We introduce and analyze a class of estimators for distribution parameters based on the relationship between the distribution function and the empirical distribution function. This class includes the nonlinear least squares estimator and the weighted nonlinear least squares estimator which has been used in parameter estimation for lifetime data (see e.g. [6, 8]) as well as the generalized nonlinear least squares estimator proposed in [3]. Sufficient conditions for consistency and asymptotic normality are given. Capability and limitations are illustrated by simulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The primary concern is to introduce and illustrate the way of using a generalized nonlinear regression method for the purpose of parameter estimation in the classical parametric independent and identically distributed sample model. It is shown by simulation that the presented estimator has a root-mean-square error comparable to the maximum likelihood estimator in the model for which it is known that maximum likelihood has excellent properties. As this estimator is based on an empirical distribution function, it is also compared to the maximum goodness-of-fit estimators that minimize Cramer-von Mises and Anderson–Darling empirical distribution statistics and it is shown that it outperforms them in most cases. CEREBRAL dominance ,CEREBRAL hemispheres ,SCHOOL children ,WRITING ,DRAWING ,QUESTIONNAIRES ,HANDEDNESS - Abstract
Brain lateralization is a common term used to describe dominance of one brain hemisphere over another for a specific function. The right hand dominance in writing, controlled by the left hemisphere, is preceded by development of communicative gesticulation and followed by development of speech in the same hemisphere1. We assumed that some people are not aware of their own capability of using the other hand for tasks involving fine motor sequential movements. To prove this hypothesis, the participants were asked to perform one trained task (writing) and one less-trained task (drawing) with a dominant and a non-dominant hand. The final sample was comprised of 1189 children from 14 elementary schools and 8 high schools in the Osijek area, of which 685 elementary school children were attending 1st to 4th grade and 504 high school children were attending 3
rd and 4th grade. The participants were asked to write two words, draw a specific object (a vase with flowers) and fill out a questionnaire with 10 questions concerning the classification of handedness and cerebral hemisphere dominance. The self-reported cerebral lateralization assessed in the questionnaire was compared with the drawing and the writing performance. The self-reported and objectively measured hand dominance deviated in the cases of the ambidextrous who consider themselves right-handers. Given the fact that the number of ambidextrous persons was greater in elementary schools than in high schools, we concluded how training of the right hand decreases the ability of using both hands equally for either of the tested functions - writing and drawing. The problem of estimating the boundary of a uniform distribution on a disc is considered when data are measured with normally distributed additive random error. The problem is solved in two steps. In the first step the domain is subdivided into thin slices and the endpoints of slices are obtained within the framework of a corresponding one-dimensional problem. For the estimations implemented in that step the moment method and the maximum likelihood method are used. As there are numerical problems with calculating the variance of the estimator in the maximum likelihood approach, its good approximation is also given. In the second step the obtained endpoints are used to estimate the boundary using the total least-squares curve fitting procedure. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the total least-squares solution is also given. Finally, simulation results are presented.

FOOD industrial waste ,SUPERCRITICAL carbon dioxide ,CORN products ,WASTE products ,BLOWING agents ,SNACK foods - Abstract
This study was aimed at investigating the possible application of defatted hazelnut, camelina, pumpkin, and hemp cakes (by‐products of edible oil production) in the production of corn snack products, and to use supercritical CO2 as a blowing agent in indirectly expanded snack products. Cakes were added in 3, 6, and 9% proportions. Extrusion was performed in a laboratory single screw extruder and expanded by microwave. The obtained extrudates were evaluated for their physical and sensory properties. For comparison, directly expanded products without supercritical CO2, were produced with the same raw materials. The addition of the by‐product had a significant influence on the expansion ratio, bulk density, fracturability, and crispiness, and all four by‐products were successfully incorporated in the production of sensory acceptable, indirectly expanded snack products, produced by supercritical fluid extrusion. This type of products is interesting for consumers since it can be home‐made and produced without additives or any chemical substances. Practical applications: By‐products of oil production (defatted press cake from pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, camelina seeds, and hemp seeds), known as high‐fiber and high‐protein ingredients, were added in the corn grits with the aim to increase nutritional value of the product and to reduce the waste of the food industry. For production of indirectly expanded corn snacks, supercritical CO2 is used as blowing agent, and pellets are expanded by microwave heating in few seconds. This is a good example of new products, which is interesting for consumers since it can be home‐made and it is without additives or any chemical substances. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nadzire rad postrojenja i detektira nam ranu promjenu u radu stroja. Technology advances day by day, work in plants strives for perfection and to be controlled. System supervision or monitoring has a very important role in the plant. It monitors the operation of the plant and detects early changes in the operation of the machine. This enables us to react in a timely manner and thereby prevents major damage. At the time when the overhaul is due, we can see the state (health) of the machine through monitoring, if it shows us that everything is in order, then there is no need for monitoring and additional costs. The most important quantity in this system is the magnetic induction, because through it we can determine if there is a single-turn short circuit on the rotor poles. The results are collected through measuring rolls and work through two methods (MXDiff and DMMP). And the processing is performed in the National Instruments LabVIEW program. Graphical display of signals are shown on the polar coordinate system. Where a breakdown of the insulation (inter-turn short circuit) is visible from the value of the magnetic induction.

This graduate thesis firstly describes a three-phase model of a synchronous motor with permanent magnets. Then the two-phase theory is explained, which enabled the transition from a three-phase system to a two-phase system, the so-called Park’s transformation. After transforming the three-phase model of a synchronous machine with permanent magnets into a two-phase system, the theory of vector motor control is explained. The parameterization of the PI current and speed regulator is carried out in detail. The concept of the windup effect is also described and a solution for canceling this effect is proposed. Models of motor and controller are implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. Then the basic terms related to co-simulation, HIL testing are defined. The operation of dSpace’s MicroLabBox simulator is described in detail and a validation experiment was performed. The operation of OPAL simulators OP5031 and OP5600 is also described in detail. One of the most signicant on line diagnostic methods for fault condition of induction motor (MCSA) has been described in this master thesis. This method is based on recording stator currents and spectral analysis through fast Fourier transformation. The Fourier spectrum can help to determine the characteristic fault frequencies. Considering a healthy motor in relation to unhealthy motor, it can be concluded about type of failure state. When recording the current, the motor must be loaded with a load of at least 70 % of the nominal torque. Based on the results, an algorithm, which is based on the signal energy ratios and decides about type of failure, was created.

Simulation model of axle coupling between a DC motor and induction motor was developed in Matlab/Si- mulink software. The parameter estimation problem is dened in general, and its application in the case of estimating the moment of inertia and resistance of DC generator. Parameter estimation, in this master thesis, is based on minimizing the objective function with least squ- ares criterion. Selected parameter estimation tool and its application in Matlab software is described brie y. Measurements of phase voltages and line currents of the grid, armature vol- tage and current of DC generator as well as of electric speed were made. Finally, the results of parameter estimation were presented, and a statistical analysis of the obtained results and residuals was performed. Significant contribution to the formation of shaft currents leading to failure of bearings gives eccentric rotor position to a bore stator. The large use of asynchronous motors leads to the need for faster and more efficient handling of possible malfunctions. With the engine model, this work in the form of measurements graphically shows the effect of eccentricity on the frequency spectrum of the motor, and the harmonics that can be seen can be noticed. Whether the engine is in such condition for a longer period of time will result in unwanted consequences. If there is doubt about the occurrence of eccentricity, it is possible by means of diagnostic methods to check that they are stationary and react in a timely fashion.

The task of of this Master's Thesis is to compose a simulation model of binding an electric vehicle and microgrid (V2G system) with inserting a photovoltaic source. The model is divided into four parts and simulated according to the previosly assigned scenario, load and weather conditions. The goal of this paper is to determine the profitability of V2G system and efficency of inserting the photovoltaic source. Conclusion about the goal of the Thesis was made analyzing outcomes of electrical quantities obtained after the simulations.

Scaling properties of stochastic processes refer to the behavior of the process at different time scales and distributional properties of its increments with respect to aggregation. In the first part of the thesis, scaling properties are studied in different settings by analyzing the limiting behavior of two statistics: partition function and the empirical scaling function. In Chapter 2 we study asymptotic scaling properties of weakly dependent heavy-tailed sequences. These results are applied on the problem of estimation of the unknown tail index. The proposed methods are tested against some existing estimators, such as Hill and the moment estimator. In Chapter 3 the same problem is analyzed for the linear fractional stable noise, which is an example of a strongly dependent heavy-tailed sequence. Estimators will be developed for the Hurst parameter and stable index, the main parameters of the linear fractional stable motion. Chapter 4 contains an overview of the theory of multifractal processes, which can be characterized in several di erent ways. A practical problem of detecting multifractal properties of time series is discussed from the point of view of the results of the preceding chapters. The last Chapter 5 deals with the fine scale properties of the sample paths described with the so-called spectrum of singularities. The new results are given relating scaling properties with path properties and applied to different classes of stochastic processes. S druge strane, dokazat ćemo svojevrsni komplement Kolmogorovljevog teorema koji povezuje momente negativnog reda s izostankom Hölder neprekidnosti trajektorije u svakoj točki.
