The plastic deformation of a TiNi single crystal was modeled, taking into account the anisotropy of the yield stress in the slip plane. The material parameters (initial yield stress and hardening factor) were selected for each slip system. Deformation curves were obtained for different orientations of the single crystal. It is shown that Schmid's law prevents obtaining a correct description of deformation for all orientations of single crystals. Good agreement with experiments was observed for the crystal orientations ⟨001⟩, ⟨111⟩, and ⟨123⟩ but not ⟨011⟩, for which the deformation mechanism was different. In the case of the deformation of a polycrystalline sample, the anisotropy in the slip plane is not significant.

Purpose. To study the influence of PD-L1 expression on the dynamics of immunological changes before and at different intervals after stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) of metastatic lesions in patients with metastatic forms of solid tumors. Materials and methods. A quantitative assessment and analysis of blood immunological parameters was conducted before irradiation, via 3-4 weeks and via 6-8 weeks after SBRT in patients with malignant tumors with oligometastases in the liver or lungs, in groups with negative and positive expression of PD-L1. All peripheral blood samples were analyzed by flow cytometry. Statistical analysis was performed using Friedman and Nemenyi criteria. Results. 3-4 weeks after the end of SBRT in group CPS 1, we revealed statistically significant increase of activated T-helpers 6-8 weeks after and decrease of T-regulatory lymphocytes (CD4+CD25brightCD127low) 3-4 weeks after completion of SBRT compared with the study before radiotherapy. El proyecto «Atlas Epigráfico de Petén, Fase I», llevado a cabo en 2013, estaba orientado a la documentación y análisis de las inscripciones mayas preservadas en el Parque Nacional Tikal. Durante el trabajo con las colecciones cerámicas del Centro de Conservación e Investigación de Tikal (CCIT), fueron redocumentados varios fragmentos con textos jeroglíficos que hasta ahora no habían recibido mucha atención por parte de los epigrafistas. Uno de ellos proporciona información sobre la cuenta dinástica de un desconocido linaje real del Petén y otro contiene la mención más temprana del enigmático título ‘tumam’. ENGLISH: The “Epigraphic Atlas of Peten, Phase I” project, carried out in 2013, was oriented to the documentation and analysis of Maya inscriptions preserved in Tikal National Park. During the field work with the ceramic collections of the Tikal Conservation and Research Center (CCIT), were re-documented several fragments with hieroglyphic texts that had not received much attention from epigraphists until now. One of them provides information on the dynastic account of an unknown royal lineage from the Peten, and another contains the earliest mention of the enigmatic title ‘tumam’.

Aim. To study the relationship between the level of haptoglobin and the main indicators of microcirculation (MC) in patients with different phenotypes of chronic heart failure (CHF).Materials and methods. Patients with different phenotypes of functional class II-IV chronic heart failure according to NYHA (n=80) underwent a general clinical examination, determination of the serum haptoglobin level by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, as well as an assessment of the MC state on the medial surface of the upper third of the leg by laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF).Results. Patients with CHF included patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (HFpEF; n=27, intermediate ejection fraction (HFmrEF; n=25) and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF; n=28). The median value of haptoglobin in the HFpEF group was 1387.6 [ 747.5; 1946.9] mg/l, in the HFmrEF group was 1583.4 [818.9; 2201.4] mg/l, in the HFrEF group was 968.5 [509.5; 1324.4] mg/l. Correlation analysis revealed statistically significant relationships between haptoglobin and the amplitudes of the endothelial frequency range (Ae) in the groups of HFmrEF (r=-0.628, 95% confidence interval [CI] -0.256; -0.825, p=0.003) and HFrEF (r=-0.503, 95% CI -0.089; -0.803, p=0.02). A negative relationship between the haptoglobin level and Kv and σ was revealed, as well as a formula for calculating the value of haptoglobin was obtained, which is predicted on the basis of the amplitude index of the endothelial frequency range: [haptoglobin]=1787-(4053×Ae).Conclusion. The multifactorial effect of haptoglobin is realized in the central and peripheral mechanisms of MC regulation. Low values of haptoglobin in blood plasma should be considered as a potential marker for the development of complications and used in a comprehensive assessment of the state of patients with CHF. Evaluation of the diagnostic and prognostic significance of haptoglobin, especially in patients with HFmrEF, requires further study.

В современной системе школьного образования мотивация учащихся к обучению является одним из приоритетов воспитания и психолого-педагогического сопровождения. В данной работе проведена оценка уровня мотивации у учащихся кадетского класса общеобразовательной школы города Москвы по сравнению с их сверстниками из обычного класса с использованием анкеты «Оценка уровня школьной мотивации» Н.Г. Лускановой. Показано, что в 7 классе уровень мотивации в общем не различается у исследуемых когорт учеников, однако девочки из кадетского класса демонстрируют сниженный уровень мотивации по сравнению с девочками из обычного класса.

Optical sensors typically provide compact, fast and precise means of performing quantitative measures for almost any kind of measurand that is usually probed electronically. High-contrast grating (HCG) resonators are known to manifest an extremely sharp and sensitive optical resonance and can constitute a highly suitable sensing platform. In this paper we present two advanced high-contrast grating designs improving the sensing performances of conventional implementations. These configurations, namely pedestal and half-buried HCGs, allow to enhance the shift of the photonic resonance while maintaining the spectral features of the standard configuration. First, the spectral feature of the HCGs was numerically optimized to express the sharpest possible resonance when the structure is immersed in serum. Second, the sensing properties of conventional and advanced HCG implementations were studied by modelling the biological entities to be sensed as a thin dielectric coating layer of increasing thickness. Pedestal HCGs were found to provide a ∼12% improvement in sensitivity and a six-fold improvement in resonance quality factor (Q-factor), while buried HCGs resulted in a ∼58% improvement in sensitivity at the expense of a slightly broader resonance. Such structures may serve as an improved sensitive biosensing platform for near-infrared spectroscopy.

Photoluminescence including fluorescence plays a great role in a wide variety of applications from biomedical sensing and imaging to optoelectronics. Therefore, the enhancement and control of photoluminescence has immense impact on both fundamental scientific research and aforementioned applications. Among various nanophotonic schemes and nano-structures to enhance the photoluminescence, we focus on a certain type of nanostructures, hyperbolic metamaterials (HMMs). HMMs are highly anisotropic metamaterials, which produce intense localized electric fields. Therefore, HMMs naturally boost photoluminescence from dye molecules, quantum dots, nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamonds, per-ovskites and transition metal dichalcogenides. We provide an overview of various configurations of HMMs, including met-al-dielectric multilayers, trenches, metallic nanowires, and cavity structures fabricated with the use of noble metals, trans-parent conductive oxides, and refractory metals as plasmonic elements. We also discuss lasing action realized with HMMs.

Ultrafast excited-state dynamics of CuBr3- complex was studied in acetonitrile and dichloromethane solutions using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy with 18 fs temporal resolution and quantum-chemical DFT calculations. Upon 640 nm excitation, the CuBr3- complex is promoted to the ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) state, which then shortly undergoes internal conversion into the vibrationally hot ligand field (LF) excited state with time constants of 30 and 40 fs in acetonitrile and dichloromethane, respectively. The LF state nonradiatively relaxes into the ground state in 2.6 and 7.3 ps in acetonitrile and dichloromethane, respectively. Internal conversion of the LF state is accompanied by vibrational relaxation that occurs on the same time scale. Based on the analysis of coherent oscillations and quantum-chemical calculations, the predominant forms of the CuBr3- complex in acetonitrile and dichloromethane solutions were revealed. In acetonitrile, the CuBr3- complex exists as [CuBr3(CH3CN)2]-, whereas three forms of this complex, [CuBr3CH2Cl2]-, [CuBr3(CH2Cl2)2]-, and [CuBr3(CH2Cl2)3]-, are present in equilibrium in dichloromethane.

In this paper we obtain a range of quantitative results of the following type: given two centered Gaussian fields with close covariance kernels we construct a coupling such that the fields are uniformly close on some compact with probability very close to one. As an application, we show that it is possible to couple arithmetic random waves so that they converge locally uniformly to the random plane wave and estimate the rate of convergence.

For a smooth, stationary, planar Gaussian field, we consider the number of connected components of its excursion set (or level set) contained in a large square of area $R^2$. The mean number of components is known to be of order $R^2$ for generic fields and all levels. We show that for certain fields with positive spectral density near the origin (including the Bargmann-Fock field), and for certain levels $\ell$, these random variables have fluctuations of order at least $R$, and hence variance of order at least $R^2$. In particular, this holds for excursion sets when $\ell$ is in some neighbourhood of zero, and it holds for excursion/level sets when $\ell$ is sufficiently large. We prove stronger fluctuation lower bounds of order $R^\alpha$, $\alpha \in [1,2]$, in the case that the spectral density has a singularity at the origin. Finally, we show that the number of excursion/level sets for the Random Plane Wave at certain levels has fluctuations of order at least $R^{3/2}$, and hence variance of order at least~$R^3$. BACKGROUND Socioeconomic deprivation (SED) has been associated with increased 30-day mortality and reduced long-term survival after surgical repair of acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD). The study aimed to determine the incidence rate ratio of ATAAD in New Zealand population with higher and lower SED indices and to evaluate any association between SED and outcomes after ATAAD repair. METHODS This was a retrospective cohort study. Patients who underwent ATAAD repair from March 2003 to May 2020 were identified. Overseas patients, those with chronic aortic dissection, and those who died in hospital before the operation were excluded. The total number of New Zealand residents was estimated based on the national 2018 Census. RESULTS A total of 363 ATAAD patients met the eligibility criteria. Peritoneal carcinomatosis is a variant of implantation metastasis of tumors sprouting the serous membrane of an organ. At the moment, the most effective treatment for this disease is regional chemotherapy. Systemic chemotherapy is not effective enough. The standard for the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis was cytoreductive interventions followed by open or closed hypertermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC) or pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC). Purpose of the study: in an animal experiment to compare the efficacy and safety of regional chemotherapy methods HIPEC and PIPAC Materials and methods: the study was conducted on 44 rats of Wistar females. To simulate carcinomatosis, a strain of ascites ovarian tumor (OA) from the Russian Oncology Cancer Research Center N.N. Petrova. was used. The safety of the technique was evaluated clinically and based on laboratory blood tests. Efficiency - based on mass spectrometry, pathomorphological data and in assessing the life expectancy of animals. Results: the conducted methods HIPEC (open, closed) and PIPAC have shown their safety in experiments on laboratory animals. The closed HIPEC technique is most effective. The analysis of the incidence of postoperative complications demonstrated a greater aggressiveness of open and closed techniques compared to the more “sparing” PIPAC method. Conclusions: the experiment showed comparable safety of all animals tested. Due to the peculiarities of the technique, the PIPAC method can be used as an option for multi-stage treatment in cases where CPC and HIPEC are not possible due to a high index of peritoneal carcinomatosis, and as a neoadjuvant treatment to prevent peritoneal carcinomatosis. In any case, the prospects for using this method require further research.

The article discusses the new construction principles of the highly sensitive and high-speed electronic channels for sensor measuring systems with parallel-sequential conversion of the dynamic informative signals of direct or alternating current in wide ranges of its amplitude and frequency. The possibilities of improving suppression of noise and the interferences on industrial power frequency with several methods of processing the obtained data shown analytically and experimentally. A prototype of a unified basic module of the measuring channel described, intended for the implementation of information-measuring systems for various purposes; its main characteristics are given. Living organisms form a large variety of hierarchically structured extracellular functional tissues. Remarkably, these materials exhibit regularity and structural coherence across multiple length scales, far beyond the size of a single cell. Here, synchrotron-based nanotomographic imaging in combination with machine-learning-based segmentation is used to reveal the structural synchronization process of nacre forming in the shell of the mollusc Unio pictorum. We show that the emergence of this highly regular layered structure is driven by a disorder-to-order transition achieved through the motion and interaction of screw-like structural dislocations with an opposite topological sign. Using an analogy to similar processes observed in liquid-crystalline systems, we demonstrate that these microstructural faults act as dissipative topological defects coupled by an elastic distortion field surrounding their cores. Their mutual annihilation results in structural synchronization that is simulated using the classical Kuramoto model. The developed experimental, theoretical and numerical framework provides a comprehensive physical view of the formation of biogenic materials. Molluscs assemble layers of material in the shells around them with a high level of control. Here the authors observe the structural evolution of layer formation and propose a mechanism reminiscent of topological defect dynamics in liquid crystals.
