159. Long Lived NMR Signal in Bone

Abstract

Solids and rigid tissues such as bone, ligaments, and tendons, typically appear dark in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which is due to the extremely short-lived proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signals. This short lifetime is due to strong dipolar interactions between immobilized proton spins, which render it challenging to detect these signals with sufficient resolution and sensitivity. Here we show the possibility of exciting long-lived signals in cortical bone tissue with a signature consistent with that of bound water signals. Contrary to long-standing belief, it is further shown that dipolar coupling networks are an integral requirement for the excitation of these long-lived signals. The use of these signals could enhance the ability to visualize rigid tissues and solid samples with high sensitivity, resolution, and specificity via MRI., Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures

160. A wide-band perfect light absorber at mid-wave infrared using multiplexed metal structures

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a wide band near perfect light absorber in the mid-wave infrared region using multiplexed plasmonic metal structures. The wide band near perfect light absorber is made of two different size gold metal squares multiplexed on a thin dielectric spacing layer on the top of a thick metal layer in each unit cell. We also fabricate regular non-multiplexed structure perfect light absorbers. The multiplexed structure IR absorber absorbs above 98% incident light over a much wider spectral band than the regular non-multiplexed structure perfect light absorbers in the mid-wave IR region.

161. Wideband Optical Filters with Small Gap Coupled Subwavelength Metal Structures

Abstract

In this letter, we show that the bandwidth of optical band-stop filters made of subwavelength metal structures can be significantly increased by the strong plasmonic near-field coupling through the corners of the periodic metal squares. The effect of small gap coupling on the spectral bandwidth is investigated by varying the gap size between the metal squares. An equivalent transmission line model is used to fit the transmission and reflection spectra of the metal filters. The transmission line model can characterize well the metal structures with the gap size larger than the near-field decay length. However, it fails to model the transmission and reflection spectra when the gap size reaches the decay range of the near-field in the small gaps.

Abstract

Three‐way concept analysis is an important tool for information processing, and rule acquisition is one of the research hotspots of three‐way concept analysis. However, compared with three‐way concept lattices, three‐way semi‐concept lattices have three‐way operators with weaker constraints, which can generate more concepts. In this article, the problem of rule acquisition for three‐way semi‐concept lattices is discussed in general. The authors construct the finer relation of three‐way semi‐concept lattices, and propose a method of rule acquisition for three‐way semi‐concept lattices. The authors also discuss the set of decision rules and the relationships of decision rules among object‐induced three‐way semi‐concept lattices, object‐induced three‐way concept lattices, classical concept lattices and semi‐concept lattices. 165. Study on Static Characteristics of Optimized Structure with Haunch Angle in Box Subgrade of High-speed Railway.

Abstract

In order to study the influence of box subgrade haunching on structural static characteristics of high-speed railway, a more reasonable box subgrade haunching method is found. In this paper, the box subgrade is divided into independent components, and the reinforcement mode of each independent component is calculated through static analysis. ABAQUS software is used for numerical simulation. In view of the stress concentration phenomenon at the connection node between the top plate and the vertical plate of the box subgrade structure, the influence of different haunching heights and angles of the triangular haunch on the stress concentration at the node is studied by using the control variable method, and the optimal haunching mode is proposed to optimize the static characteristics of the box subgrade structure. The analysis results show that when the fixed axillary height is 400 mm and the axillary angle is between 15° ~ 60°, the stress mutation reduction ratio Sr value decreases with the increase of axillary angle; When the axillary angle is between 60° ~ 75°, the Sr value increases with the increase of the axillary angle, and the optimal axillary angle is between 45° ~ 60°. When the axillary angle is fixed at 60°, the Sr value decreases as the axillary length increases, and the optimal axillary length is between 300 ~ 400 mm. The determination of the reinforcement mode and the optimal haunching mode of the box type subgrade is innovative to a certain extent, and provides valuable technical experience for the research of structural optimization of box type Subgrade of high-speed railway in China.
