201. Predictive factors for foot pain in the adult population

Abstract

Abstract Background Foot pain has been associated to factors like: fat, body mass index, age increased, female gender and the presence of pathologies. Although evidence is limited. The purpose is to determine the predictive factors for foot pain in the adult population. Methods From January to December 2021, 457 patients were > 18 years, gave signed informed consent to take part to this cross sectional study. All completed demographic data and various questionnaires related to pain: Foot Function Index, EuroQoL-5D and Visual Analogue Scale (foot pain). Anthropometric measurements were obtained using McPoil platform and foot posture was assessed by the Foot Posture Index (FPI). To determine whether a volume change is a predictive factor for foot pain, a parameter was established: the volumetric index for footwear (VIF). Factors linked to the presence of pain, including the considered VIF variables, were analyzed through multivariable logistic regression. Results Among the study population, 40.7% were male and 59.3% female. The mean age of 39.06 years and a body mass index of 25.58 Kg/cm2. The logistic regression model had a classification capability of 72.4%, a sensitivity of 72.3% and a specificity of 73%, in which, the predictors considered were the variables found to have a significant association with FFI-pain > 45 points,, showed that younger women, with a higher BMI, higher values of right FPI (pronation), poorer overall perceived health and with problems in walking were more likely to experience foot pain. Conclusion Predictive factors for foot pain in the adult population include gender, age, Body Mass Index, FPI on the right foot, perceived health and mobility. Clinical implication, the presented measure aids physicians in assessing their patients´ foot pain likelihood.

Abstract

Quantum information processing holds great promise for pushing beyond the current frontiers in computing. Specifically, quantum computation promises to accelerate the solving of certain problems, and there are many opportunities for innovation based on applications in chemistry, engineering, and finance. To harness the full potential of quantum computing, however, we must not only place emphasis on manufacturing better qubits, advancing our algorithms, and developing quantum software. To scale devices to the fault tolerant regime, we must refine device-level quantum control. On May 17-18, 2021, the Chicago Quantum Exchange (CQE) partnered with IBM Quantum and Super.tech to host the Pulse-level Quantum Control Workshop. At the workshop, representatives from academia, national labs, and industry addressed the importance of fine-tuning quantum processing at the physical layer. The purpose of this report is to summarize the topics of this meeting for the quantum community at large.

Abstract

Nomophobia is a phenomenon that describes the fear of not having one’s mobile phone accessible. This study aimed to evaluate the presence of nomophobia among nursing students as well as its relationship with procrastination and social anxiety. Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in a sample of 308 nursing students. Data were collected using the Nomophobia Questionnaire, Academic Procrastination Scale-Short Form, and Social Anxiety Questionnaire for Adults. Additionally, sociodemographic variables related to academic performance and smartphone use were collected. We performed a descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate analysis of the Nomophobia Questionnaire score. Results: 19.5% (n = 60) of the students presented with or were at high risk of nomophobic behaviour. Moreover, nomophobic behaviour was positively correlated with high levels of social anxiety (p < 0.001), longer daily smartphone usage time (p < 0.001), and a high frequency of smartphone checking in class (p < 0.001). The predictive variables for nomophobic behaviour included age, variables related to smartphone use, social anxiety levels, work, procrastination tendency, sex, and self-reported average grade. Conclusion: One out of five students in the sample studied presented with or were at high risk of nomophobic behaviour. Additionally, nomophobic behaviour was associated with social anxiety and variables related to smartphone use. This study was not registered.

Abstract

Abstract Phosphomannomutase deficiency (PMM2-CDG) leads to cerebellar atrophy with ataxia, dysmetria, and intellectual deficits. Despite advances in therapy, the cognitive and adaptive profile remains unknown. Our study explores the adaptive profile of 37 PMM2-CDG patients, examining its association with parental stress and medical characteristics. Assessment tools included ICARS for the cerebellar syndrome and NPCRS for global disease severity. Behavioral and adaptive evaluation consisted of the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale and the Health of the Nation Outcome Scales. Psychopathological screening involved the Child Behavior Checklist and the Symptom Check-List-90-R. Parental stress was evaluated using Parental Stress Index. Results were correlated with clinical features. No significant age or sex differences were found. ‘Daily living skills’ were notably affected. Patients severely affected exhibited lower adaptive skill values, as did those with lipodystrophy and inverted nipples. Greater severity in motor cerebellar syndrome, behavioral disturbances and the presence of comorbidities such as hyperactivity, autistic features and moderate-to-severe intellectual disability correlated with greater parental stress. Our study found no decline in adaptive abilities. We provide tools to assess adaptive deficits in PMM2-CDG patients, emphasizing the importance of addressing communication, daily living skills, and autonomy, and their impact on parental stress in clinical monitoring and future therapies.

Abstract

The objective of this work is to identify and visualize the intellectual structure of the Lean Manufacturing research field. To achieve this, a bibliometric analysis will be carried out that combines a performance and co-occurrence analysis, to identify and analyze the relationships between the topics that have had the greatest impact on the construction of the knowledge base of this discipline. To achieve this objective, a bibliometric analysis was carried out that began with a search on the Web of Science (WOS) platform with the Lean Manufacturing theme. From this database, the references were exported and subsequently processed using the Bibliometrix software, which allows for both an analysis of indexes and the number of articles, which showed us that it was not until 2012 that a progressive publication of works on the subject begins, of productivity by country, with the USA appearing as the country with the greatest number of publications and the greatest number of citations on the topic analyzed, and of authors and journals with the greatest publications, as well as a co-occurrence analysis, which shows us the keywords most used by the authors and the thematic areas where they are most published, the results of which yielded five clusters or groups of keywords led by the terms Lean Management, Lean, Industry 4.0, Value Stream Map and Six Sigma.

Atmospheres, symbols, characters, simulated attitudes, feelings of threat and hostility build the work of one of the most courageous and original Cuban writers of the sixties, who would also dedicate one of his essays to the author of The Metamorphosis.

Abstract

Abstract Background Ischemia/reperfusion injury is the leading cause of acute kidney injury (AKI). The current standard of care focuses on supporting kidney function, stating the need for more efficient and targeted therapies to enhance repair. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) and their secretome, either as conditioned medium (CM) or extracellular vesicles (EVs), have emerged as promising options for regenerative therapy; however, their full potential in treating AKI remains unknown. Methods In this study, we employed an in vitro model of chemically induced ischemia using antimycin A combined with 2-deoxy-d-glucose to induce ischemic injury in proximal tubule epithelial cells. Afterwards we evaluated the effects of MSC secretome, CM or EVs obtained from adipose tissue, bone marrow, and umbilical cord, on ameliorating the detrimental effects of ischemia. To assess the damage and treatment outcomes, we analyzed cell morphology, mitochondrial health parameters (mitochondrial activity, ATP production, mass and membrane potential), and overall cell metabolism by metabolomics. Results Our findings show that ischemic injury caused cytoskeletal changes confirmed by disruption of the F-actin network, energetic imbalance as revealed by a 50% decrease in the oxygen consumption rate, increased oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and reduced cell metabolism. Upon treatment with MSC secretome, the morphological derangements were partly restored and ATP production increased by 40–50%, with umbilical cord-derived EVs being most effective. Furthermore, MSC treatment led to phenotype restoration as indicated by an increase in cell bioenergetics, including increased levels of glycolysis intermediates, as well as an accumulation of antioxidant metabolites. Conclusion Our in vitro model effectively replicated the in vivo-like morphological and molecular changes observed during ischemic injury. Additionally, treatment with MSC secretome ameliorated proximal tubule damage, highlighting its potential as a viable therapeutic option for targeting AKI.

Abstract

The conversion of spent coffee grounds (SCG) into hydrochars has been the subject of extensive research in recent years, aimed at evaluating their potential for biofortifying foods and mitigating the plant toxicity linked to SCG. This study aimed to assess the physicochemical characterization and the impact of incorporating both activated (ASCG and AH160) and functionalized SCG (ASCG-Zn), as well as SCG-derived hydrochars (AH160-Zn), on cucumber yield and plant zinc content. The following physicochemical properties were analyzed: specific surface area, pH and electrical conductivity, polyphenols, and nuclear magnetic resonance. The by-products activated and functionalized with zinc were applied to cucumber crops grown in a greenhouse across multiple harvests. The activation of both SCG and H160 reduced the specific surface area of the particles. However, when these by-products were functionalized, their Zn content increased significantly, up to 7400 ppm. Concerning polyphenol content, the activated products showed levels ranging from 3.5 to 4.9 mg GAE/g. Regarding cumulative production, the treatments that showed the highest yields were the by-products activated and functionalized with Zn reaching 25 kg. Incorporating these by-products notably raised the Zn content in cucumbers, reaching 0.1 mg Zn per 100 g of fresh weight. The activated by-products demonstrated the highest Zn utilization efficiency.

213. Ultrasound Evaluation of Onset Core Muscle Activity in Subjects with Non-Specific Lower Back Pain and Without Lower Back Pain: An Observational Case–Control Study

Abstract

Lower back pain (LBP) has been the leading cause of disability since 1990. Objectives: The main objective of this observational case–control study was to evaluate, using ultrasound, whether there were differences in the onset and ratio of core muscle contraction between subjects with non-specific chronic lower back pain and healthy subjects. Methods: A total of 60 participants (52% women), split between those with non-specific chronic lower back pain (n = 26) and healthy (n = 34) subjects, were recruited. Initial muscle contraction of the lateral abdominal wall, pelvic floor, lumbar multifidus, and respiratory diaphragm was measured using ultrasound. The abdominal drawing-in maneuver, contralateral arm elevation, the Valsalva maneuver, and voluntary contraction of the pelvic floor in seated and standing positions were performed. The muscle thickness of the lateral abdominal wall and lumbar multifidus and excursion of the pelvic floor and diaphragm at rest and during testing were also analyzed. Results: No differences were found between the groups in the initial contraction. Statistically significant differences were found in the following variables: diaphragm excursion (p = 0.032, r = 0.277) and lumbar multifidus ratio (p = 0.010, r = 0.333) in the standing–abdominal retraction maneuver; pelvic floor excursion (p = 0.012, r = 0.325) in the standing–contralateral arm raise; and transverse abdominis ratio (p = 0.033, r = 0.275) in the sitting–contralateral arm raise. A statistically significant interaction between the groups and body mass index was observed in resting diaphragm excursion (p = 0.018, partial eta squared = 0.096) during sitting–voluntary pelvic floor contraction. Conclusions: It cannot be concluded that there is a specific pattern of core activation in any of the groups. However, statistically significant differences were found in the contraction indexes of the lumbopelvic musculature.

214. Development and Validation of a Simple Analytical Method to Quantify Tocopherol Isoforms in Food Matrices by HPLC–UV–Vis

Abstract

This study developed, validated, and tested a simple method for tocopherol analysis on five different food matrices (sunflower oil, mackerel fillets, almonds, spinach, and avocado pulp). Tocopherol extraction from foods was carried out by the Folch method and with n-hexane, and the identification and quantification of tocopherol isoforms (α, β, γ, and δ) was performed using normal-phase liquid chromatography with ultraviolet–visible detection (NP-HPLC–UV–Vis). The normal-phase column fully separated the four tocopherol isoforms in less than ten minutes. Linearity was shown to be excellent for the four isoforms in the assayed range (10–375 ppm, R2 > 0.99). Furthermore, the limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) ranged from 0.32 to 0.63 ppm, and from 1.08 to 2.11 ppm, respectively. The intra-day and inter-day precision were assessed at different concentrations (10, 100, and 250 ppm) for each tocopherol isoform and they were within the range of acceptable values. Recovery rates were above 80% in most cases for all of the assayed food matrices, regardless of the extraction method (Folch solvents or n-hexane). α-Tocopherol was the main isoform found in all tested foods, and sunflower oil was the sample with the highest content, followed by almond, avocado pulp, mackerel fillet, and spinach. This method provides a convenient alternative for obtaining a complete profile of the four tocopherol isoforms in a variety of food matrices and for tracking the potential degradation kinetics of fortified foods during their processing and storage.

Abstract

Amaranthus viridis L. is a wild edible plant that occasionally is cultivated as an alternative crop because of its interest as a functional food and its adaptation to high-saline soils. In this work, leaves from A. viridis were compared with their grown in controlled environment (GCE) counterparts in a soilless system at electrical conductivities (EC) and different light exposures for assessing growth parameters, moisture, total phenolic and total flavonoid content, phenolic compound profiles, vitamin C, antioxidant activity, and antiproliferative activity against the HT–29 human colorectal cancer cell line. The highest biomass production was obtained using EC of 2.5 dS m−1 and the AP67 Milk LED lamp. Vitamin C in wild samples ranged from 83.1 to 104.9 mg 100 g−1 fresh weight (fw), and in GCE ones, it ranged from 112.3 to 236.7 mg 100 g−1 fw. Measured by the DPPH and ABTS assays, the antioxidant activity was higher in wild than in GCE plants: the ranges for wild samples were in the 1.8–4.9 and 2.0–3.9 mmol of Trolox Equivalent (TE) 100 g−1 dry weight (dw) ranges, and for GCE ones in the 1.3–1.9 and 1.5–2.2 mmol TE 100 g−1 dw ranges, respectively. As for phenolic compounds, in wild samples, the range was from 14.65 to 22.70 mg 100 g−1 fw, and these amounts were much higher than those found in their GCE counterparts, in which the range was from 2.58 to 5.95 mg 100 g−1 fw. In wild plants three compounds, namely trans-p-coumaric acid, isorhamnetin-3-O-glucoside, and nicotiflorin, accounted for more than half of the total quantified phenolic compounds. The MTT assay revealed concentration- and time-dependent inhibitory effects on HT–29 cells for all checked extracts. Cancer cells were less influenced by extracts from GCE plants, which showed higher GI50 compared to wild plants. This work improves knowledge on the growth parameters, phytochemical profiles, and biological activities of wild and GCE A. viridis.

Abstract

The transformation of spent coffee grounds (SCGs) into hydrochars has been extensively studied in recent years to explore their potential in biofortifying foods and mitigating the plant toxicity associated with SCGs. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of adding activated (ASCG and AH160) and functionalized SCGs, as well as SCG-derived hydrochars (ASCG-Fe and AH160-Fe), on cucumber production and plant iron content. To achieve this, SCGs and SCG-derived hydrochars activated and functionalized with Fe were incorporated into cucumber crops grown in a greenhouse over multiple harvests. Among the treatments, SCG-Fe proved to be the most promising for cucumber production, yielding an average of 25 kg of cumulative production per treatment across three harvests. Regarding iron content, the average results across all harvests showed that SCGs and functionalized SCG-hydrochars matched the performance of the commercial chelate (0.108 vs. 0.11 mg Fe/100 g fresh weight). However, in subsequent harvests, iron appeared to leach out, with the activated bio-products (ASCG and AH160) leaving the highest iron reserves in the soil. Additionally, the hydrochar activated at 160 °C demonstrated the highest utilization efficiency. In conclusion, the incorporation of SCG residues and second-generation residues (hydrochars) shows promise as agents for biofortifying cucumbers.

Abstract

Background/Objectives: The direct bridge to urgent heart transplant (HT) with venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) support has been associated with high morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study is to analyze the morbidity and mortality of patients transplanted with VA-ECMO and compare the presumed differences between various eras over a 17-year timeline. Methods: This is a prospective, observational study on consecutive patients stabilized with VA-ECMO and transplanted with VA-ECMO from July 2007 to December 2023 at a reference center (98 patients). Objective variables were mortality and morbidity from renal failure, venous thromboembolic disease (VTD), primary graft dysfunction (PGD), the need for tracheostomy, severe myopathy, reoperation, post-transplant ECMO, vascular complications, and sepsis/infection. Results: The percentage of patients who reached transplantation without the need for mechanical ventilation has increased over the periods studied. No significant differences were found between the study periods in 30-day mortality (p = 0.822), hospital discharge (p = 0.972), one-year mortality (p = 0.706), or five-year mortality (p = 0.797). Survival rates in these periods were 84%, 75%, 64%, and 61%, respectively. Comorbidities were very frequent, with an average of 3.33 comorbidities per patient. The most frequent were vascular complications (58%), the need for post-transplant ECMO (57%), and myopathy (55%). The development of myopathy and the need for post-transplant ECMO were higher in recent periods (p = 0.004 and p = 0.0001, respectively). Conclusions: VA-ECMO support as a bridge to HT allows hospital discharge for 3 out of 4 transplanted patients. This survival rate has not changed over the years. The comorbidities associated with this device are frequent and significant.

Abstract

The Module-0 Demonstrator is a single-phase 600 kg liquid argon time projection chamber operated as a prototype for the DUNE liquid argon near detector. Based on the ArgonCube design concept, Module-0 features a novel 80k-channel pixelated charge readout and advanced high-coverage photon detection system. In this paper, we present an analysis of an eight-day data set consisting of 25 million cosmic ray events collected in the spring of 2021. We use this sample to demonstrate the imaging performance of the charge and light readout systems as well as the signal correlations between the two. We also report argon purity and detector uniformity measurements and provide comparisons to detector simulations.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of university brand image, satisfaction, and alumni's university identification on positive word-of-mouth (WOM) intentions. The model is tested using data collected from a sample of 1000 university alumni, an important and under-researched stakeholder group. A contribution is provided by enhancing our understanding of key under-researched relationships. University brand image was found to be a key driver of alumni positive WOM intentions, due to its direct and indirect influences. The study also identified the mediating roles of alumni's university identification and satisfaction. The influence of university brand image on alumni WOM is partially accounted for through its influence on alumni satisfaction and alumni's university identification.

230. Teaching Cartesian Product Problem Solving to Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Using a Conceptual Model-Based Approach

Abstract

Students with autism spectrum disorder frequently face challenges when learning mathematical concepts. For example, they may have difficulties solving mathematical word problems, in particular Cartesian product problems. This research is a case study with a multiple probe design in which the participants were three Spanish students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. A conceptual model-based problem-solving approach adapted to the characteristics of the participants was used to teach them how to solve Cartesian product word problems introduced sequentially in the instruction (first multiplication, then division, and finally both operations). The results show a functional relationship between the intervention and the students' performance. The three participants generalized their learning to two-operation Cartesian product problems (an addition and a multiplication). Moreover, two of them retained what they learned 6 weeks after completing the instruction. The implications for teaching this and other mathematical content to students with autism are discussed.

231. The Acquisition of Computational Thinking through Mentoring: An Exploratory Study

Abstract

Educational robotics are commonly present in kindergarten and primary school classrooms, particularly Bee-bot. Its ease of use allows the introduction of computer programming to young children in educational contexts from a science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) perspective. Despite this rise, there are still few investigations that collect evidence on the effectiveness of robotic interventions. Although mentoring experiences with robotics had been carried out in educational contexts, this work explores their effect on the acquisition of computational thinking skills through mentoring. Participants from the second grade, aged seven through eight years, were exposed to two sessions of robotics with Bee-bot in order to promote hands-on experimentation. The sessions were conducted by nine students of the fourth grade (the mentors), aged 10 to 11 years. A descriptive case-study methodology was employed for the analysis of the mentoring intervention. The effect of the mentoring experience was assessed in terms of motivation and computational thinking skills. Mixed quantitative and qualitative results show two important findings: (i) Mentoring is a powerful tool to be considered for improvement of the motivation and cooperation of students in their teaching-learning process, and (ii) computational thinking skills can be acquired by second-grade students through a mentoring process.

Abstract

Polymorphisms in the PER3 gene have been associated with several human disease phenotypes, including sleep disorders and cancer. In particular, the long allele of a variable number of tandem repeat (VNTR) polymorphism has been previously linked to an increased risk of breast cancer. Here we carried out a combined germline and somatic genetic analysis of the role of the PER3VNRT polymorphism in breast cancer. The combined data from 8284 individuals showed a non-significant trend towards increased breast cancer risk in the 5-repeat allele homozygous carriers (OR = 1.17, 95% CI: 0.97-1.42). We observed allelic imbalance at the PER3 locus in matched blood and tumor DNA samples, showing a significant retention of the long variant (risk) allele in tumor samples, and a preferential loss of the short repetition allele (p = 0.0005). Gene co-expression analysis in healthy and tumoral breast tissue samples uncovered significant associations between PER3 expression levels with those from genes which belong to several cancer-associated pathways. Finally, relapse-free survival (RFS) analysis showed that low expression levels of PER3 were linked to a significant lower RSF in luminal A (p = 3 × 10-12) but not in the rest of breast cancer subtypes.

Abstract

Although neural networks are powerful function approximators, the underlying modelling assumptions ultimately define the likelihood and thus the hypothesis class they are parameterizing. In classification, these assumptions are minimal as the commonly employed softmax is capable of representing any categorical distribution. In regression, however, restrictive assumptions on the type of continuous distribution to be realized are typically placed, like the dominant choice of training via mean-squared error and its underlying Gaussianity assumption. Recently, modelling advances allow to be agnostic to the type of continuous distribution to be modelled, granting regression the flexibility of classification models. While past studies stress the benefit of such flexible regression models in terms of performance, here we study the effect of the model choice on uncertainty estimation. We highlight that under model misspecification, aleatoric uncertainty is not properly captured, and that a Bayesian treatment of a misspecified model leads to unreliable epistemic uncertainty estimates. Abstract

Near-term quantum computation holds potential across multiple application domains. However, imperfect preparation and evolution of states due to algorithmic and experimental shortcomings, characteristic in the near-term implementation, would typically result in measurement outcomes deviating from the ideal setting. It is thus crucial for any near-term application to quantify and bound these output errors. We address this need by deriving robustness intervals which are guaranteed to contain the output in the ideal setting. The first type of interval is based on formulating robustness bounds as semi-definite programs, and uses only the first moment and the fidelity to the ideal state. Furthermore, we consider higher statistical moments of the observable and generalize bounds for pure states based on the non-negativity of Gram matrices to mixed states, thus enabling their applicability in the NISQ era where noisy scenarios are prevalent. Abstract

Logic Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a subfield of AI where variables can take two defined arguments, True or False, and are arranged in clauses that follow the rules of formal logic. Several problems that span from physical systems to mathematical conjectures can be encoded into these clauses and solved by checking their satisfiability (SAT). In contrast to machine learning approaches where the results can be approximations or local minima, Logic AI delivers formal and mathematically exact solutions to those problems. In this work, we propose the use of logic AI for the design of optical quantum experiments. We show how to map into a SAT problem the experimental preparation of an arbitrary quantum state and propose a logic-based algorithm, called Klaus, to find an interpretable representation of the photonic setup that generates it. We compare the performance of Klaus with the state-of-the-art algorithm for this purpose based on continuous optimization. We also combine both logic and numeric strategies to find that the use of logic AI significantly improves the resolution of this problem, paving the path to developing more formal-based approaches in the context of quantum physics experiments., Comment: 10 pages + appendices, 4 figures

Abstract

Quantum physics experiments produce interesting phenomena such as interference or entanglement, which are core properties of numerous future quantum technologies. The complex relationship between the setup structure of a quantum experiment and its entanglement properties is essential to fundamental research in quantum optics but is difficult to intuitively understand. We present a deep generative model of quantum optics experiments where a variational autoencoder is trained on a dataset of quantum optics experimental setups. In a series of computational experiments, we investigate the learned representation of our Quantum Optics Variational Auto Encoder (QOVAE) and its internal understanding of the quantum optics world. We demonstrate that the QOVAE learns an interpretable representation of quantum optics experiments and the relationship between experiment structure and entanglement. We show the QOVAE is able to generate novel experiments for highly entangled quantum states with specific distributions that match its training data. The QOVAE can learn to generate specific entangled states and efficiently search the space of experiments that produce highly entangled quantum states. Importantly, we are able to interpret how the QOVAE structures its latent space, finding curious patterns that we can explain in terms of quantum physics. The results demonstrate how we can use and understand the internal representations of deep generative models in a complex scientific domain. Abstract

The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) will produce world-leading neutrino oscillation measurements over the lifetime of the experiment. In this work, we explore DUNE's sensitivity to observe charge-parity violation (CPV) in the neutrino sector, and to resolve the mass ordering, for exposures of up to 100 kiloton-megawatt-years (kt-MW-yr). The analysis includes detailed uncertainties on the flux prediction, the neutrino interaction model, and detector effects. We demonstrate that DUNE will be able to unambiguously resolve the neutrino mass ordering at a 3$\sigma$ (5$\sigma$) level, with a 66 (100) kt-MW-yr far detector exposure, and has the ability to make strong statements at significantly shorter exposures depending on the true value of other oscillation parameters. We also show that DUNE has the potential to make a robust measurement of CPV at a 3$\sigma$ level with a 100 kt-MW-yr exposure for the maximally CP-violating values $\delta_{\rm CP}} = \pm\pi/2$. Additionally, the dependence of DUNE's sensitivity on the exposure taken in neutrino-enhanced and antineutrino-enhanced running is discussed. An equal fraction of exposure taken in each beam mode is found to be close to optimal when considered over the entire space of interest.
