School belonging is a topic of growing interest given its connection with school dropout, academic achievement, students' behavior, and adolescent well-being. Until recently, most of this literature came from Anglo-Saxon contexts, mainstream schools, and quantitative analysis. As a result, there is still a research gap on this issue in different cultural contexts, social classes, and minority groups. This article makes a contribution exploring school belonging among adolescents from disadvantaged backgrounds, in an emerging economy (Mexico), and using a qualitative methodology that prioritize meanings and experiences of individuals. Focusing on three dimensions (stigmatization processes, school climate, and social relations with teacher and peers), we capture how the engagement of adolescents with their schooling process is shaped by institutional as well as sociocultural aspects. The study provides significant implications for a continuous professional development of high schools in disadvantaged contexts regarding student involvement, teacher support, and social recognition.

In the recent years some papers have dealt with heat exchangers with non-circular tube geometry and vortex generators. Parametric studies with vortex generators applied on heat exchangers models are necessary. The present work consists of an experimental investigation about the influence of combining a plate-finned elliptical tube with vortex generators mounted on the fin surface. The objective is to search for the best position to place the vortex generators just considering heat transfer enhancement. The experimental technique for Nussel tnumber determination was the naphthalene sublimation and mass transfer analogy. A visualization was implemented spreading wetted chalk on fin surface, as a color sensitive evaporation material. The better position obtained is useful for future investigations involving heat exchanger formed by a higher number of tube rows. Additionally was studied the influence of Reynolds number and angle of attack on the average Nusselt number.

Abstract Background The French PRODIGE 7 trial, published on January 2021, has raised doubts about the specific survival benefit provided by HIPEC with oxaliplatin 460 mg/m2 (30 minutes) for the treatment of peritoneal metastases from colorectal cancer. However, several methodological flaws have been identified in PRODIGE 7, specially the HIPEC protocol or the choice of overall survival as the main endpoint, so its results have not been assumed as definitive, emphasizing the need for further research on HIPEC. It seems that the HIPEC protocol with high-dose mytomicin-C (35 mg/m2) is the preferred regime to evaluate in future clinical studies. Methods GECOP-MMC is a prospective, open-label, randomized, multicenter phase IV clinical trial that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of HIPEC with high-dose mytomicin-C in preventing the development of peritoneal recurrence in patients with limited peritoneal metastasis from colon cancer (not rectal), after complete surgical cytoreduction. This study will be performed in 31 Spanish HIPEC centres, starting in March 2022. Additional international recruiting centres are under consideration. Two hundred sixteen patients with PCI ≤ 20, in which complete cytoreduction (CCS 0) has been obtained, will be randomized intraoperatively to arm 1 (with HIPEC) or arm 2 (without HIPEC). We will stratified randomization by surgical PCI (1–10; 11–15; 16–20). Patients in both arms will be treated with personalized systemic chemotherapy. Primary endpoint is peritoneal recurrence-free survival at 3 years. An ancillary study will evaluate the correlation between surgical and pathological PCI, comparing their respective prognostic values. Discussion HIPEC with high-dose mytomicin-C, in patients with limited (PCI ≤ 20) and completely resected (CCS 0) peritoneal metastases, is assumed to reduce the expected risk of peritoneal recurrence from 50 to 30% at 3 years. IntroductionElevated pulse pressure (ePP) is an independent marker of cardiovascular risk (CVR) in people older than 60, and a functional marker of subclinical target organ damage (sTOD) which can predict cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension (HTN), regardless of sTOD.ObjectiveTo evaluate the prevalence of ePP in adult population seen in primary care and its association with other vascular risk factors, sTOD and with cardiovascular disease (CVD).Materials and methodsObservational multicentre study conducted in Spain (8,066 patients, 54.5% women) from the prospective cohort study IBERICAN recruited in Primary Care. Abstract This study describes a case of a 20‐day‐old male fighting bull with bilateral clinical anophthalmia and brachygnathia superior whose dam was 12.5 years old and was mistakenly dewormed with ivermectin intramuscularly in the first third of gestation in a livestock farm. A macroscopic examination of the carcass was performed, with a special focus on the ocular components. Eyeball remains were found in both orbits and a histopathological examination was performed on them. Antibodies by serological study against bovine herpes virus‐1, respiratory syncytial virus and bovine viral diarrhea virus for both the cow and the calf were not detected. The calf had small orbits and inside them a white and brown mass of soft consistency. Microscopically, abundant muscular and adipose tissue was observed, alongside nervous structures and vestiges of ocular structures with stratified epithelium and abundant connective tissue with glands. No evidence that this congenital bilateral anophthalmia had infectious or hereditary origin was found. By contrast, the malformation could be related to the treatment with ivermectin during the first month of gestation.

El Comité Editorial de la Revista Semestre Económico de la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano de Puno-Perú, en la presente edición, pone en consideración de los lectores, el tema del contexto internacional con efectos diferenciados a las economías de los países, titulado “las consecuencias globales de la guerra en Ucrania y propuestas de pacificación desde los Derechos Humanos” elaborado por Antonio Sánchez Bayón. Se abordan cuatro cuestiones: 1) el reconocimiento de la condición de una guerra total; 2) la reflexión sobre si la Historia se repite (y cómo); 3) realizar un mínimo balance de ganadores y perdedores; y 4) aportar unas notas de justicia transicional, iushumanismo y Derecho Humanitario. De tal modo, es posible hacer balance de un conflicto que supera el año y no da señales claras sobre su conclusión, siendo cuatro los principales escenarios barajados.

Cyclophilins are chaperone proteins that play important roles in signal transduction. Among them, cyclophilins A, B, C, and D were widely associated with inflammation and cardiovascular diseases. Cyclophilins A and C have been proposed as coronary artery disease biomarkers. However, less is known about their relationship with cardiovascular risk factors. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the association between cyclophilin A, B, C, and D and cardiovascular risk factors in coronary artery disease. Serum levels of cyclophilins were measured in 167 subjects (subdivided according to cardiovascular risk factors presence). This study reveals that cyclophilin A and C are elevated in patients regardless of the risk factors presence. Moreover, cyclophilin B is elevated in male patients with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or high glucose levels. In addition, cyclophilins A, B, and C were significantly correlated with cardiovascular risk factors, but only cyclophilin B was associated with type 2 diabetes. The multivariate analysis strengthens the predictive value for coronary artery disease presence of cyclophilin A (>8.2 ng/mL) and cyclophilin C (>17.5 pg/mL) along with the cardiovascular risk factors tobacco, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and high glucose and cholesterol levels. Moreover, the risk of coronary artery disease is increased in presence of cyclophilin B levels above 63.26 pg/mL and with hypertension or dyslipidemia in male patients. Consequently, cyclophilins A and C serum levels are reinforced as useful coronary artery disease biomarkers, meanwhile, cyclophilin B is a valuable biomarker in the male population when patients are also suffering from hypertension or dyslipidemia.

Introduction Motivation is an essential determinant of performance, particularly for those working in difficult conditions, such as the conditions facing many health workers. The relationship between motivation and performance is influenced by the health workers’ organizational environment and social context. Many intrinsic and extrinsic factors may influence the impulse to head for and maintain and effort to achieve the objectives of the organization these may include acknowledgements, status and incentives, but also auto efficacy perception, personal growth, welfare and physical and mental health. In the last years and particularly during COVID-19 pandemic health organizations have suffered a crisis of lack of motivation and high turnover rates in health professional, particularly among highly specialized professions. Objectives to develop a quality program to promote mental health and motivation, detect risk of mental disorders and improve communication skills in the health workers of the Health Area of El Bierzo (GASBI). Methods A committee with four members form the psychiatry and mental health service, two from the Quality and Security Unit and 1 from the Occupational Risk Prevention Service analyzed the GASBI with a SWOT-CAME matrix analysis. Actions to be implemented were ordered with a Hanlon method score according to a representative sample of the employees of GASBI. Results The CAME matrix recommended an offensive strategy, given a number of strengths and the opportunities for an administration sensible to new paradigms. The program proposed included 6 main lines (evaluation, access to mental health consultation, prevention of suicide behavior, resilience group, communication and relation groups and a group of actions to improve motivation and prevent burnout called “10 actions to dream together”, displayed in figures 1 and 2. The Hanlon classified suicide behaviour as the highest priority (score: 16,25 points), mental disorders the second (score: 13.75), then fatigue (13 p), burnout and resilience (12p) and the less prioritary was motivation (7 points). Introduction Psychotic disorders carry several economical, psychological and social consequences, both at individual and community levels. Early intervention programs after first-episode psychosis which combine pharmacological and psychosocial strategies are aimed at reducing symptoms, lowering costs in the use of health and non-health care resources and improving overall functioning. AGES-Mind study is based on manualized psychotherapeutic interventions for people with first-psychosis episodes. Objectives The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of a group psychotherapeutic intervention on the clinical status and use of clinical resources in a sample of patients with first-episode psychosis at 12 and 24 months after the beginning of the intervention. This cohort will be compared to patients with first-psychosis episodes without group psychotherapeutic intervention. Methods Longitudinal, observational, retrospective study on a cohort of N=46 patients with first-episode psychosis within the last 5 years. Two groups of 23 patients each were formed. The participants of one of those groups received group psychotherapy in the context of the AGES-Mind study and the other group received treatment as usual without group intervention. Non-exposed patients were matched by age, gender and time elapsed since first-episode psychosis with those exposed to the intervention. Sociodemographic data, clinical status and use of clinical resources outcome variables were assessed. Results No significant differences were found in clinical status and use of resources between participants and non-participants in the psychotherapeutic group intervention after 12 and 24 months. Conclusions After controlling for potentially confounding variables as sociodemographic, age and time since first-episode, participating in a group psychotherapeutic program does not seem to improve clinical variables or use of resources. Further studies with larger samples would be necessary to explore other variables, such as symptoms, satisfaction with the intervention or social functioning. Disclosure of Interest None Declared

Introduction Early intervention on a first psychotic episode is fundamental for a more favorable prognosis, and it usually combines pharmacological treatment, which mainly affects positive psychotic symptoms, with interventions that can improve the rest of the symptoms and associated problems such as deterioration in social functioning (Harvey & Penn, 2010; Fusar-Poli, McGorry & Kane, 2017). While Mindfulness is gaining more and more prominence in the field of psychotherapy (Chan et al., 2019; Cillesen et al., 2019), social cognition and social functioning are being researched as key targets on which to intervene after a first psychotic episode (Green, Horan & Lee, 2015). SocialMIND® is a mindfulness-based social cognition training tailor-made to improve social functioning in people who have suffered a first psychotic episode within the last five years. It is currently being compared with a group Psychoeducational Multicomponent Intervention (PMI) in a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) (Mediavilla et al., 2019). Both group psychotherapies include 17 sessions delivered over a 9 month period: 8 weekly sessions, 4 biweekly sessions and 5 monthly sessions. The results of SocialMIND® at 8 weeks showed improvements in social cognition and social functioning, specifically on affective social cognition and self-care (Mediavilla et al., 2021). Objectives To evaluate the efficacy of SocialMIND® in improving social functioning, measured by the Personal and Social Functioning (PSP) scale 16 weeks after starting the intervention, in people who have suffered a first psychotic episode in the last 5 years. Methods Randomized, controlled pilot trial (use of a psychoeducational multicomponent intervention or PMI as active comparator) of two parallel groups (SocialMIND® and PMI) with a 1:1 ratio using a blind evaluator. Results No statistically significant differences were found in the social functioning variable between the two treatment arms. Intragroup differences are observed in other secondary variables studied (social cognition) 16 weeks after starting the interventions. Conclusions SocialMIND® has not been shown to be more effective than a PMI in improving social functioning at 16 weeks after starting the intervention in people who have suffered a first psychotic episode in the five years prior to being included in the study. If we look back, evaluating the last two centuries, the productive environments of our societies have experienced several industrial revolutions that caused great changes in production and that, in turn, generated important changes in societies at all times. Likewise, the digital transformation that has been incorporated into the bases of companies, each one in its measure, has not yet reached its maximum potential, but it has changed the way we live and, therefore, the way we work. Historically, automation has come from the hand of specialization, not because of the manufacture of tractors the land has been stopped, but more has been produced and that production has been managed in favor of employment and economic health. Technological transformations hand in hand with digitalization and artificial intelligence generate opportunities, but they also represent a threat to a good part of traditional jobs and professions, since changes are rapid and the impact of new technologies is much greater; thus, the change in the training and qualification of workers is necessary. Like the looms in the 18th century and the production models at the beginning of the 20th, digital transformation is our present, but it will be much more powerful in the future, as it entails and will entail a redefinition of the labor market and the law that governs it. regulates. Globalization and technological changes have generated a need to address labor law from a global perspective; Furthermore, this right must not only be active, but also effective, solid, in accordance with international decent work standards.

Estudio de revisión crítica de los fundamentos del dominante pensamiento económico anglosajón durante la economía de bienestar estatal, y su incapacidad para afrontar de manera humanista la economía digital por falta de una auténtica filosofía económica de sustento. Se realizan revelaciones sobre el intervencionismo económico y sus fallos conceptuales macroeconómicos y econométricos, a la vez que se exponen los novedosos planteamientos de la economía de bienestar personal, como ulterior estadio de la economía digital, que comprende emprendimiento, intensificación tecnológica y gestión de la felicidad y talento (con manifestaciones como RSC 3.0, salario emocional, clima laboral y satisfacción, motivación, gamificación, etc.).

This is a critical paper (based in knowledge review & constructivist proposal), under the global economics & cross-cultural management approach, as a comparative research to have an overview of the complex issue, with a bootstrapping method of analysis and some singular cases to illustrate. It offers a balance of the labour relations development into the welfare state economy and the current fall in post-globalization and digital economy. There is a diagnoses of the transition in progress (with the 4th industrial revolution in digital era), from the human resources departments for replicate-workers in traditional bureaucratic corporations, to the emergence of the talent development areas for creative-collaborators in agile business organizations. Also, there are complementary explanations about the transitional context from the gig economy to wellbeing economics (the new stage of digital economy and new challenges for the collaborators).

The pathophysiology of Takotsubo Syndrome has not yet been precisely defined. Different hypotheses have been proposed, including cardiotoxicity due to catecholaminergic hormone release, metabolic disorders, coronary microvascular dysfunction and epicardial coronary artery spasm. Invasive coronary physiology is considered the cornerstone to understand physiological assessment of coronary blood flow in this setting. We have reviewed most important studies in coronary invasive physiology in this field to update the state of the art in TakoTsubo Syndrome.

The arrival of international tourism has promoted new plans and public policies in different cities of Ecuador to adapt to this model. Consequently new environmental quality spaces have emerged within the city: beaches for leisure, mangrove areas for walks and new parks are all examples of this. The ’renovation’ prior to the arrival of tourists that is undergone by areas previously considered as undeveloped spaces inhabited by low-income families necessitates the forceful displacement of populations with different degrees of violence. To mitigate the social contradictions of this violence, decision makers enable the creation of social interest housing spaces in natural spaces beyond the city limits, thus generating a loss of centrality and hindering access to the city. The urban renewal of Esmeraldas, Portoviejo and Guayaquil ecologizes the development policies in central areas, leads to extensive and devastating peri-urbanization through the construction of social housing, and produces a new order of the spatialization of social classes in each of these cities.

Este estudio se ha enfocado en los desafíos y novedades jurídicas del teletrabajo y su impacto sobre el bienestar de los trabajadores y el nuevo paradigma de las relaciones laborales: teletrabajo, desconexión digital, flexibilidad y conciliación. Para ello, en primer lugar, se analiza el marco normativo que regula esta figura laboral, y los derechos y obligaciones tanto del empleador como del trabajador. A continuación, se estudian los derechos de los trabajadores referidos a la desconexión digital, las medidas de flexibilidad laboral, y el derecho a la conciliación personal y familiar con respecto a sus obligaciones profesionales. Seguidamente, se desgranan los resultados hallados con respecto al impacto y el grado de penetración del teletrabajo en el mercado laboral español, así como, su impacto en Europa, Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica. Finalmente, se realizan propuestas de mejora al modelo de teletrabajo y su legislación aplicable atendiendo especialmente a la protección de los trabajadores y sus derechos inherentes en esta modalidad, como lo son la desconexión digital, la protección de la salud mental, las medidas de flexibilización que fomenten la conciliación, la negociación colectiva transparente y el refuerzo del diálogo social.

Se ofrece una historia intelectual de la revisión de la teoría de ciclos, aplicándose la misma a la Eurozona, con sus auges y recesiones, dando lugar a su deflación del capital con la Gran Recesión de 2008. Se focaliza la atención en la ilustración del caso español y su ciclo, con el auge por la incorporación del euro, dando lugar a una subida continua de precios, generándose una serie de burbujas por las políticas fiscales y monetarias expansivas que terminaron en una gran recesión y deflación del capital y salarios. Para realizar este estudio, se ha acudido a la síntesis heterodoxa, que combina los aportes de la Escuela Austriaca (también sometida a revisión por las nuevas generaciones) junto con los enfoques neoinstitucionalistas y culturales, permitiéndose así una mejor ilustración empírica de la teoría económica.

Revisión heterodoxa de Economía Política, Macroeconomía y Organización de Empresa sobre el efecto reajuste en el sector turístico por impacto de la transición digital y su agravamiento con las crisis COVID-19 y guerra en Ucrania. Se plantea una síntesis del cambio paradigmático con la economía digital y cómo afecta a las relaciones laborales y profesionales, requiriéndose de una transformación del sistema económico y el proceso productivo. Se centra la atención en el sector turístico y su paradoja en la Unión Europea: pese a su creciente importancia, en cambio, su reconocimiento y transformación resulta insuficiente. Dicha paradoja se intensifica en el caso español, donde más fondos europeos de recuperación se están destinando y sin embargo está creciendo la vulnerabilidad de sus PYMES y emprendedores turísticos.

Esta revisión crítico-hermenéutica de Pensamiento Social aplicado a Economía Política y Hacienda Pública, combina diversos enfoques heterodoxos, para analizar la dimensión económica de la Escuela de Salamanca y si puede ser considerada como escuela económica. Se aclara primero la noción de Escuela Económica Española-EEE y su relación con otras escuelas económicas. Seguidamente, se expone el tránsito de la economía moral a la política y positiva, con sus disciplinas y su influjo en la configuración de los estudios de economía. Se completa todo ello con la sistematización de principios económico-financieros inspirados por EEE.

ABSTRACT Introduction and objectives: The results of Magmaris implantation in the acute coronary syndrome setting is uncertain and more studies will be needed to assess the long-term safety profile of these devices. The objective of this work was to conduct an observational study to analyze the clinical safety profile of Magmaris implanted in a single hospital center in the acute coronary syndrome setting beyond 12 months. Methods: Registry of 36 patients with Magmaris devices implanted between November 2016 through November 2018 with a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome included consecutively. The primary endpoint was considered the device-oriented composite endpoint of target vessel myocardial infarction, target lesion failure, and cardiac death. Secondary endpoints included Magmaris related thrombosis. Results: Regarding the device-oriented combination, no target vessel myocardial infarction was observed, 0 cases (0%), while target lesion failure was seen in 2 cases (5.6%). There were no cases of Magmaris thrombosis at the follow-up and only 1 case of cardiac death (2.8%) was found 36 months after Magmaris implantation. The cause of death could not be determined since no autopsy was performed. Conclusions: Our results with long-term follow-up confirm that Magmaris has a favorable clinical profile in the acute coronary syndrome complex setting.
