patients. MLR is beneficial for clinicians to recognize patients with a high risk of SAP at an early stage and is an effective way to improve clinical care of SAP patients. Higher MLR could be a helpful and valid biomarker for predicting SAP in clinical practice.

Background: Hemorrhagic transformation (HT) is a frequent, often asymptomatic event that occurs after acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Liver fibrosis, usually subclinical, is common and crucial in the development of liver disease. We aimed to investigate the association between liver fibrosis and HT in patients with AIS.Methods: We performed a single-center and retrospective study. A total of 185 consecutive participants with HT and 199 age- and sex-matched stroke patients without HT were enrolled in this study. We calculated one validated fibrosis index—Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) score—to assess the extent of liver fibrosis. HT was detected by routine CT or MRI and was radiologically classified as hemorrhagic infarction type 1 or 2 or parenchymal hematoma type 1 or 2. HT was also classified into asymptomatic or symptomatic. We used logistic regression models adjusted for previously established risk factors to assess the risks for HT.Results: The median FIB-4 score was significantly higher among patients who developed HT than among those without HT, whereas standard hepatic assays were largely normal. Patients were assigned to groups of high FIB-4 score and low FIB-4 score based on the optimal cutoff value. Compared with the subjects in the low-FIB-4-score group, incidence of HT for the high-FIB-4-score group was significantly higher. After adjustment for potential confounders, the patients with high FIB-4 score had 3.461-fold risk of HT in AIS compared to the patients with low FIB-4 score [odds ratio, 3.461 (95% CI, 1.404–8.531)].Conclusion: Liver fibrosis, measured by FIB-4 score, was independently associated with the risk of HT in AIS patients.

Top quality of grape (Vitis vinifera L.) berries is essential for producing delicious and customer-favorite wine. Thus, the optimal application of mineral fertilizers is important and necessary. Here, a standard drip-irrigation protocol with five different mineral fertilizer (F) treatments- C0 kg/ha (control), F1 245 kg/ha, F2 490 kg/ha, F3 735 kg/ha and F4 980 kg/ha were laid out in a split-plot design to evaluate their effects on grapevine factors which included shoot growth, berry weight and size, and berry sugar, acid, phenolics and volatiles. The experiment was conducted at the Wuwei Academic Forest Science Center during 2017. The results showed that all fertilizer applications significantly promoted shoot growth. Fruit weight and size increased under F2 and F3 treatments. In addition, soluble solids and reducing sugars grew up under F3 treatment. However, sugar-acid ratios did not differ significantly among all F treatments but phenolic and tannin levels were increased under F3 treatment, as were anthocyanin levels under F1, F2 and F3 treatments. A total of 83 different aroma components were identified in all the F treatments. These were clustered into seven groups. The total amount of aroma components tended to increase, then to decrease with increasing rates of fertilization (from C to F4).The results indicate that mineral fertilizer application has complex effects on the berry quality factors that were evaluated.

Abstract Backgrounds Long non-coding RNA (LncRNA) have been reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, but whether it can serve as a biomarker for Alzheimer disease (AD) is not yet known. Methods The present study selected four specific LncRNA (17A, 51A, BACE1 and BC200) as possible AD biomarker. RT-qPCR was performed to validate the LncRNA. Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) and area under the ROC curve (AUC) were applied to study the potential of LncRNA as a biomarker in a population of 88 AD patients and 72 control individuals. Results We found that the plasma LncRNA BACE1 level of AD patients was significantly higher than that of healthy controls (p = 0.006). Plasma level of LncRNA 17A, 51A and BC200 did not show a significant difference between two groups (p = 0.098, p = 0.204 and p = 0.232, respectively). ROC curve analysis showed that LncRNA BACE1 was the best candidate of these LncRNA (95% CI: 0.553–0.781, p = 0.003). In addition, no correlation was found for expression of these LncRNA in both control and AD groups with age or MMSE scale (p > 0.05). Conclusions Our present study compared the plasma level of four LncRNA between AD and non-AD patients, and found that the level of the BACE1 is increased in the plasma of AD patients and have a high specificity (88%) for AD, indicating BACE1 may be a potential candidate biomarker to predict AD.

The complete mitogenome sequence of Crocidura tanakae was determined using long PCR. The genome was 16,969 bp in length and contained 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 1 origin of L strand replication and 1 control region. The overall base composition of the heavy strand is A (32.5%), C (22.3%), T (31.9%), and G (13.3%). The base compositions present clearly the A–T skew, which is most obviously in the control region and protein-coding genes. Mitochondrial genome analyses based on MP, ML, NJ, and Bayesian analyses yielded identical phylogenetic trees. The five Crocidura species formed a monophyletic group with the high bootstrap value (100%) in all examinations. This study verifies the evolutionary status of C. tanakae in Soricidae at the molecular level. The mitochondrial genome would be a significant supplement for the C. tanakae genetic background.

The overall base composition of the heavy strand is A (33.7%), C (22.8%), T (30.5%), and G (13.0%). The base compositions present clearly the A–T skew, which is most obviously in the control region and protein-coding genes. Mitochondrial genome analyses based on MP, ML, NJ, and Bayesian analyses yielded identical phylogenetic trees. Results of phylogenetic analysis showed that Cricetulus had close relationship with Meriones. This study verifies the evolutionary status of the striped hamster in Cricetulus at the molecular level. The mitochondrial genome would be a significant supplement for the striped hamster genetic background. Results of phylogenetic analysis showed that the striped hamster had close relationship with C. griseus in Cricetulus.

The overall base composition of the heavy strand is A (32.8%), C (24.4%), T (29.8%), and G (13.0%). The base compositions present clearly the A–T skew, which is most obviously in the control region and protein-coding genes. Mitochondrial genome analyses based on MP, ML, NJ, and Bayesian analyses yielded identical phylogenetic trees. Chodsigoa hoffmanni is the first species to have been reported on the mitochondrial genome in Chodsigoa genus. This study verifies the evolutionary status of C. hoffmanni in Soricidae at the molecular level. The mitochondrial genome would be a significant supplement for the C. hoffmanni genetic background.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of age on the association between maternal body mass index (BMI) and cumulative live birth rates (CLBRs) following in vitro fertilization treatment. Method: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 26 567 women undergoing in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection from 2016 to 2019. We conducted multivariate regression analysis of the association between CLBRs and maternal BMI and age category. Results: A total of 16 626 (62.58%) patients achieved a live birth. Women with obesity had significantly decreased CLBRs compared with women who had normal weight (odds ratio [OR] 0.73 [95% confidence interval (CI), 0.66–0.80]). The significant interaction between age and BMI suggested that the impact of BMI on CLBRs was moderated by women's age (P interaction <0.001). The association between obesity and CLBRs was inverse among women aged <30 years (OR, 0.63 [95% CI, 0.54–0.73]), 30 to 34 years (OR, 0.79 [95% CI, 0.67–0.93]), and 35 to 37 years (OR, 0.71 [95% CI, 0.52–0.98]); however, decreases in CLBRs with obesity were not observed in women aged 38 to 40 years (OR, 1.17 [95% CI, 0.70–1.94]) and ≥ 41 years (OR, 1.25 [95% CI, 0.53–2.96]). Conclusion: Maternal obesity was significantly associated with a lower likelihood of having a live birth, but the risk differed according to women's age. A higher BMI might have a less‐pronounced detrimental effect with increasing age. Synopsis: Obesity is associated with lower likelihood of having a live birth; however, high body mass index seems to have a less pronounced detrimental effect with increasing age. We evaluated if elective single-blastocyst transfer (eSBT) could be adopted in women aged 36 or older. In this retrospective cohort, women aged ≥36 years received IVF ovarian stimulation cycles and had ≥ two blastocysts. A total of 240 women underwent eSBT and 189 double-blastocyst transfer (DBT) in the first transfer cycle. The subsequent frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles were a combination of single- and double- blastocyst transfers. Analysis was stratified for patients in age groups 36–37, 38–39 and ≥40, considering the quality of the blastocyst transferred. The cumulative live birth rates (cLBR) were 74.2% (178/240) versus 63.0% (119/189) after eSBT versus DBT, respectively (aOR: 1.09 (0.68, 1.75)). Time to live birth did not vary significantly between the two groups (HR: 0.85 (0.68, 1.08)). The total number of children born was 194 after eSBT (162 singletons and 16 pairs of twins) versus 154 (84 singletons and 35 twins) after DBT. The odds ratios for preterm birth (0.37 (0.21–0.64)), and low birth weight (0.31 (0.16, 0.60)) were all lower in eSBT. In women aged ≥36 years, cLBR following single- versus double- blastocyst transfer was comparable while the odds of multiple live births and adverse perinatal outcomes were reduced.
