The motif of the journey is present in many of the works of migrant writers in Italy. This article analyses the motif of journey in the works of two women writers: Albanian author Anilda Ibrahimi and Polish author Barbara Serdakowski. The journey does not refer only to the physical act of travelling but also to the metaphorical journey of one’s life and that of getting to know oneself and rebuilding one’s identity. Moreover, characters take a mental journey to their past memories through flashbacks. Characters wish they could go back in time but they realize it is impossible. Family communication scholarship on transnational adoption has privileged adoptive family communication, in part, because only a fraction of transnational adoptees have been able to locate birth relatives. Given increased global access to DNA testing and more advanced technologies, reunions between transnational adoptees and birth families are increasing. Informed by our positionalities as an adoptive mother of a child born in China and a Korean adult adoptee in reunion with her birth family, we set an agenda for family communication research in the context of transnational adoption birth family search and reunion. We raise three questions for consideration in future family communication research on this topic: (a) Whose history is this?, (b) Whose search is this?, and (c) Whose culture is this? This agenda privileges theories and constructs promising for answering these questions, including communication privacy management theory, family communication patterns theory, adoptive identity, ambiguous loss, and culture and communication. Article Type: Research paper Purpose--The purpose of this paper is to examine the South Korean government's policy approach in addressing the North Korean abductions of South Koreans and uncover the actual hindrance behind the prolonged stalemate beyond merely North Korea's obstinate denial and negative attitude toward the abduction issue. Design, Methodology, Approach--The research study scrutinized the South Korean government's policy approach from the Kim Dae-jung administration (1998-2002) to the most recent Moon Jae- in administration (2017-2021) through policy discourses, white papers on Korean unification, Korean news articles addressing the government's position, government officials' interviews, and the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee state's audit meeting minutes of the Ministry of Unification. Then it adopted the following three foreign policy analysis models: the rational actor model, the organizational process model, and the bureaucratic politics model that well demonstrate not only the process of the South Korean government's policy decision making and implementation, but also the fundamental rationale behind the government's policy continuity despite unsatisfactory results. Findings--While North Korea itself is a considerable factor behind the prolonged stalemate, another major impediment is the South Korean government's own integration of the abduction issue in the "separated families" issue. The government's main resolution approach has revolved around the rationality of verifying the abductees' living status within the humanitarian context of separated families and if fortunate, reuniting the abductees and their families through reunions designed for those families divided during the Korean War. In fact, such an approach has become a standardized protocol despite the serious drawbacks. Demands for change or an alternative approach have been repeatedly voiced within the government body, yet the prolonged stalemate has continued without any concrete remedy. Therefore, the current stalemate will likely continue in the future unless the government boldly breaks away from the existing integration of the abduction issue from the separated families issue. Practical Implications--This paper reveals the source of the prolonged stalemate from the South Korean government's policy position, its decision-making and implementation process. Thus, the paper provides a better understanding of the underlying concerns and can help find appropriate solutions to the abduction issue. Originality, Value--The North Korean abductions of South Koreans has been understudied in academia with most of the available research articles written in the Korean language. This paper will bridge that gap and provide further knowledge and insight regarding the abduction issue to the international community while humbly encouraging greater interest in this subject. Although first posited to be of a single origin, the two superfamilies of phalangeriform marsupial possums (Phalangeroidea: brushtail possums and cuscuses and Petauroidea: possums and gliders) have long been considered, based on multiple sequencing studies, to have evolved from two separate origins. However, previous data from these sequence analyses suggested a variety of conflicting trees. Therefore, we reinvestigated these relationships by screening |$\sim$| 200,000 orthologous short interspersed element (SINE) loci across the newly available whole-genome sequences of phalangeriform species and their relatives. Compared to sequence data, SINE presence/absence patterns are evolutionarily almost neutral molecular markers of the phylogenetic history of species. Their random and highly complex genomic insertion ensures their virtually homoplasy-free nature and enables one to compare hundreds of shared unique orthologous events to determine the true species tree. Here, we identify 106 highly reliable phylogenetic SINE markers whose presence/absence patterns within multiple Australasian possum genomes unexpectedly provide the first significant evidence for the reunification of Australasian possums into one monophyletic group. Together, our findings indicate that nucleotide homoplasy and ancestral incomplete lineage sorting have most likely driven the conflicting signal distributions seen in previous sequence-based studies. Families involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) face daunting steps to meet their service plan goals in the effort to achieve reunification with their children. Families who lack transportation access face additional barriers. This study explored Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, volunteers' perspectives of the impact of transportation access on child welfare‐involved families' service participation. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with nine CASA volunteers in a large city in a Southeastern state. Questions were asked regarding volunteers' experiences of transportation access for parents and children. Primary emphasis was placed on families' access to services. Three primary themes emerged in the data analysis: (1) challenges are wide‐ranging, exacerbated by transportation issues; (2) transportation linked to court‐ordered services success; and (3) practical recommendations stem from transportation justice. Interviews illuminated transportation challenges faced by families involved with CPS. The observed link between transportation inequity and CPS permanency outcomes warrants serious consideration in future research. Recommendations provide initial guidance to begin addressing disparities faced by these families. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article seeks to analyze the tension produced between the development of the constitutional right to social protest -peaceful assembly, article 37 of the Political Constitution of Colombia (1991)- and the rights of people who do not participate in it. The article describes and analyzes the existing jurisprudential line on the matter and also presents some comments guided by the economic analysis of law and the methods of constitutional interpretation. A review of the fauna of Ptinidae (Coleoptera) of Reunion Island is presented. Four new genera - Cisobium gen. nov. (Anobiinae), Gomyiana gen. nov., Lomskya gen. nov., and Reunionella gen nov. (all Dorcatominae) and fourteen new species are described: Anakania espanoli sp. nov., Anakania fulvopubens sp. nov., Anakania magnifica sp. nov., Anakania pici sp, nov.; Anakania poussereaui sp. nov., Cisobium striatum sp. nov., Falsogastrallus gomyi sp. nov., Gomyiana splendens sp. nov., Hemimesothes bilyi sp. nov., Lasioderma havai sp. nov., Lasioderma reunionela sp. nov., Lomskyana animus sp. nov., Reunionella latissima sp. nov., Xyletinoides pusillus sp. nov. Other two species is new for Reunion: Anakania velutina Pic, 1901, Ozognathus cornutus (LeConte, 1859). From Reunion 18 genera and 46 species (from all subfamilies), are currently known, including the new genera and species: 5 genera and 18 species from subfamilies Ptininae and Gibbiinae.
