The works presented in this thesis are devoted to the study of partial differential equations systems (PDE). In particular, we are interested in constrained systems coming from the fluid mechanics field which allow to described, in time and space, physical quantities such as density or speed. In this context, we build models for biology which are then numerically tested. We also present an original numerical method for a road traffic model.In the first part, using the theory of mixtures, we model the development of a photosynthetic micro-algae biofilm. The growth of micro-algae is precisely described by taking into account their composition and their access to nutrients dissolved in the surrounding liquid and light. Then, using numerical simulations, we estimate the biofilm productivity.In the second part, using the mixture theory we propose a model describing the rheology of the large intestine and its mucus layer. Thanks to this model we can give an accurate description of the velocity field induced by intestinal flow. This velocity field will then be used to build a modeldescribing precisely interactions between the intestinal microbiota, the gastric broth and the host. For these two models numerical schemes are proposed and allow a first validation of the models.The last part is devoted to developing an asymptotic preserving scheme for the constraint Aw-Rascle system for road traffic. We present an explicit-implicit method based on a splitting technique in order to approximate the solutions of Aw-Rascle system with constraint, while relaxing the stability condition (CFL).; Les travaux présentés dans cette thèse sont consacrés à l’étude de systèmes d’équations aux dérivées partielles (EDP). En particulier, nous nous intéressons à des systèmes issus de la mécanique des fluides avec contraintes, qui permettent de décrire de manière continue, en temps et en espace, des quantités physiques telles que la densité ou la vitesse. Dans ce cadre, nous construisons des modèles pour la biologie, qu’ensuite nous testons numériquement. Nous proposons également avec des méthodes similaires une approche numérique originale pour un système de trafic routier.Dans une première partie, à l’aide de la théorie des mélanges, nous modélisons le développement d’un biofilm de micro-algues photosynthétiques. La croissance des micro-algues y est précisément décrite, en tenant compte de leur composition et de l’accès aux nutriments dissouts, contenus dans le liquide environnant ainsi que de la lumière. Puis, à l’aide de simulations numériques, nous estimons la productivité du biofilm.Dans la seconde partie, en utilisant la théorie des mélanges, nous proposons un modèle permettant de décrire la rhéologie du gros intestin et de sa couche de mucus. Grâce à ce modèle, nous donnerons une description précise du champ de vitesse, induit par le flux intestinal. Puis, ce champ de vitesse sera utilisé pour construire un modèle décrivant les interactions entre le microbiote intestinal, le bouillon gastrique et l’hôte. Pour ces deux modèles, un schéma numérique est proposé et permet une première validation.Enfin, la dernière partie est consacrée à l’élaboration d’un schéma asymptotic preserving pour le système de trafic routier d’Aw-Rascle avec contrainte. Nous y présentons une méthode explicite-implicite basée sur une technique de splitting permettant d’approcher les solutions du systèmed’Aw-Rascle avec contrainte, tout en réduisant la contrainte de stabilité (CFL).

The restoration of images degraded by spatially varying blurs is a problem of increasing importance. It is encountered in many applications such as astronomy, computer vision and fluorescence microscopy where images can be of size $1000 \times 1000 \times 1000$ pixels. Variable blurs can be modelled by linear integral operators $H$ that map a sharp image $u$ to its blurred version $Hu$ defined by\[ Hu(x) = \int_{\Omega} K(x,y) u(y) dy, \quad \forall x \in \Omega = [0,1]^d\]where $K : \Omega \times \Omega \to \mathbb{R}$ is called the kernel. After discretization of the image on a grid of $N$ pixels, $H$ can be viewed as a matrix of size $N \times N$. For targeted applications, matrices contain $10^{18}$ coefficients. This simple observation illustrates the difficulties associated to this problem: i) the storage of a huge amount of data, ii) the prohibitive computation costs of matrix-vector products. This problems suffers from the challenging curse of dimensionality. In addition, in many applications, the operator is usually unknown or only partially known. There are therefore two different problems, the approximation and the estimation of blurring operators. They are intricate \emph{and} have to be addressed with a global overview. Most of the work of this thesis is dedicated to the development of new models and computational methods to address those issues.In a first part, this work studied the approximation methods of integral operators. Existing approaches in the literature can be separated in two classes. The most developed approaches consists in constructing a low rank decomposition of the kernel $K$. Similarly to the seminal work of Beylkin, Coifman and Rokhlin, we studied the representation of blurring operators in wavelet bases. We showed that matrix-vector products can be rapidly computed in $O(N\epsilon^{-M/d})$ with a precision $\epsilon$ in spectral norm where $M$ is a scalar describing the regularity of the kernel. This type of approximations can be used to design restoration algorithms that are two orders of magnitude faster than current methods.The second class contains methods commonly used in the imaging community. They consist in constructing a low rank decomposition of the Time Varying Impulse Response (TVIR) $T : \Omega \times \Omega \to \mathbb{R}$ defined by $T(x,y) = K(x+y,y)$. Until now, those methods were partially studied and this work bridges the gap in the comprehension of their performances. Moreover, it allowed the identification of a representation that ``super'' compresses the operator. This representation appeals for the development of new identification strategies.In a second part, this work addresses the challenging problem of the estimation of operators. Recent theoretical works studied this problem but none of them can be implemented in targeted applications. In the specific case where some scattered impulse responses are observed, this work proposes the construction of an estimator of the operator that can be evaluated numerically in large dimensions. Theoretical guarantees on the performance of the estimator are also provided. \\Finally, this thesis studied other imaging problems. Images from light-sheet microscopy are degraded by stripe shaped attenuations. These phenomena can be modelled by multiplicative structured noises. This work proposes to solve a convex optimization and convincing results are obtained on real data.The development of quantitative indices that measure the similarity of images is a challenging question in imaging.The illumination of a scene can vary between two moments. Most indices are non invariant to these variations and will fail to assess the similarity of the same scene between the two instants. On voit apparaître ici les difficultés liées à ce problème de restauration des images qui sont i) le stockage de ce grand volume de données, ii) les coûts de calculs prohibitifs des produits matrice-vecteur. Ce problème souffre du fléau de la dimension. D'autre part, dans beaucoup d'applications, l'opérateur de flou n'est pas ou que partialement connu. Il y a donc deux problèmes complémentaires mais étroitement liés qui sont l'approximation et l'estimation des opérateurs de flou.Cette thèse a consisté à développer des nouveaux modèles et méthodes numériques permettant de traiter ces problèmes. Dans une première partie, ce travail a étudié les méthodes d'approximation des opérateurs intégraux. Elles peuvent être distinguées en deux groupes. Le plus étoffé contient les méthodes qui construisent une décomposition de rang faible du noyau $K$. Similairement aux travaux fondateurs du groupe de Beylkin, Coifman et Rokhlin, nous avons étudié les représentations des opérateurs de flou dans des bases d'ondelettes. Nous avons montré que les produits matrice-vecteur $Hu$ peuvent être appliqués en $O(N\epsilon^{-M/d})$ avec une précision $\epsilon$ où $M$ est un scalaire décrivant la régularité du noyau. Ces approximations peuvent donner lieu à des temps de restauration des images réduits de deux ordres de grandeurs.Les méthodes du deuxième groupe, couramment utilisées dans la communauté du traitement d'image, construisent une décomposition de rang faible de la Time Varying Impulse Response (TVIR) $T : \Omega \times \Omega \to \mathbb{R}$ définie par $T(x,y) = K(x+y,y)$. Elles sont restées jusqu'à présent non-étudiées et ce travail a permis de combler un manque dans la compréhension de leurs performances. De plus, il a permis d'identifier des représentations qui compressent considérablement les opérateurs et rendent possible l'estimation de l'opérateur.Dans une deuxième partie, ce travail aborde le délicat problème d'estimation des opérateurs. Récemment, de nouveaux travaux théoriques s'y sont intéressés, cependant aucun d'eux ne peut être implémenté en pratique. Dans le cas où quelques réponses impulsionnelles arbitrairement réparties dans l'espace sont connues, ce travail propose une construction d'un estimateur de l'opérateur qui soit numériquement applicable en grande dimension. Nous donnons aussi des garanties théoriques sur ses performances.Dans un troisième temps, cette thèse étudie d'autres types de dégradation. Les images issues de la microscopie à feuille de lumière sont altérées par des atténuations en forme de raies. Ce phénomène peut-être modélisé par un bruit multiplicatif structuré. Ce travail propose un modèle de résolution convexe qui rend le problème soluble aisément et qui donne des résultats probants sur des données réelles.Les indices de comparaison de deux images consistent une question délicate. Entre deux instants, une scène peut être illuminée différemment. Beaucoup d'indices sont sensibles à ces variations et échoueront à reconnaître la similarité de la scène entre deux instants. Nous avons proposé une mesure de similarité des images qui est invariante aux changements d'illumination.

Part of topic : Ambiantal experiences and experiments; International audience; The research looks into a diary of luminous ambiances to record and “revisit” spatial experiences using analytical and interpretive activities that can be performed after returning from a journey. This diary allows an initiation to synthetic thinking about light by developing a selection of specially devised restitution tools. The diary includes grids of evaluation to record lighting ambiances and moods, but also investigates graphical comparisons of ambiances by exploiting digitally analyzed images. This approach could potentially promote an experiential knowledge gained from the past to project it into the imagination and creation of new spaces of tomorrow.

The evolution of numerical methods and computational facilities allow re- searchers to explore complex physical phenomenons such as multiphase flows. The specific regime of incompressible, turbulent, bubbly two-phase flow (where a car- rier fluid is infused with bubbles or particles) is also receiving increased attention due to it’s appearance in major industrial processes. The main challenges arise from coupling individual aspects of the physics into a unified model and to provide a robust numerical framework. The presented work aimed at to achieve the second part by employing the most frequently used dispersed two-phase flow model and another incompressible, turbulent single phase solver as a base flow provider for coupled Lagrangian or surface tracking tools. Among the numerical techniques, the finite element method is a powerful can- didate when the need arises for multiphysics simulations (for example coupling with an electrochemical module) where the counterpart has a node based ap- proach. Stabilization schemes such as PSPG/SUPG/BULK provide remedies for the pressure decoupling and the inherent instability of the central discretization when applied for convective flow problems. As an alternative to unsteady solvers based upon an explicit or a fully im- plicit nonlinear treatment of the convective terms, a semi-implicit scheme results in a method of second order accurate in both space and time, has absolute linear stability and requires only a single or two linear system solution per time step. The application of the skew symmetric approach to the convective term further stabilizes the solution procedure and in some cases it even prevents divergence. The Eulerian-Eulerian two-phase flow model poses various issues to be over- come. The major difficulty is the density ratio between the phases; for an ordinary engineering problem it is in the order of thousands or more. The seemingly minus- cule differences in the formulation of the stabilizations can cause very different end results and require careful analysis. Volume fraction boundedness is of concern as well, but it is treatable by solving for its logarithm. Since the equations allow jumps (even separation of the phases) in the volume fraction field, discontinuity capturing techniques are also needed. Besides the standard ’spatial’ stabilization temporal smoothing is also necessary, otherwise the limitation in time step size becomes too stringent. Designing a flow solver is one side of the adventure, but verification is equally important. Comparison against analytical solution (such as the single and two- phase Taylor-Green testcase) provides insight and confirmation about the mathe- matical and physical properties. The present work deals with propagation of acoustic waves in periodic media. Thesemedia have particularly interesting properties since the spectrum associated with theunderlying wave operator in such media has a band-gap structure: there exist intervals offrequences for which monochromatic waves do not propagate. Moreover, by introducinglinear defects in this kind of media, one can create guided modes inside the bands offorbidden frequences. In this work we show that it is possible to create such guidedmodes in the case of particular periodic media of grid type: more precisely, the periodicdomain in question is R2 minus an infinite set of rectangular obstacles periodically spacedin two orthogonal directions (the distance between two neighbour obstacles being "),which is locally perturbed by diminishing the distance between two columns of obstacles.The results are extended to the 3D case.This work has a theoretical and a numerical aspect. From the theoretical point of view theanalysis is based on the fact that, " being small, the spectrum of the operator associatedwith our problem is "close" to the spectrum of a problem posed on a graph which is ageometric limit of the domain as " tends to 0. Granular materials consist of dense pack of solid grains and a pore-filling element such as a fluid or a solid matrix. The grains interact via elastic repulsion, friction, adhesion and other surface forces. External loading leads to grain deformations as well as cooperative particle rearrangements. The particle deformations are of particular importance in many industry applications and research subjects, such as powder metallurgy and soil mechanics. The response of granular materials to external loading is complex, especially in case when failure occurs: the mode of the failure can be diffuse or localized, and the development of specimen pattern can be drastically different when the specimen can no longer sustain external loading. In this thesis, a thorough numerical analysis based on a discrete element method is carried out to investigate the macroscopic and microscopic behavior of granular materials when a failure occurs. The numerical simulations include the vanishing of the second-order work instability criterion to detect failure. Furthermore, it is proved that the vanishing of second-order work coincides with the change from a quasi-static regime to a dynamic regime in the response of the specimen. Then, microstructure evolution is investigated. Evolution of force-chains and grain-loops are investigated during the deformation process until reaching the failure. The second-order work is once again taken into account to elucidate the local aspect that governs the failure, taking place at the particle scale. The collapse of the discrete specimen when it turns from quasi-static to dynamic regime is accompanied with a burst in kinetic energy. This rise of kinetic energy occurs when the internal stress cannot balance with the external loading when a small perturbation is added to the boundary, resulting in a difference between the internal and external second-order works of the system. The mesostructures have a symbiosis relationship with each other and their evolution decides the macroscopic behavior of the discrete system. The distribution of the collapse of force-chain correlates with the vanishing of the second-order work at the grain scale. The mesostructures play an important role in the instability of granular media. The second-order work can be used as an effective criterion to detect the instability of the system on both the macroscale and microscale (grain scale), Les matériaux granulaires se composent de grains solides et d’un constituant remplissant les pores, tel qu'un fluide ou une matrice solide. Les grains interagissent au travers de répulsions élastiques, auxquelles s’ajoutent des mécanismes de friction, d’adhérence et d'autres forces surfaciques. La sollicitation externe conduit à la déformation des grains ainsi qu’à des réarrangements de particules. Les déformations des milieux granulaires sont d'une importance capitale dans de nombreuses applications industrielles et dans la recherche, comme par exemple dans la métallurgie des poutres ou en mécanique des sols. La réponse des matériaux granulaires sous chargement externe est complexe, en particulier lorsqu’une rupture se produit: le mode de rupture peut être diffus ou localisé, et l’aspect de peut varier drastiquement lorsque celui-ci ne peut plus soutenir la charge externe. Dans le cadre de cette thèse, une analyse numérique basée sur une méthode des éléments discrets est réalisée pour étudier les comportements macroscopique et microscopique des matériaux granulaires à la rupture. Ces simulations numériques prennent en compte le critère du travail du second ordre afin de prédire la rupture. De plus il est montré que l’annulation du travail du second ordre coïncide avec la transition d’un régime statique vers un régime dynamique. Ensuite, le comportement matériaux granulaires est analysé à l’échelle micro-structurelle. L’évolution des chaines des forces et des cycles des grains est étudiée durant le processus de déformation jusqu’à la rupture. Le travail du second ordre est également pris en compte pour examiner l'aspect local qui régit la rupture à l’échelle locale. L'effondrement de l'échantillon discret quand il passe du régime quasi-statique vers le régime dynamique est accompagné d'une bouffée d'énergie cinétique. Cette augmentation de l'énergie cinétique est générée lorsque la contrainte interne ne permet pas d'équilibrer la force externe sous l’action d’une petite perturbation, ce qui entraîne une différence entre les travaux du second ordre interne et externe du système. Les mésostructures démontrent une relation symbiotique entre elles, et leur évolution gouverne le comportement macroscopique du système discret. La distribution de l'effondrement des chaînes de forces est parfaitement corrélée avec l’annulation du travail du second ordre à l'échelle de particules. Les mésostructures jouent un rôle important dans l'instabilité des milieux granulaires. Le travail du second ordre peut être utilisé comme un critère pertinent et robuste pour détecter l'instabilité du système que ce soit à l'échelle macroscopique ou microscopique (échelle de particule)

This paper exposes the theoretical developments needed to design a class of spatially weighted polynomial projections used in the definition of a compact limiter dedicated to high-order methods. The spectral volume framework and its integral representation of the solution is used to introduce the degree reduction of the polynomial interpolation. The degree reduction is conducted through a linear projection onto a smaller polynomial space. A particular care is taken regarding the conservativity property and results in a parametric framework where projections can be monitored with spatial weights. These projections are used to define a simple and compact high-order limiting procedure, the SWeP limiter. Then, numerical evaluations are performed using the spectral differences method for the mono-dimensional Euler equations and demonstrate the high-order behavior of the SWeP limiter.

Un algorithme permettant de discrétiser les équations aux dérivées partielles (EDP) tout en préservant leurs symétries de Lie est élaboré. Ceci est rendu possible grâce à l'utilisation de dérivées partielles discrètes se transformant comme les dérivées partielles continues sous l'action de groupes de Lie locaux. Dans les applications, beaucoup d'EDP sont invariantes sous l'action de transformations ponctuelles de Lie de dimension infinie qui font partie de ce que l'on désigne comme des pseudo-groupes de Lie. Afin d'étendre la méthode de discrétisation préservant les symétries à ces équations, une discrétisation des pseudo-groupes est proposée. Cette discrétisation a pour effet de transformer les symétries ponctuelles en symétries généralisées dans l'espace discret. Des schémas invariants sont ensuite créés pour un certain nombre d'EDP. Dans tous les cas, des tests numériques montrent que les schémas invariants approximent mieux leur équivalent continu que les différences finies standard., An algorithm discretizing partial differential equations (PDEs) while preserving their Lie symmetries is provided. This is made possible by the use of discrete partial derivatives transforming as their continuous counterparts under the action of local Lie groups. In applications, many PDEs are invariant under the action of Lie point symmetries of infinite dimension designated as Lie pseudo-groups. To extend the invariant discretization method to such equations, a discretization of pseudo-groups is proposed. The pseudo-group action discretization transforms the continuous point symmetries into generalized symmetries in the discrete space. Invariant schemes are then created for a number of PDEs. In all cases, numerical tests demonstrate that invariant schemes are better approximations of their continuous equivalents than standard finite differences.

We consider a variable metric line-search based proximal gradient method for the minimization of the sum of a smooth, possibly nonconvex function plus a convex, possibly nonsmooth term. We propose an iterative algorithm for the minimization of a $ell_1$-norm penalized least squares functional, under additional linear constraints. The algorithm is fully explicit: it uses only matrix multiplications with the three matrices present in the problem (in the linear constraint, in the data misfit part and in penalty term of the functional). None of the three matrices must be invertible. Convergence is proven in a finite-dimensional setting. We apply the algorithm to a synthetic problem in magneto-encephalography where it is used for the reconstruction of divergence-free current densities subject to a sparsity promoting penalty on the wavelet coefficients of the current densities. A qualitative comparison of total variation like penalties (total variation, Huber variant of total variation, total generalized variation, \ldots) is made in the context of global seismic tomography. Both penalized and constrained formulations of seismic recovery problems are treated. A number of simple iterative recovery algorithms applicable to these problems are described. The convergence speed of these algorithms is compared numerically in this setting. This article deals with the numerical approximation of effective coefficients in stochastic homogenization of discrete linear elliptic equations. The originality of this work is the use of a well-known abstract spectral representation formula to design and analyze effective and computable approximations of the homogenized coefficients. In particular, we show that information on the edge of the spectrum of the generator of the environment viewed by the particle projected on the local drift yields bounds on the approximation error, and conversely. International audience; Caused by the problem of unilateral contact during vibrations of satellite solar arrays, the aim of this paper is to better understand such a phenomenon. Therefore, it is studied here a simplified model composed by a beam moving between rigid obstacles. Our purpose is to describe and compare some families of fully discretized approximations and their properties, in the case of non-penetration Signorini's conditions. For this, starting from the works of Dumont and Paoli, we adapt to our beam model the singular dynamic method introduced by Renard. A particular emphasis is given in the use of a restitution coefficient in the impact law. Finally, various numerical results are presented and energy conservation capabilities of the schemes are investigated.

We consider multigrid methods with V-cycle for symmetric positive definite linear systems. We compare bounds on the convergence factor that are characterized by a constant which is the maximum over all levels of an expression involving only two consecutive levels. More particularly, we consider the classical bound by Hackbusch, a bound by McCormick, and a bound obtained by applying the successive subspace correction convergence theory with so-called a-orthogonal decomposition. We show that the constants in these bounds are closely related, and hence that these analyses are equivalent from the qualitative point of view. From the quantitative point of view, we show that the bound due to McCormick is always the best one. Mosquitoes of the genus Haemagogus are important vectors of yellow fever virus and other arboviruses and are the principal reservoirs of these viruses in nature. Haemagogus capricornii and Haemagogus janthinomys are closely related species between which females are morphologically cryptic. A morphometric study of these species was performed on male and female specimens from 14 municipalities in Brazil. Morphometric analyses were able to distinguish females. Multivariate morphometrics may be a useful tool for taxonomic studies of cryptic species in this group.

Aggregation-based multigrid with standard piecewise constant like prolongation is investigated. Unknowns are aggregated either by pairs or by quadruplets; in the latter case the grouping may be either linewise or boxwise. A Fourier analysis is developed for a model twodimensional anisotropic problem. Most of the results are stated for an arbitrary smoother (which fits with the Fourier analysis framework). It turns out that the convergence factor of two-grid schemes can be bounded independently of the grid size. With a sensible choice of the (linewise or boxwise) coarsening, the bound is also uniform with respect to the anisotropy ratio, without requiring a specialized smoother. The bound is too large to guarantee optimal convergence properties with the V-cycle or the standard W-cycle, but a W-cycle scheme accelerated by the recursive use of the conjugate gradient method exhibits near grid independent convergence. © 2008 Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics., info:eu-repo/semantics/published

The schemes are then tested on shock simulations of DPDE fluids, where we show that our schemes bring an improvement on the accuracy of the description of the behavior of such systems compared to existing straightforwardly parallelizable schemes. Finally, we present an attempt at accelerating a reference DPDE integration scheme on sequential simulations, Cette thèse concerne l’analyse et le développement de schémas d’intégration numérique de la Dynamique des Particules Dissipatives. The scaled gradient projection (SGP) method is a first-order optimization method applicable to the constrained minimization of smooth functions and exploiting a scaling matrix multiplying the gradient and a variable steplength parameter to improve the convergence of the scheme. For a general nonconvex function, the limit points of the sequence generated by SGP have been proved to be stationary, while in the convex case and with some restrictions on the choice of the scaling matrix the sequence itself converges to a constrained minimum point. This thesis presents an effective method to automatically construct trivariate tensor-product spline models of complicated geometry and arbitrary topology. Our method takes as input a solid model defined by its triangulated boundary. Using cuboid decomposition, an initial polycube approximating the input boundary mesh is built. This polycube serves as the parametric domain of the tensor-product spline representation required for isogeometric analysis. The polycube's nodes and arcs decompose the input model locally into quadrangular patches, and globally into hexahedral domains. Using aligned global parameterization, the nodes are re-positioned and the arcs are re-routed across the surface in a way to achieve low overall patch distortion, and alignment to principal curvature directions and sharp features. The optimization process is based on one of the main contributions of this thesis: a novel way to design cross fields with topological (i.e., imposed singularities) and geometrical (i.e., imposed directions) constraints by solving only sparse linear systems. Based on the optimized polycube and parameterization, compatible B-spline boundary surfaces are reconstructed. Finally, the interior volumetric parameterization is computed using Coon's interpolation and the B-spline surfaces as boundary conditions. This method can be applied to reduced order modeling for parametric studies based on geometrical parameters. For models with the same topology but different geometries, this method allows to have the same representation: i.e., meshes (or parameterizations) with the same topology., Cette thèse présente un algorithme automatique pour la construction d’un modèle NURBS volumique à partir d’un modèle représenté par ses bords (maillages ou splines). Ce type de modèle est indispensable dans le cadre de l’analyse isogéométrique utilisant les NURBS comme fonctions de forme. Le point d’entrée de l’algorithme est une triangulation du bord du modèle. Après deux étapes de décomposition, le modèle est approché par un polycube. Ensuite un paramétrage surfacique entre le bord du modèle et celui du polycube est établi en calculant un paramétrage global aligné à un champ de direction interpolant les directions de courbure principales du modèle. Finalement, le paramétrage volumique est obtenu en se basant sur ce paramétrage surfacique. Dans le contexte des études paramétriques basées sur des paramètres de formes géométriques, cette méthode peut être appliquée aux techniques de réduction de modèles pour obtenir la même représentation pour des objets ayant différentes géométries mais la même topologie.

We present a sparse linear system solver that is based on a multifrontal variant of Gaussian elimination and exploits low-rank approximation of the resulting dense frontal matrices. We use hierarchically semiseparable (HSS) matrices, which have low-rank off-diagonal blocks, to approximate the frontal matrices. For HSS matrix construction, a randomized sampling algorithm is used together with interpolative decompositions. The combination of the randomized compression with a fast ULV HSS factorization leads to a solver with lower computational complexity than the standard multifrontal method for many applications, resulting in speedups up to sevenfold for problems in our test suite. The implementation targets many-core systems by using task parallelism with dynamic runtime scheduling. Numerical experiments show performance improvements over state-of-the-art sparse direct solvers. The implementation achieves high performance and good scalability on a range of modern shared memory parallel systems, including the Intel Xeon Phi (MIC). The present work investigates the steady-state creep behavior of Stress Relieved Annealed Zircaloy-4 claddings under thermo-mechanical conditions simulating a Loss-Of-Coolant Accident (LOCA) in a primary loop of Pressurized Water Reactors. It is part of the PERFROI project focusing on the flow blockage within fuel rods bundle and its potential impact on the cool ability of a nuclear core reactor. The present work includes three main elements that are (a) the design, the performance and the processing of an innovative experiment, (b) the modeling of the tests and the determination of steady-state creep constitutive laws at temperatures ranging from 750 to 850 °C and (c) the preliminary study of the corrosion effect on the Zr-4 claddings creep behavior. An experiment addressing to heterogeneous thermal conditions was designed using an induction heating device. The creep behavior of metals at high temperatures is known to be very sensitive to the temperature. Under an internal pressurization of the cladding this thermal gradient induces its heterogeneous deformation. Using this configuration and three successive internal pressure loadings with a single experiment a lot of thermal mechanical conditions are available. Both thermal and kinematics full field measurements are performed into a 20 mm gauge length located between the induction coils using respectively near infra-red thermography and two dimensional digital image correlation. These two key digital image methods are assessed using dedicated experiments. The tests are modeled using the ABAQUS commercial software. The expected creep behavior law is updated using finite element model calculations included into a Gauss-Newton solver. The method was validated using virtual experiments and then applied to the actual tests. A high consistency between the experiments is obtained and is in agreement with available literature data. Norton exponent and activation energy maps are plotted into the thermal mechanical condition range of interest. These parameters highlight changes of dominant deformation mechanisms in the alpha-phase domain at a 26 MPa von Mises stress and of micro-structure at an 810 °C temperature (at which phase transformation is expected). In the mixed phase domain, the material parameters are similar to those associated in the literature data with super plasticity deformation mechanism. Finally, experiments are performed on pre-oxidized samples at 800 °C. The rupture of the outer zirconia and oxygen enriched alpha layers is observed during the test at a 1.1\% hoop strain., L'étude réalisée au cours de cette thèse s'intéresse au fluage secondaire de gainages de Zircaloy-4 détendu dans des conditions représentatives d'un Accident de Perte de Réfrigérant Primaire (APRP) dans le circuit primaire d'un réacteur à eau pressurisée. Elle s'intègre dans le cadre du projet ANR PERFROI. Ce travail s'articule autour de trois axes que sont la conception d'essais de fluage à haute température et en pression interne sur des gaines, leur réalisation et exploitation, la modélisation de ces essais et la caractérisation du comportement au fluage secondaire de cet alliage, et l'étude du fluage secondaire d'éprouvettes de Zr-4 pré-oxydées. Le banc d'essai est conçu pour induire un chargement thermique hétérogène le long des éprouvettes tubulaires testées en utilisant un chauffage par induction. Le fluage à haute température des métaux est très dépendant de la température. Ce gradient thermique couplé à une pression interne mène alors à une déformation hétérogène de l'éprouvette dans l'axe du tube. En réalisant plusieurs chargements en pression interne, plusieurs conditions thermo-mécaniques sont appliquées en un seul essai. Les essais sont instrumentés de manière à mesurer les distributions cinématique et thermique dans une région de 20 mm située entre les spires de l'inducteur. Deux méthodes d'analyse d'images numériques sont adaptées dans ce but et ont été validées par des essais dédiés. Les essais sont modélisés sous le logiciel commercial ABAQUS6.11-2. Un recalage d'une loi de fluage secondaire est réalisé, par des calculs éléments finis intégrés dans un solveur de Gauss-Newton. Cette démarche est validée avec un essai virtuel puis appliquée à 9 essais réalisés sur des échantillons de Zr-4 vierge. Les résultats permettent de déterminer à la fois l'influence de la température et du chargement mécanique de manière fine pour la gamme de température et pression souhaitée. Ils mettent en évidence un changement brutal de comportement à une température de 810 °C, correspondant au début de la transition de la phase alpha vers un matériau biphasé. De plus, les exposants de Norton identifiés dans le domaine alpha pour des contraintes inférieures à 25 MPa sont de l'ordre de l'unité, et entre 4 et 5 pour les contraintes supérieures. Ces ordres de grandeurs sont respectivement associés dans la littérature à des mécanismes de fluage par diffusion et dislocation. Au-dessus de 810 °C, les caractéristiques associées dans la littérature à la superplasticité sont mis en évidence : l'exposant de Norton est compris entre 2,5 et 3,5 et l'énergie d'activation est supérieure à 300 kJ/mol. Des essais sont enfin menés sur des éprouvettes seulement pré-hydrurées, puis pré-oxydées et pré-hydrurées. Les mesures réalisées pendant ces essais sont associées à des métallographies pour mettre en évidence l'effet des couches de zircone et de phase alpha enrichie en oxygène sur la déformation de la gaine à 800 °C.

La rédaction de ce mémoire de fin de cursus de master Ingénierie Documentaire Édition et Médiation Multimédia (IDEMM) s'est effectué dans le cadre du stage réalisé au sein de l'agence Altimao située à Roubaix. L'objectif principal de ce document est d'appréhender et de comprendre précisément le parcours de l'information permettant de comprendre les processus d'analyses des activités en lignes afin d'optimiser la stratégie de présence en ligne des entreprises. L'étude va donc permettre de suivre ce parcours en partant de la donnée la plus simple jusqu'à la constitution du savoir nécessaire à la mise en place des différentes actions.

We present an algebraic structured preconditioner for the iterative solution of large sparse linear systems. The preconditioner is based on a multifrontal variant of sparse LU factorization used with nested dissection ordering. Multifrontal factorization amounts to a partial factorization of a sequence of logically dense frontal matrices, and the preconditioner is obtained if structured factorization is used instead. This latter exploits the presence of low numerical rank in some off-diagonal blocks of the frontal matrices. An algebraic procedure is presented that allows to identify the hierarchy of the off-diagonal blocks with low numerical rank based on the sparsity of the system matrix. This procedure is motivated by a model problem analysis, yet numerical experiments show that it is successful beyond the model problem scope. Further aspects relevant for the algebraic structured preconditioner are discussed and illustrated with numerical experiments. We consider linear systems whose matrices are Laplacians of undirected graphs. We present a new aggregation-based algebraic multigrid method designed to achieve robustness for this class of problems, despite the diversity of connectivity patterns encountered in practical applications. These indeed range from regular mesh graphs to scale-free type of graphs associated with social networks. The method is based on the recursive static elimination of the vertices of degree 1 combined with a new Degree-aware Rooted Aggregation (DRA) algorithm. This algorithm always produces aggregates big enough so that the cost per iteration is low, whereas reasonable convergence is observed when the approach is combined with the K-cycle. The robustness of the resulting method is illustrated on a large collection of test problems, and its effectiveness is assessed via the comparison with a state-of-the-art reference method., info:eu-repo/semantics/published

the objective of this thesis is to develop models and algorithms to simulate efficiently the mass exchanges occuring at the interface between the nuclear waste deep geological repositories and the ventilation excavated galleries. To model such physical processes, one needs to account in the porous medium for the flow of the liquid and gas phases including the vaporization of the water component in the gas phase and the dissolution of the gaseous components in the liquid phase. In the free flow region, a single phase gas free flow is considered assuming that the liquid phase is instantaneously vaporized at the interface. This gas free flow has to be compositional to account for the change of the relative humidity in the free flow region which has a strong feedback on the liquid flow rate at the interface. In chapter 1, three formulations of the gas liquid compositional Darcy flow are studied. Their equivalence from the point of phase transitions is shown and they are compared numerically on 1D and 3D test cases including gas appearance and liquid disappearance. The 3D discretization is based on the Vertex Approximate Gradient (VAG) scheme and takes into account discontinuous capillary pressures. In chapter 2, a reduced model coupling a 3D gas liquid compositional Darcy flow in a fractured porous medium, and a 1D compositional free gas flow is introduced. The VAG discretization is extended to such models taking into account the coupling between the 3D matrix, the 2D network of fractures and the 1D gallery. Its convergence is studied both for the linear single phase stationary model and for a non linear model coupling the Richards equation to a single phase 1D flow or a 1D tracer equation in the gallery. Different test cases with Andra data sets are presented.In Chapter 3, a splitting algorithm to solve the coupling between the gas liquid compositional Darcy flow in the porous medium and the gas compositional free flow in thegallery is developed. The idea is to solve, in a first step, the porous medium equations coupled to the convection diffusion equations for the gas molar fractions in the gallery at fixed velocity and pressure in the gallery. Then, the total molar normal flux at the interface is computed and used in the second step of the algorithm to compute the velocity and pressure in the gallery solving the Navier Stokes equations. This algorithm is tested on several 2D test cases and the solutions obtained are compared with the ones obtained by the previous reduced model. To that end, the gas molar fraction boundary layer thickness used as a parameter in the reduced model is computed based on a low frequency diagonal approximation of a Steklov Poincar´e type operator for the stationary convection diffusion equation at fixed velocity.; L'objectif de cette thèse est de fournir des modèles et des outils de simulation pour d'écrire les échanges de masse entre les circuits de ventilation (galeries) et les milieux poreux des ouvrages souterrains d’enfouissement des déchets nucléaires. La modélisation prend en compte le couplage à l’interface poreux-galerie entre les écoulements liquide gaz compositionnels dans le milieu poreux constituant le stockage et les écoulements gazeux compositionnels dans le milieu galerie libre. Dans le chapitre 1 on étudie trois différentes formulations de l’écoulement gaz liquide compositionnel dans le milieu poreux dont on montre l’équivalence du point de vue des transitions de phases. Ces formulations sont comparées num´eriquement sur des cas tests 1D puis 3D discrétisés en espace par le schéma Vertex Approximate Gradient (VAG). Le Chapitre 2 se concentre sur un modèle réduit couplant les écoulements diphasiques compositionnels 3D en milieu poreux et l’écoulement monophasique compositionnel 1D dans la galerie. Il suppose que l’extension longitudinale de la galerie est grande par rapportà son diamètre. Le modèle poreux prend aussi en compte les échanges entre un réseau de fractures discrètes de co-dimension 1 et le milieu matriciel environnant. Le schéma VAG est étendu afin de prendre en compte le couplage entre les écoulements 3D dans la matrice,2D dans le réseau de fractures discrètes et 1D dans la galerie. La convergence de cette discrétisation est étudiée dans le cas du modèle linéaire monophasique stationnaire ainsi que dans le cas d’un modèle non linéaire couplant l’équation de Richards à l’écoulement1D monophasique ou de type traceur dans la galerie. Différents cas tests correspondant au jeu de données Andra sont présentés.Le chapitre 3 développe un algorithme de point fixe pour résoudre le couplage entre les écoulements gaz liquide dans le milieu poreux et l’écoulement gazeux libre dans la galerie. Cet algorithme repose sur la compréhension des couplages forts et faibles dans le système. Il consiste à résoudre, dans une première étape, l’écoulement dans le milieu poreux couplé aux équations de convection diffusion sur les fractions molaires dans lagalerie à vitesse fixée. Dans une deuxième étape, connaissant le flux total à l’interface, il résout les équations de Navier Stokes pour déterminer la vitesse et la pression dans la galerie. Cet algorithme est étudié sur différents cas tests posés par l’Andra et les solutions obtenues sont comparées à celles du modèle réduit du chapitre précédent. Pour cela, l’épaisseur de la couche limite visqueuse en concentration d’eau dans la galerie est approchée par une approximation diagonale basse fréquence de l’opérateur de Steklov Poincaré associé à l’équation de convection diffusion à vitesse fixée dans la galerie.

In this work, we study a finite element scheme we apply to a model describing saltwater intrusion into coastal aquifers confined and free. The model is based on the hydraulic approach of vertically averaging the 3D original problem, this approximation is based on a quasi-hydrostatic flow hypothesis which, instead of the walls and springs, is checked. To model the interface between freshwater and salt water (respectively between the saturated zone and dry zone), we combine the approach net interface (approach with the diffuse interface) ; This approach is derived from the phase field theory introduced by Allen-Cahn, to describe the phenomena of transition between two zones. Given these approximations, the problem consists of a strongly couple to edps parabolic quasi-linear system in the case of unconfined aquifers describing the evolution of the depths of two free surfaces and elliptical-parabolic type in the case confined aquifer, the unknowns being then the depth of salt water / fresh water and the hydraulic load of fresh water. In the first part of the thesis, we give in the case of a confined aquifer, error estimation results of a semi-implicit scheme in a combined time discretization space finite element type Pk Lagrange. This result among other uses a regularity result of the gradient of the exact solution in the space Lr(ΩT), r > 2, which can handle the non-linearity and to establish the error estimate under assumptions reasonable regularity of the exact solution. In the second part of the thesis, we generalize the previous study to the case of the free aquifer. The main difficulty is related to the complexity of the system of parabolic edps but again, thanks to regularity result Lr(ΩT), r > 2 gradients established for the free surfaces, we show that the scheme is of order 1 time and space k for sufficiently regular solutions. We conclude this work by numerical simulations in different contexts (impact of porosity and hydraulic conductivity of the evolution of the interface, and pumping fresh water injection, tidal effects) thus validating the model and diagram. The we compare the results with those obtained using a finite volume scheme constructed from a structured mesh., Dans ce travail, nous étudions un schéma élément fini que nous appliquons à un modèle décrivant l'intrusion saline dans les aquifères côtiers confinés et libres. Le modèle est basé sur l'approche hydraulique qui consiste à moyenner verticalement le problème initial 3D, cette approximation repose sur une hypothèse d'écoulement quasi-hydrostatique qui, loin des épontes et des sources, est vérifiée. Pour modéliser les interfaces entre l'eau douce et l'eau salée (respectivement entre la zone saturée et la zone sèche), nous combinons l'approche 'interface nette' à l'approche avec 'interface diffuse' ; cette approche est déduite de la théorie de champ de phase, introduite par Allen-Cahn, pour décrire les phénomènes de transition entre deux zones. Compte tenu de ces approximations, le problème consiste en un système fortement couplé d'edps quasi-linéaires de type parabolique dans le cas des aquifères libres décrivant l'évolution des profondeurs des 2 surfaces libres et de type elliptique-prabolique dans le cas des aquifères confinés, les inconnues étant alors la profondeur de l'interface eau salée/eau douce et la charge hydraulique de l'eau douce. Dans la première partie de la thèse, nous donnons dans le cas d'un aquifère confiné, des résultats d'estimation d'erreur d'un schéma semi-implicite en temps combiné à une discrétisation en espace de type élément fini Pk Lagrange. Ce résultat utilise entre autre un résultat de régularité du gradient de la solution exacte dans l'espace Lr(ΩT), r > 2, ce qui permet de traiter la non-linéarité et d'établir l'estimation d'erreur sous des hypothèses de régularité raisonnables de la solution exacte. Dans la seconde partie de la thèse, nous généralisons l'étude précédente au cas de l'aquifère libre. La difficulté principale est liée à la complexité du système d'edps paraboliques mais à nouveau, grâce au résultat de régularité Lr(ΩT), r > 2 établi pour les gradients des surfaces libres, nous montrons que le schéma est d'ordre 1 en temps et k en espace pour des solutions suffisamment régulières. Nous concluons ce travail par des simulations numériques dans différents contextes (impact de la porosité et de la conductivité hydraulique sur l'évolution de l'interface, pompage et injection d'eau douce, effet des marées) validant ainsi le modèle et le schéma. Puis nous comparons les résultats à ceux obtenus avec un schéma volume fini construit à partir d'un maillage structuré.

This thesis presents some original work in the field of high order averaging procedure. In particular, we are interested in stroboscopic and quasi-stroboscopic averaging procedure in abstract Banach or Hilbert spaces. This procedures is applied to concrete examples: some highly oscillatory evolution equations. More precisely, we first show a theorem of stroboscopic averaging in a Banach space where we obtain exponential error estimates. This theorem is then applied on two semi-linear and highly oscillatory wave equations. We also put in evidence that the {\it Stroboscopic Averaging Method} works fine with a semi-linear wave equation with Dirichlet conditions. Finally, the averaging procedure puts in evidence, numerically, an interesting dynamics regarding the semi-linear wave equation with Dirichlet conditions. In a second part, we present a quasi-stroboscopic averaging theorem in a Hilbert space with exponential error estimates. This theorem is applied on a semi-linear Schrödinger equation. This equation has first, to be project in a finite dimensional space in order to fit in the hypotheses of the theorem. We then write a quasi-stroboscopic averaging theorem for a semi-linear Schrödinger equation with polynomial error estimates., Cette thèse présente des travaux originaux dans le domaine des méthodes de moyennisation d'ordre élevé. On s'intéresse notamment à des procédures de moyennisation dite stroboscopique ou quasi-stroboscopique dans des espaces de Banach ou de Hilbert. Ces procédures sont ensuite appliquées à des exemples concrets: des équations d'évolutions hautement oscillantes. Plus précisément, on montre dans un premier temps un résultat de moyennisation stroboscopique dans un espace de Banach où l'on obtient des estimations d'erreurs exponentielles. Ce théorème est ensuite appliqué sur deux équations des ondes semi-linéaire hautement oscillantes. On montre également que la Stroboscopic Averaging Method s'applique à une équation des ondes semi-linéaire avec conditions de Dirichlet. On trouve enfin numériquement, une dynamique intéressante de l'équation des ondes semi-linéaire mise en lumière par la procédure de moyennisation. Dans un second temps, on présente un théorème de moyennisation quasi-stroboscopique dans un espace de Hilbert quelconque avec des estimations d'erreurs exponentielles. Ce théorème est alors appliqué de façon indirecte à une équation de Schrödinger semi-linéaire oscillante. Cette équation est d'abord projeté dans un espace de dimension finie pour qu'on puisse lui appliquer le théorème de moyennisation quasi-stroboscopique. On écrit alors un résultat de moyennisation quasi-stroboscopique pour l'équation de Schrödinger semi-linéaire avec des estimations d'erreur polynomiales.

Ce mémoire de synthèse rassemble la plupart de nos travaux de recherche réalisés depuis la fin de la thèse de doctorat. Ils sont regroupés en trois chapitres indépendants correspondant aux trois axes de recherche acquis au cours de la thèse et lors de différents séjours postdoctoraux (au Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, puis au Laboratoire MAPMO). Le premier chapitre résume les travaux qui portent sur l'utilisation des espaces à poids afin de décrire le comportement à l'infini des solutions de problèmes elliptiques en domaine non borné. Nous commençons par présenter nos travaux sur les équations de Navier-Stokes et d'Oseen en domaine extérieur, décrivant un écoulement de fluide visqueux et incompressible autour d'un obstacle borné. Une attention particulière est portée à la description du sillage apparaissant derrière l'obstacle durant l'écoulement. Nous rappelons ensuite les propriétés principales d'une classe particulière d'espaces de Sobolev à poids qui a été initialement utilisée pour résoudre le problème extérieur de Laplace et dont on utilisera dans la suite du chapitre. Nous poursuivons par présenter l'étude de solutions explicites des équations d'Oseen effectuée en collaboration avec Chérif Amrouche et Hamid Bouzit. Enfin, nous terminons le chapitre par un travail réalisé en collaboration avec Hela Louati et Mohamed Meslameni sur le système div-rot en domaine extérieur.Le deuxième chapitre est consacré à la simulation numérique, basée sur des schémas volumes finis, de lois de conservation hyperboliques. Nous avons choisi de présenter, en premier lieu, les travaux qui sont directement liés à une application précise. Aussi, nous commençons par un problème de trafic piétonnier décrit par une loi de conservation avec une contrainte sur le flux. Ce travail a débuté dans le cadre du projet ANR jcjc CoToCoLa et a été fait en collaboration avec Boris Andreianov, Carlotta Donadello et Massimiliano D. Rosini. Nous continuons avec un travail effectué lors du séjour postdoctoral au Laboratoire MAPMO dans le cadre du projet ANR blanc Methode et en collaboration avec Stéphane Cordier, Frédéric Darboux, Olivier Delestre, François James et Carine Lucas. L'objectif était proposer un modèle basé sur les équations de Saint-Venant, pour décrire le ruissellement d'eau sur des surfaces agricoles en prenant en compte les effets des sillons sans devoir représenter explicitement ces derniers. Nous poursuivons par un travail réalisé en collaboration avec Antoine Perasso, sur l'étude de la persistance ou non d'une infection au sein d'une population. Le modèle repose sur un système couplé d'une équation différentielle et d'une équation de transport structuré en charge d'infection. Enfin, nous terminons le chapitre par un travail effectué en collaboration avec Boris Andreianov, Carlotta Donadello et Shyam Sundar Ghoshal dans le cadre du projet CoToCoLa, sur la caractérisation des états atteignables d'un système triangulaire de lois de conservation.Le troisième chapitre traite des méthodes numériques, appelées méthodes de bases réduites qui permettent de réduire les coûts et les temps de calcul dans les problèmes paramétriques. Cette partie a été réalisée lors du séjour postdoctoral au Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions. Nous commençons par l'application de ces méthodes aux équations de Maxwell pour des problèmes de balayage de fréquence d'appareils à circuits micro-ondes. Ce travail a été fait en collaboration avec Valentin de la Rubia et Yvon Maday. Nous terminons le chapitre par un travail en collaboration avec Yvon Maday sur l'application des méthodes de bases réduites au calcul de l'énergie électronique de molécules en chimie quantique.Enfin, dans le quatrième et dernier chapitre qui est très court, nous présentons de manière succinte quelques travaux actuellement en cours ou en projet

International audience; The computational burden associated to finite element based digital image correlation methods is mostly due to the inversion of finite element systems and to image interpolations. A non-overlapping dual domain decomposition method is here proposed to rationalize the computational cost of high resolution finite element digital image correlation measurements when dealing with large images. It consists in splitting the global mesh into submeshes and the reference and deformed states images into subset images. Classic finite element digital image correlation formulations are first written in each subdomain independently. The displacement continuity at the interfaces is enforced by introducing a set of Lagrange multipliers. The problem is then condensed on the interface and solved by a conjuguate gradient algorithm. Three different preconditionners are proposed to accelerate its convergence. The proposed domain decomposition method is here exemplified with real high resolution images. It is shown to combine the metrological performances of finite element based digital image correlation and the parallelisation ability of subset based methods.

This thesis deals with the mathematical and numerical analysis of the systems of compressible hydrodynamics and radiative transfer. More precisely, we study the derivation of numerical methods with 2D polar coordinates (one for the radius, one for the angle) where equations are discretized on regular polar grids. On one hand, these methods are well-suited for the simulation of flows with polar symetries since they preserve these symetries by construction. On the other hand, such coordinates systems introduce geometrical singularities as well as geometrical source terms which must be carefully treated. The first part of this document is devoted to the study of hydrodynamics equations, or Euler equations. We propose a new class of arbitrary high-order numerical schemes in both space and time and rely on directional splitting methods for the resolution of 2D equations. Each sub-system is solved using a Lagrange+Remap solver. We study the influence of the r=0 geometrical singularities of the cylindrical and spherical coordinates systems on the precision of the 2D numerical solutions. The second part of this document is devoted to the study of radiative transfer equations. In these equations, the unknowns depend on a large number of variables and a stiff source term is involved. The main difficulty consists in capturing the correct asymptotic behavior on coarse grids. We first construct a class of models where the radiative intensity is projected on a truncated spherical harmonics basis in order to lower the number of mathematical dimensions. Then we propose an Asymptotic Preserving scheme built in polar coordinates and we show that the scheme capture the correct diffusion limit in the radial direction as well as in the polar direction.; Ce manuscrit de thèse est consacré à l'analyse mathématique et numérique des systèmes de l'hydrodynamique compressible et de la photonique. Plus particulièrement, on étudie la construction de méthodes numériques dans des systèmes de coordonnées 2D polaires (une coordonnée radiale et une coordonnée d'angle) et où les équations sont discrétisées sur des maillages polaires structurés. Ces méthodes sont adaptées à la simulation d'écoulements à symétrie polaire puisqu'elles préservent ces symétries par construction. En revanche, ces systèmes de coordonnées introduisent des singularités géométriques et des termes sources géométriques qui doivent être traités avec attention. Dans la première partie de ce document, consacrée à l'hydrodynamique, on propose une classe de schémas numériques d'ordre arbitrairement élevé pour la résolution des équations d'Euler. Ces schémas utilisent des méthodes de résolution à directions alternées où chaque sous-système est résolu par un solveur Lagrange+projection. On étudie l'influence de la singularité géométrique r=0 des systèmes de coordonnées cylindriques et sphériques sur la précision du solveur 2D développé. La deuxième partie de ce manuscrit est consacrée à l'étude des équations de la photonique. Ces équations font intervenir un grand nombre de dimensions mathématiques et un terme source pouvant être raide. La principale difficulté ici est de capturer le bon régime asymptotique sur maillage grossier. On construit d'abord une classe de modèles où l'intensité radiative est projetée sur une base d'harmoniques sphériques afin de réduire le nombre de dimensions. Puis on propose un schéma numérique en coordonnées polaires et on prouve que le schéma restitue la bonne limite de diffusion aussi bien dans la direction radiale que dans la direction angulaire.

The only rigorous approaches for achieving a numerical proof of optimality in global optimization are interval-based methods that interleave branching of the search-space and pruning of the subdomains that cannot contain an optimal solution. State-of-the-art solvers generally integrate local optimization algorithms to compute a good upper bound of the global minimum over each subspace. In this document, we propose a cooperative framework in which interval methods cooperate with evolutionary algorithms. The latter are stochastic algorithms in which a population of candidate solutions iteratively evolves in the search-space to reach satisfactory solutions. Within our cooperative solver Charibde, the evolutionary algorithm and the interval-based algorithm run in parallel and exchange bounds, solutions and search-space in an advanced manner via message passing. A comparison of Charibde with state-of-the-art interval-based solvers (GlobSol, IBBA, Ibex) and NLP solvers (Couenne, BARON) on a benchmark of difficult COCONUT problems shows that Charibde is highly competitive against non-rigorous solvers and converges faster than rigorous solvers by an order of magnitude., 21st International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming (CP 2015), 2015

This thesis is dedicated to the study of the fictitious domain methods for the finite element methods. These methods, initially designed for the fluid-structure interaction, consist in immersing the real domain in a simply-shaped and a geometrically bigger domain called the fictitious domain. We apply these methods to a unilateral frictionless contact problem in small deformation of two deformable elastics bodies separated by an initial gap and satisfying boundary Dirichlet and Neumann conditions. The first two chapters are devoted to the introduction of these methods and to the unilateral contact problem. The chapter 3 is dedicated to a theoretical study for Dirichlet and contact boundary conditions taken into account with a Nitsche type method. Some theoretical results are presented: the consistency of the discrete method, existence and uniqueness results. To obtain an optimal a priori error estimate, a stabilized fictitious domain method is necessary. These results are numerically validated using Hertz contact in two and three dimensions. The chapter 4 is devoted to the study of a residual-based a posteriori error estimator, without the fictitious domain approach, between an elastic body and rigid obstacle. The numerical study of two tests cases will be performed: a rectangular domain with only a part of the potential zone of contact in effective contact as well as a Hertz contact in two and three dimensions. The chapter 5 is a generalization of the chapter 4 to the fictitious domain approach and the care of to two elastics bodies., Cette thèse est consacrée à l’étude de méthodes de domaines fictifs pour les éléments finis. Ces méthodes, initialement conçues pour l’approximation de problèmes d’interactions fluide/structure, consistent à prolonger un domaine réel par un domaine de géométrie simple appelé domaine fictif. On applique ces méthodes à un problème de contact unilatéral sans frottement en petite déformation entre deux corps élastiques séparés par une distance initiale non nulle et possédant par ailleurs des conditions aux bords de type Dirichlet et Neumann. Les deux premiers chapitres sont consacrés à l’introduction des méthodes de domaines fictifs et du problème unilatéral de contact de deux corps élastiques. Le chapitre 3 est consacré à l’analyse a priori et à l’étude numérique de ce problème de contact en domaine fictif avec les conditions aux bords de Dirichlet et de contact qui sont prises en compte à l’aide d’une méthode de type Nitsche. Des résultats théoriques de consistance de la méthode discrète, d’existence et d’unicité sont présentés. Afin d’obtenir une estimation d’erreur a priori optimale, une stabilisation de la méthode de domaine fictif est nécessaire. Ces résultats sont validés numériquement sur des cas tests en dimensions deux et trois. Le chapitre 4 est consacré à l’étude d’un estimateur d’erreur de type résidu d’un problème de contact sans domaine fictif entre un corps élastique et un corps rigide. Les résultats théoriques sont également validés sur deux cas tests numériques : un domaine rectangulaire avec seulement une partie de la zone de contact en contact effectif ainsi qu’un contact de type Hertz en dimensions deux et trois. Le chapitre 5 est une généralisation du chapitre 4 à l’approche domaine fictif et au cas de deux corps élastiques.

L’identification de la loi de probabilité du vecteur composé des valeurs propres et paramètres effectifs aléatoires est réalisée en 3 étapes : sélection des modes prépondérants, discrimination des lois jointes à identifier, identification de ces lois de probabilité de grandes dimensions par décomposition Vine(copules bidimensionnelles).
