Se han fabricado biosensores de PEDOT-PSS para su uso en la detección de antioxidantes de interés en la industria alimentaria. A estos sensores, se les ha añadido modificadores para mejorar su capacidad electrocatalítica, estos modificadores son ftalocianinas de Lutecio y de Cobre y nanopartículas de Oro. Adicionalmente a estos sensores, se les han añadido dos enzimas, Lacasa y Tirosina con objeto de aumentar su especificidad ante compuestos fenólicos. Inicialmente estos biosensores se han utilizado como sensores voltamétricos para la detección de dos isómeros como son catecol e hidroquinona de gran interés en la industria de la alimentación. El estudio se ha completado con el análisis cinético y la determinación de límites de detección. Se ha observado que en todos los casos se obtienen límites del orden de micromolar, constatando el efecto beneficioso de los modificadores como mediadores electrónicos. Posteriormente se ha construido una red voltamétrica para la discriminación de ocho variedades distintas de vinos. Se han analizado tres lenguas electrónicas diferentes, una a base de biosensores de lacasa, otra con biosensores modificados con tirosinasa y una tercera mezclando ambos tipos de enzimas con objeto de determinar cuál es la red que ofrece mayor capacidad de discriminación de antioxidantes., Departamento de Ciencias de los Materiales e Ingeniería Metalúrgica, Expresión Gráfica en la Ingeniería, Ingeniería Cartográfica, Geodesia y Fotogrametría, Ingeniería Mecánica e Ingeniería de los Procesos de Fabricación, Grado en Ingeniería Mecánica

(2011) proposal. It is also defined a new bioclimatic variant called Semipolar antarctic bioclimatic variant (sepoa). It has the optimal in the euhyperoceanic humid-ultrahyperhumid isles and archipielagoes of the subantarctic isles territories (Circumantarctic Subkingdom, Subantarctic Insular Region), located no far from the influence of the Antarctic Convergence, also afected by the West Wind Drift and the Circumpolar Cold Current, within 46º and 56º South latitude. The magnitude and sign of the trends were evaluated with Sen¿s slope estimator and their statistical significances were determined with the nonparametric Mann-Kendall test. In a broad sense, the rainfall trends for the period and the study area are mainly non non-significant at the monthly, seasonal and annual timescales. By and large, the highest number of weather stations with positive significant trends was found in September and October, whereas the highest number of stations with negative significant trends was observed in February, June, winter, summer and at the annual timescale. The most pronounced decreases occurred in June (¿18.58 mm/50years) and in summer (-27.67 mm/50years) in the south, which points to an intensification of mediterraneity in this area. We observed a sign asymmetry in significant rainfall trends during winter, spring and at the annual timescales between the north (negative) and the southeast (positive).

12 páginas, 2 tablas, 2 figuras., The taxonomy of the genus Quercus is the subject of ongoing scientific interest at the present time. Classically the scanning electron microscope is and has been used for the study of leaf surfaces, particularly to characterise the trichomes, stomata and epicuticular waxes. In the present work, in addition to using the SEM, histological sections from a group of taxa from the northern Iberian Peninsula are studied under the optical microscope. Specifically, the study concerns the leaves of Quercus robur subsp. robur, Q. orocantabrica, Q. petraea and Q. pyrenaica, and of possible hybrids between Q. orocantabrica and Q. petraea and between Q. orocantabrica and Q. pyrenaica. The results highlight histological differences between Q. robur and Q. orocantabrica, and also differentiate the morphological characteristics of Q. petraea and Q. pyrenaica. Similarities can also be observed between Q. petraea and its possible hybrid with Q. orocantabrica, and between Q. pyrenaica and its hybrid with Q. orocantabrica. The aspects observed under the optical microscope complement the observations obtained by means of the scanning electron microscope, and as a consequence of this, two new nothospecies are described: Q. xpuentei (Q. orocantabrica × Q. petraea) and Q. xpenasii (Q. orocantabrica × Q. pyrenaica).

14 páginas., Monthly, seasonal and annual trends in mean temperatures have been analysed in this study using data from 37 weather stations from the Pakistan Meteorological Department with records from 1952 to 2009. Statistical tests including Sen's slope and Mann-Kendall were applied to each of the 37 stations in order to determine the sign and slopes of trends and their statistical significance. The study reveals that the temperature has generally increased in Pakistan at all time scales analysed over the past few decades. March and the pre-monsoon season were the periods with the highest number of weather stations showing statistical significance, and also with the highest magnitudes of trends. Mean annual temperature increased around 0.36 degrees C/decade. This rise in temperature is slightly higher than other results found for Pakistan. The association between temperatures and certain teleconnection patterns, as well as the influence of the urban effect, might be among the causes of the trends found in this study. The largest number of correlations between mean temperatures and teleconnection patterns was found in March, April and May with NAO, ENSO and NCP, respectively. The North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) may also have an influence on the temperatures of certain months in the monsoon season and particularly in August. At a seasonal resolution, NAO and NCP may control temperatures in the pre-monsoon season. The lowest number of sites exhibiting correlations was found in winter and in the post-monsoon seasons.

8 páginas, 2 tablas.-- Trabajo presentado a la 52ª Reunión Científica de la SEEP (Badajoz (España), 8-12 abril, 2013)., Se estudia el estado fenológico de 11 gramíneas en 14 prados de la Comarca de Riaño (Montaña de León) en tres momentos de corte relacionados con la gestión de los recursos forrajeros: para aprovechamiento directo “en verde”, para conservación mediante ensilado “ensilado temprano” y para conservación más tardía “ensilado tardío”. La caracterización del estado fenológico de cada especie se realizó mediante la descripción de 5-25 tallos. Los estados fenológicos medios en los distintos momentos de corte fueron: 27,4 (final del alargamiento de los tallos), 31,1 (emergencia de la inflorescencia) y 34,0 (alargamiento del pedúnculo de la espiga). Los tres momentos de corte ligados a los aprovechamientos, pueden identificarse atendiendo al estado fenológico predominante que alcanzan tres especies: Anthoxanthum odoratum, Poa pratensis y Lolium perenne. El aprovechamiento temprano “en verde” se identifica con las especies A. odoratum y P. pratensis (en estado de antesis y preantesis respectivamente); el aprovechamiento para “ensilado temprano” con P. pratensis y L. perenne (en preantesis y espiga totalmente emergida) y el aprovechamiento para “ensilado tardío” con A. odoratum y P. pratensis (en estados de postantesis y antesis respectivamente)., Este trabajo se llevó a cabo con la financiación de la Junta de Castilla y León con el programa de ayudas a la actividad investigadora al grupo de excelencia GR158.

11 páginas, 10 figuras, 2 tablas., The location of the Dominican Republic between parallels 17° and 19° north means it has a tropical macroclimate. The Dominican Republic and the Republic of Haiti belong to the island of Hispaniola, which has three bioclimates: tropical pluvial, tropical pluviseasonal and tropical xeric (Rivas- Martínez 2007). Io values are always higher than 1. The minimum Oi value is 1.1 (semiarid) in A. Sisal, at an altitude of 40 m, and the maximum Io value is 19.7 (hyperhumid) in Loma Casabito (cordillera Central) at 1,430 m. (Cano et al., 2009b). It/Itc values range between 187 in V. Nuevo (cordillera Central) and 799 in Jimaní (province of Independencia). If we apply the criterion of Rivas-Martínez (2007), the recorded It/Itc values merely confirm that the thermotype ranges between infratropical and mesotropical on the island of Hispaniola. The absence of weather stations above 1,500 m makes it impossible to estimate the It/Itc value. The weather station in V. Nuevo only shows data for 9 years and, consequently, the recorded It/Itc value of 187 (supratropical) is not significant. However, altitudes higher than 1,500 m are frequent, Pico Duarte, 3,175 m, being the highest peak. Winter temperatures drop below 0 °C in these mountain areas. This fact, together with the absence of moisture-laden trade winds above 2,000 m and the presence of forests of Pinus occidentalis have led us (Cano et al. (2011) to propose a tropical pluviseasonal bioclimate with a supratropical thermotype for Hispaniola., This work has contributed D.
