The leading elites of the ethnonationalist movements that developed in the aftermath of World War I in Western Europe usually refused to see their nations and territories as ‘national minorities’. In their view, they were stateless nations or nationalities. However, in the aftermath of World War I, the prior international discussion on the nationality principle was increasingly replaced with the notion of ‘minority rights’, enhanced by the implementation of the Minorities Treaties by the League of Nations. Thus, the term ‘national minority’ emerged as a label that permitted ethnonationalist activist to present their claims on the international stage. This became evident in the participation of some Western European national movements in the activities of some transnational non-governmental organisations, such as the Congress of European Nationalities (1925–1939). However, the general programme advocated by the most influential leaders of East-Central ethnic minorities, based on the extension of the personal principle and the implementation of non-territorial autonomy all over Europe, was hard to accept for ethnonationalist elites from Western Europe, which were interested in territorial home-rule and believed that their homelands did not fit in the category of ‘minority’. Political parties were formed after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in the Turkish Republic, and there was an atmosphere of democratic competition, despite the one-party atmosphere in the early years of the Republic between the parties. The National Movement Party is Turkey's fourth largest political party that has an impact on Turkey's political environment. The presence of this party in the Republican alliance and its role in the political sphere of Turkey highlights the necessity of analyzing its political behavior towards the Islamic Republic of Iran. The purpose of this article is to explain the positions of the National Movement Party in relation to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Accordingly, the main question of this study is: what role do the National Movement Party's identity ideas play in its position towards the Islamic Republic of Iran? This paper investigates the role of identity paradigms in the positions of the National Movement Party using a descriptive-analytical approach and using documentary technique. This research is of practical purpose. The findings of the article show that the National Movement Party seeks to adopt cooperative policies towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.The presence of this party in the Republican alliance and its role in the political sphere of Turkey highlights the necessity of analyzing its political behavior towards the Islamic Republic of Iran. The relevance of the research is conditioned by the necessity of scientific comprehension of the influence of the journalistic activity of V. Jabotinsky in the European and Ukrainian historical heritage. The study of publicist activity of V. Jabotinsky allows to trace the transformation of his political and ideological views, to analyze what issues were covered on the pages of periodicals. The purpose of the study lies in complex analysis and evaluation of publicist activity of V. Jabotinsky in Ukrainian and European cultural and historical heritage. The methodological basis of the research was determined taking into account the goals and objectives of the study in the format of interdisciplinary approach. Historical and political principles of research, general scientific methods, ��� analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, analogy and generalization, ��� were used. The methodological basis of the article consists of the principles of historical knowledge: the principle of historicism, integrity and objectivity. Scientific novelty of the study lies in an attempt of a comprehensive study of the publicist activity of V. Jabotinsky. Determination of its influence on the cultural centers of Europe and Ukraine in modern times. Conclusions. The author examines the personal and ideological transformation of V. Jabotinsky, traces the influence of Vladimir Jabotinsky���s works on the Italian cultural heritage. Also, the thematic content of his articles was analyzed and the influence of the environment on the formation of V. Jabotinsky���s worldview was examined. Analysis of the sources established that for the Italian reader political events of the Russian Empire were interesting, topic of the cultural heritage of Russian authors was requested too. Now European scientists are studying the political activity of V. Jabotinsky, introducing into scientific turnover the sources, available in the national periodicals. In the periodicals of the Russian Empire V. Jabotinsky���s works were devoted to the issues of European political and cultural life. The contribution of V. Jabotinsky to the Ukrainian historical heritage deserves special attention. The development of the issue of Ukrainian-Jewish relations, the dependence of autonomist tendencies for the self-determination of nations prevails in the works devoted to the national question. V. Jabotinsky understood the interdependence of the Jewish and Ukrainian national liberation movement. Particular interest to Ukrainian scholars is the involvement of V. Diplomsko delo skuša predstaviti razvoj slovenskega narodnega gibanja v deželi Koroški od revolucije leta 1848 do začetka prve svetovne vojne leta 1914. Navezuje se tudi na različne teorije, ki poskušajo pojasniti izvor nacionalizma. Izpostavljene so teorije modernistične paradigme in etno-simbolizma. Delo vključuje teorije avtorjev, kot so Benedict Anderson, Eric Hobsbawm, Anthony D. Smith in Ernest Gellner. Za slovensko narodno gibanje je bilo pomembno leto 1848, saj je revolucija tega leta dala gibanju močan zagon. Posamezniki so se začeli boriti za svoje narodnostne pravice tudi v slovenskih deželah, ki so bile vključene v večnacionalno državo Avstro-Ogrsko. Slovenci so se v nadaljnjih desetletjih še naprej zavzemali za svoje zahteve, vendar predvsem v deželi Koroški brez večjih uspehov. Bili so se politični boji med nemško in slovensko stranjo, večkrat pa je razmere za Slovence poslabšala tudi deželna uprava. Tako je delež slovensko opredeljenih prebivalcev v deželi ob začetku 20. stoletja začel padati. This paper tries to present the development of the Slovene national movement in Carinthia from the revolution in 1848 to the start of World War I in 1914. It also addresses different theories that seek to explain the origin of nationalism. Theories of modernist paradigm and ethnosymbolism are highlighted. The paper includes theories of the following authors: Benedict Anderson, Eric Hobsbawm, Anthony D. Smith, and Ernest Gellner. The year 1848 was very important for the Slovene national movement, as the revolution that broke out in that period provided great impetus for the movement. People started to fight for their national rights in Slovene lands that formed the multinational Austria-Hungary. In the following decades, Slovenes strove to have their demands met, yet, especially in Carinthia, their efforts yielded no results. Different political struggles took place between the German and the Slovene side moreover, the situation was oftentimes aggravated, from the Slovene perspective, by the Carinthian administration. In the early 20th century, the proportion of people who identified themselves as Slovenes in this land thus started to decrease.
