Over the past years, the tea industry in India has started to suffer from various drawbacks, i.e. issues regarding low productivity and rising input costs (namely the uneconomic age profile of tea bushes across the tea estates of North Bengal), leading to a decline in the industry and dramatic expansion of small tea growers. Accordingly, the vast expansion of small tea plantations in North Bengal prompted this study to examine the purpose and outcome of such an expansion concept. In the present study, Bhotepatty, Maynaguri (the Jalpaiguri district), was considered due to an immense conversion of agricultural land into numerous small tea plantations in the region. The study focuses on the agricultural shift from potato fields to small tea gardens. Initially, a cumulative approach encompassing the preliminary survey work and analysis of soil physicochemical characteristics was adopted to assess the adequacy of this agricultural shift. The survey conducted revealed the lack of proper land preparation, land rehabilitation before planting, sound soil nutrient management, and soil testing programs after shifting (responsible for the depletion of major nutrients such as potassium and phosphorus in the tea soil, which can be resolved with proper and timely manuring practices). Sulphur and the organic matter, organic carbon and available nitrogen of the top soil were detected in huge amounts compared to the optimum values suggested by the Tea Board of India.

The rheological properties of three biodegradable partially crystalline alipathic polyesters--poly [Epsilon] caprolactone (PCL), polylactic acid (PLA), and polyhydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate (PHBV)--were investigated. Low shear viscosity ([Eta]), first normal stress difference ([N.sub.1]), and dynamic properties (G' and G'), were measured for each polymer using rotational instruments. High shear viscosity data was obtained using a capillary rheometer. Gel permeation chromatography indicates that both PLA and PHBV undergo degradation during processing. Thermal degradation rate constants for PLA and PHBV were determined from the time-sweep data. Data indicates that material functions are proportional to the molecular weight for PCL and PLA samples, and directly related to the HV content in the PHBV samples. The relaxation spectra were calculated from the G' and G' data using the regularization method and the applicability of the nonlinear Wagner equation was checked on these materials. OBJECTIVE: COVID-19 vaccines have developed quickly, and vaccination programs have started in most countries to fight the pandemic. The aging population is vulnerable to different diseases, also including the COVID-19. A high death rate of COVID-19 was noted from the vulnerable aging population. A present scenario regarding COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination program foraging adults had been discussed. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This paper reviews the current status and future projections till 2050 of the aging population worldwide. It also discusses the immunosenescence and inflammaging issues facing elderly adults and how it affects the vaccinations such as influenza, pneumococcal, and herpes zoster. RESULTS: This paper recommends clinical trials for all approved COVID-19 vaccines targeting the elderly adult population and to project a plan to develop a next-generation COVID-19 vaccine. CONCLUSIONS: The review has mapped the COVID-19 vaccination status from the developed and developing countries for the elderly population. The entrance pressure drop during extrusion cooking of corn grits was measured using a cylindrical die viscometer attached to a single screw extruder and compared with results obtained using low-density polyethylene (LDPE). The cylindrical die viscometer had a length to diameter ratio of 40 with half-entry angles of 30, 37.5, 45 and 90 ° with the horizontal. The entrance pressure drop at the die was measured as a function of extrusion temperature, product moisture content and the die entry angle. Results indicate that the flow behavior of corn grits and the entrance pressure drop were affected by product moisture content, process temperature and the shear history in the extruder. Entrance pressure drop also increased with wall shear stress for plastic melt, but for food biopolymer, the increase was observed provided shear history effects were minimized. Entrance correction increased with apparent shear rate for LDPE, but the reverse was true for corn meal. The entrance pressure drop method estimation of corn meal uniaxial extensional viscosity reveals that processing history, moisture content and barrel temperature affect extensional viscosity. Enhanced moisture and temperature levels reduce extensional viscosity at higher extension rates. The Trouton ratio is about an order of magnitude higher than the Newtonian value, suggesting greater viscoelasticity.

OBJECTIVE: Recent pandemic virus SARS-CoV-2 is a global warning for the healthcare system. The spike protein of virus SARS-CoV-2 is significant because of two reasons. Firstly, the spike protein of this virus binds with the human ACE2 (hACE2) receptor. Secondly, it has several antigenic regions that might be targeted for vaccine development. However, the structural analytical data for the spike protein of this virus is not available. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Here, we performed an analysis to understand the structural two subunits of S glycoprotein (S gp) of SARSCoV-2. Further, an analysis of secondary structure components and the tertiary structure analysis of RBD was carried out. We also performed molecular interaction analysis between S gp of this virus and hACE2 as well as between SARSCoV S gp and hACE2 to compare the binding properties of these two viruses. RESULTS: We noted that the molecular interaction of SARS-CoV-2 S gp and hACE2 form eleven hydrogen bonds, while the molecular interaction of SARS-CoV S gp and hACE2 receptor form seven hydrogen bonds, indicating that the molecular interaction of SARS-CoV-2 S gp and hACE2 receptor is more stable than SARS-CoV S gp and hACE2 receptor. The pairwise sequence alignment of S gp SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 shows several conserved residues of these two proteins. Besides, conserved pattern analysis of SARS-CoV-2 S gp and hACE2 revealed the presence of several highly conserved regions for these two proteins. The molecular dynamics simulation shows a stable interplay between SARS-CoV-2 S gp with the hACE2 receptor. CONCLUSIONS: The present study might help determine the SARS-CoV-2 virus entrance mechanism into the human cell.
