The aim of the study was to evaluate the behavioral signs of diabetic rats after treatment by Artemisia herba-alba (AHA) and insulin. Method: Based on the induction of diabetes in wistar rats by intraperitoneal (I/P) injection of 60 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ), then treated by AHA as 20 mg (I/P) and insulin subcutaneously (S/C). The samples of rats were: 1) Diabetic control, 2) Injected with insulin, 3) Injected with AHA, 4) Non diabetic rats, which were fostered for 21 day; then weighted and the behavioral tests were conducted. Results: The board hole tests (BHT) showed that: the induced diabetes reduced the cognition of the rats in view of Latency of the First Head Dipping (LFHD) in seconds, number of head dipping (NHD) and duration of head dipping (DHD) by 49.3%, while it’s improved in AHA and insulin treated rats by 52% and 69% in average respectively. The exploratory activity reduced in diabetic rats by 36%, while AHA and Insulin treated rats increased by 53% and 72% respectively. The rearing test showed an increase of anxiety among diabetic in form of duration of rearing, number of rearing and time spend in center by 51.7% in average respectively, while the anxiety reduced after treatment by AHA and insulin by 39% and 47.3% in average respectively. Also the diabetes increased the depression state by 106%, while the treatment by AHA and insulin reduced the depression state by 77% and 88% respectively. And VPT showed that: motor impairment occurred in diabetic cases and improved after AHA and insulin treatment.

The aim of this study was to study the technical factors affecting the reading of TLD (LiF:Mg:Ti) for radiation dosimetry. The method adapted was an exposure of LiF:Mg:Ti crystal with γ-ray with the following filters (Hp 0.07 and Hp 10), before and after usage of filter Hp (0.07), annealing, cooling by nitrogen flux and crystal morphology by scanning electron microscope. The collected data analyzed by EXCELL software showed that: TLD average count/second (C/s) with filter Hp (10) was greater than that obtained with filter Hp (0.07) with an amount of 1191 c/s (19%). Also the analysis showed that: the average C/s without filter Hp (0.07) was greater than that with filter by an amount of 994.5 C/s (16.4%), and there was proportional linear relationship; as the applied dose increased the TLD C/s increased significantly (R2 = 0.9) based on the equations: y = 885.1x ? 286.5 and y = 860.5x + 856.8 for filtered and without filtered beam respectively, where x refers to applied dose in mGy and y refers to C/s. Also the average C/s without nitrogen flux (cooling) was greater than with nitrogen count with an amount of 52.4 C/s (11%). The annealing (without filter) causes a reduction in dose by 82.2 μGy (19.2%), and in case of annealing with filter, the dose reduced by 66.7 μGy (21.9%) relative to annealing without filter. The morphology of TLD crystal shown by scanning electron microscope SEM was a darkening surface after irradiation.

Thymic epithelial neoplasms consist of thymomas, thymic carcinoids and thymic carcinomas. Carcinomas are malignant tumors of the thymus; they compromise only 4%-14% of thymic epithelial neoplasms. Thymic carcinoma cells do not resemble healthy cells but similar to cancer cells that originate from other parts of the body and grow more quickly when the tumor is found and more difficult to treat. Thymic carcinoma rarely occurs in children. We reported a case of undifferentiated thymic carcinoma in 11 months old female. After two courses of chemotherapy the patient developed increasing respiratory compression and unfortunately died because of respiratory failure.

An 11 month baby girl presented with 1 week history of left elbow pain and swelling with restricted mobility, on and off fever treated with paracetamol at home. 3 weeks prior to her presentation she had chickenpox with generalized skin rashes. Baby has no past medical history and up to date with her vaccinations. Clinically elbow was swollen with redness at the dorsal lateral side mainly, very tender to touch with almost no range of motion at a slight flexed position. Routine bloods showed significant increase in the inflammatory markers, ultra-sound of the elbow show moderate joint effusion with fluid in the anterior and posterior aspects of the joint with small foci of debris within the effusion, Synovial thickening and increased vascularity with no irregularity of the underlying bony contours. As simple aspiration was difficult to be performed given her age, patient was taken to theater and urgent drainage on the day of presentation was done, with about 10–15ml of yellowish discharge drained from the lateral side of the elbow. Blood culture along with the joint fluid showed growth of Streptococcus Pyogenes which was sensitive to Penicillin. After 4 weeks of Intravenous Penicillin and another 4 weeks of oral Amoxicillin, baby showed complete recovery both clinically and on her routine bloods.

- Abstract
Knowledge of family planning has increased to 87% among currently married women. However, it is uses still lagging as, about 22% of young married women and 26% of sexually active unmarried women in this country are reported having an unmet need for family planning. Ethiopia is one of the highest unmet need for family planning according to EDHS-2016 but the level and factors that determine unmet need for FP are not well understood. This study assess the magnitude and factors associated with unmet need for family planning among married women of urban and rural communities in Jigjiga city administration. A community based cross-sectional study design was used, with 375 households. Sampling frame was used listing all households in the selected kebeles (smallest administration units) in which married women resided. A structured questionnaire adopted from literature was used. Data was checked, edited, coded and entered into EPIDATA version 3.1 and transported to SPSS version 23 for analysis. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression was carried out to see any associations between outcome and explanatory variables and P-Value of 0.05 was considered significant. This study revealed that 22.6 % of married women had unmet need for family planning out of which, 68(21.5%) was for spacing and 4(1.1%) for limiting. In this study, unavailability of health facility that provide family planning services was 2.3 (AOR=2.31, 95%CI: 1.087, 4.912 1.042, 4.3) times more likely to have unmet need for FP than those who had. Women who desire to have more than or equal to ten children were 3.7 (AOR=3.7, 95%CI:1.427, 9.822) times more likely to have unmet need for FP than those who desired to have less than ten children and FP practice (non-user and ever-users) were 8 [(AOR=8.8, 95%CI: 1.327, 58.61) and (AOR=8.5, 95%CI: 1.552, 46.04)] times more likely to have unmet need for Family planning than those of current users. It also concluded that the overall prevalence of unmet need for FP amon

- Abstract
Feature construction (FC) refers to a process that uses the original features to construct new features with better discrimination ability. Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO) is an effective search technique that has been successfully utilised in FC. However, the application of PSO for feature construction using high dimensional data has been a challenge due to its large search space and high computational cost. Moreover, unnecessary features that were irrelevant, redundant and contained noise were constructed when PSO was applied to the whole feature. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to select the most informative features and construct new features from the selected features for a better classification performance. The feature clustering methods were used to aggregate similar features into clusters, whereby the dimensionality of the data was lowered by choosing representative features from every cluster to form the final feature subset. The clustering of each features are proven to be accurate in feature selection (FS), however, only one study investigated its application in FC for classification. The study identified some limitations, such as the implementation of only two binary classes and the decreasing accuracy of the data. This paper proposes a cluster based PSO feature construction approach called ClusPSOFC. The Redundancy-Based Feature Clustering (RFC) algorithm was applied to choose the most informative features from the original data, while PSO was used to construct new features from those selected by RFC. Experimental results were obtained by using six UCI data sets and six high-dimensional data to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method when compared to the original full features, other PSO based FC methods, and standard genetic programming based feature construction (GPFC). Hence, the ClusPSOFC method is effective for feature construction in the classification of high dimensional data.

The spleen is one of the most frequently affected organs in sickle cell anemia (SCA). This study aims to characterize the spleen in sickle cell anemia patients using contrast enhanced computerized tomography scanning (CECT). 67 patients with SCA from different Saudi Arabian areas were enrolled; ages are ranged from 10 months to 28 years old. The spleen was assessed with CT for abdominal pain and/or unexplained fever. The evaluation was done at different contrast enhancement scanning phases. The study showed that the least number of affected patients was from Eastern Saudi Arabia (1.5%) followed by Asseer (16.4%) then Gazan representing 82.1%. The most common type of SCA affected the Saudi children is Hemoglobin SS Disease (Hb SS) constituting 41 (61.2%). The spleen size, lymph nodes size, spleen Hounsfield (HU), splenic vein diameter and the correlation with the associated findings were evaluated for all of the patients. In children affected with SCA: 26 (38.8%) have splenomegaly, 18 (26.9%) have atrophied spleen and 2 (3.0%) are with very small tissue like structure. Lesions found in the spleen were abscess, infarction, cyst, and calcifications. At the spleen hilum region; dilated splenic vein, presence of multiple collaterals, and thrombus were also been detected. Significantly correlations were noticed between lesions type, child age, enlargement of spleen and splenic lymph nodes at P ≤ 0.033, P ≤ 0.010 and P ≤ 0.012 respectively and showed an evidence that the reduction of the HU and advanced age have significant relation with changing of the spleen size at P ≤ 0.004 and P ≤ 0.000 respectively. Spleen lesions’ enhancement pattern is well emerged in both venous and delay phase and it was significantly related with the scanning phase at P ≤ 0.000 and with different types of SCA at P ≤ 0.037, and P ≤ 0.055 in venous and delay phase in respectively. CECT offers a number of morphological criteria that can be applied to differentiate hypodense lesions of the spleen in SCA. CT characterization criteria of hypodense splenic lesions are acknowledged to aid interpretation during evaluation of abdominal CT images of the spleen in symptomatic patients with sickle cell anemia.

The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) has become universal financial reporting language as it is currently used by 166 (85%) (out of 195) countries in the Africa, Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia and Oceana. Similarly, all eight country members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have accepted IFRS for presentation of financial statements of their public companies. In the era of globalistaion and liberalistion, IFRS are performing mounting significant role in the global accounting system. Therefore, this paper was intended to portray the process of convergence of IFRS in global accounting system and to identify the status of SAARC countries in convergence of IFRS. For this reason, secondary sources and review of literature were taken into consideration. The study demonstrated that IFRS set by International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) adopted by all countries have been altered slightly before accepting. The SAARC countries have also made minor modifications in IFRS and accepted in phased manner. The study concluded that the SAARC countries are facing number of problems that should be resolved for better convergence of IFRS., peer-reviewed

Background The increasing incidence of morbid obesity suggests that the quantity of bariatric surgical procedures will continue to multiply each year, many patients who have experienced massive weight loss are left with the dissatisfying consequences of loose and redundant skin, resulting in contour irregularities, an aesthetic and functional problem, and profound dissatisfaction with appearance, residual body image dissatisfaction, There is a subsequent increase in the number of patients seeking additional corrective procedures including abdominoplasty which considered as one of the most popular body-contouring procedures. Correcting skin excess, could improve all the corollaries, including body, and functional problems and gives profound satisfaction with appearance, it has shown to improve both psychological and social aspects of the patients' lives. Objectives Is there a gender difference in seeking body countering after bariatric surgery for weight loss? Patients and methods A longitudinal observational study includes 209 obese patients with mean age of 31 ± 8.6 years; (31 ± 9, 31 ± 7 years for female and male patients respectively). Gender ratio M/F = 1.94/1, mean BMI 40 ± 9 kg/m2sin (n = 138 female) and 45±8m2s in (n = 71 male) patients, and Waist circumference 109 ± 7 cm in female and 118 ± 4 cm in males. Results Some female (n = 10, 7.25%) patients were seeking abdominoplasty from the third month after the operations were they have lost (21 ± 2 kg) of their excess weight, fourteen patients (10.14%), at 6 months and 27 patients (19.56%) at 12 months, but most of male patients were requesting abdominoplasty (n = 7, 09.86%) at 12 months after the operations. Male patients have shifted their ideal from weight loss to abdominoplasty after losing (50–70) of their excess weight 12 months after the operations. The main motivation of requesting abdominoplasty in female and male patients was physical difficulty because of redundant skin, and a smaller number in both genders were motivated by a friend or by a doctor. Conclusion The motivation for abdominoplasty in females is parallel to the amount of EWL or waist circumference. Female patients are looking for body countering three months after surgery, while male patients more often than not request body shaping following one year after surgery, the age groups are invert in genders; female patients asking for body contouring in younger age group while male patients in older age group.

This thesis studies Caryl Churchill's Top Girls with respect to new historicism and the subordinate nature of female characters. The play deals with historical woman figures and feminism, and discusses different subjects ranging from female subjection to the motivations of working females, the relationships of these females with their children, the rights of sexual preference for women in inter-racial relationships, and the perceptions of society in connection with these issues. This dissertation also examines how Churchill uses epic theatre as a method for offering a voice to her feminist interests involving sexual and class constraint, submission, enslavement, and inequality in her play Top Girls, regarding feminist politics and socialism. Through the play, Churchill raises doubt about the customary sexual roles and duties forced on females by the male-commanded principles. Initially, this thesis deals with a short historical background beginning from Victorian period and the issues like political, literary and social ones. This study is also characterized by women rights. In addition, using new historical approach as a fundamental scheme makes this study take a look at historical, political and social writings. The paper uncovers how perceived insurrection in women is often a catalyst for change, even though not always a positive one. It recommends that these women are unconventional in the way they perceive and conduct their lives and are not easily troubled by the observations society has of them. 86

The aim of this study was to assess the performance of 60Co-teletherapy unit at Radiation and Isotopes Center in Khartoum, using the common tools used for quality control (Front pointer, Graphic paper, Pin, Non-screen film, meter and Check plate). The collected and analyzed data revealed that: there was a difference between the calculated theoretical field size (FS) and the measured one relative to the change of SSD; and the average FS shift was 0.9 cm relative to the standard one, while the machine isocenter was almost fixed at 0° with a shift of 0.003 cm, which was within the standard limit (0.2 cm). The diaphragm isocenter showed a shift of ±0.36 cm (i.e. in clock and anti clock wise) in average relative to standard limit (±0.3 cm) and the couch vertical isocenter (CVI) relative to the SSD changes was exceeded the standard limit (0.2 cm) by a factor of 0.9 cm. Also the SSD determined by the optical distance indicator was greater than the actual SSD (determined by Front pointer and measured by scale meter) by an average of 0.8 cm; which exceeded the limit (0.3 cm) by an average factor of 0.5 cm. The study also showed that the penumbra profile (1.5 cm) was less than the actual specified for 60Co-teletherapy machine, while the radiation beam was so homogeneous across the field size.

Multi-detector row computed tomography urography (MDCTU) becomes the imaging modality of choice for evaluation of the kidneys and urinary tract. The aim of this study was to discuss and illustrate the role of MDCTU, on a 32-row CT scanner in the evaluation a variety of entities that were frequently associated with microscopic hematuria in adults. This prospective cohort study was performed in the period of August 2013 to October 2014. Fifty positive participants to microscopic hematuria were examined at the radiology department of Alnilin Diagnostic Medical Center and Antalya Medical Center. Computed tomography urography (CTU) scanning was performed using two powerful performances, high speed multi-detector row on 32-row CT scanners (Siemens Healthcare Global, Somatom Emotion Duo Eco). Statistical analysis was done through the standard Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA) version 15 for windows. MDCTU established the correct cause of microscopic hematuria in (44; 88%) of participants. In (6; 12%) of participants, no cause of hematuria was identified based on the standard of references. The causes of hematuria in (41; 82%) participants were diseases in the upper urinary tract, while urinary bladder neoplasms (2; 4%) and diverticulum (1; 2%) were the causes of hematuria (3; 6%) in the lower urinary tract. Thirty two-row MDCTU scanner demonstrated satisfactory results in the investigation of microscopic hematuria, being able to demonstrate a wide spectrum of diseases affecting the urinary tract is the main advantage of the technique.

Global left ventricle chamber function in obese patients is assessed, most commonly, by means of the ejection fraction. The preferred noninvasive modality for evaluating regional wall motion and overall ventricular performance is usually color-flow Doppler transthoracic echocardiography. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship of left ventricular ejection fraction to body mass index (BMI) measure of obesity in obese patients by using echocardiography. A prospective cohort study was conducted in the period of July 2012 to September 2014 in the ultrasound department of the Sudan Heart Center in Khartoum-Sudan, among a group of 250 obese participants of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) (67.2% males and 32.8% females) and their ages range from 22 to 86 years; mean age of 41 ± 1.2 years. Echocardiography studies were performed using MyLab 50 XVision-Esaote echocardiography machine equipped with 2.5 MHz phased array probe. Standard Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the results. The mean BMI was 28.6 ± 5.4 kg/m2. Significant relationship is found between left ventricle ejection fraction and BMI (P < 0.001). BMI is a useful statistical tool to track the body size trends in a multicentric population in Sudan. Left ventricular ejection fraction allows ventricular function to be assessed without the need for further body size adjustment.

A total sample size consisting of 150 Diabetic male patients has been investigated by ultrasound system General Electric using gray-scale B-mode imaging with curvilinear transducer 3 MHz to assess the impact of diabetes in kidney morphology and it is distributed in Sudan. The collected data were the patient age, height, weight, kidneys size, ultrasound findings of involved kidneys, and duration of diabetes and residence region. The analyzed data show that the diabetes has been as endemic disease in central Sudan (Khartoum & Jazeera) representing 55% and in the west of Sudan representing 38%. The BMI of diabetic patients has been significantly (R2 = 0.6) decreasing following aging. The kidney size increases significantly as R2 = 0.75 and 0.6 for left and right kidney respectively. Their correlation is fitted in the following equations: y = 3.95x + 27.26 and y = 2.41x + 35.12 for the left and right kidney respectively. The impact of duration was a reduction in size significantly as R2 = 0.61 and 0.55 with a correlation fitted in the following equations: y = –2.22x + 139.9 and y = –1.51x + 96.59 for the left and right kidney respectively. The mean kidney length was (14.5 cm) and the renal cortex in the range of 2 - 2.3 cm, the kidneys size were so enlarged as 92.4 ± 11.7 and 121 ± 17.1 for the right and left kidney respectively while in late case of Diabetes, the kidney is more echogenic, atrophied size with loss of corticomedullary differentiation.

Background: A retrospective study presenting the endemic orbital infection (cellulitis) that breakout during dusty storm season; aiming to ascertain and showing the precedence of MRI for diagnosis of orbital infection rather than CT and revealing the diagnostic abilities of cross-sectional matrices spectrum. Methods: Based on retrospective collection of diagnostics (CT and MRI) information for randomly selected patients with cellulitis and the targeting the relevant data (image interpretation, exposure dose (DLP and CTDIvol), age, BMI and matrix cross-section spectrum findings). Results: The exposure dose of orbital CT exam was 59.4 (mGy) as CT dose index (CTDIvol) and 917.3 (mGy/cm) as dose length product (DLP) that increase by increment of age and BMI. The obese patients only exposed to dose exceeding the National Diagnostic Reference by 2.8%. MRI confirmed the inflammation around the optic nerve and extension to posterio-inferior portion of the globe and affecting the optic nerve with left sided proptosis (0.5cm) better than CT. The cross-sectional matrix successfully revealed that: the Lt optic nerve’s gray value (density) increases by a factor of 17.7 (a u) and enlarged by 5 pixels greater than the Rt optic nerve. Thickening, rough surface increased gray value by 30.5 (a u), muco-thickening and choncheal enlargement at the medial boarder of Lt orbit as 10.0 pixel and Lt eye ball enlarged by a factor of 10.9 pixels. Conclusions: MRI wisely diagnose orbital infection with more details and overcoming patient radiation exposure and usage of image spectrum gives detailed characterization of lesion morphology.

LEUKEMIA ,ACUTE myeloid leukemia ,BLOOD ,BONE marrow ,BLASTING - Abstract
Summary: The day 14 bone marrow aspirate and biopsy (D14BM) is regularly used to predict achievement of complete remission (CR) with induction chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), however its utility has been questioned. Clearance of peripheral blood blasts (PBB) may serve as an early measure of chemosensitivity. PBB rate of clearance (PBB‐RC) was calculated for treatment‐naive AML patients (n = 164) undergoing induction with an anthracycline and cytarabine (7+3) and with detectable PBB at diagnosis. PBB‐RC was defined as the percentage of the absolute PBB count on the day of diagnosis that was cleared with each day of therapy, on average, until D14 or day of PBB clearance. Each 5% increase in PBB‐RC approximately doubled the likelihood of D14BM clearance (OR = 1·81; 95% CI: 1·24–2·64, P < 0·005). PBB‐RC was also associated with improved CR rates (OR per 5% = 1·97; 95% CI: 1·27–3·01, P < 0·005) and overall survival (OS) [hazard ratio (HR) per 5% = 0·67; 95% CI: 0·52–0·87]. African American patients had poorer OS adjusted for PBB‐RC (HR = 2·18; 95% CI: 1·13–4·23), while race was not associated with D14BM or CR rate. PBB‐RC during induction chemotherapy is predictive of D14BM clearance, CR, and OS, and can therefore serve as a prognostic marker for clinical outcomes in AML. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
