Background The CCCH zinc finger (zf_CCCH) is a unique subfamily featured one or more zinc finger motif(s) comprising of three Cys and one His residues. The zf_CCCH family have been reported involving in various processes of plant development and adaptation. Results In this study, the zf_CCCH genes were identified via a genome-wide search and were systematically analyzed. 116 Gmzf_CCCHs were obtained and classified into seventeen subfamilies. Gene duplication and expansion analysis showed that tandem and segmental duplications contributed to the expansion of the Gmzf_CCCH gene family, and that segmental duplication play the main role. The expression patterns of Gmzf_CCCH genes were tissue-specific. Eleven domesticated genes were detected involved in the regulation of seed oil and protein synthesis as well as growth and development of soybean through GWAS and haplotype analysis for Gmzf_CCCH genes among the 164 of 302 soybeans resequencing data. Among which, 8 genes play an important role in the synthesis of seed oil or fatty acid, and the frequency of their elite haplotypes changes significantly among wild, landrace and improved cultivars, indicating that they have been strongly selected in the process of soybean domestication. Conclusions This study provides a scientific foundation for the comprehensive understanding, future cloning and functional studies of Gmzf_CCCH genes in soybean, meanwhile, it was also helpful for the improvement of soybean with high oil content.

Premature obsolescence of existing buildings is a significant challenge for sustainable regeneration in cities internationally. Adaptive reuse is one approach to address obsolescence in cities globally. High vacancy can be a crucial predictor of obsolescence, but vacancy is poorly understood and can be 'hidden'. This paper presents a novel quantitative method, called Vacancy Visual Analytics Method (VVAM), to identify vacancy in city populations. VVAM permits detailed visualisation of the location and quantity of vacancy, including Greyspace, a form of hitherto undetectable vacancy. To test VVAM, this paper reports its application to a population of office buildings (n=118) in Adelaide, an Australian city reporting high office building vacancy. VVAM revealed the vacancy distribution did not lend itself to whole building adaptive reuse, despite the universal advocacy for greater adaptive reuse globally. This finding implies whole building adaptive reuse may not be appropriate to address vacancy in all cities. This study recommends policy formation should involve a thorough examination of vacancy across building populations to ensure policy efficacy. VVAM presents a useful tool to critically understand vacancy and inform policy to address urban vacancy, including cities affected by COVID-19 office building vacancy.

As a part of the General Extension Plan of Amsterdam, the Brettenzone was supposed to be a green recreational area and one of the green ‘wedges’ bringing nature and air into the city. The Brettenzone area divides the Amsterdam West into two parts, business area and harbor district in north and residential area in south, and the large greenery space of Brettenzone result in little communication between these two parts. The lack of public program and public space limit people's intention to enter this area, which obstruct the development of Brettenzone area. The goal of the project is in order to create meeting space for neighborhood while not having sacrificed, but rather extended the green space, attracting people from neighborhoods to enter this isolated space cover by greenery. Natural material and green roof will applied in the project to help the building to merge in the environment full with greenery.

The transport sector has extensive environmental, social and economic impacts on society and thus it is imperative for this sector to embrace the concept of sustainable development. Since 2000, a significant number of sustainable transport research outcomes have been published. The objectives of this study are to identify the hot research topics, explore knowledge gaps and recommend future directions in the domain of sustainable transport through a holistic review of the literature published in 2000–2019. A total of 882 bibliometric records of journal articles were searched from the Web of Science core collection database. Both quantitative scientometric analysis and qualitative discussion were undertaken to analyse the sustainable transport research. The analysis results showed nine hot research topics: 1) sustainable transport indicators and performance model, 2) sustainable transport policy, 3) involvement of stakeholders, 4) supply chain and logistics management, 5) environmental impact, 6) travel behaviour, 7) new fuels for vehicles, 8) transport strategic planning, and 9) bicycle and public transport. In addition, four knowledge gaps were identified relating to social sustainability of transport, use of information and communication technology, sustainability benefits, and resilient transport to deliver sustainability. Furthermore, future research directions were proposed to bridge these knowledge gaps. This review focuses on the journal articles in English only and may overlook some significant research published in other languages and conferences. Nevertheless, this study still benefits academics, industry practitioners and policy makers by providing an understanding of status quo, hot research topics, knowledge gaps and future research directions in the domain of sustainable transport.
