The G protein-coupled receptor, MAS, is the receptor of the endogenous ligand, Angiotensin (Ang)-(1-7). It is a promising drug target since the Ang-(1-7)/MAS axis is protective in the cardiovascular system. Therefore, a characterization of MAS signalling is important for developing novel therapeutics for cardiovascular diseases. In this paper, we show that Ang-(1-7) increases intracellular calcium in transiently MAS-transfected HEK293 cells. The calcium influx induced by the activation of MAS is dependent on plasma membrane Ca 2+ channels, phospholipase C, and protein kinase C. O livro “Direito Autoral e Inteligência Artificial: autoria e titularidade nos produtos da IA” inaugura uma nova visão sobre a problemática dos direitos autorais, tendo em vista tratar-se da obra de maior relevância no Brasil no âmbito da pesquisa sobre propriedade intelectual no tocante às criações derivadas da inteligência artificial. De autoria de Luca Schirru, Doutor pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Políticas Públicas, Estratégias e Desenvolvimento do Instituto de Economia da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, a obra originou-se da tese de doutorado defendida, mas não integra todos os seus aspectos e apresenta mudanças estruturais. Além disso, o autor é advogado atuante no âmbito da propriedade intelectual, com participação em diversos grupos de pesquisa sobre o tema, especialmente o Grupo de Pesquisa em Inteligência Artificial e Inclusão do ITS, bem como Professor Universitário convidado do curso de pós-graduação em Direito da Propriedade Intelectual da PUC-RJ.

The art of sculpting is a craft as a branch of the creative economy that focuses on the skill of expressing ideas, thoughts, intellectual works on wood media so as to create products with aesthetic, unique, symbolic, interesting, philosophical meaning and marketability. The lack of knowledge and skills related to the management and business of wood carving makes it interesting to carry out comprehensive empowerment in increasing the potential of carving art in Mas Village, Ubud District. The aim of this community service is to overcome partner problems by helping partners and offering solutions according to the service's field of knowledge. The method of implementing service begins with a location survey, observation, questions and answers regarding the business situation and problems faced. Furthermore, offering solutions in the form of socialization, training, implementation, mentoring, evaluation and sustainability. As a result of the dedication and implications of the program that the 10 members of the sculpture group participated in, they were able to develop knowledge, managerial skills, digital marketing and simple technology-based production. These results can be identified from the results of valid participant questionnaires.

Penelitian ini menggunakan COBIT 2019 sebagai kerangka kerja untuk mengevaluasi tata kelola TI pada PT. Pundi Mas Berjaya (Jova Software) Medan. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan melakukan identifikasi domain menggunakan design factor. Dari hasil identifikasi terdapat 3 domain yang perlu dilakukan evaluasi, yakni BAI.04, BAI.11, dan APO.11. Tahap selanjutnya adalah dengan melakukan penilaian level kapabilitas yang dimulai dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada kepala divisi TI perusahaan, dimana data hasil kuesioner digunakan untuk menilai level kapabilitas dengan hasil BAI.04 berada di level kapabilitas 4, BAI.11 berada di level kapabilitas 3, dan APO.11 berada di level kapabilitas 2. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis kesenjangan berdasarkan hasil penilaian level kapabilitas. Didapati kesenjangan untuk BAI.04 sebesar 0, BAI.11 sebesar 1, dan APO.11 sebesar 2. Pemberian rekomendasi berdasarkan analisis kesenjangan, diberikan sebanyak 13 rekomendasi untuk mengatasi kesenjangan yang terjadi saat ini. The Institute of International Studies of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, which is the oldest professional academic organization as 'Think-Tank', that exclusively carries out basic research on international studies and international relations in Mongolia, was established 55 years ago amid hard external and internal conditions of the country, and had gone through several stages. The main purpose of this report is to summarize the main research results of the Institute of International Studies of MAS for latest 55 years, and to briefly present to you my brief conclusions and suggestions about the current state and future prospects of international studies research. The paper has consisted following parts, a. Historical background of the institution, b. A historical approach to institute research, c. In this study, the biosorption properties of fast green FCF (FG) dye in an aqueous solution were investigated using cranberry (Cornus mas L.) kernel (CK) as lignocellulosic biowaste. The biosorbent performance of the cranberry (Cornus mas L.) kernel biomass for FG dye molecules was optimized: 500 mg L−1 at natural pH: 6.0 at 25°C. The maximum biosorption capacity for CK biomass was found to be 21.6 mg g−1 from the Langmuir isotherm model. Biosorption thermodynamics showed that FG dye biosorption to CK biomass was spontaneous, entropy-increasing, and endothermic. The kinetic data were described by the PSO and IPD kinetic models. Thermodynamic parameters were calculated, and it was seen that the biosorption process is spontaneous and endothermic. FT-IR spectrum after biosorption provided data supporting the formation of electrostatic interactions, n-π interactions, and H-bonds between anionic FG dye molecules and CK biomass. When the results of this study were evaluated as a whole, it was concluded that CK biosorbent is a natural, abundant, low-cost, effective, and potential biosorbent for the removal of FG dye molecules from wastewater. As the main structural component of tobacco cell wall, lignin content is an important factor affecting the safety of tobacco smoking. However, it is time‐consuming to quantify lignin by conventional wet chemical analysis methods. In this work, a 13C multiCP/MAS NMR spectral analysis method for tobacco lignin was established. The multiCP/MAS NMR sequence was optimized for tobacco lignin. The optimized nuclear magnetic sequence parameters were 9 CP cycles of 1.5 ms, repolarization time of 0.7 s, and a total acquisition time of 130 min. Subsequently, TMSP was used as the internal standard substance to establish the working curve, and the correlation coefficient was 0.9946. The relative standard deviation (RSD, n = 5) was 3.26%. This method was applied to the determination of lignin content in different types of tobacco samples. The relative error in the determination of lignin content by this method did not exceed 4.46% compared to the results of the chemical method. The results showed that the 13C multiCP/MAS NMR spectral analysis method had the advantages of accuracy and rapidity, which provided a new technical means for the quantitative study of tobacco cell wall substances. ABSTRACT Mycobacterium abscessus is a group of emerging antimicrobial-resistant nontuberculous mycobacteria that causes severe lung disease in infected patients globally. Recently, molecular epidemiology studies have indicated that horizontal gene transfer (HGT) events in the rpoB gene are prevalent between M. abscessus subspecies. To determine the global prevalence of M. abscessus strains subjected to rpoB HGT, we performed phylogenetic inference using a 711-bp rpoB sequence extracted from 1,786 M. abscessus isolates for which the whole-genome sequence was publicly available. Our data showed that a total of 74 isolates (4.1%) from 1,786 strains are subject to rpoB HGT, which is more prevalent than strains with hsp65 HGT (19 isolates from 1,786, 1.1%). Most of these (69 isolates) belong to two major groups of Mycobacterium massiliense, of which the rpoB gene is horizontally transferred from M. abscessus (Rec-mas), dominant circulating clone 7 (DCC7) (44 isolates) and ST46 type by multilocus sequence typing (25 isolates). The Rec-mas strains of the two groups have distinct geographical patient distributions, of which the former is mainly distributed in the United States, while the latter is prevalent in Asia. Our further genome-based analysis indicated that the ST46 type is a novel DCC candidate of M. massiliense that is responsible for dissemination between noncystic fibrosis patients in Asia. In conclusion, our global phylogenetic analysis revealed two major Rec-mas clones with distinct geographical distributions, namely, DCC7 and ST46. This study provides insights into the genetic clustering and person-to-person transmission of globally dominant and area-specific strains harboring the HGT rpoB gene.IMPORTANCEHorizontal gene transfer (HGT) events play a pivotal role in the evolution of Mycobacterium abscessus into dominant circulating clones (DCCs), which is capable of causing patient-to-patient transmission. In particular, HGT of the rpoB gene between strains of different subspecies of M. abscessus could also compromise differentiation between strains of M. abscessus. Here, for the first time, using 1,786 M. abscessus genome sequences, we evaluated the global prevalence of M. abscessus strains subjected to rpoB HGT. We found a greater prevalence of M. abscessus subjected to rpoB HGT than to those subjected to hsp65 HGT, which is mainly due to two Rec-mas clones, dominant circulating clone 7 and ST46, which are responsible for dissemination between non-CF patients in Asia. Our data highlight the importance of rpoB HGT in the evolution of M. abscessus, particularly Mycobacterium massiliense, into virulent DCC clones.

A diferencia de la crisis política boliviana de 2006-2009, que ha dividido la historia del país en un antes (la era republicana) y un después (el estado plurinacional), la crisis de 2019 no se ha resuelto en un punto de inflexión. El regreso de la derecha al poder ha tenido una corta vida y la posterior victoria del MAS en las elecciones de 2020 no ha traído consigo un momento nuevo en el proceso revolucionario que el partido ha emprendido desde su llegada al poder en 2006. Asimismo, los problemas sociales que la crisis política del 19 sacó a la luz, lejos de resolverse, o al menos redefinirse, se mantienen o se han agravado. A esto cabe añadir nuevos problemas, como la notoria escasez de divisas, el aumento del déficit fiscal, la caída de la venta del gas y las divisiones al interior del MAS, entre otros. En este contexto, las alusiones al Proceso de Cambio parecen quedarse en la retórica y no se percibe en el gobierno actual una búsqueda por remediar el distanciamiento del gobierno de Evo Morales de la idea inicial del proyecto plurinacional. En este estado de las cosas, el periodo poscrisis parece ser también un momento de crisis que, cara a las elecciones de 2025, puede cristalizar en otra crisis política de, quizás, mayor envergadura que la del 19. Ante este panorama, la catástrofe de otra crisis política solo podría evitarse con la articulación de las organizaciones sociales –el pueblo en tanto sujeto político colectivo– y no así con el liderazgo del MAS. Por ello, un MAS visionario buscaría, con urgencia, franquear la distancia entre el líder y ese pueblo que, en 2020, consiguió defender en las urnas el proyecto plurinacional.

Аннотация. В работе отражены исследования макро- и микронутриентного состава плодов перспективных сортов кизила генетической коллекции нетрадиционных садовых культур ФГБНУ «ФНЦ им. И.В. Мичурина». Изучение химического состава плодов проводилось на приборно-аналитической базе лаборатории биохимии и пищевых технологий и лаборатории передовых послеуборочных технологий в соответствии со стандартными методиками. Изучение состава фенольных компонентов осуществлялось с помощью метода ОФ ВЭЖХ. Высокие вкусовые качества и умеренная кислотность плодов отмечены у сорта Бродовский желтый. Наибольшим содержанием аскорбиновой кислоты характеризуются эл. с. 29-00 (64,5 мг/100 г), сорт Новый крупный (59,7 мг/100 г). Высоким суммарным содержанием антоцианов характеризуются эл. с. 29-00 (100,5 мг/100 г), сорта Былда (94,5 мг/100 г), Стрыйский (98,6 мг/100 г). Катионов калия накапливалось в пределах 119,46-263,83 мг/100 г, натрия – 0,73-3,15 мг/100 г, магния – 11,03-15,53 мг/100 г, кальция – 30,33-46,69 мг/100 г. Плоды сортов кизила Аббат и Николка 2 характеризуются преобладанием в антоциановом комплексе Cy3Gala, a плоды сортов Находка и Волгоградский грушевидный – Pg3Gala. Показано, что структурный состав флавонолов не изменяется в зависимости от генетических различий и условий возделывания сортов. Основными флавонолами являются: кверцетин‑3-глюкуронид, кемпферол‑3‑галактозид и кверцитин-3-рутинозид. Углубленное изучение питательной и биологической ценности плодов кизила позволяет рекомендовать их для свежего потребления и технологической переработки.

Postmenopausal women have a higher probability of experiencing cognitive alterations compared to men, suggesting that the decline in female hormones may contribute to cognitive deterioration. Thailand traditionally uses Tri-Kaysorn-Mas (TKM), a blend of three medicinal herbs, as a tonic to stimulate appetite and relieve dyspepsia. Due to its antioxidant and anti-acetylcholinesterase activities, we investigated the effects of TKM (50 and 100 mg/kg/day, p.o., for 8 weeks) on cognitive deficits and their underlying causes in an ovariectomized (OVX) mouse model of menopause. OVX mice showed cognitive impairment in the Y-maze, novel object recognition task (NORT), and Morris water maze (MWM) behavioral tests, along with atrophic changes to the uterus, altered levels of serum 17β-estradiol, and down-regulated expression of estrogen receptors (ERα and ERβ). These behavioral effects were reversed by TKM. TKM decreased malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and mitigated oxidative stress in the brain by enhancing the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) and by up-regulating the antioxidant-related gene Nrf2 while down-regulating Keap1. TKM also counteracted OVX-induced neurodegeneration by enhancing the expression of the neurogenesis-related genes BDNF and CREB. The results indicate that TKM extract alleviates oxidative brain damage and neurodegeneration while enhancing cognitive behavior in OVX mice, significantly improving cognitive deficiencies related to menopause/ovariectomy through multiple targets.

Urban environments pose novel challenges for songbirds, and the degree of urbanization can influence nesting success. We used a multi-year (2013-2021) quasi-experimental design to understand the relationship between urbanization and various nesting parameters derived from 380 Black-crested Titmouse (Baeolophus atricristatus; hereinafter BCT1) nests in nest boxes installed across an urbanization gradient (i.e., rural, and low, moderate, and high levels of urbanization) in San Marcos, Texas, USA. The number of eggs, nestlings, and fledglings per nest were negatively influenced by clutch initiation date but not by level of urbanization or year. First clutch initiation date was correlated with level of urbanization, with nests in areas with any level of urbanization being initiated approximately 12 d earlier than rural nests. First clutch initiation dates for all nests were also affected by weather, with warmer mean daily high February temperatures prompting earlier nest initiation. Nest success was similar in rural areas and in areas with low or high urbanization, but was significantly lower in moderately urbanized areas. Nest success was also negatively correlated with clutch initiation date. Overall, our results indicate that BCTI are demonstrating behavioral plasticity to urban environments with earlier lay dates, but that increasing urbanization does not reliably predict changes in nest success. Thus, different degrees of urbanization potentially act as source-sink locations for BCTI populations. Received 8 January 2023. Accepted 12 December 2023. Los entornos urbanos plantean desafios para las aves canoras y el grado de urbanizacion puede influir en el exito de la anidacion. Utilizamos un disen o cuasiexperimental de varios anos (2013-2021) para comprender la relation entre la urbanizacion y varios parametros de anidaci6n derivados de 380 nidos del carbonero Baeolophus atricristatus (en adelante BCTI) en cajas nido instaladas a lo largo de un gradiente de urbanizacion (es decir, rural y niveles de urbanizacion bajos, moderados y altos) en San Marcos, Texas, EE. UU. El numero de huevos, polluelos y polluelos por nido estuvo influenciado negativamente por la fecha de inicio de la nidada, pero no por el nivel de urbanizacion o el ano. La fecha de inicio de la primera puesta se correlaciono con el nivel de urbanizaci6n, y los nidos en areas con cualquier nivel de urbanizacion se iniciaron aproximadamente 12 d antes que los nidos rurales. Las fechas de inicio de la primera nidada para todos los nidos tambien se vieron afectadas por el clima, con temperaturas altas promedio diarias mas calidas en febrero que provocaron un inicio mas temprano de los nidos. El exito de los nidos fue similar en areas rurales y en areas con baja o alta urbanizaci6n, pero rue significativa-mente menor en areas moderadamente urbanizadas. El exito del nido tambien se correlaciono negativamente con la fecha de inicio de la nidada. En general, nuestros resultados indican que los BCTI muestra plasticidad conductual en ambientes urbanos con fechas de puesta mas tempranas, pero que el aumento de la urbanizacion no predice de manera confiable cambios en el exito de los nidos. Por lo tanto, diferentes grados de urbanizacion actuan potencialmente como lugares de fuente y sumidero para las poblaciones del BCTI. Abstract Acetaminophen overdose is a leading cause of acute liver failure (ALF). Despite the pivotal role of the inflammatory microenvironment in the progression of advanced acetaminophen‐induced liver injury (AILI), a comprehensive understanding of the underlying cellular interactions and molecular mechanisms remains elusive. Mas is a G protein‐coupled receptor highly expressed by myeloid cells; however, its role in the AILI microenvironment remains to be elucidated. A multidimensional approach, including single‐cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and hour‐long intravital imaging, is employed to characterize the microenvironment in Mas1 deficient mice at the systemic and cell‐specific levels. The characteristic landscape of mouse AILI models involves reciprocal cellular communication among MYC+CD63+ endothelial cells, MMP12+ macrophages, and monocytes, which is maintained by enhanced glycolysis and the NF‐κB/TNF‐α signaling pathway due to myeloid‐Mas deficiency. Importantly, the pathogenic microenvironment is delineated in samples obtained from patients with ALF, demonstrating its clinical relevance. In summary, these findings greatly enhance the understanding of the microenvironment in advanced AILI and offer potential avenues for patient stratification and identification of novel therapeutic targets.

This study aims to foster and develop the discipline of counseling study with the name of Catur Murti counseling based on the material base of Indonesian culture developed with one of the most explicit ideas in the Javanese literary tradition, which is a collection of valuable teaching in seat-seat (letters) of Raden Mas Panji Sosrokartono. Catur Murti counseling construction presents a form of development of culture-based counseling, which fulfills the postulates of the rules of scientific discipline, namely internal coherence, its correspondence with reality, and its functionalities when applied theoretically and practically. This study uses a qualitative approach with hermeneutics type to understand the text in the Javanese literary tradition. The study's findings show coherence that is interrelated and mutually reinforcing between the relationship of each element, the main concepts, and the meaning of the adiluhung noble teaching of Raden Mas Panji Sosrokartono as part of a systematic counseling theory. Catur Murti's counseling systematic consists of the main concepts as follows: (1) Basic philosophy, which is classified into: (a) Developmental history, (b) Human nature, (2) The main concepts, which are classified in: (a) Structure and development of human personality, (b) Healthy and unhealthy state of person, (3) The purpose of counseling, (4) Counseling relationships, which are classified in: (a) Attitudes, roles, and duties of the counselor, (b) Attitudes, roles and duties of the counselee, (5) Mechanisms of change, which are classified in (a) Counseling techniques, (b) Counseling stages.

Dryopteris filix-mas (hereafter D. filix-mas), a wild leafy vegetable, has gained popularity among high mountain residents in the Hindukush-Himalaya region due to its exceptional nutritional profile, and their commercial cultivation also offers viable income alternatives. Nevertheless, besides phytochemicals with medicinal applications, ecological factors strongly affect their mineral contents and nutritional composition. Despite this, little has been known about how this wild fern, growing in heterogeneous ecological habitats with varying soil physiochemical properties and coexisting species, produces fronds with optimal mineral and nutritional properties. Given its nutritional and commercial significance, we investigated how geospatial, topographic, soil physiochemical characteristics and coexisting plants influence this widely consumed fern’s mineral and nutrient content. We collected soil, unripe fern fronds, and associated vegetation from 27 D. filix-mas populations in Swat, NW Pakistan, and were analyzed conjointly with cluster analysis and ordination. We found that the fronds from sandy-loam soils at middle elevation zones exhibited higher nitrogen contents (9.17%), followed by crude fibers (8.62%) and fats (8.09%). In contrast, juvenile fronds from the lower and high elevation zones had lower moisture (1.26%) and ash (1.59%) contents, along with fewer micronutrients such as calcium (0.14–0.16%), magnesium (0.18–0.21%), potassium (0.72–0.81%), and zinc (12% mg/kg). Our findings indicated the fern preference for middle elevation zones with high organic matter and acidic to neutral soil (pH ≥ 6.99) for retaining higher nutritional contents. Key environmental factors emerged from RDA analysis, including elevation (r = −0.42), aspect (r = 0.52), P-3 (r = 0.38), K+ (r = 0.41), EC (r = 0.42), available water (r = −0.42), and field capacity (r = −0.36), significantly impacting fern frond’s mineral accumulation and nutrient quality enhancement. Furthermore, coexisting plant species (r = 0.36) alongside D. filix-mas played a pivotal role in improving its mineral and nutritional quality. These findings shed light on the nutritional potential of D. filix-mas, which could help address malnutrition amidst future scarcity induced by changing climates. However, the prevalent environmental factors highlighted must be considered if the goal is to cultivate this fern on marginal lands for commercial exploitation with high mineral and nutrient yields in Hindukush-Himalaya.

The author argues that Black female figures disrupt the normative constructions of genre and gender in narrative-based costumed pretend play and turns body spectatorship into new narratives of speculation. For Black women at play, she asserts, cosplay (i.e., comic book and pop culture costume play) and masquerade (i.e., as during Caribbean Carnival) are rhetorical and performative cognates. She suggests that Black women at play highlight the paradoxical dilemma of their visibility and invisibility so that, in public (whether virtual or actual), their presence becomes a phenomenological experience and political expression of their capacity as world builders. She finds that, because the category of "Black women" in this research includes people who use an array of binary, nonbinary, and contested gender categories, Black femme praxis addresses the complex relations of the real and fictive worlds their play inhabits. To demonstrate the overlap between cosplay and playing mas (masquerade), she includes excerpts from interviews with science-fiction writer Nalo Hopkinson, cultural theorist Emily Zobel Marshall, and content from various Black female cosplayers on social media.

This study aimed to examine mathematics teachers' integration of Mathematics Analysis Software (MAS) in the teaching of mathematics at upper secondary school classrooms. It employed a qualitative approach with classroom observations and interviews for the data collection. The study was carried out in Indonesia, and the participants were ten mathematics teachers from ten secondary schools. The finding suggested that the participants failed to take advantage of pedagogical opportunities to digital technology in facilitating students' knowledge construction. In addition, this study revealed that the instructional practices with technology at classroom and subject levels were closely related to the type of tasks they set in their lessons. Moreover, the findings indicate that it is important for mathematics teachers to set technology-rich mathematics tasks for students to fully capitalized pedagogical opportunities of Mathematics Analysis Software.
